Beef Noodle Soup - beef cubes were flavorful, tender and moist, baby bok choy fresh, the noodle had a good bounce, and best of all, broth not overly salty. The pork / leek dumpling dish was excellent- these were freshly hand made at the restaurant by their staff, dumpling filling flavorful with pork umami and the dumpling wrap texture excellent. The Xiao Long Bao was juicy and very flavorful. Lastly, we had their Vegetable Mushroom Bun, which was a unique & savory veggie filled steamed bun. Very authentic Chinese dumpling restaurant. We went while this place was still working on their soft opening. There were some hiccups with service and ordering, but once the food came we were happy campers. The pork soup dumplings are delicious and the chili oil is really hot and flavorful. The noodles we ordered were just slightly undercooked but overall we loved trying all the different things and will for sure go back. They don't serve alcohol just yet, so hopefully that will change soon too. The food came out fast and we loved it. They have a big menu so I'm looking forward to trying other things. read more

Food was very good. We ordered the walnut shrimp, pork soup dumplings, spicy chicken, bbq combo plate, beef roll, and the chili wonton. I would say the beef roll was definitely the best dish. The chili wonton was good but its wasn't a soup like we thought and it was our least favorite dish. Would recommend just getting the pork soup dumplings and dipping those in the chili oil. Best Asian food I've ever had in Chico. I do not typically like Chinese American food but this was completely different and felt way more authentic. We tried a variety of things and everything was amazing. The hot pot was huge and had great flavor. All three meats on the barbecue mix plate were so juicy and flavorful. All of the food was presented beautifully. We were seated very quickly and our food came out fast and hot. Honestly I was pretty bummed about this place. We don't have much options in Chico for dumplings and soup dumplings and was so excited to try this...it turned out my excitement was not something to be excited about. The service was great, employees were very nice but that was really like the only good thing about our experience. We got multiple things on the menu and the only thing we liked that we ordered were their French fries! We ordered, the wings, the scallion pancake, the taro shrimp pancake, French fries and the shrimp dumplings. The wings didn't have a lot of meat and were a little over cooked they were also very bland and had absolutely no flavor. The scallion pancake was very greasy and didn't have a great flavor, the taro shrimp pancake was mediocre at best. And the shrimp dumplings were what we were the most excited and what made us want to come. When we ordered them our server had said to us that they didn't have anymore, that they were all out and that's really why we were there and when we explained that to our server she went to check again and they seemed to have them all the sudden. They were very bland and had absolutely no flavor to them. They had a half piece of shrimp in each of them and were just very mushy and not good. And the French fries we actually liked, they were nice and crisp and were a great French fry. Honestly we don't think we will be coming her again unfortunately and it's a bummer. We hoped for better but that just wasn't the case. Try it if you want but we do not recommend it unfortunately. read more

The food was great and come out at a decent time. The pork buns were great, even better dipped in the dumpling sauce. Another highlight were the pop stickers, very fresh with the veggies. First of all when we got inside we had to wait for our server for over an hour. And we left without ordering any food because they only had 1 server on at night! And it was busy. I could hear other customers complaining because they were waiting long for service as well. So within over an hour we just left because we were too hungry to have to wait for our server! And no sorry for the long wait or we will get to your order soon . They said nothing to us. So we decided to show up on an earlier time of the day to see if the service would be better a few weeks later . The service that time was way better. However the food was very bland and no taste! My Aunt ordered some kind of dumpling soup and it was not good. I had a hamburger and it was tasteless. Everything we ordered had hardly any taste! And this says a lot for me because I'm not picky when it comes to restaurant food and I'm not a fan of lots of salty foods however our food had no salt or much taste! The Ambience inside is very dirty and loud they have a food network tv playing but they are showing items that is not on their menu just food network which was weird . Showing how they make Hawaiian food when the truth is they are not a Hawaiian restaurant! So strange! And we asked our server why they have this tv so loud and why are they showing food items that they don't server on their menu . And our server had no clue how to answer on easy question. Terrible experience at Fortune Dumpling House last night. Server forgot to put in our order until almost 25 minutes after we ordered. When she discovered the error, she apologized and asked if she could bring us something to snack on while we waited. We asked for a sesame ball appetizer, which didn't arrive until our food did, another 20 minutes later. My husband's meat trio was gristly, fatty, and rubbery (he couldn't even eat it)... and they didn't even bring him a knife to cut it with. No one ever refilled our empty water glasses. Then when we got the bill, we were charged for the sesame balls, and when I questioned it... assuming they were going to be comped, the server said that wasn't her intention and she was sorry I was unclear. As our entrees we ordered the Shrimp and Pork Dumplings with Beef Noodle Soup. The shrimp dumplings came along with the soup, both very tasty. But the pork dumplings did not come. We did not have anyone check on us until most of the food was gone for us to let them know we were still waiting on the pork dumpling. We were finally attended and were told they'd be right back. They brought us our bill before the rest of our order came. When it finally came the rest of our group was done eating. Maybe they will work out these kinks before their grand opening.
