Discovered this place on Yelp as I was in the area and my Mom seriously wanted crabcakes. I'm so glad we found this place! The service and food were EXCELLENT! It was our first time dining here and we both were very pleased with the service and food. Despite being packed, we were immediately greeted and it didn't take long for us to be seated. The waiter was super helpful by answering all questions and offered some great suggestions. Being born and raised on the coast of NC, fresh seafood is uber important and the waiter even knew where the seafood was imported from, which definitely placed us at ease. The cornbread muffins were super delicious- we just could've eaten those and been just as satisfied :-) We ended up ordering the filet mignon and crab cake pairing- the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly (no steak sauce needed) and the house-made remoulade was to die for! My Mom and I still talk about this place although we visited in February and we will definitely dine here again. read more

Ate here yesterday and it was terrible! We ordered crab cake sandwiches. The last time we ate them they were perfect, large cakes with chunks of crab. This time we got small, mushy cakes with no discernable chunks of crab. But the real complaint was how we couldn't even taste the crab because we could only taste salt. They were so salty they were disgusting! We have good meals there but also have had bad meals! We won't waste any more money and that is the last time we will eat here! read more

This was my first visit and I was satisfied. I ordered Ford's fish tacos. The fish was slim like a fish stick and it was piled with lettuce, tomatoes, and radish. The fish was quite flavorful but the quantity of fish was little in the taco. Fish and chips was quite greasy. The wait staff was friendly, the customer service was great. Wow! We were able to sit outside because tge weather was great! I ordered a Salmon Salad which was so tasty! The salmon had a light grilled maple flavor and the salad was a blend of shredded lettuces, cabbage, cranberries, etc., and a wonderful dressing! My husband ordered Fish (cod) and Chips that was light and crispy and our friend ordered a specialty burger that was large and juicy, and the fries were thin , like shoestring! They loved their meals. We also ordered small bite size bits of cornbread that we all loved. It was great! Service was prompt and follow through on needs were quickly completed. My coworkers and I were on a business trip from San Francisco. We didn't know what to expect. We ordered the calamari to start and I could have eaten the entire plate to myself. Now we were all excited for our entrees. One of my coworkers ordered the Deep Fried Lobster and you can tell that she enjoyed her meal. My other coworker and myself stated if we come back, we will try the fried lobster. The second dish was the catch of the day and she cleaned off her plate. That states it all..haha. I had the New England Cod which was Cracker-Crusted Baked Cod, Lump Crab Meat with a Tarragon Butter Sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked. The crab complimented the fish and the sauce was better than I expected. We are definitely fans of this place. Reasonably priced and very clean too. I have been a wanting for to try Ford's for a while now, so today I finally went with my mom for lunch. Th decor matches the whole Seafood theme, and you could immediately smell the yummy food in the air. We went with the 1 lb of Angry Mussels and 6 Shrimp and Fish Tacos (3 fish, 3 shrimp). Angry Mussels: The sauce underneath was delicious! Especially with the slices of bread. It wasn't too salty, and I loved the little pieces of chorizo and onions really added a lo not flavor. The Mussels could've been a little bigger... they were pretty small. That's the only complaint. Shrimp and Fish Tacos: LOVE!! Although it didn't have any crazy extra toppings on there, the flavor of the shrimp and Fish were good enough. The shrimp were lightly battered and fried I think, the fish was seasoned well and the sauce on the inside really pulled it together. The veggies that were in the tacos really added that refreshing crunch and texture with the shrimp and fish. I would definitely recommend this! 6 of these tacos for $20 isn't that bad in my book. Definitely worth it. Our server was really accommodating, and quick. I love the whole experience and the food was really awesome. We couldn't even finish all of the food between the 2 of us. Our server at Happy Hour, Chris, must not like his job much because he was really rude. We like the food, but between restricting the Happy Hour menu to the bar area only and poor customer service, I am done with this place. I introduced a lot of friends to this place on my dime. I guess they no longer need my business. BTW: If you don't care about bad service, check Costco for gift cards. They use to sell $100 for $80 gift cards. Not sure if they're rotating or stopped all together, but they use to sell them there. read more

The food at this place is really good quality. I generally don't eat salmon, but even that the way they do it here is delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The blueberry pie is awesome. I'm really impressed by how good and fresh the food is here considering we aren't by the ocean. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. read more

We would come once or twice a week but that hasn't been the case now. The food is mostly fried and we are trying to eat a more healthy diet.

