This is my new go-to brunch restaurant in the Central Park area. Amazing staff, full bar. First time I tried to go to this restaurant there was a 90 minute wait. I had no time for that, but it smelled amazing and after reading the reviews I was obsessed. Returned another day, and . I had the blue crab Benedict with fried green tomatoes, and shared an order of beignets with my boyfriend and they were ridiculous. I will get them every time!! When brother and his family were in town, we had breakfast here. I had enjoyed my Benedict so much I ordered it again. On the 3rd visit, tried the Shrimp and Grits!! I have not had grits more than 5 times in my life, and have not been a fan so far. Now I understand it's all about the preparation. This is not Cracker Barrel grits; these are four cheese grits served with sauteed gulf shrimp, chargrilled succotash, baby spinach and spicy tomato shrimp broth. Four Friends Kitchen is one of my favorite brunch spots in the area. The food and drinks are amazing. Just a heads up, you need to get in early or put your name in early if you want to eat here. I know the restaurant can't control the wait, which is why I didn't give it 4 stars. Just be prepared for a wait. I will say it's definitely worth it. One of my favorite things to order here is the Smokey Mountain BLT. The bacon and the fried green tomatoes are an amazing combo, and it's rounded out by the smoked cheddar pimento *chef's kiss*. It's a toss up between the potatoes and grits, so just go ahead and order both (even if it means you're going to be filled to the brim). I can't even put into words how good both are, and can't choose between the two. I always have to order a Bloody Mary with my meal because it's the perfect amount of spice and the mix is pure perfection. I like to finish my meal with a canned cold brew, and I put whatever I can't drink into a to go cup. I honestly need to branch out on my food and drink choices a little more at Four Friends Kitchen, but it's hard to mess with with perfection. read more

Overall, this is a decent place to eat. The best thing (as the menu implies) is the bacon. We had a group of 4 and we went for breakfast. The service was very attentive. We started with a coffee, Irish coffee, and mimosas. The coffee was not good on its own, and the Irish coffee did not taste any different. The mimosas were decent. I had an early morning flight in from Chicago on a Monday morning so rather than go straight home, I stopped at Four Friends Kitchen for breakfast. It's been a long time since I've been here. I was surprised that I didn't write a review from my previous visits so here I am now! I love where this establishment is located. It's in Northeast Denver, not too far west of Stanley Marketplace. The neighborhood is decent as well. Inside they have a nice bar area to sit and eat at. There are plenty of tables to sit at in the main dining room. They were busy when I dined here but it wasn't that noisy. I started with some hot coffee and cream. Coffee is good here. Also, I ate at the bar area. The bartender who took my order was friendly and didn't have an attitude. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Hash & Eggs. You can order your eggs any way you like. I chose my default, over medium. It comes with cornbread as well. Rather than go with cornbread I opted for a Buttermilk Pancake. Meal was fantastic! Surprise, surprise.... I've never had a mediocre or bad meal here. I love how their pancakes are moist and not dried out. It's just unfortunate I live so far away from here now. If you're in North Denver, this would be a great place to check out. As the subtitle for this restaurant indicates, an American Eatery with Southern Charm, it's so true to it's name! My kind of place! I'm going out of town on Thanksgiving weekend and may return here after my early morning return flight on Monday morning. May need to do a little deja vu.... Check out Four Friends Kitchen if you live in the area or visiting town. Great food and good location. I believe there are some shops nearby to browse or a nice area to walk around after your meal. We have heard rave after rave after rave about this place.... and everytime we drive by, there seems to be a wait..... so what better to do when you awaken at 7am on a saturday? go to breakfast!!! we live literally 5 minutes from here and it was already pretty busy (they open at 6:30am). we were seated right away. it was super clean and bright, which i like in a breakfast place! i'd heard so much about the grits, that i had to give those a try (kickin' sausage grits) and hubs wanted the french toast. both were delicious, but i got tell ya' the REAL STAR of the show was the order of beignets!!! like i could just go back to eat those!! i gave it four stars (one for each friend haha) because truth be told, while i do like that everything is fresh and organic, there just wasn't a ton on the menu that couldn't be found elsewhere. The staff and food was amazing. I can be a pain because I don't eat meat or dairy but we eat eggs. And both my kids are allergic to dairy. So usually when we go places and substitute things for avocado or whatever, we get very small portions. Not only were the portions appropriate, but the dairy free option that they had are absolutely delicious and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Also, I