We visited the one in Round Rock. The Hot and sour soup was barely warmer than room temperature and the garlic roasted chicken (shown on the photo) was pasty white. Not at all like the photo. My husband and I love this place. It is super kid friendly. We always bring our rambunctious 3 year old.They always treat us great. The chicken pho is surprisingly great! We always get the sweet and sour chicken and vegetable lo mein. The servers are pretty attentive to refills. The only thing keeping me from making it a 5 is their lack of variety with hot tea. Only have Jasmine and Green. And half the time jasmine is absent. Overall we are always pleased to come here. read more

First time coming here. Was expecting about the same as most chinese restaurants. It took 5 minutes to get seated, then 10 minutes just to get drinks. One of the drinks were flat and we had to get up and ask the waitress to get a different one after waiting for 20 minutes. Finally get our order in and the waitress took one of our cups for a refill. We got our soups and appetizer and then after 10, got our soda refill. Really? Then when they brought our food out, they brought the wrong one for me. How hard is it to make beef fried rice. After eating, and waiting 20 minutes for a waitress to even come out from the kitchen, she gives us the check and we have to ask for to go boxes. When we finally put our food in our boxes, the owner comes back with our payment that she took with out our even signing it and it still had our card in it. Really? This is one of the BEST asian food offerings in the area, offering up both Vietnamese and Chinese! We were looking for a suitable replacement after moving to Round Rock for the Chinese takeout we'd been getting since originally moving to Austin a few years ago. OVer the course of those years both Chinese take out places we frequented continuously decreased in quality...often forgetting to send us items we ordered, sending the wrong items, and overall the food itself became disgusting. So, one day we took a quick look around, and found Fortune Garden receiving rave reviews on Google. We tried it out, and have been fans ever since! Fortune Garden offers up the standard Americanized Chinese take out we're all familiar with, but spices it up by offering REAL traditional Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The Pho is outstanding (though not a fan of the chewy meatball Pho), their Vermicelli noodle dishes are outrageous, and their crispy rice noodle dishes are delicious. The Americanized fare is also excellent. We're from NY originally where some of the best takeout chinese can be had, but also you'll find some of the finest Asian cuisine in the country in Flushing, NY. Well, I've been to Flushing, and I'll tell you right now - the Orange Peel Beef that Fortune Garden serves is the best I have -EVER- had, anywhere. Even when it sits in that styrofoam take out carton...you get it home, and the beef is ultra crispy, and ultra tender at the same time. It doesn't get any better. REAL spring rolls! Not the fried kind...I'm talking about the actual clear-rice paper spring rolls. So, obviously I love this place, right? Why 4 stars, not 5? * They don't deliver. They used to, but they gradually decreased the hours in which they would deliver (cutting off as early as 2 hours prior to closing) before ceasing to deliver completely. Huge blow to the score there. * Pho Meatballs are very chewy...nothing like the type of pork meatballs you would get on something like a banh mi. Probably the only food item I've ever gotten from here that I was disappointed with (didn't even dislike it...was just disappointed). * Sometimes they get the order wrong unintentionally - I ordered spring rolls a couple of times, and got the fried kind (which I didn't even know existed on their menu) rather than the traditional rice paper kind that we always get. Also got regular chicken broth once with a Pho order. They replaced it and let me keep the chicken broth at no charge. read more

Absolute awful customer service. The only reason we continue to go is because the food is always really good but after several dine in attempts we decided to be loyal TO GO customers. I placed my order with a gentlemen who thankfully spoke perfect English and ordered orange chicken w/ steamed rice and sesame chicken w/ steamed rice and when I went to pick up my order and drove all the way home in Hutto. There was no rice... when I called knowing they have a delivery service and asked if they could deliver it back to me they asked for me to meet them halfway?! For their error!!! I said no I am at home with 2 kids I just drove from Hutto to there and back and am not going back and asked instead for a credit and he said they don't do that but he'll jot a note and to ask the owner next time I go to see what they can do for me... what a promise... I spent almost $30 for just 2 trays of chicken and am now cooking my own rice. You all just lost a loyal customer! read more

