Happy hour at Fogo de Chão is actually worth the stop. Went on a Friday with two friends and we had a great time. The appetizers and cocktails were tasty and very reasonably priced, which made it an easy yes for a casual meetup. The only downsides: limited drink options (no tequila), and the bread and empanadas could've been a little fresher. Service was friendly and the crowd was steady, but not super social more people in their own lanes, with a few families mixed in.

The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. It was my daughter's dream. We arrived in DC feeling famished and decided to eat here. We waited like 5 minutes to be sat. I know it's a chain but we had a great experience. The drinks were so good. My husband loved the fried plantains. The sirloin was excellent. I loved the salad bar and cheese bread. The bacon wrapped chicken was my favorite. All the staff was very welcoming and attentive. We hope the one in Kansas is just as tasty.

Happy Birthday molten chocolate cake. The Chocolate Brigadeiro is also a winner.

This is a great place for an after business meeting, family celebration, or special occasion. We were visiting for a birthday. The customer service and team approach to the wait staff works well. The green light/red light approach to the dining experience is ingenious. Everything we tried was well prepared. The salad bar is not typical. The offerings were quite diverse. The cocktails were on point. One of the stars of the show was the desert. For your birthday, you receive your choice. The molten cake is absolutely delicious. One most notable plus is the valet parking. Downtown parking can be a nightmare. Overall, I would highly recommend Fogo de Chão. Happy eating!

I've been to many Fogo locations and it is always a gluttonous delight - this location is on par with the others. I came here with a large party of 15. The salad bar has an impossible variety of dishes, and there are almost too many meat options to choose from. On top of that you are given warm cheesy breads (pao de quejiao), polenta fries, fried sweet plantains, and buttery mash. $75/pp for the full experience - it's worth it! Be prepared to eat your heart out, dieters and vegans beware! The interior is classy and the staff are attentive and awesome.

Writing a review simply for the $10 Picanha Burger from the bar menu. This is an awesome deal and the burger is so good you would be surprised it's priced at $10. It is the perfect lunch in DC. Almost feels like I am doing a lunch hack as a $10 meal in DC is hard to come by. All burger components made fresh and I like that it comes with crispy polenta. Service was quick and the waitress made our custom requests happen (subbed polenta for a salad, which they said they don't normally do but did for us anyway).

Fogo is great. Always Great. Happy Hour is 24/7, just ask for the menu. Theirs always heavy weights in here that are somewhat movers and shakers too, so mingling is worthwhile.

Came here on Sunday for their Sunday brunch. What's hot - Quality. Very good. Surprisingly, my favorite meats were the bacon wrapped chicken, bacon wrapped filet, and their chicken drumsticks. The meats were incredibly tender and flavorful, but not too salty. All their meats were a good flavor, as well. I especially liked their salad bar of smoked salmon, asparagus, mushrooms, beet salad, and their fruits. They had fresh papaya, pineapple, and orange slices. The fresh fruits were great to round out the meal after so much meat. Hubby and I also recommend their fruit parfait with granola, Greek yogurt and fresh fruits. Their Greek yogurt is not too sweet, so the parfait is a nice palate cleanser after eating so much ,eat. - Service. Excellent. We never had to wait for anything. There was always staff checking up on us, which we appreciated. Their meats came out in a whirlwind, which caught us off guard, because we were taking our time to eat. Their staff appear to be well-trained in ensuring timely service and following up with customers. Whenever a table was done, we saw their staff quickly clean the table to be prepared for service for the next set of customers. - Layout. It's pretty good. There's enough space between tables to move around. We appreciated being seated at a table for 4, because it gave us more space. Their bathroom is upstairs, which is also pretty spacious. Their upstairs has additional seating, which looks helpful for group events. - Location. Pretty central in DC, which is nice, especially to many tourist locations. Also close to the Archives metro station. What's not - Price. Hubby and I took advantage of their Veterans Day special of 50% off for the veteran or active duty member and 10% off for their family member. We encountered no difficulty with obtaining our discount. However, their regular price is $57 per person for brunch. For dinner it's $76. To be fair, it's good value for money. However, because Fogo de Chao is expensive, hubby and I only come here for special occasions. Final answer Definitely a good place to go to for Sunday brunch and would recommend, but for special occasions.

We came out with a group to have dinner and haven't been in a while. The food was as good as I remember, but in terms of the meats coming around was a bit disappointing so I took off a star. Nothing was coming to our table and we had to ask multiple times, and still to no avail we didn't get certain meats ever coming to our table. It would be great if they figured out a better system to ensure each table is offered the various selection of meats, especially when your green card is up. Other than that, what we were offered and able to get did taste great as always.

