So just got to town and looked up some restaurants in the area and this was it! Ordered the New England clam chowder to start and the catch of the day. Both were delicious but the Alaskan halibut was the best, very moist and paired with a rich sauce and green beans. Oh and the prices are very fair and the service was great. Overall perfect choice for our first night in town.

I always love my experience at Fords. They have a variety of food options, portions are large so I feel like I get a good amount for my dollar, and they always have the games going. It's just an easy laid back spot with awesome service. We came on a Sunday afternoon and sat at their bar high tops which are actually comfy! I typically don't like sitting at the bar if the seating sucks, but I don't mind here. We ordered the: Farrow salmon salad 10/10 Ribs & lobster tail 10/10 Rocket shrimp 7/10 Previous visits my go to is the crab cake or scallops Overall I'll keep coming back!

Came with a work Group. Everyone enjoyed their food. For appetizers we had bruschetta, calamari, oysters. All had high remarks. The entrees consisted of the Cod, Lobstah Toll, Lobstah Salad, Fish and chips. Everyone really liked their entrees as well except the. Fish and chips. She felt it tasted off and different from other times she's ordered it. I ordered the bread pudding dessert and it was really good. I would return. Service was awesome too!

This was my first visit to Ashford Virginia and I am so happy that I found Fords fish shack. It is a family friendly restaurant with a full bar. The atmosphere was very lively I got there at about 630pm and there was no wait. I was seated at a booth. The food was phenomenal. I have nothing but good things to say about the food for appetizers. I started with the calamari which had a lobster reduction sauce, and I also had the deviled eggs which had a candied pecan on top of it. it was so good. I ate all four. I didn't share it with anyone . For my dinner, I went with the Connecticut lobster roll corn on the cob and a chopped salad. My friends had the surf and turf, which was a steak and a crabcake. They also had a fried fish basket and shrimp tacos all of which were 10 out of 10. The service was incredible. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. He greeted us upon entry, took our drink orders immediately, and our appetizers was spaced accordingly with our entrées. This will definitely be my new go to spot when I'm back in the Ashburn Virginia area. I was very happy. I can't wait to try the other things on the menu.

HH Oysters - delicious, with the perfect balance of sweet and briny. Fish & Chips - plump and meaty, with a perfectly seasoned, crispy batter. Fish Tacos - made with cod (stop, my heart!). Most places use mahi mahi or tilapia, but the cod was absolutely delicious. Which I prefer anyway! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Left happy, full, and already planning my next visit!

I got the fish and chips($22) and it came out in about 15 minutes. The fries and fish had an excellent batter and was served very hot and fresh. The fish was moist, flaky, and seasoned well. Tartar sauce was also quite good. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean and had cool decor. Overall a really good lunch experience, I would definitely come back again! On our way to Lisbon, Portugal today (flight tonight) we stopped at Ford Fish Shack. This is our second time here, and the food is awesome! The espresso martinis are made with Baileys, which was a little sweet for our taste. We told the bartender how to make a "manmosa," which is really Absolut vodka, Champagne, and a splash of either orange juice, cranberry, or pomegranate. He had never heard of that but willing to ask the bartender. The bartender made one for us, and it was absolutely delicious--just as we would find in most places in Hampton Roads. Anyway, we had the blackened shrimp, which was also delicious, along with a side of blackened scallops. They should really consider making "blackened scallop tacos" because they were incredibly good! Our waiter, a young guy named Nelson, was very pleasant and attentive. He made the whole experience wonderful. We asked for several things that weren't customary at this establishment, but he was able to either ask the chef or the bartender to make it happen for us. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you're in town, driving through, or simply passing by, stop by and say hello to them. I am even suggesting they ADD "manmosa" to their menu and call it a "DenMosa." ... again gave Nelson my recipe. Hopefully, they'll consider it! This place is wonderful.

Altogether fantastic place for dinner! Service was very pleasant, and the fish tacos were the best I've ever had. Zesty and fresh with each bite! My friend loved the Maine chips and thought they had something interesting in every bite. The Devilish Good Eggs were spicier than I reckoned for, but we still finished them. The only reason the review is for four stars rather than five is that the sample I had of Lobstah Bisque was much saltier than I thought it should have been. And our water glasses ran empty while we were dining. I would still visit again next time I'm in Ashburn. I recently tried fish tacos at another place in DC, and they didn't measure up to the ones at Ford's.