We like Fortune Garden. So far we've ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, Shrimp Kung Pao and Tofu Kung Pao. The dishes are good and keep us coming back as regular customers. The Pro's: tasty food, they cook their tofu how we like it (firm, fried, browned and not mushy) and pickup orders are always swift. Cons: not the cheapest prices, they tend to be heavy on the peanuts and there's no alcohol here. It would be nice if it were byob with Spec's being next door. Also, maybe i'm crazy but for some reason the food always seems to taste better when we eat there. Overall, i like this place and hope it can keep its doors open. Seems family run. Food is good, but eggrolls are mostly cabbage. Their bun is good. However. I don't think I will, let me rephrase that: I will never go there again. Our server was rude on a recent visit. I was polite, and asked if they had the bun, but with chicken instead of pork. She rudely said, "we don't have it that way, it's with pork, not chicken." Come on. Really? Anyway, her tone was not friendly. They bring out your food quickly, but the rudeness, I cannot handle. I'm a gentleman. You can say you don't have an item, but don't be rude about it. Sorry it took sometime to get this review out but here it goes. Family loves all asian food, especially vietnamese food and after a trip to ikea we craved pho and gave this place a try. Nice setting, quiet cozy! Food we ordered was very good. We had pho, their crispy wings , which are awesome btw!!!, and a spicy noodle dish that smelled unusual but was very good! Also had their hot and sour and did not like it... A bit too sweet for a hot n Sour.... Tip: best hot n sour in town is no doubt Din Ho's on 183 and Peyton Gin. So, if food is good, then why 3 stars.... Well it could have been that day, but service was not up to par with the food. It seemed our waitress was not having a good day because every time we asked for something she looked annoyed. She was never rude but i was afraid to ask for anything!! So i asked the hostess for some extra limes for the Pho and she said i needed to ask my waitress!!?!?! So that threw me off... It may give it a 2 nd try just for the wings!! read more

The owner seems to be Vietnamese but their Chinese food is quite good. Their dishes are more the common American Chinese dishes, but it's very good. We took our kids there, and we had egg drop soup, lemon chicken, pork delight and combo Fried rice. Egg drop soup and fried rice actually both surprised me. They're quite authentic. Lemon chicken and pork delight are delicious as well, but they're more American tasting. I can understand why since the people around this neighborhood are more Americans than Asians. read more

We've been looking for a good Asian restaurant since our go-to favorite, Food Shui, changed hands. Based on the Yelper's recommendations, we took our in-laws to Fortune Garden and I have to say it was better than we expected based on the unassuming location in the University Oaks Shopping Center behind Ikea. Once you get inside, it's very nice and clean as a whistle. We sampled seafood, chicken and tofu dishes and everything was delicious.Large portions, we were stuffed. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Drinks were replenished regularly and we were asked repeatedly if we needed anything and if everything was to our satisfaction, which it was. Anyway, it was a textbook example of a good dining experience and we'll be back soon, Plus, it impressed the inlaws. read more

This place is amazing- it's tucked into a shopping center near SPECS and Ikea in Round Rock. I usually get the PHO Chicken or the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special. They give you plenty of food and most of the time, after ordering, it's on the table within 5 minutes! The only complaint I have about this place is the waitress re-filling your drinks. Once the food is delivered, it's hard to have them come back around to refill your empty cup. You practically have to flag them down... We are new to the North Round Rock area so we are exploring our new eating options. We arrived 30 minutes before closing on a weeknight and were greeted graciously. It was quiet, with only 2 other tables busy with diners. A few people came in for take outs. Though we arrrived 30 minutes before closing, we were never made to feel rushed. The atmosphere was better than the average Asian restaurant which I appreciated. Normally you find stackable chairs, but not here, nice furnishings. The food was good. I wouldn't rave over it, but we only ordered 2 entrees and it was better than average. My wife's shrimp and broccoli was especially good with the shrimp still plump. My Mongolian beef was a little weak in flavor. I'd stay more 'stewed' than quick fried. Overall, I'll go again, a ton of choices and I felt it was a solid value. read more

I love Fortune Garden! The orange chicken is perfect. I just wish they offered sweet and sour and/or hot mustard for the egg roll. I have tried the beef pho, shrimp pho, and chicken pho, and they were each delicious. The food is consistently good. I have eaten at the restaurant a few times and always had great service. Expensive, no combo meals that include egg roll and soup which is surprising. Makes for an expensive meal to order everything separately.

We order Togo and dine in here often now! The food here is really good and reasonably priced!
