A lot of places seem to be increasing their prices without improving the quality of food or service, but Fogo manages to offer an excellent value with top-notch food and genuinely kind, attentive service. I recently visited twice in the past month--once before the Nutcracker with friends and family for drinks and light bites, and another time for a staff holiday party. So, I can speak to both the bar and the restaurant experience as a whole. Let's start with the salad bar. It offers an impressive variety, and my 7- and 3-year-olds were especially thrilled with the options. The salad bar has cheeses, soups, and meats, so there's plenty to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Once seated, they bring out the most delicious cheese bread, and before you know it, the meat service starts--quickly and without any waiting. They're even kind enough to ask if there are any specific cuts we'd like them to bring over! The servers are all so friendly and helpful, and the manager, Maeve, stopped by to check on us during our meal, even bringing something to the table herself. That's service at its finest. Our experience at the bar was equally great. We enjoyed tender lamb chops, and the drink menu was perfect for both kids and adults. I went to Fogo for happy hour. The happy hour selection is amazing! They have a variety of food and drink options and the prices are amazing. There is a burger and fries on the happy hour menu and it's only $9! It's definitely worthwhile going to Fogo for happy hour. The bar area is pretty spacious and there's plenty of seating. However, I would try to get there before 5pm on Thursday and Fridays because it can get pretty crowded. The service was good. Our waitress was not as attentive because the bar area was very busy. This is pretty much what you'd expect from a Brazilian steakhouse: all you can eat meat that comes around on skewers with a good salad bar to boot, albeit pricey. We came on a Wednesday night before going to see A Christmas Carol at Ford's Theater and it was good, but probably not worth the price. The good parts were that some of the steak was simply amazing. One round of filet mignon was as good as I've had anywhere. One round of the sirloin was also spectacular. My son simply loved the idea of all you can eat steak. His informing me after we left that his favorite was the "flaming yawn" also made my night. The parts that keep it from being a 5-star experience was that the meat was hit-and-miss and we waited for a long time to get the cuts of meat we wanted near the end. I usually love the picanha and one of the 3 times I got it was decent, but the other too it was too tough and a bit disappointing. To be honest, the night we were there about half the time the meat was disappointing. Also, toward the end of the meal, despite asking, it took 5-10 minutes for the cuts of meat we would like actually came out. There is so much chaos in the tight quarters with everyone squeezing past each other going to the buffet and gauchos trying to make their rounds. The tables are way too close together, especially for how much we are paying. Everything was a disaster. The quality of the meat was mediocre. The servers kept asking what doneness was preferred and everytime I said rare they would carve off the outside of new piece... Obviously we'll done. This tells me they don't care and are in a hurry just to move on. Why even ask the question? There was no order for the rounds, either. At the end of the day I had to flag down our waiter 3 or 4 times to get all the different cuts to come to our table. Never, ever again. They've got a pretty large variety. I got the sweet potato casserole (amazing), hummus (delicious), roasted garlic (very yummy with my steak), asparagus (wasn't cooked how I like it, was too hard), and a few other options. They also bring complimentary mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and caramelized bananas to the table. The steak was amazing. I've been to a few other locations but this specific one was great at bringing meats other than sirloin. I love the filet mignon and bone in ribeye cuts. They were delicious and melted in my mouth. SERVICE/AMBIANCE- service was amazing. Made sure we were taken care of. This place definitely gets a little crowded on the weekends. PARKING- Valet is $12 if I remember correctly. There were top and bottom steak cuts, lamb, ribs, and fried cheese. The side bar had ample supply of delicacies to choose from. The meats did start to slow down at our table, maybe the last 25 minutes of our time there. This was most likely due to the nighttime crowd coming in. So, i would advise you to get an early evening time to be able to sample all the meats they have available without the slow down due to filling up. Hell yes. You know the deal at these types of restaurants. What you don't know is that this location is great at ensuring you get exactly the cuts you want. They are also great at ensuring that you get it cooked to your liking. Everything was dang near perfect. The garlic sirloin and lamb chops were by far the stars of the meal. Service was equally great and with a few glasses of wine and a tip I was well over $100 but I think it was worth it.