Pretty good first time outing. Easy parking out front and quickly seated. Sufficient draft beer list. New server forgot our $2 basket of six mini cornbread muffins with homey butter. $10.50 a la carte crab cake was warm and a fair deal, but had no lumps in it. Daughter enjoyed her Mainer Roll with fried clams spilling out over the top of a lobster roll. Grilled corn on the cob made for a nice presentation. Oyster BLT Wedge was pretty good. Oysters were tender if a bit salty. Oyster Shooter was pretty good and good value at $7.

When we moved to NOVA 18 years ago, this quickly became our go to for date nights and special occasions. Yummy seafood with great appetizers and enjoyable environment. HOWEVER... the last few visits o could see a decline. I didn't want to believe it. But this past visit I ordered ca bowl of clam chowder. When the half full bowl of Luke warm soup arrived I was starving. I could barely taste the clams over the tin can flavor. It was so strong I asked if they made it in house. When I asked about it the waiter was less than happy to explain that "of course we make it in house". The lobster salad, another favorite, looked like it had gone on a diet... a shadow of its former glory but still costing $$$$$. The shrimp appetizer was still yummers. That being said, a bowl of soup, a salad and some shrimp cost us 100.00 after tip. This will be the last visit to the once great FFS.

Omgoodness. Amazing amazing. My husband and I come here when we are craving really good seafood, for a reasonable price and guaranteed to be delicious. Their service is spot on with super down to earth servers and their fish is one of the best I've ever had in my life. I have yet to state "in my life" in any of my reviews so this place is a must try! Good job guys! read more

Fords is by far my favorite seafood restaurant in the area. I've been many times for their happy hour which is fantastic. Great selection of draft beers, delicious $1 oysters and amazingly delicious peel-and-eat shrimp. Everything we ever ordered here was so tasty, fresh and finger licking good. Some items include the fried cod, lobster, chilled lobster claws, fries, corn, ribs, bruschetta, lobster roll and their delicious tarter sauce. The desserts are also very good. The food, service, ambiance, and their management that are always willing to accommodate any requests, earn this place a 5 star rating. They are expanding and currently have 3 different locations. Here's a tip for you: on Mondays ALL of their oysters are $1 during happy hour. read more

Dollar oysters on Monday nights!!! Ford's never fails for bring out really fresh oysters! Succulent and so good! I had the Lobster roll platter and it was simple perfection. The corn cob and the fries are such great accompaniments. We also order the angry mussels. Another staple and again as good as the last time. Special shout out the mini cornbread. Yes yes yes!!! I love those things! My favorite drink at this location is the blueberry mojito. Ford's is Ashburn's best! read more

The food is always incredible. The seafood is prepared very well, never overdone. I love having their spinach and crab omelets for weekend brunch. The staff is amazing - friendly and on top of refills and checking on visitors regularly. The wait times haven't been very long, and we loved patronizing them over the pandemic to keep them alive. Food is delicious - always. But I got the wrong curbside pick-up order because their online order menu didn't match what they were actually offering for the day. Just my luck, I hated the actual order I received and never would've ordered it if their online menu was correct. This is definitely a FWP, but I'm not rich and $23 for lunch is a major splurge for me. On Fri, 6-26, their online menu through TableUp said the market fish of the day was grilled halibut, served with a chimichanga and poblano cream sauce. I'm from Southern California, so I jumped on this because I love halibut and especially love Mexican-themed food. Returned home to Herndon and saw grilled halibut, but no chimichanga and no poblano cream sauce. Instead, there was (I think) cauliflower mashed potatoes, which I hate, and a lemon sauce with capers, and of course I hate capers. Lemon sauce is usually delish, but not when you drive from Herndon salivating over chimichanga and poblano cream sauce. I called the restaurant and a young male answered, sounding harried. I told him what happened and repeated at least twice how disappointed I was and that I never would've ordered it if I'd known it came with cauliflower mashed potatoes and lemon caper sauce. For $23 for the lunch entree, I expected him to refer my call to the manager, but before I could ask for the manager myself, he said, "Oh, yeah, that was yesterday's special, thanks for letting us know, we'll change the online menu," -- and hung up. I worked in restaurants for 10 years. It is the easiest and most necessary thing in the world to fix a fucked up order. You apologize, you offer a refund or restaurant credit, and ask if there's anything else you can do to make it right. Maintaining good will in this industry is essential b/c there are so many other options for customers and b/c you don't want a customer to ever leave the encounter with a bad vibe, feeling like money and time were wasted, and that you don't know if you can trust them to get it right next time. And this was their fuck-up. Their menu was wrong, and payment was taken in exchange for something else. I've been supporting local restaurants as best I can through the COVID nightmare, and I appreciate immensely those who've stayed open to risk themselves to feed people like me. But if the new processes or rules are making it hard to maintain restaurant operations, then it's probably time to figure out a different way to do it. It's frustrating to throw away a bunch of perfectly good food, and to do a 20-mile roundtrip drive, and to splurge financially on a lunch that ends up fizzling -- all b/c of a simple technical issue or someone forgetting the menu update. read more

