I have never been to Fogo de Chao but have been to a brazilian steak house that is the same concept. Came here as a group of 7 with reservations for a birthday celebration. We were seated quickly in the back of a smaller room off the main dining area. There was another large party nearby and it was difficult to naviagate the room. The person I assumed was our server came by explained the concept, told us to go to the salad bar and to drink orders. We headed to the salad bar and for me there was not much there that I wanted to eat. I grabbed some salad, some street corn, a few cucumbers and cheese. Headed back to the table and waited for the meat parade. The first few things that came our way were pork and not something I wanted. So we waited and waited. By the time the meat got to our table there was very little left so they gave the smallest portion ever or just gave the rest to one person. Other people in our party hit up the salad bar again but since I wasn't super interested the first go round I didn't go back. Meanwhile meat is not coming to our area of the room. Finally someone in our party got up and said something and then the meat came by so quickly and so frequently there wasn't time to try and get what you wanted let alone eat it. It was toward the end of the meal we finally got the the bread bites and cheese. Because it was a birthday they brought a slice of cheesecake. Overall for $63.50 this was NOT worth it. I did not get enough food to feel full let alone get $63.50 worth. They also over charged us. Children are supposed to be $31.75 (half the adult price) but they charged us for 7 adult meals. My kid literally ate 3 small pieces of bread, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, beans and rice. I tried to get them steak (which they love) but they didn't like it. (Which I get. Some of the cuts of meat were very fatty, grisly, poorly seasoned and not good). Also they never offered us new plates. People who had been here before stated they normally swap out plates but we ate off the little bread plates the entire meal, no matter what meat was served (some meats were quite bloody and I actually had blood splattered on my bag that was on the back of my chair, not to mention all over the table cloths (table cloths are white). It was odd to eat bloody beef, then have to eat chicken in the same spot. Based on this experience I am unlikely to return here. If you had the meat coming at a steady pace and could get a fill of meat it might be worth it but I would rather just go to a nice steakhouse and order a cut of steak cooked to how I like it and it would be cheaper. Also not the restaurants fault but it is located in a BUSY outdoor shopping area. We drove into the parking garage, found a spot, exited the parking garage and were 3 BLOCKS away from the restaurant. So unless you valet, budget a good amount of time to walk/get there. read more

We always expect Fogo de Chao to have great food. Today they did. We had to ask for filet mignon (which we don't mind doing), but once it came, it was almost like having dessert -- it was melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious. Very much worth the wait! (If you're not seeing the meat you want, just ask for it.) Then there's the brown sugar and black pepper bacon. Oh. My. Word. Crazy good. As for service, 5 stars for Moe, Emily, and Dylan (Dillon?). Very personable and efficient, especially considering how many steps a day a Fogo server must take for even small tasks. They were all lovely and made our experience even better. The food was great! The service was absolutely AWEFUL! I thought once again that I could go in on a Tuesday night and get decent service. I was mistaken. 10 min for bread. Had to ask three different people for mashed potatoes. The water person kept the glasses filled. We got table side cocktails which are ere wonderful, too. I will also say.. try the creme brûlée The one negative of the night that I'd like to warn others about.. We were asked if we wanted Spring or Sparkling water. Those were the only options we were offered. We chose spring. Apparently they charge for both of those options so we ended up having to pay $15 extra for it. The meats are great but I'd give the advise to sample small portions or you wont have room to try them all. The salad bar is consistent (the variety of cheeses and peppers, the hearts of palm, tabbouleh, beets, the 2 different types of bean salads and the seasonal fruits) with a soup station (tomato soup - creamy). The baked cheese with honey, mashed potatoes, and the pao are great. The previous items are usually neglected because of the meat! The filet, picanha, ribs (dinner), and lamb chops/picanha are usually the focus. But, it is hard to eat the churrascaria every day. So, you can alternate it with just the market salad bar. First time dining at this location and my experience was a little different than other locations. Staff overall was very nice, especially Ruben for accommodating our larger party size. Unfortunately a few things that knocked off a star - - Half of the meats were extremely salty. I personally enjoy my food a little salty but this was too much - The salad bar was limited with actual salad toppings - Drink orders took forever, even a simple glass of red wine (20+ mins) - We kept having to ask for bread and sides. The individual dropped off one small bowl of cheese bread initially with 4 pieces for a table of 7. Every time we had to make it a point to get 2 or 3 after that Restaurant itself is beautiful, I think the nicest one I've personally been to but the experience could have been better overall. read more

We've been coming to Fogo de Chao for over 20 years for many, many special occasion including celebrating our first born. We've been more disappointed with the service level and food quality. Except the salad bar. The last two times, it was uncomfortable with our special guest that we had to continuously remind the server to bring the house special and filet. We understand the impact of the economy but service/quality can't be bad with the rate being charged. The good news, we found 12 Cuts in Dallas. It reminded us the reason we love Brazilian steak houses. Try 12 Cuts as a better alternative to Fogo and Texas de Brazil. read more

