Now, it hasn't been a decade since I have been to a Brazilian steakhouse, but it's definitely been about that time since I've been to Fogo! The occasion was a birthday... there were about 20 of us. We got seated after a few minutes and everything honestly flowed like water. We were able to order drinks and get up to get food as we pleased. When our coasters were flipped on the green side, we got rushed with meats to try. I personally enjoyed the chicken and lamb options the most. The salad bar was really hitting too -- I got lots of greens to balance out my meal, such as asparagus, broccoli and more. And let's not forget the mashed potatoes, polenta and cheesy bread they kept replenishing at the table... yum! There's an 'all day happy hour' deal with $10 cocktails... I opted for caipirinhas which were delicious -- specifically the passionfruit one. All in all, Fogo was as great as I remember, and I think everyone had a great time. As someone who doesn't eat meat I was initially worried about the options but I was happy to see there's plenty of pescatarian as well as vegetarian options on the menu & within the market table. Wow, so, if you like meat, this is definitely your place. Come with an empty stomach--they have a full salad bar (unlimited), and literally non-stop meat, cooked to order. As a vegan, I appreciated that the salad bar items were marked as vegan, so I knew what I could eat. I also appreciated that there were two vegan items on the menu. I'll just say, I got the tofu and black noodles dish. It was just lacking in execution; the tofu needs to be more cooked and the noodles were completely dry, really needing a sauce. The cocktails were awesome, and I was shocked they actually had drinks on happy hour for $10. I got the super fruit lemonade, and the passionate cocktail. I for sure would get the passionate cocktail, as that passion fruit flavor was seriously perfection! We'd definitely come again! Other than the food, our service was nearly perfect. We were never lacking in anything, other than having to ask our servers each time to remove our salad bar plates. We decided to visit Fogo de Chao on Veteran's Day, to celebrate my spouses service. There were so many unfortunate events at this location on 11/11/25, that I was left baffled. One of our favorite styles of restaurant is a churrascaria, and this is the first time we've left disappointed. 1. There was a dirty napkin on my seat when we were 'deposited' at the table, and a second one under our table (as well as at least three other tables that I noted). 2. The music in the restaurant was not what I would call ambiance. No. It was bar loud, and somehow it was nightclub loud in the restrooms! We had to raise our voices to be able to carry on a conversation, when we prefer to actually drop our voices when in a public space. 3. Out of the six or seven servers that we interacted with, only one seemed to actually want to be there. We were met with dour faces, dead eyes, and no smiling or interaction. The one stand out was the one who approached our table to ask if he could close the curtains as the sun was setting and was fully in my spouses eyes. In a style of restaurant where I am used to being inundated with servers walking by, it was difficult to even get anyone's attention. At one point, I was asked if I was finished with the plate in front of me, and I said yes (wanting a clean plate). She did NOT bring me a clean plate. When the next server came by to offer some food, I said I'd love some but I clearly didn't have a plate (this was the grilled cheese with honey). He stared at me for several seconds as if he expected me to produce or find my own new plate before walking off without a word and finding a clean one. 4. The food. Now, one of my favorite parts of these restaurants is the amazing cold food/salad service options. This was the smallest I've ever encountered. I will note that it was fresh, and the food was good, just not much variety. The meat, on the other hand, is a totally different story. 5. Ahhhhhh the meat. We were there from 3:45pm - appx 5:30 pm. Until 10 after 5, we were offered meat that can only be classified as well done, to completely dry, to tough to chew, to inedible. Well done should not be the only option. That animal already died, no need to kill it twice. At about 10 after 5, we saw about 7 more options that actually had pink to the interior, were juicy, and didn't look like they had been roasting for two days. Overall, I would not return to this location, and cannot recommend. You are better off spending $120-$150 for two people ordering/frequenting elsewhere. I don't know if there is an issue with management, an issue with training, or an issue with hiring people who want to do their job, but this was an abject failure. Of all the churrascarias I have ever been to, this was hands down the worst. Two stars simply because the salad/cold foods were good. read more

The meat was so flavorful and Wolcott as well as so many options on the salad bar. We were here celebrating my boyfriends birthday and they really took care of us and made him feel special. If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, this is a good place to start. I have been to one on a cruise and they were pretty in par with one another. Pros: the salad bar was great. Had all the bread and cheeses and pickled things you could want. They had lots of meats they cut from the skewers and give you a piece of. My favorite was the lamb and the bacon wrapped something. All the meat servers talked so fast and had an accent I didn't know what they were saying. They had one grilled cheese with honey it was very good. We asked for grilled pineapple because that was so good from our cruise one. It wasn't as grilled or seasoned like we remembered but was still good. Con: it was confusing that we had about two or three people try to be our waiter. Not sure if the meat walkers had a section or were going all over the dining hall, which was huge and had an upstairs. Maybe they had sections? It was a little chaotic hustle and bustle but we were right next to the salad bar so that was good. The sides were cooked banana, polenta, and masked potatoes. Plus the Brazilian cheese bread. They were pretty good on keeping those filled. The other one I went to had more sides but smaller portions. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend. I was really excited to try out Fogo for the first time due to all the great things I heard about it from friends. I decided to treat myself to a solo birthday dinner on a random weeknight. I made a reservation ahead of time on Open Table for 8:15 pm. I arrived at 8:05 pm and checked in. My name was added to a list and I was given a device to notify me when my table was ready. No big deal. I figured they were running behind. The lobby and dining room were packed and people kept trickling in from the street. About 10 minutes after me, a couple entered and had an 8:30 reservation. I overheard the host inform them there was a wait as well despite having a reservation. Fast forward to 8:25 pm, the couple who arrived after me and had a later reservation was seated while I continued to wait. I asked the host what was the method for seating guests with reservations. I was informed that my Open Table reservation was not a reservation but an option to reserve a time slot which made no sense to me. I then countered that if that was the case why was the couple with a later time slot seated before me as I referenced the host sheet. He then replied that they may have been seated at a table for 4 people. Again makes no sense because whether it was a party of 1 or 2 neither would've filled a table of 4 and I could've been seated before them. Finally, the host informed me that he didn't know what happened and I was taken to a table at 8:35 towards the back of the restaurant and wouldn't you know, I was seated at a table for 4! My main server was Hermon who provided me with pretty good customer service. Despite being extremely busy, he was attentive and answered my questions as they came along. Another young lady also checked on me often and fulfilled some of my drink orders. I opted for the full experience which included the market bar and the meats. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience all of the meats before the restaurant closed but enjoyed the ones I did get to have. The meal came with bread, mashed potatoes, and plantain and polenta on the side. I also ordered wine and a passion fruit caipirinha with my meal. At the end, I was surprised with a huge piece of cheesecake with a cute happy birthday message on the plate. I sampled a bite but had to box it and take it home because I was full. Overall, Fogo didn't make the best first impression on me. Whatever system is used for organizing and seating guests with reservations and walk-ins, definitely needs to be fine-tuned. It appeared extremely disorganized and chaotic from my viewpoint at the entrance. I would've had a more pleasant experience if the host had owned up to his mistake. Numerous large parties were coming and going and it shouldn't have been that difficult to find a table for 1 with a previously made reservation. Hopefully, the restaurant is receptive to this feedback and makes some major improvements to its check-in system. read more

It was ok. The service wasn't great and the meat was over salted. The items on the "market" (salad bar) were in some cases disappointing. Overly seasoned (again salted) and the breadcrumbs were tough as leather. Many skip the salad but it's part of the experience and usually really good at these types of places. On top of that, the price was $67 for just the food, not including wine and the dessert. That's higher than I've typically paid at a Brazilian steakhouse. I have been to Fogo about 5 or more times. I love the Churrasco Experience where they offer continuous service and an assortment of delicious meats to choose from. While they have great selections of steak, chicken, pork, and more, I have always found their side dishes and salad bar lacking. With the experience, the salad bar is included and they give the table bread, mashed potatoes and plantain. It would be nice to have better options included with the experience. $67 isn't a bad price for the experience so bring your appetite. Each time I've visited, I have had great customer service. The atmosphere is nice and feels upscale but still family friendly. Overall, I like Fogo and I'm sure I'll return sometime in the near future. read more

I would like to inform you of a recent experience that ruined my Master's of Public Health Graduation Celebration at your location in Washington, DC. Months ago, I made reservations for 14 people immediately following my graduation celebration. The reservations, under MY name, Sloan Sanford, was made through your website and I received both email (Sloan.sanford@gmail.com) and text (202-975-8060) confirmations. The reservation was made in March. After graduation, my family and friends arrived at the restaurant before me because the graduates had to follow protocol and it took me longer to exit the venue. Guests checked in under the name, SLOAN SANFORD. Upon my arrival, I learned that my party had been moved three times due to come confusion between the restaurant and one of my guests in sharing the number of folks in the party. The churrasco experience begins and I notice that we are not being served certain cuts of meat. I specifically continue to ask for the costellas and it never comes. Meanwhile, one of the servers is serving sausage and he's LITERALLY throwing the meat DIRECTLY onto people's plates. Not only is this questionable from