This is the place for dinner in the area. Anytime I'm going to be around the Dulles airport, I stop for dinner here. Time and time again this is the best seafood with the best service you can find. My last visit I got the Mahi Mahi with the potato's. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. They can get busy, but that's what you expect fro such a great restaurant! This place is now my new favorite seafood spot! I came here with my family on New Year's Eve and I'm glad we called ahead to make a reservation. We came in about 15 minutes prior to our reservation and they were jam packed! I checked in and asked how long the wait was and see if they can seat us earlier but the lady at the front said we'd have to be seated closer to the time of our reservation. It was fine since we came in early but there's not a lot of places to wait around and it was cold outside even though they had a heater out there. Nevertheless, we busied ourselves looking at other people's food and enjoyed the cool chalkboard designs and nautical decorations all around. When it got a little past 6:30 (which is when our actual reservation was), they got us seated pretty quickly. Our server Valerie, told us the specials and took our order right away. She also gave us some delicious warm bread which we devoured. We ordered the Maine chips with lobster (For more or large) and the Smoked Salmon bruschetta. They were both very delicious and had blue cheese or maybe feta in the other. We also ordered a couple of Manhattan drinks which were very tasty and had the black cherry in the bottom. For our main dish, we had the Salmon with green beans and mashed potatoes, Lobster Roll with calamari, fries and corn on the cob, fish tacos with fries and guacamole, and the Scallops with Penne. They were all very delicious. We couldn't decide which was was the best because they were all different and they were very tasty in their own way. We were very full after the main dish but we still had a couple of desserts- a Boston creme pie with chocolate ganache and strawberry drizzle and the blueberry pie with cinnamon ice cream. The blueberry pie was very delicious. Not that the Boston creme pie was bad but the pie and the ice cream went well together. We will definitely have to come back. They looked like there were pretty good deals during happy hour. I highly recommend! read more

Visited again in our never ending project to buy tile and remodeling fixtures in the area. This time found the fried oysters awesome whether in a sub or basket. If you like a thin French fry, this place has perfected. Lobster roll abundant. But again, it is the people who are super nice. Just a totally great place. Could not ask for more. read more

I've been here multiple times and it never quite disappoints. Food is always great. I'd recommend the oysters, they are always fresh. Oysters are $1 on Mondays. They can get a little sandy but great texture and flavor and they are $1! Cornbread is another favorite of mine. It tastes like the movie theater is in your mouth. You don't know what I'm talking about, you just gotta try it. Fishes are good too. I like the salmon and fish and chips. Apparently their lobster rolls are wonderful too. The only thing that I have tried there that I don't like was the lobster bisque. It was waaaaaaaay too salty. But other than that, everything is great everytime. It is a very safe bet if you are trying to impress someone but are also somewhat on a budget. read more

I had the Fish Tacos and the food was decent. No wow factor or anything like that but it was ok to eat. Service was slow but can't complain much as I only saw a couple of servers for the entire area. They did their best to serve everyone in a timely manner. read more