think things are very fairly priced. Four Friends Kitchen is a gem just off of Founders Green on the boarder of the Central Park and North Park Hill neighborhoods. Was surprised that it wasn't packed at 8am on a beautiful, cool, Saturday morning and we were seated right away. It's a small space with 16 tables and 8 bar seats. There is also rooftop seating! The menu is Southern comfort food (breakfast/brunch/lunch). We started with the Bacon Grits Bites (5 bites) and Beignets (5). The Bacon Grits Bites are fried balls of cheesy grits, peppers, and bacon and have a bit of spice to them as they are also served over a Serrano aioli. The Beignets were excellent. My son raved about the hot chocolate. The coffee was good, not great, to my taste. Didn't stop me from having multiple cups to fuel my morning. My son went with The Kitchen Sink. It's the standard choose-your-own-adventure breakfast. He went with eggs, ham, potatoes, and a pancake. Other options included maple bacon, homemade sausage, grits and toast. I went with the Banana Split Parfait. Greek yogurt, bananas, berries, granola, and honey. I was surprised by the presentation, was expecting it to be smaller. It was shockingly good. This charming little breakfast spot caught my eye as I looked at photos online and the great reviews prompted us to place an order and try them out. It was early on a Saturday morning and the dining room was still relatively empty. We both wanted the smoked brisket hash and eggs but we decided on getting a single order and the southern fried chicken and waffles. We also tried their scratch pancakes with bourbon pecan praline topping, a PB&J waffle, sweet potato bites, bacon, and potatoes. We were most excited about the hash and the sweet potato bites. The menu description of the sweet potato bites was very interesting- sweet potato and four cheese buttermilk biscuit bites. What we got were more like dry hush puppies unfortunately and the berry mustard compote was missing. What was good though was the hash! The flavors all seemed to really come together well and the dish was seasoned. The waffles were also nicely cooked but the fried chicken strips were tiny, hard, and overcooked. The chicken and waffles did not live up to this southern girl's expectations! We got everything to go but perhaps dining in at some point in the future might offer a better experience. We were seated top of the roof. Very nice breeze. Check in is very efficient as you are out on waiting list and messages five minutes before your table is available. Breakfast is very nice. Good options. But nothing is unique but is good. One thing that made me give this place 3 stars is the coffee. Their coffee, well, is straight from the kcup machine. For such a nice place they do need to upgrade their coffee. We had to go to another cafe afterward to wash our breakfast down. Nice potatoes btw. This place is a very cute brunch place with an actual parking lot, haha. I ordered some coffee and the Bluegrass Benedict, which is Four Friends' take on Eggs Benedict. I enjoyed the collard greens on the benedict and the sauce on top! My only issue was that the english muffin was flimsy, which i prefer to be toasted and a bit more hard in my benedicts. However, the breakfast potatoes were the best potatoes that I've had at a breakfast place! Super crisp and soft all at the same time. Seasoned pretty well too. Service was nice, and they checked in a couple of times! Wouldn't call this place my go to breakfast place, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. read more

Went there on Saturday for brunch with a friend. I was glad I joined the Yelp waitlist when I left my house as I still had to wait like 15-20 minutes after checking in, busy Saturday morning! This place was popping! It's not a place for a quiet casual brunch, it's a hustle bustle, get them in and get them out type atmosphere, which I didn't mind at all. They are utilizing all the space they have. Food was good! I had coffee with the kitchen sink sun the potatoes for a biscuit and I believe my friend had some type of eggs Benedict with gluten free English muffins. The homemade sage sausage in the kitchen was good! A little sweet, a little heat, but good!! The grits were yummy! The biscuit was a little underwhelming. I thought at a southern place the biscuit is gonna be forsure good. Went there this morning for breakfast on our way out of town. This makes the 3rd time I've been there. Always delicious....a bit of a wait depending on what time of the morning you go. Thankfully here on Yelp, they have a chart that shows you the wait time at any given time of the morning, so that's a big help. I think I've done a review before, but the beignets are delicious. I always get the kitchen sink breakfast. Everything on the plate is good. This morning I got the potato bread toast....I would have liked it a little more toasted, but it still tasted delicious with the strawberry preserves. I'm in the minority here. Service 7.5/10 Breakfast Burrito 7/10 Drip coffee (NOVO) 10/10 My burrito was OK.. the green chili has an odd pickled taste to it, which I wasn't a fan of. I had been wanting to try this place for awhile, but I have had other breakfast burritos around that slap just a little harder than these. Portion sizes are good here and prices are reasonable.
