Really good service at this cozy little shop. I went in looking for a pair of Australian Woollamoloos because my sweetie really liked the pair he bought there. They were out of my size but they ordered in a pair from another location and called me just a couple of days later to let me know they were in. Fred was super helpful on my first visit, and when I went back Claudia checked out the fit (perfect) and showed me two different ways to secure the elastic laces. The vibe in the store is cheerful and the selection is good. Prices are pretty standard for the brands (Merrell, Birkenstock, Mephisto, Kizik etc), no big Los Gatos markup. They had some sale items but none that spoke to me. Also picked up a cute leather coin purse on sale for ten bucks at the counter, so that was a good outing. Would definitely recommend. read more

IMHO I was pretty sure I had a $20 loyalty reward burning a hole in my wallet but didn't remember when it expired, so the first thing I did when I entered the store was to ask Claudia! She looked up my information and confirmed that my $20 reward was still available, but it expired in two days! "I'm shopping!" as I headed straight to their sale section! I knew exactly what I was looking for, my favorite Vionic sandals! I grabbed a pair in my size and tried them on. Left sandal felt great, right sandal tight around the top strap. It was uncomfortable enough that I asked Claudia if I could order another pair online. She checked to make sure they were available and they were! Claudia made sure to stack the discounts for me! My Vionics were already $30 off on sale, minus a 15% catalog coupon, and lastly my $20 reward coupon, plus free shipping (when ordered in-store), made for a great deal for me! Thank you, Claudia! As we left the store, we noticed a big box of collected used sneakers for "Sneaker Impact", which "provides recycled footwear in developing nations while supporting entrepreneurship, improving quality of life, creating lasting economic impact and reducing waste in landfills." I've been to many specialty shoe stores, but my experience at Footwear Etc. in Los Gatos was exceptional. The staff was super helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. They worked with me to find the right shoe, even ordered a pair they didn't have in stock, and never pressured me into buying anything. What really stood out was how attentive they were -- actually helping me try on the shoes, checking the fit, tying the laces, and making sure everything felt just right. You don't see that kind of personalized service anymore! Highly impressed and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this store! Parking around the store is tricky. You might have to park in one of the open or underground parking lots and walk to the store. read more

If I were to get shoes for running and walking, this is the place. Not only will they service you like a king and queen but they will make sure you have the proper shoes on. My mom and I spent quite some time shopping for shoes at Footwear Etc in Los Gatos. I was impressed by the customer service we received. Claudia was fantastic. I have been a customer of Footwear, Etc. for over 10 years. My husband and I have bought several pairs of shoes there. I have recently been visiting the Los Gatos store and have had trouble fitting shoes because of bunions. Today I had a TOTAL SHOCK there, when they basically refused help to me, even though I need new shoes badly and can pay for them. I have not gotten over this extremely ROUGH TREATMENT and cannot even comprehend this. This is unlike any other shoe store that I've been to-the customer service was excellent. Ben was knowledgeable, attentive, and overall helpful in setting me up with a great pair. He guided me through using the foot analysis machine, then measured my feet manually, and assisted me in trying on a couple of pairs. Count me as another happy customer of Footwear Etc. My podiatrist prescribed some inserts for my shoes. She handed me the Rx which listed various Footwear Etc. locations in the area. Since I live near the Los Gatos area, I went to the Los Gatos store. I wasn't expecting much from a shoe store. Once I walked in I was greeted by Caesar who took my prescription and assisted me with getting the shoe inserts. I was completely blown away by Caesars knowledge, experience and customer service skills. He knew my model of shoes without even looking close at them. Not only did he provide an excellent insert fitting experience for me, I'm so blown away that I will not purchase shoes anywhere other then Famous Etc., even if the shoes cost more at their location (which I would doubt). I haven't had that type of retail customer engagement experience in probably over 20 years. In this world of click-and-buy, I would gladly pay more money to support a "local" brick and mortar store with incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Amazing service and staff. I tried on a pair of Densko shoe, and needed size 36. Chris checked the computer and found there was only 1 pair left and it needed to be shipped from San Diego. It took more than a week for the shop staff to hunt for the right shoe. During the week, Chris called to keep me updated about the delivery time. It was worth the wait. I walked into this store to look for a new pair of shoes. I was just so surprised with the services I received from both Seth and Caesar. First they treated like a VIP, far exceeded my expectations. Both Seth and Caesar are so knowledgeable about shoes, and the special needs of people with flat feet. They explained so well to me the differences between different models of shoes and recommended the right model specifically for my feet. They spent so much time with me, and brought me at least 5 or 6 pairs of different models of shoes for me to try on, helping me to get proper shoe fit. They were not pushing me to buy any shoes at all. At the end, Caesar helped me get the right pair of shoes for my feet. Visited this store last week and could not have been happier with the service I received, or the product that I bought. Worked extensively with Claudia, and also spoke with Mark a bit. Claudia is knowledgeable, friendly, patient and willing to take the time to put just the right combination of shoe and orthotic together. Putting the right type of shoes on my feet has made all the difference; Mark noted as he watched me walk about the store, that my posture immediately improved. Gone was the pain in my knee and my lower back, and I spent the rest of the afternoon in disbelief over the immediate improvement that I felt. Unexpected benefit: My feet are no longer cramping at night from being stuck shoes that don't fit correctly all day. I can once again consider taking my longer walks and just enjoy moving! Fun selection. Sadly very expensive & even with doctors recommendations the salesman felt he knew better, He rushed me through the machine measurement. I am a Roman with a wide foot & a hand disability. He said he had no women's athletic black shoes in my size with no laces. He kept dismissing my questions. When I needed a min to think & told him I would come back after thinking about it... he said, 'have a nice life', I felt really disappointed and beware of salesMAN knowing better than you or your doctor do for your feet. There is more, however, I hope this is a wake up call. I plan to use another location. Sad. *update*. Company rep responded; thank you, however, another location or company is being considered. Gone were the days where personal shopping experience is part of the service. But please shop here and you'll know! I came in to check if this store has something for me. I badly needed shoes for a wedding reception. They were about to close but the gentleman was so patient in helping me try some shoes. It is a service where they really put your shoes on to try. A few days ago I was with REI and they left me with 4 sets of shoes to try and I was in dilemma trying to decide and in the end I left all the shoes. But here, he stayed with me and explained everything. I ended up buying 2 sets and told him I'd come back for the hiking shoes. I came back 2 days later and bought the shoes. I don't really even need the slip ons and wasn't even sure I would really come back but I did and he remembered me.