Calling all meat lovers!!!! My GO TO Brazil steakhouse - all you can eat - in DC by the White House Carnivore in the house. Start with the salad bar. Don't load up too much. Highly recommend cheese, sliced cold cuts, charcuterie, roasted garlic cloves (my only plant lol pop them like candy; cure all). Splurge on candied bacon. Smoked salmon. MEATS - BEEF RIBS, which you must ask for. Melts in your mouth like "butta!" Fatty. Moist. Juicy. Fred Flintstone. Dinosaur ribs haha. Super satiating. Hidden gem. COSTELA. -- rubbed with rock salt, seasoned crust; grilled for hours VERY SALTY but MY FAV. - PICANHA - Prime Part of the Top Sirloin. My second fav!! A staple Brazilian meat. - Lamb Chomps. Mmmmmmm - Sausage. Nom - FILET MIGNON -- Beef Tenderloin - Ribeye bone in. Yummmm - MEDALHÕES COM BACON / Bacon-Wrapped Steak - Chimichurri sauce meat topper -- herb and spice sauce -- olive oil, vinegar, garlic, finely chopped parsley. A game changer. Dessert -- back in the day -- amazing New York style cheesecake!!!! Chocolate cake. CHOCOLATE BRIGADEIRO Rich truffled chocolate in a decadent chocolate cookie crust topped with chocolate ganache and sprinkles. No more sweet treats for me. My teeth will thank me. Haha. Animal based now with a splash of plants. Haha. Parking a beast as in downtown. Uber. Lyft. Metro train, bus. Flip your paper card to green. Food galore. Passed on the sides. But they are good. Mashed potatoes. Bread cheese balls. Bananas. Polenta. Yuca. Unlimited Customer Service. Exquisite!! I'll be back. Happy hour too is available at the bar, Mon-Fri!

Whenever in a city for work travel I try to find a Fogo De Chão because of the happy hour menu. Whoever came up with the happy hour idea deserves a raise. Probably one of the best happy hours in the D.C. area. This place is great for large groups or solo dinners waiting for their train outside of D.C. service is top tier and everyone is always helpful. The $10.00 Picana burger was juicy, flavorful, and probably one of the best burgers for this price point in D.C.

The lamb lollipops on the bar menu here are really good. I will say the location at the wharf has a much better ambiance and atmosphere than downtown, like night and day. I was downtown craving a snack and stopped by for these which seem to be consistent between both locations. Only 4 stars since no one has gotten back to any of my emails regarding a negative experience last time.

The place was absolutely amazing. My daughter said she wanted the "Dad Dinner Selection" for her birthday so I gave her just that. The meat was all really good and well seasoned... and it just kept coming. We had to flip to red a few times to stop the slow. The buffet bar was decent, I've seen better assortments but hey, you don't go there for the buffet. I liked the glazed pepper bacon. This place was awesome and would definitely try it again at a different location. I love the chain, always the best cuts!

    Pão de Queijo
    Joshua K.

My friend and I recently went to Fogo de Chão to celebrate a special occasion and had a great experience. The ambiance and service were both top-notch. My friend and I both got the churrasco experience, which came with access to the buffet and meat delivered to the table (you can substitute fish for the meat). Our meal started off with Pão de Queijo being delivered to our table, which was delicious. We then went to the buffet bar, which had several delicious salads and soups. I enjoyed the meats that came to the table, which you can get cooked rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well-done. I especially liked the ribs, flank, sirloin and the filet mignon-all were cooked perfectly medium rare and were seasoned with the right amount of salt and pepper. My friend's Chilean Sea Bass was also well-cooked, although the sides were just OK. My friend and I shared the chocolate lava cake and the chocolate brigadeiro for dessert. The lava cake center and ice cream were both good, but the cake was dry. The brigadeiro had a good crust, but needed a sauce and more flavor. I would recommend Fogo de Chão for your next special dinner!

Just the lamb is available, but please call first!

Has anyone been to both this location and Tysons and willing to compare? I see slightly lower ratings for Tysons. Seems like the food would be standard, but what about the space? One more or less crowded than the other?

I would say Tysons is less crowded. The DC location seems bigger to me though. Also, Tysons customer service is not very good. Go with the DC one if you can. I always drive to DC for a better experience.

Is this baby friendly? Can I bring a stroller in?

    Yes!

    Is the upstairs handicapped accessible?

Yes there is an elevator that can take you upstairs if needed.

If I arrive with a group of 4 or more will we still be able to individually pay with a credit card?

    Definitely!

What is the price of this restaurant?

$55 for dinner and $35 for lunch. Just the salad bar (which also has good selection of small cold cuts and smoked salmon) is about $17 for lunch. The drinks are where the price is weighted.