Awesome place for delicious seafood! Some of my favorites here include: Lobster roll (Connecticut Style) - one of the better lobstah rolls I've had with decent amount of meaty lobster and hot butter! Angry Mussels - even though it's under the appetizers, 1 lb is enough as an entree for one and two lbs is enough as an entree for two! amazing creamy golden sauce that I love to dip the grilled bread in, or scoop with my mussel shells. fish & chips - cute presentation with the "newspaper" of flaky white fish that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I've had a little bit of everything here and it doesn't hurt to order the seafood dish that you like. The complimentary cornbread is delicious with actual corn and is perfect with the butter. Combine your seafood with beer or a unique soda and it's a great night out! read more

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat out at in Ashburn. We moved away a few years ago, popped back in tonight for some of the deviled eggs, fish tacos, shrimp tacos and lobster bisque. EVERYTHING was overly salty and spicy. My lips were on fire after eating eggs! My mouth was like the Sahara after one taco and two bites of soup. Neither my husband or I ate more than 10% of our entire meal. The waitress was very nice but she didn't even ask us why we had left our entire meal still sitting on the table. I fear that this once loved restaurant has now taken a turn. Maybe it was just a bad night for the chef? I hope so. read more

Never fails to amaze. Everything I've tried on the menu has always been amazing. The fried lobster tail, the cajun seafood pasta, the rock fish. Definitely a go to for a nice meal in the area. parking is tough to find so get ahead of the rush to find parking and a table. read more

If you make a reservation here or any other Fords for that matter, take it with a grain of salt, because they will not honor RESERVATIONS. It's a waste of time even making the reservation because they WILL NOT HONOR IT. We made a reservation for a specified time. Arrived 5 minutes early. Had to wait additional 30 minutes to be seated. AND we were not seated in a booth that we originally asked for. If you plan to make a RESERVATION for this place, don't bother, it will not be honored. read more

I rarely venture to this side of town. I was in the area to support a friend who ran a half marathon. After her victory, everybody was hungry like we all ran too. Lol She chose this spot a week prior because of its raving reviews. We arrived slightly earlier than our reservation and they were still able to accommodate us. We were the first group to arrive when the restaurant open. This place reminds me of a combination of Red Lobster and Coastal Flats. Fresh seafood and variety of options for brunch, lunch and dinner. Breakfast options includes fish & eggs, corn flakes french toast and eggs, spinach and crab meat omelette. Lunch options include crab cake sandwiches, seafood baskets, fish tacos and sandwich rolls (lobster roll, clam roll and shrimp roll). They also offer raw items like shrimp, crabs, lobster claws and oysters. Our server Richard was attentive and friendly. He even let me call him Rich. He provided the specials and offered recommendations. We ordered fish tacos (some substituted regular fries for sweet potato fries), shrimp rolls, corn flake french toast, egg/spinach/crab meat omelette and a cod special of the day. No one was dissatisfied with their meal. I actually really enjoyed mine. I ordered the shrimp roll that came with fried shrimp on a lightly toasted bun with spicy remoulade sauce, cole slaw (mayo base) and a side of fries. I substituted my fries for grilled corn. This portion was just the right amount of shrimp and food. Now, the reason for 2 stars was because we found hair in our food not once but TWICE. One time in the butter for the corn muffins and the other instance inside my friend's fish tacos. She was disgusted but not rude about it. She didn't make a scene and her father addressed the manager. The manager apologized to the entire table. This shouldn't have been discovered twice. Not sure if the cooks have on hair nets but it should become a requirement. You would think that would deter the experience. However it didn't. The restaurant was apologetic and comp'd the bill which made the experience not so bad. Still unacceptable but I hope that take steps in preventing this for future or returning customers. Don't worry we still tipped the waiter because the service by Richard was amazing. He was more upset that it happened than we were. It showed how passionate and dedicated he was to provide the best service. I won't say I won't go back but maybe I'll try another location first. Again, the food was still good. read more

