We've been to Fogo de Minas a few times now and have enjoyed lunch and dinner here as dates, as well as with friends and family. This is a smaller Brazilian Steakhouse, but they definitely hit the marks when it comes to delivering a full experience. They're located in a group of businesses off of Gateway Oaks Drive and El Camino. There is plenty of parking available and you can stop in with or without a reservation. They're open for dinner Sunday through Thursday and for lunch and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. On the days they offer lunch they have a quick reset before dinner where they close and get ready for the next service. They offer a hot food and salad bar as well as full rodizio options and non-alcoholic drinks as well as beer and wine options. When we come we order the full rodizio and I love ordering their passionfruit blended juice. They'll start you off with some cooked plantains and pao de queijo at the table and you can grab a plate at the salad bar. The salad bar has much more than salad though- there are veggies, olives, cheeses, pastas and more. I typically grab some tomatoes, olives and grab some chimichurri to dip my meat into before heading back for the main attraction- the meat. The staff is very friendly and they are very attentive when it comes to making sure you have the opportunity to enjoy all the meats offered. There's a good variety and if you let them know your preferred cook they'll make sure to have cuts that are to your taste. I prefer medium rare, while my husband prefers medium/medium well and they were really great at keeping that in mind. My favorite cuts are the beef rib, picanha, garlic steak and pineapple. I always start by saying yes to almost everything and then get more selective as I get full. The cuts are so flavorful right off the grill though, so pace yourself and enjoy them hot instead of letting them sit on your plate. The staff is happy to come back around with your favorites. They offer desserts and they are really good- but typically I'm so full by the time we're done that I don't want to even look at food until the next day. This is the type of place you come to for celebrations or when you're really craving meat. It's always a treat when we stop by.

Picahna Medium Rare + Grilled Pineapples. What else do you need from a legit Churrascarria??

I'm a bit torn on writing this review. My heart wants to give them a 5 star rating but after tonight's experience, I have to lean more towards a 4.2 rating. Let me list all of the pros and cons from tonight's experience. Full disclosure, this is probably my 7th or 8th time dining here since 2022. Pros: Their meat selection is 5 star quality all the way. The Brazilian pork sausage tastes exactly how it's supposed to. Their rib eye steak is great! But most importantly, their picahna is perfect! If and when they bring it out with your preferred cook level - OMG every Churrascarria fan can stay loyal and dedicated to this place just because of the picahna. The salt profile is perfectly found all over the fat line, and its just so so good and perfect. My head was bobbing to the rhythmic flavors that were drumming all over my taste buds. Fogo de Minas; you guys are so good with the seasoning and the meat quality. Another strength is their grilled pineapple! So so good!! OMG. Take a slice of that pineapple and clip it onto your medium to medium rare picahna and you have lift off!! [Rocket ship emoji] happy face happy face *drool *drool emoji. Cons: Salad bar is a bit on the weaker selection side. Their feijoada needs improvement. And it took a very long time for the picahna to come out. Bring it out faster with a medium rare cook level for the carnivores who are very hungry and this place will be a solid 4.7. If they improve their feijoada and broaden the salad bar a bit, this place would be 5.0 stars all day!! Please have grace on the photo attached. Plate is very messy (I was feeding my two toddlers) but once the picahna came out (medium rare), I had to take a picture to show you guys! It's perfect.

Came here for an early valentines dinner and it did not disappoint. I love how small and intimate this Brazilian steakhouse was. I'm used to going to the bigger ones like Espetus and Fogo de Chao in SF but you occasionally get skipped at the bigger restaurants. I also liked that they asked us how we like our meat cooked and made sure to clarify how the meat was cooked every time it was offered to us. My favorite cuts were the ribeye, flank steak, lamb chop, and picanha. I'm on keto so this was the perfect place for me to eat without worrying. The bacon wrapped meats did have a tomato sauce on it so those were the only ones I stayed away from. My plate looks so messy with the chimichurri because they ran out of the little sauce cups at the time but the sauce cups wouldn't have been enough chimichurri for me anyways LOL but yes the chimichurri here was pretty good.