I would love to know who manages this place. We had a reservation for Mother's Day dinner. 7:30 PM. We arrived to what looked like an absolute nightmare of a crowd. The hostess stand was so swamped with angry customers that had been waiting forever to be seated that we couldn't even Check in. People around us were complaining that they had reservations, but we're waiting an hour plus. The hostesses looked absolutely frazzled. They were telling customers they were 45 min behind. I'm pretty sure they even violated the fire code with the amount of people that were packed into the lobby and restaurant. People outside that had dined there said they waited an hour past reservation time and that the food was terrible. Luckily another Brazilian steakhouse up the street had openings and we went there instead to avoid the sinking ship. Really disappointing that a place of this stature wouldn't have it together on one of the busiest days of the year. You clearly overbooked and gave no regard to your customers today. I invited my friend and my wife to Fogo de Chao for lunch buffet. After two rounds they said we cannot have anymore because even though is buffet. We are limited to 1 lbs. I did not know until I ask the server. Buffet means until you satisfy. We did not waste any food. I will not go back to the Fogo de chau at Legacy west in plano anymore. Disaster on Mother's Day. Waited 45 mins with a reservation. Bad way to start. When we started at the salad bar, literally 95% of the clean dishes were dirty with food stuck to them. I definitely recommend this place! Service is a solid five star! They have happy hour all day! The entrees are $5 - $8! The portions are huge! We had the hamburger and it was huge and delicious! The hummus was really good too(we asked for carrot sticks as our substitute for the bread), the saucy chicken had 4 chicken legs (it had a little bit too much sauce)! Normally I love Fogo De Chao. Been to the one in Vegas several times. This location in Plano was our first time, and absolute terrible experience. We sat and waited for our check for over an hour. On top of that, our waitress was MIA. Or should I say she was chatting with the manager and all of the other servers for 30 minutes. I had staff goofing off behind me, hitting my chair... Felt like we had brand new high school students working at a high-end restaurant. Manager was just as guilty and participating in this behavior. I will say- the staff that was walking around serving the various cuts of meat were fantastic and so helpful. One had to ask me, "has your waiter not been around to give you water?" He had to tell the waitress several times to do her job. And no- they were not understaffed. When there was a whole group standing around chatting for half an hour. The hostesses were absolute dolls as well. Want to give them credit as they were great and on top of things. However, if you can avoid this place I'd highly suggest going to 12 Cuts in Dallas over this place. Honestly the vibes were giving Chilli's-- and lord knows I ain't spending big dollars at Chilli's. Sadly, I had to wait a few days to give myself time to reflect on this instead of going full steam ahead with anger. I've been to Fogo de Chao a dozen times, but it's been over a decade (likely more) since i've been. I'm now married with a child, and when my family asked me where I wanted to go for Father's Day, I said, let's check out Fogo, since we had family members who recently went and had a great time! I spend the week talking the place up, how it's a meat eater's dream and people constantly come to your table offering you different cuts. My wife is a pescatarian, so she got the salmon, and my daughter is 5, so there really isn't much she'll want to eat outside of their caprese. So, we sit down to our 5 o clock reservation on Saturday, the day before Father's Day. The server was fine, she took our drink orders, we got our wine and we set off to the Market Table. I settle back and flip the green card and prepare myself. A guy comes by pretty promptly and offers me a very very thin slice of their house specialty, the picanha. Shortly after that, another server comes by and offers some fraldinha, and my daughter loves it! Great! And then we wait. And wait. 20 mins later, someone comes by with some spicy sausage. And we continue to wait. All the while, i'm seeing people come and serve the tables all around us, and none of them stop by ours. I double check and the green card is up and at the very corner of the table, in plain view of anyone who might come near our table. This continues to happen. A guy comes by with sausage to serve the table right next to us. He's standing between my table and the next. He serves them, turns towards ours, and promptly walks away. I turned around and YELLED at him to come back. That's how upset and raging I was. The manager comes by and she tells us she'll make sure more people come by. Nothing. The manager comes by 20 mins later and she asks if things have gotten better. I told her no, but i'm pretty much at the point where I just lost my appetite and I just want to leave. These are the things that were on the "menu" that I did not get to try. UPDATE:05/08/2022 Brought the wife and kiddos for mother's day meal, about 2 months ago we came and it was fabulous, this time around a total opposite, it's truly unbelievable let's start with the service. The worst place place you can be seated is in the area by the street, call it atrium, greenhouse, do not let them seat you there in the summer. No ac and no air, 90 degrees today, so felt very terrible, they opened the windows and all that did was circulate the hot humid air. Our server was terrible truly acted and looked like she did not want to be there, very unattentive. Brought our drinks out and that was the last we saw of here I finished my tea as did my daughter and our server never stopped by to check up on us, had to finally flag another person down to get our drinks refilled, this server was the worst and I have her name on the ticket if management wants it. For 57.00 "Holiday price" I expect good grilled meats what I got were either burnt hard meats, or bloody red meats, now some like the garlic picana was good as was the ribeye, but the rest was garbage. I had to constantly flag people down, even my wife acknowledged this experience was just terrible. This just might be enough to keep me away, not the Mothers day experience I was hoping for. Eh I used to love fogo back in NY but lately its been lackluster. The meats are overly salted its insane, I could literally see tons of salt crystals on every piece. The salad bar has nothing memorable. The fried bananas were so fried they were charred. The one pro was the grilled cheddar cheese drizzled with honey. Excellent service and delicious food with appealing decor! My family and I dined here on Christmas Eve and had a great time. JP (lead server) and Michael K. (floor manager) took EXCELLENT care of us! I've dined at restaurants across the US, in Europe, and Africa and the service we received from these gentlemen and their colleagues is on par with that at Michelin Star restaurants. Very impressive! Updated on the reviews from my last visit. The manager responded to my comment, suggesting I email Fogo feedback to resolve the issues, but they never contacted me back. Perhaps they only respond to public reviews to create the illusion of effort, but they didn't take any action. Paying over $450 for overcooked cheap cuts and poorly prepared fried bananas felt disappointing. Additionally, four out of six of my friends fell ill that night.