I came here for lunch after many recommendations from friends and I was absolutely blown away! My cocktail was expertly mixed and the seafood was so fresh, it tasted like it came fresh from the ocean! Like someone dipped a net in the water and served it to me right then and there. We ordered the Short seafood tower and a few other items and I was just so impressed with the presentation and the assorted condiments that accompanied the dish. I wish I could remember our server's name because she was amazing! Very informative when we had questions and super friendly. Definitely a professional. If anyone is reading this- we came in on a Wednesday at 1pm and sat near the front to the right, so please tell whomever was serving us that she is AMAZING and please thank her for me! I think if you are looking for a local red lobster experience this might be the place for you. However if you're looking for good seafood and creativity, this isn't where you'd find the most bang for your buck. It might be because I've lived in Maine and lobster doesn't cost a ton there or come with the cheesy menu names... Maybe I'm just jaded about my seafood choices. You know what, whoever and wherever Ford is, they need to be smacked. Great Service and even Greater Food. I was so excited to finally get out to this place and today was the perfect day for it. The homie and I started with the Rock Shrimp and Crab and Spinach Dip. Both very good, prepared fresh, and hit thee spot. The sauce on the Rock Shrimp makes you not want to leave anything on the plate, we even ate the Cabbage lol. I then had the chopped side salad, it was also very fresh and colorful which is a plus. Then on to the BIG BOYS....... WE BOTH GOT FOOTLONG VERSIONS OF LOBSTER ROLLS Listen they was worth every penny and I mean very penny. The Lobster Mainer Roll was $40 bones and it was full of Lobster and Clams on a buttery soft roll. Sooo Good!!! I got the Oyster Roll and they could have gave your girl more Oysters but none the less they were fresh and tasty. This one was $29 bones. Now they have 6inch versions of these rolls but being as though Saturday is our only eat out big day, we decided to go big or go home lol. We ended with the Double Chocolate Brownie Desert and that was awesome as well. Ford I am coming back and I'm bringing the entire squad for some good old eating, CHEA!! read more

Yummm. I dined here on Sunday with my family and we had a great experience. Our server was prompt and attentive. We all enjoyed crab legs, king crab, salmon, and fried shrimp. Meet the Business Owner: Tony S.

Tony and Ana Stafford brought their dream of opening "an American farmhouse bistro" to Virginia in 2010 after zoning laws prohibited them from opening in Cambridge, MA. They returned to Northern Virginia, where, Tony says, "we know people and have a following." A former Managing Partner at Bonefish Grill in Centreville and, before that, the executive chef at Artie's in Fairfax, Tony knew the area, its people, and great food. The Staffords opened their first Ford's Fish Shack location in Ashburn in 2010, and now operate locations in South Riding and Lansdowne, in addition to a bustling catering business, Ford's Wicked Catering.

I was a bit disappointed in the seafood salad since the dressing that is used overpowers the taste of the imitation crab, which is what I wanted to taste. I love the sweetness of the crab, but didn't taste it at all. Overall, I was happy with my food but I can't say I will eat here very often as my meal was $42 without including the tip, and for one person and a meal that barely filled a to go box it's a bit much. However, if I crave a crab cake sandwich, I will stop in again and try that.

The service in the bar was surprisingly good, despite the bar itself being pretty crowded and nearly every table around it being populated. The food was served quickly and they allowed us to customize to our liking (TIP: pay the nominal upcharge to replace your existing side dish to Brussels sprouts with bacon and spiced pecans! Or get it as a side to share) I had the Hickory Grilled Hanger Steak with mashed potatoes and a field greens salad, except no potatoes. The salad was amazing (it has dates in it for a sweetness to balance the sour of the dressing) and the medium rare steak was phenomenal. We each had a glass of beer -- the Pale Face Summer Wheat on draft. It is a classic German Hefeweizen and described as "malty with banana and clove flavors." I tested the banana on my first sip. It was a solid choice. The next day, we worked a 15 hour day without stopping to eat. By the time we finished, we were so tired that we agreed to return. I ordered the same steak and my coworker followed my recommendation. He agreed that this is the steak to order. (even if he ordered his more well done than mine). For the second visit, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert instead of beer with dinner. I suggest splitting the dessert. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, but was definitely shareable after a full steak meal.