I've been going to this Fords for quite awhile and it never has disappointed. On weekends the bar is very busy with sports games. I am not a huge fan, so I tend to stay away from that, but the rest of the place is always busy. Be prepared to wait 20-40mins in the evening for a table. They do offer call ahead and also online check in to wait, so you don't actually have to wait there! It is my favorite feature of this restaurant. Nothing is fun about waiting and getting hungrier. Or in my case hangry LOL The deviled eggs come with two strips of candied bacon. What else could someone ask for?! Maybe chocolate covered bacon. Sweet. Salty. I think I am going off on another topic! Fridays and Saturdays they have a cauliflower mashed 'potato' alternative. Since I have been low carb for about 8 months, i've been able to substitute the real thing for some veggies. Huge plus! read more

Better than a birthday dinner! 1 pound of satisfying Snow crab legs that took me forever to crack and eat, 1 grilled corn on the cob, 1 of 'better than the usual' coleslaw, 1 big bowl of clam chowder and 5 little muffins with maple butter later and... a slice of key lime pie with strawberry drizzle perfection and I was completely stuffed and totally happy. Celebrated my mothers birthday here. We got her 2 cakes. There was a little confusion and one of the waiters lost one of our cakes but it's no big deal. They found it later. Maybe that guy was actually the manager. Either way, I heard one of the waiters could have been embarrassed but the manager had the type of personality that puts you at easy plus we're all easy going anyway. The food was amazing. Had the crab cake burger, tried the fish and they did not disappoint. I would come here again if I was craving seafood. It's a great place and wish there were more locations like this. They almost dropped to 3 stars based on initial experience. Got in and asked to wait at some side tables hoping a bar seat would open up. That never happened, we stopped the hostess and asked and apparently she forgot and seated someone else at the bar first. Not the end of the world but annoying so we got a table instead. Had crab cakes with broccoli and ceaser salad. Crab cakes were fresh and flavorful rest of the meal was quite good too. Forgot to mention we ordered oysters for app and they were spot on. Fish is always cooked well, I just wish they would add more seats. it sometimes can be tougher getting a seat or a parking place here that getting that Taylor Swift ticket for your brood. is this a strategy? Maybe the wait is like heading to that favorite grocery when you have not eaten all day? The food looks and tastes better. They do have an advantage since only a few decent seafood restaurants are local. Maybe take an Uber? Hands down to excellent service during these amazingly trying times of Covid19! Amy the manager was super friendly and beyond helpful after a little glitch with our pup but all worked out well. HOWEVER, I recently ordered the bang bang shrimp taco and lemon chicken family meal and it was delicious! The shrimp was fresh and crispy even after bring packed up and brought home. I went for a business lunch and picked Ford because of their solid seafood choices. I'm on a keto diet and restaurants typically substitute vegetables for dips. We tried to order the spinach crab dip with chips and veggies (cucumber, celery). Our waiter said the kitchen should be able to accommodate that. Our waiter then returned and said the kitchen pre-chopped all the vegetables for salads and therefore could not accommodate and asked if I can eat the chips. We canceled the appetizer and there were no other gluten free options on the appetizer menu (my lunch partner doesn't eat mussels or shrimp or oysters). I ended up ordering the salmon salad which was really disappointing because it came out and was a huge piece of salmon on top of what looked like a coleslaw salad with corn in it. Since the waiter was already awkward about my diet restrictions, I just ate the salmon and picked through the salad to avoid the tiny corn kernels mixed into it. + 1 star because it was my partners first time dining there and he loved his crab cake sandwich. I love this place and I'm so sad to read this location is closing in September. I always get the crab cake sandwich with coleslaw, and it's incredible. The sandwich has a tiny bit of spice, and the coleslaw is creamy and delicious. My mom and partner have gotten several other dishes, and everybody likes what they get. I wish I could say I loved this place. Ford's would not make it in New England. Where do I start. Pros service very attentive. Adult beverages interesting blueberry lemonade (hold the mint). The best part of the meal was the Maine chips appetizer. The corn bread with a hint of maple syrup was awesome. If we stopped there this would have a good review. Cons does this restaurant hold stocks in Morton Salt because they use enough of it. Clam are small over cooked thscallops also small for ocean scallops. Pan seared and the best thing on the plate. The sauces remoulade I understand the other sauce I don't understand should have been Tartar Sauce. Was that supposed to be coleslaw hint of cinnamon in it and I don't understand it was awful. KFC has better coleslaw. Second visit to Ford's better this time not by much. Requested less salt on my meal. Now the Tartar sauce I have worked hospitality industry for 40 years every batch of tartar sauce I make or witnessed being made has sweet pickle relish in it. We have been here several times now and haven't had a bad meal yet. The service has been very good, the prices reasonable and the meals have been very tasty. If you like peel and eat shrimp, that has become a favorite. The lobster tails got the thumbs up from my son. And the daily fish specials never disappoint. Highly recommend to any fish lovers.