Can I go here on a fancy date night?

Yes! It's actually pretty fancy inside. But do you want someone constantly asking you if you want more meat on your date? Maybe if it's not your first date. Haha

When every dish lands and the vibes are just right, it's no surprise the seats stay full. Food: Aperitivos: * Dadinhos de Tapioca $18: Cheesy, light, and incredibly satisfying. The guava sauce was nice, but honestly, these stood perfectly well on their own. * Torresmo $18: Easily one of the top three pork belly dishes of my food critic career. Crispy, rich, and unforgettable. Pratos: * Peixe Cru $23: Fresh, vibrant, and beautifully composed. This dish set the tone for what turned out to be an excellent meal. * Frango à Passarinho $23: A playful elevation of fried chicken. The touch of honey added just enough sweetness without making it overly sticky. Churrasco: * Picanha Black Angus $41: Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The farofa added just the right amount of texture to complement a beautifully cooked steak. Service: The chef's counter seats give you a front-row view of the kitchen in action. My friends and I came in for dinner on a Tuesday night, and despite it being a Tuesday, Cana was…read morelively like it could have been a Friday evening. We really enjoyed the food here, which I'll detail below. -Dadinhos de tapioca: tapioca cubes filled with cheese and fried, with guava sauce on the side. I thought this was going to be more of a dessert dish, given the sweet guava sauce, but it does work as a dish that straddles the line between sweet and savory. The outside is delicately crispy with a gooey inside that is easy to enjoy. -Coxinha de pato: Duck leg croquettes, dropped off as a complimentary dish, ended up being one of our favorites of the meal. It is generously (and appropriately) sauced with a pimenta aioli that you'll want to lick off the plate. -Estrogonofe de cogumelos: a variety of roasted mushrooms in a lovely savory sauce with shoestring potatoes and rice. A great heftier dish for vegetarians and omnivores alike, the mushrooms are that perfect roasted texture that is neither overly crispy nor slimy. Eaten in a bite with the crispy potatoes and rice gives it a perfect combination of textures. -Black angus picanha: Perfectly cooked and so tender, with an intensely flavorful crust. I savored every bite. -Arroz de brocolis: This is way too good to be relegated as "just a side". The rice is somehow creamy, yet not gloopy. -Salada verde: A pretty standard green salad but elevated with gorgeous lettuce and a light vinaigrette. I do have a pet peeve about restaurant salads where they leave the leaves whole. Why make me cut the leaves myself? -Gengibre: we weren't feeling alcoholic cocktails on a Tuesday evening so two of us each ordered the Gengibre NA cocktail. It is one of the best NA cocktails I've had, super refreshing and just the right amount of tartness. The three of us were quite satisfied after this meal, and after tax and tip our bill came to around $180. The service had nothing to really complain about, although we did notice that they were unusually assertive about clearing the plates of those of us who had slowed down, even though one of our party was still visibly eating. Odd, but not enough to put us off. Overall, the food and experience were excellent, and I'd say Cana is a great place for a special meal in the area.

She clearly explained the different experiences--from the churrasco and Wagyu offerings to the sushi and small plates--and gave us time to look over the menu without any pressure. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great ambiance and music that really set the tone for a special night. My husband chose the Platinum Tier dining experience for my special occasion and it was worth it. Our server, Mike, truly made the entire evening unforgettable. From start to finish, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He took the time to explain each dish, offered great recommendations, and made sure we were always taken care of. We started with Brazilian cheese bread, which was just okay, but the trio of flavored butters (gochujang, black sesame, and regular) was unique and delicious. Then came the Fire & Ice seafood tower, which was not only beautifully presented but also came with a dramatic tableside display. The grilled shrimp and oysters Rockefeller were excellent, and the chilled oysters and sashimi skewers were fresh and flavorful. The lotus chips on the side were also a nice touch. One dish that didn't quite hit for me was the lobster tempura--it was slightly salty and it was a bit soggy when I expected it to be crisp. However, the lobster bisque more than made up for it. It was hands down one of the best I've ever had--the broth was light but yet very rich and flavorful, perfectly executed!!! We were also served a shrimp egg custard that was interesting and enjoyable, though we were already starting to get full at that point! Then came the highlight: the unlimited premium meats. Everything from the A5 Japanese Wagyu to the lamb chops was delicious and high quality. The bone marrow pasta and Wagyu fried rice were standout favorites for us as well. The presentation throughout the entire meal was stunning--every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and visually beautiful. What truly made the night special, though, was Mike. He went above and beyond to make my birthday feel celebrated. He surprised me with all three desserts, a complimentary champagne toast, sparkles candles, and even two beautiful take-home gifts (a set of Japanese-style bowls like the ones used for the lobster bisque, with the restaurant's name on them). That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to us. We had so much food that we couldn't finish everything, and Mike kindly allowed us to pack up what we couldn't finished to take home. Overall, this was an incredible experience with outstanding service. Honestly, it was far better than when my husband took me to Hell's Kitchen a few years ago--we spent just as much there but received nowhere near the level of service or even a simple birthday acknowledgment. Highly recommend Churasko, and if you can, ask for Mike--he will take amazing care of you!