When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again

After reading several reviews from people who claim to be from New England and indicated this place was not authentic, I had to post. I've never posted here (or on any other online review boards) before but I think this place warrants a review. I'm from New England and spent most of my childhood summers on the Maine and NH shores and I can say that the food is definitely authentic. There are, of course, some dishes that are not "native" to the region; however, that is to be expected in order to meet the needs/tastes of the local customers and to leverage seafood local to this area (e.g., crab). My wife and I have gone here several times and we have had a fantastic experience every time we've gone (6 times now). Four of the times we've been there we've been greeted by the owner/chef. This is very unusual for restaurants in this area. We asked if he was planning to expand to another location and he indicated that he wanted to keep the business personal to ensure the quality of the food. This says a lot of about his commitment and dedication to the business and his customers. We've tried multiple items on the menu (including specials offered on a nightly basis) and we've enjoyed everything we've ordered. The fried lobster, lobster roll, fish tacos, Maine chips and smoked salmon appetizer are our favorites. We eat out in restaurants in Ashburn, Leesburg and Reston at least 3 nights/week. We used to frequent Bone Fish, Clyde's, LIghtfoot and M&S regularly for seafood; however, after finding the Ford's Fish Shack, it's hard for us to make a case to go to these places when we want good seafood. I would highly recommend trying this place. Most of the reviews are very positive and I think that is a testament to the quality of the food and the owner/chef. How can you go wrong when some of the negative comments include too much lobster in the lobster roll and too many of the amazing corn muffins being provided in the bread basket? Enjoy! read more

I have frequented Ford's with friends, family, and co-workers more times than I can count over the last few years. I have dined there for my anniversary, my daughter's birthday, and numerous other everyday occasions. The food is generally delicious, and I love the specials that are offered. My most recent visit, however, did not leave me with a pleasant taste. I had called five days in advance to make a reservation, as we planned to bring a friend with us who had never dined before. We arrived early and were seated on time. However, we were immediately led to the patio area. When I asked if we could please be seated inside instead - it was not freezing cold on the patio but not a particularly comfortable temperature either - the young hostess told me she was sorry but those tables had been reserved. When I had called to make my reservation, I was never asked if I wanted a table inside or on the patio area. I stated this to the hostess, and she repeated that she was sorry. At this point, I was feeling embarrassed at our less-than-stellar seating with our special guest. I asked the hostess to please let the manager know that I didn't find this particularly acceptable, and she said that she would. That was the last I heard of it. The manager came over and offered to turn the heaters on to warm us up, but they turned out to be so hot that we became even more uncomfortable than we already were with the hard patio chairs and cool outside temps. I hate to say it, but this experience very well may keep us from dining there again in the near future, for as much as I like the food, after years in retail, I also value good customer service, and this was anything but. read more

Been there several times in the last couple of month and have yet been majority disappointed with their food and service. FYI....Their happy hour is from 4-7pm, it is Bar area ONLY, be glad if you can grab a seat between 5:30pm-7:00pm. They are always full for the most of the time. Oyster, Angry Mussels, Jumbo Shrimp and Rhode Island calamari are my all time favorites. If you go there on happy hour, the oyster and jumbo shrimp are just $1.00 a piece. Since 4 out 5 times I have been there, today it's the only time I had a jumbo shrimp that were over steamed. Overall I gave their food a 4.5 stars and I'll be back. Not your Legal Seafood environment, this is more of bay area decorated. However, even during high peak hour, the dinning area and restroom are kept cleaned throughout my entire stay. 5 stars. Service, servers are attentive and knowledgable with their menu. I found services are quiet of slow in the dinning room, I' am not sure if the server are buying time for the kitchen so they can catch up their order or they have too many tables to serve at once however, the server does take the time to explain menu. 4 stars. Execution, if you are getting oyster it keeps to deliver to your table rather quickly but when it comes to other hot entree it gets longer to 20 minutes or more and on top of slower service. 2.5 star Overall, great Seafood restaurant in Ashburn to go to if you are craving for great Bay Area favors. read more

