The sandwich of course always comes with a side of sweet pickles. The caesar salad dressing was very zesty and was particularly strong for my taste. I would not get the caesar dressing again. Their cookies are not great. Sandwiches are good. Probably would not recommend anything else. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but beware of bugs if you sit outside. Indoor seating is limited. You also may have to wait in line if you go during lunch time. There is only street parking out front, but there is a small parking lot one block down. However, it was full when I went. Prices are fair for portions and what you get. Menu has a lot of good options. Overall, I'd give it at 7.5/10. Recommend if you're looking for a light, quick meal! read more

Every time I come here, they're extremely quick and prompt with service. The interior is so cute, almost like a little cottage with checker board tables around. My wife found this place and we came by on Saturday morning to eat on my way to a gig in the Hill Country. I had a Gypsy Grove while my wife had the Chicken Special. Amazing sandwhiches and great house pickles. Prices are absurdly cheap--it's like going to Subway, but same price gets you a 5-star sandwhich, cool vibe and atmodphere, eclectic seating--plenty outside shaded oe with fans or on the porch...it's literally a winner, winner chicken dinner. My bread was phenomenal, and the jalapeno relish was perfect...even had a nice coffee to start while we kicked back out front. This place is my new go-to for a cheap meal when I want to sit and relax and inhale life over the crazy brunch crowds elsewhere that are over-priced and take forever. I got the chimichurri steak sandwich and it was so yummy! The steak was super flavorful and juicy and I loved that they added feta on the sandwich. I also loved the cucumbers they give you on the side, adds a nice bite. My friend got the special chicken sandwich which looked beautiful and she said was it was great. I had heard so many good reviews of FoodHeads, but, unfortunately, Saturday afternoon is NOT the time to go. Parking in front of the restaurant, as well as their lot is completely full. The line snakes out the door and the restaurant is packed with people, making for a noisy and chaotic atmosphere. Service is order at the counter - and we ordered a variety of sandwiches and salads for our group. The food all tasted relatively fresh - and good. However, to fully enjoy, I wouldn't recommend dining in - possibly a good time to take out and eat elsewhere. We ordered ahead so the sandwiches were about 5 minutes ready before we got there (take that with a grain of salt) so the bread was a bit soggy from the deliciousness inside. Each sandwich comes with a cucumber onion salad which was a great sweet and fresh break from the warm and savory sandwich. Kind of wished we ordered there because the specials that weren't on the website looked BOMB. Staff was very nice and the place itself had an inviting vibe - one that I could see myself enjoying for a longer period of time with a coffee and my laptop or book. This was my first visit to FoodHeads. While the restaurant is not super big, they did manage to utilize their space well and create indoor and outdoor seating. My party and I arrived in the afternoon when it was scorching hot and we had to sit outside because of the indoor tables being taken. Outside they have picnic tables with some hung tarps for some shade over them. They also had fans and misters going so it all helped. I was feeling a sandwich and decided to order the "Chicken and Eggplant Sandwich." It was realllly good. Got this place recommended by a friend and I'll definitely be back. The hot pastrami sandwich was fire. The deli mustard gave enough twang to compliment the pastrami. Bread had a perfect toast on there good enough where the sandwich maintained its texture throughout the entire thing. Melty cheese. It did come with a side of like a thousand island dressing but I didn't use too much of it because the mustard and juices from pastrami gave the sandwich enough moisture. Thousand island would've drowned out the sandwich. I will say it took about 25 min from ordering until I got my sandwich so if you're in a hurry it would be smart to order online ahead of time. Foodheads has been on my list of places to try for a while now but I don't often find myself in the area for lunch. When we arrived (12:30 on a Saturday) there was a line out the door and plenty of people seated around the lawn area enjoying their food. The wait staff was bringing food out and calling patrons by name to deliver their lunch. Despite the long line, things seemed to be moving quickly and my boyfriend found a seat while I waited to order. It took about 20 minutes to get to the front of line, however it was just enough time to read over their pretty large menu and decide on our order! I felt that they offered a pretty good variety of options and different style sandwiches. While in line watching the previous orders come out I noticed that all of the sandwiches looked really yummy and had fairly large portions for a 'deli-sandwich' especially for the price points - most sandwiches on the menu were between $8-13 each. We settled on the Apple Pork Sandwich and the Old School Brisket Sandwich with a side Zapps chips. Our food came out at 1:15 right around 20 minutes after we ordered. Both of our sandwiches were large and very filling! The Apple Pork Sandwich was very fresh and light but still so filling, lots of complex flavors that were very well balanced. The apple slaw had some onion in it but was not over powering! The grilled tenderloin was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I also was pleasantly surprised by the ciabatta which was very moist and airy - often times I find that ciabatta has a pretty hard crust/shell around it which hurts my mouth personally. I only ended up finishing half of this sandwich and was satisfied. The Old School Brisket Sandwich was really yummy as well. My boyfriend claimed this one but I stole a bite to report back! The brisket was very nicely done, extremely flavorful and tender. The smoked flavor was not overpowering and there was an impressive serving of meat on the sandwich! Overall the environment was busy, a but loud but very welcoming and inviting. It felt very homey and casual, perfect for a Saturday afternoon sandwich! Prices were extremely fair and despite being consistently busy there was plenty of seating and service was timely! We did not find a private lot for parking and theres not a ton of street parking space available so I would say thats the only downside here! read more

First of all, the place is very cute, it has a great vibe, great menu, and great-looking food. The girl behind the counter was quite pleasant and helpful. It seemed to be quite popular with most of the tables filled at lunch. You place your order at the counter, then help yourself to silverware, napkins, and fill up the cup they give you for iced tea and chose your own seating. Your food is brought out to you. When you are finished you clear your table and sort out the garbage, recyclables, and plate into appropriate containers. It's a system that works well in a lot of casual places. We had great expectations, but once the food arrived that completely fell apart. My wife ordered the hot pastrami sandwich. With the first bite all of the interior parts squirted out. And out came several slices of pastrami that had an inch wide strip of pure fat the full length of each slice. I tried a bite of the pastrami; it was literally the toughest meat I have eaten in a very long time and did not really taste like pastrami. It was actually hard to chew. It came with a little container of a pink sauce which was more or less tasteless, and some pickles which were sliced paper thin making them hard to taste. On the whole, it was a real disaster in the world of sandwiches. But, had the pastrami been good, it would have been a pretty good sandwich. I ordered a salad nicoise with ahi tuna. The tuna was seared to the right temperature, but it had a very strong seasoning on both sides that left a bad, lingering taste in your mouth. It also had a strange texture that made me wonder if it had been marinated or preserved in something. The taste and texture of the tuna ruined the entire salad. The blackboard menu description of the salad said it included anchovies, green beans, capers, and hard cooked egg. It actually had a single white anchovy filet (not the usual salt-cured anchovies), no capers, no green beans, and one-half of a hard cooked egg with a yolk that was barely cooked but with a strange texture, not a creamy undercooked texture. The Dijon vinaigrette was pretty good and the greens were fresh. It was a very disappointing salad nicoise. Finally, it seemed to be pretty expensive. The sandwich, a bag of potato chips, the salad and two iced teas came to $46.30 including a 10% tip. read more