Went here to celebrate my brother's birthday for the whole family because I wanted to check this…read moreplace out after seeing it all over social media. Wow were we disappointed. We paid Michelin star prices for airport lounge food. That is how I can describe it. The silver and gold packages per person ARE NOT WORTH IT. They give you unlimited wine and beer but it's not wine you get to choose and they were out of the Japanese beer my brother wanted. They have house sake but you can't choose the sake you want. For the cost of what we paid per person (which includes tip) and the service reflects that. You could tell our server didn't want to come to our table very much at all. The only thing that blew me away with the gold package which is what we got was the grilled pineapple. The silver package sits you in the silver section with the silver buffet. The gold package sits you in the gold section with the gold buffet. You get the point so your party all has to do one of them...then there's the platinum which I will never find out about because it's NOT WORTH IT. I thought we were going to get lobster and oysters and all of the wagyu tacos I saw on instagram. I come to find out that is the à la carte menu and it is probably way cheaper than what we paid. The most disappointing thing was that we were told we were getting something called Australian and American Wagyus??? Yeah they were awful pieces of meat. I wanted the Japanese A5 Wagyu seared in front of me for $150 a person at a JAPANESE STEAKHOUSE. It's not the American steakhouse or the Australian steakhouse...it's Japanese...The Filet and Picanha were the softest pieces of meat they offered but even then I could have cooked and eaten better at home. Thank goodness the one great thing is that they didn't charge us for the 2 kids because there was no way they were going to eat $150 worth of food each. If they had charged us for the kids, it definitely would have been highway robbery. The sushi at their "airport lounge like buffet" wasn't great either. The sushi and seaweed salad was sitting out for awhile. It was my brother's birthday and we didn't get a cake- you could only choose 1 of 3 desserts from their buffet. I wanted to try the 4 milks cake but since we didn't know or do the à la carte we were limited to what they offered in the gold package. The ambience and vibes are cool. But definitely just stay downstairs and order off their menu. To do it right I would have gotten the first drink on the house for ladies at dusk and ordered from menu. I hate these kinds of steakhouses because you're always left feeling like you didn't get the quality -- you just got quantity. We felt defeated and I could have eaten better at Capital Grille or gone to a Michelin and at least would have felt more wow-ed! -after a $1,220 for 6 people, I honestly want my money back...

All. Day. Happy. Hour…read more I always labeled this restaurant a BRO date place cause of all the meats (pause). Yes they have a great salad/cold bar but for the price I could never justify visiting again for dinner. So when my friend suggested visiting before a concert at Anthem I was annoyed but quickly changed my feeling when she shared the HH menu. $10 yummy specialty cocktails and a nice line-up of apps to purchase to eat alone or share? I was so excited. I order the lamb chop lollipops, you can cut them with a butter knife! It's my favorite. This location has a great patio, service and strong drinks. The fact you can see the sunset over the water and have a more elevated happy hour is a huge plus. All prices are comparable to the other restaurants in that area. Truly a fan, I even invited my coworkers - which I never do - for happy hour and a few of us ended up staying and closing the place down. Team Building, ya know. Bonding over great food and drinks. Don't just think about it in passing - GO, Visit Today

Incredible Experience - Ask for Eliseo and Matias!…read more We had an absolutely phenomenal lunch at the Fogo de Chão at The Wharf, and it was entirely due to the incredible team work of our server Eliseo and Gaucho chef, Matias. Our server, Eliseo, was incredibly attentive and kept the pace of the meal perfect, but the highlight was our Gaucho chef, Matias. From the moment he arrived at our table, it was clear he was a master of his craft. He cuts every selection so elegantly and treats the meat with real respect. We actually found out why he's so skilled: he used to be the meat chef at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen just down the street, where he prepared all the cuts for their famous Beef Wellingtons. That level of expertise really shines through in his work here. Matias took the time to explain cuts of meat to us, and his knowledge of the different meats is top-tier. What impressed us most was his attention to detail--whenever we mentioned we wanted a specific piece charred a bit more, he didn't just say "okay," he took it and charred it for us immediately. He is by far one of the best Gaucho chefs I've ever encountered. A huge thank you to Matias for paying such close attention to our needs and making this a truly special experience. We will definitely be back!