Fords Fish Shack. Ahhhhhhhh. I had the dreamiest night of my life. I walked into this resturant and laid my eyes on the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. This brunette goddess with rich, flowing chesnut hair and PEIRCING blue eyes stole my breath from the second she opened the door for me. She was all I could think about all night, all day, the next day, all week. It was crazy. The food was pretty good too. But as I previously stated, my attention wasn't really fully focused on the meal. I couldn't even remember which utensil to use. My waitress brought out these little corn muffins, and I literally died. Throughout the entire night, I asked for extra muffins. They are amazing. As an entree, I ordered the Fried Fish Sandwhich though. It was good. It was very flavorful and moist. I would definetly get it again. The service was fantastic, my waitress was very attentive. Top 3 or 5 restaurant in Ashburn. By far the number one seafood restaurant in the area. I enjoy the firecracker shrimp for an appetizer , or the fresh peel and eat shrimp (esp when sourced from North Carolina). They also serve corn bread rolls with whipped butter that could hold you over. The cod stuffed with crab meat is a good entree. The lobster roll Connecticut style (warm butter) or the 2/3 lobster tails is the best way to eat lobster in this area. Served with shoe string fries and grilled corn. I recommend trying one of your tails deep fried. Again a unique twist. Something about dipping a deep fried chunk of lobster meat in melted butter makes my mouth water. Pro - great service. First class. Everything they do, they do it well. Con- always a wait on weekends. Place is packed. I have not sat at the bar or in the bar area. I have grabbed a drink while waiting. I had heard such great things about Fords Fish Shack in Ashburn. I was excited about it. Met a couple for dinner and drinks. I ordered half rack and tail... Ribs and lobster tail. My ribs were ok, but my lobster tasted funny. i had the people at my table taste it. They agreed. It tasted old and stale, as if it had been frozen and thawed too quickly and cooked. The manager knew a person at our table and came over. He asked about our entrees and I was honest. He quickly changed the subject and began talking to my friend at the table about his family. I didn't want to tarnish the evening so I dismissed it. That was 2 years ago. I never went back, and I doubt I ever will. I gave it 2 stars instead of zero because the server was friendly. Back again - been at least a year since my prior review. Here on business again and my partner for the week and I both wanted to visit this location again as we had both been there before and liked it very much then and just as much this go around, food is great and the service even in the bar area is fast and attentive. Angry mussels... damn those are good. Splurged a little and went for the lobster tails one deep fried and one grilled. Never had deep fried lobster before so I thought I'd give it a try - interesting, not bad just different and the breading combined with the lobster was good enough that I shared it with my partner as a "you've gotta try this" - don't think I'd order it again as the broiled tail was soooo much better. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ford's Fish Shack, and I must say, the food was fantastic. Every dish we ordered was fresh and bursting with flavor, and the portions were incredibly generous. We started with the 6 oysters, smoked salmon bruschetta, and angry mussels. Each appetizer was amazing, with the smoked salmon bruschetta featuring a huge, delicious salmon filet. For our main courses, we ordered the footlong Connecticut lobster roll, the Maine seafood basket (pick 4), and the fried Fishwich. Every item was delicious and tasted exceptionally fresh. I'm a Father of one of the female employees and I'm being told that several of the female staff complain amongst themselves that the managers are very touchy Feely when the managers come to them to talk about something. Is it Necessary for a manager to touch my daughter or any other female on there shoulder or rub there back just to speak with them. The answer is NO! I hope that the Managers seeing this will address all other managers to keep there hands to themselves when addressing and employee specially if it makes them uncomfortable! I've been to Ford's Fish Shack a few time and always order the fish and chips. The fish is very crispy and flavorful, with the two dipping sauces and a side of fries. Always enjoyable. Also tried the fish tacos which are decent, but prefer the fish and chips over them. Will come back and try other dishes. Great service, attentive, haven't tried the bar experience as of yet. I always try to go before of after the lunch rush since it can get quite packed very quickly there. Highly recommend read more

Ford's is an outstanding place. Have visited them several times. Being from New England my favorite entree is the Ipswich Clam Dinner. Finding New England Whole Bewllied Clams in Virginia is hard. They were delicous. The Fried Scallops are also excelent. The mixed plate Clams and Scolops is toi die for. The corn bread muffins are wonderful. My grandfather owned a seafood restaurant/market on Cape Cod back when I was just a little kid. Every year when we went to see him I enjoyed some of the best seafood around. Moving around over the years I have had really bad to ok seafood. Never have I had seafood the caliber of what I had growing up.....until. Ford's Fish Shack is the best seafood I have had in YEARS. Ford's Fish Shack is a must if you live in the area! When my husband and I went, there was about a 15 minute wait. We found 2 seats at the bar and were very pleased with the happy hour special! All of the staff members were very pleasant. Our waitress recommended a few dished, but we were there for the fish tacos!