a hygiene standpoint, he was also causing the grease from the sausage to splash onto our table. We finally get the beef ribs served to us about 45 minutes later. As a person who does not eat pork, up until then, my meat options had been quite limited. I would later find out that this was because the waiter's assumed we had purchased a package which only included certain, less expensive, cuts of meat. Even though that was not the case. At the conclusion of the lunch, we ask for the bill, and the waiter starts talking to me about a contract that I signed and that I couldn't change the contract. I have absolutely no idea what is talking about and I try to explain that I simply made a reservation for 14 people at the rate 41.50/person for lunch. The waiter brings out a bill which totaled over $850 for a total of 10 people's lunch. We al had the churrasco experience. I tried to explain to him that this couldn't be our bill. He then brings the manager out, he is an older, balding gentleman with a beard and glasses who started the conversation rudely and ended it even worse. He brings out a piece of paper and TELLS me that this was the contract I signed. I am attempting to ask him the name on the contract because I know I did not sign a contract. He then nastily says to me that he's not going to go back and forth with me. I am now in shock! I relied that I wasn't going back and forth with him. Rather, I am attempting to gather facts about the situation and would like to start with the name of the person on the contract. He then tells me that the name is LaTanya Williams and I attempt to tell him that it's not me. He then questions me and says so this isn't you. And I respond that it's not. He continues to insist that it is. I then remove myself from the table because the situation was getting very ugly. I went to find another manager, a completely bald, younger man (whom I asked earlier to come and intervene but ignored my request). I explained to him the situation and he would not help. He stated that the man I was speaking to was the manager. I go back to the table and the older manager is now talking to my mother. He told my mother that I was, essentially, lying about my name. That I placed LaTanya Williams name on the contract but was now calling myself Sloan Sanford. My mother, Arona Sanford, calmed him down and explains that she was there when I made the reservation and that no contract was ever in place. After being accused of wrong doing, being called a liar, being talked to nastily in front of my guests and entire restaurant full of people, I am finally brought my correct bill which is more than $300 LESS than what he insisted I owed. No apology was given. No discount was offered. As a matter of fact, we were charged $51 instead of $41 per person. What is most striking and hurtful about this situation is the subtle racism at play. My name is and has always been Sloan Sanford, I've often been confused for a white male because of my name. But I have NEVER IN MY LIFE had someone accuse me of falsifying my name to get out of paying for someone and insist that I must have the blacker sounding name of LaTonya. Your staff publicly humiliated me and my guests over their ASSUMPTIONS. To say that I am disgusted and appalled by the actions of your employees is an understatement. read more

I came to Fogo for the first time last night for my birthday! It was a great experience. I was impressed with the ambiance throughout the entire night. You have the waiters who wander around with different kinds of meats, the bartenders who create showy cocktails and top shelf drinks, and then there was constantly someone checking on us. All of this made it a unique and pleasant experience for me. The biggest issue I had with Fogo is that when a gentleman asked me if I wanted grilled cheese I said yes (I only wanted to try it). After putting one on my plate, I said, "That's enough." I repeated myself twice and he added two more pieces. I assumed he hadn't heard me so I asked him if he heard me say, "That's enough"? His response is what shocked me. He replied dismissively, "Yeah, but you're gonna eat!" and he walked off. Myself and my boyfriend did not find it humorous or admirable. This was our second time coming to Fogo and we had high expectations because of the first. We brought our family to show them the experience on Christmas Eve right before the busy dinner hour. We weren't impressed with most of the meats. Our favorite was the sirloin this time around because that was cooked perfectly. But I remember having garlic steak my first time and it was fantastic: but this time, it was tough eating the food. In fact, most of the meats were pretty tough. The chicken was incredibly dry, the lamb was tough, and most of the steak was tough. We showed our disappointment to the staff, and they also saw how tough some of the meat looked. All they could do was agree. For $67 per person plus drinks, our bill was over $500. I wouldn't come back until the chefs have better quality control over the food. The desk was disorganized and the host was not there.. a girl arrived a few minutes later when there were a few separate parties waiting.. she only spoke to one.. then left again.. we waited another 15 minutes.. she returned and didn't even ask why we were standing there or if we've been helped..I had to interrupt her from leaving again.. to let her know that we are here to check-in for it reservation. The moment we walked in, I could smell the dirty carpets. It put me right off eating.. there were pieces of meat thrown on the carpet. Dust all over the outdated decorative flowerers.. just very dirty. We proceeded to be seated at our table and continued to the "buffet". Unripe pineapple, fly, some sort of chicken salad and soup that had been handled a little too much.. not worth spending $ here.
