First and last time. My wife ordered the veggie wrap with chicken, a side salad with dressing on the side. Wrap came without the chicken. Salad came with dressing. The $18 or $19 for the veggie wrap is pretty excessive for the small amount of veggies in the wrap. Over priced. I asked the server what CAB stood for, he didn't know and said he'd find out. When he came out with our drinks I asked again about CAB. He said he'd check. He never came back with an answer. I ordered the signature burger medium rare. Burger came out mostly raw. Told the server to take it back. At this point, I was fed up. As we left I shared our experience with the assistant manager. She apologized and took our number. Wow! First of all, this place is beautiful! The place is big enough to accommodate a real crowd but small enough that it feels intimate and romantic. It has so many cute touches. They have outdoor seating, bar seating, the main area, plus an upper balcony-like space that overlooks the main seating area. Overall just a great vibe. The service was fantastic. We came a little before the dinner rush and even once it started filling up, our waitress was great! We came for drinks primarily but ended up trying a bunch of appetizers and everything was delicious. I think I ate all of the pretzel bites. You also must try the nachos! Drinks were spot on as well! Parking was no problem and they have a garage as well so that makes life easy. Overall, just a great, chill experience. Our first time here, with others recommending the establishment. Was a Monday , my wife's birthday and she wanted to try it. Service was excellent. Our waiter Joe was very attentive and check on us frequently. We got Hot Chips and fondue drip. That was a nice appetizer to try. I really wanted to try the Bavarian Pretzel (To compare it to Westwood Meats). The wings, apparently recommended, were just meh. If you like the style of wings at Anthony Franco's, you'll probably like these. It did not do it for me. Give me Chicken Delight or Stew Leonard's wings over these. My Caesar Salad with grilled chicken was also meh. Crouton "strips" were burnt pieces of bread with too much rosemary. Chicken was overcooked and dry. It's a cool atmosphere, but perhaps go to watch events and skip the entrees. Again, service was VG (hence the 3/5) but for a birthday dinner, it was sort of disappointing. This place should be great. Good drinks, great food but on occasions the service just implodes. You can have a great experience here or you can get stuck with a server that just has no idea what they are doing. They seem to cycle through servers quickly and you never see them a second time. Tried this place 4 times since it opened! It's beautiful inside. Horrible every time! Bartenders were rude. We sit at the bar all the time. We've been there on Monday and 3 Fridays. Latest visit was the worst! Got a $13 glass of house Pinot Grigio for $13: the pour was 4 oz!!! It was Barrone Fini; which costs $9 /bottle!!! Absolutely rediculous!! The food there was really good and I love the stuff that they added to the Caesar salad and even the fries are really good! The service was nice. They always came over to refill our water. The one annoying thing was that we had like three waiters at our table just because we had five people and it felt a little crowded but it is OK. I do not care about it that much the ambience was so nice and calming and a nice place to get out and have some fun in Bergen County! It's obvious that a lot of $ was put into this establishment. We were seated promptly on a Friday night at 7 pm. The staff was attentive and our waitress made note of all food allergies/intolerance. The problem was the kitchen was just expediting food but not paying attention to what the waitress had written. The menu even states - please advise of all allergies. Expediting food and taking chances with the health of your guests is not wise. My dinner had to be made 3x. We will not be returning. My family and I had dinner here for the first time on a Sunday evening, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. The atmosphere was gorgeous, the specials were robust, and both the food and service were fantastic! No complaints whatsoever. We all left happy and thoroughly impressed. We live 5 minutes away in River Vale so we were excited that a new place opened. Our first and probably last time was last week. Service was adequate but not great. This can be forgiven as the place is new and they appeared to be training new people. The food is another story. Not very good, especially for the price point. The chicken sandwich consisted of a thin dry cutlet which the bun overwhelmed. Ordered the toppings on the side as loading a sandwhich up with toppings to hide a small portion is an old trick. A chicken sandwich at Wendy's is much juicier and the portion and thickness much larger for a third of the price. The steak sandwhich had barely any meat, although taste was not bad. Our first clue should have been when the server didn't ask how we would like it cooked. My friend had the chicken caesar salad and liked it. Pretzel bites were fine but the cheddar beer sauce was watery. Really need to pick up their game food wise. No value for the price point. Atmosphere is nice. read more