AWARENESS: My daughter asked we take her to a Brazilian Steak House for her birthday. Since San Jose is too far and based on the positive Yelp reviews, we decided to dine her at Fogo de Minas for lunch. NARRATIVE: Even though we made reservations, we really didn't need them. When the doors opened for lunch, our party of three were second in the door and seated right away. Our server was quick to take our drink orders and explain how things worked as far as the Buffett goes. He also explained the "red light, green light" cards on the table and how it worked. The only surprise I noted was Fogo de Minas only sells Beers, Wine and Champaigns. No hard stuff is available or offered at the restaurant. The Buffett - Not huge but plentiful. Lots of fresh greens and fruits, not so munch on the seafood side. The Food - Lots of perfectly cooked steaks, lamb, chicken and pork items. The best in taste goes to their fire roasted pineapple; I just couldn't get enough. Best of all. It keeps on coming as long as you're hungry. SCENE: Fogo de Minas is located in the rear, back corner of a strip-mall in the South end of Natomas. Not a huge place but they do a great job in lighting and making a great Brazilian atmosphere. Service was outstanding and again, the food was awesome! RECOMMENDATION(S): I'm glad my daughter wanted to try this place. They now have friends for life.

As long as you have this sign up on your table, you will get procession of guys offering all the meat you can handle

I've never had Brazilian Barbacoa before. Guys are very professional and very polite. I got the salad bar (veggies, cheese, pork, beans, rice) and my wife got all you can eat meat. They have over 30 different kinds and cuts of meat. If you like meat, you are in paradise here. They have more meat than you can handle.

Wonderful service and ambiance, and delicious food. Fogo de Minas is smaller than other Brazilian steakhouses I've gone to, which I liked because it didn't feel as crowded or overwhelming. All the employees were very kind and fast, and we had no problem making requests for specific cuts. Picanha, ribeye, and lamb chops were my favorite! Very tender, well-seasoned but not overly-salty, and they do a great job of giving you your preferred temperature. Their salad bar is self-serve and comes with a good assortment of sides. They have a nice variety of dessert and came out with a tray to showcase all their various desserts - we went with their lava cake with strawberry icecream, though I definitely want to try their flan next time! So glad we only live 5 mins away - this was our first (though certainly not last) visit for dinner! :-)

Delicious Brazilian food and drinks. Good borers of meats and salad bar options. Delicious bananas and pão de queijo as starters. I always request chicken hearts and they have it

It was a birthday celebration, and the request was simple: Brazilian steak. The problem? It was Valentine's Day weekend, and nearly every restaurant was booked. Except this one. The catch? Outdoor seating. In winter. We showed up right at opening, and it was already packed--a good sign. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and they got the outdoor heaters going right away. Still, we were nervous. At first, no meat was coming out, and we started second-guessing everything. Did they forget us? Was this a mistake? Just as regret began to creep in, the magic started. Skewers upon skewers of perfectly grilled meats arrived in an endless parade. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and exactly what we had hoped for. By the end, we were full, happy, and completely satisfied. They forgot the birthday cake at first, but a quick reminder had it in front of us within seconds. Small hiccup, but nothing that beat the experience. Great food. Great service. A hidden gem that delivered when others couldn't. Would we come back? ABSOLUTELY. Shoutout to Brenda & Isaac!!

The dining experience was exceptional. We started our meal with yummy cheesy breads and fried banana. The meat was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and offered in a delightful variety. All the meat, shrimp, and chicken hearts went well with the fried pineapple which was sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar (we think). The service was outstanding, with both the servers and the owner being attentive, welcoming, and friendly. The ambiance was also very pleasant. We will definitely come back here!

Unfortunately, no. According to their Instagram post late July :( They closed back up

Is there non meat options like shrimp?

Not really. It's a super meaty kind of place. There is a limited salad bar for veggie options but would not be worth the price ($30-$60 pp) you have to pay unless you do by the pound option at lunch.

Do they charge for kids? If so how much and what age?

I think is half the price for kids 6-12. I'm not sure but, I think that is how it goes

We will serve Grilled Salmon at dinner, for Mother’s Day Weekend, May 11 & 12. Thank you!

I wanted to view what's available for lunch but the menu only shows prices, desserts, and drinks. Where can I view what is available for lunch?

Hello! Thank you for your question. Lunch is by pound, $ 9.95 / pound. We have full salad bar, hot dishes and meats as Chicken Parmesan, Top Sirloin, Tri Tip, Leg Lamb, Chicken Legs, Pork Sausage and Por Shoulder. Thank you!

    Is there Brazilian cheese bread?

Yes! There is, only dinner time!

Do we need to make reservations? If not how long is the wait?

Not required but I strongly recommend it. They are new and gaining in popularity and a pretty small venue. We were there about a month ago and waited about an hour without reservations.… Read more

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

Since we are from Los Angeles area had never been here before. Will definitely come back when we are in the area.
