Awesome freshly made beef and pork jerky! Very good quality and a good variety of flavors. I see them make it in the back and it nice and warm when you taste it. I almost tried everything. They are very good about allowing you to try each jerky. No questions or attitude. I felt bad trying so many but I wanted to pick the right ones since they are on the pricey side - $24-25 per pound. ~$12 for half pound and ~$6 for quarter pound. You can ask them to cut them into small pieces before packing so you don't have to work so hard later. They all come in a separate zip locked bags. The original pork jerky was a little plain but still very good. I like the spicy pork jerky more. The tender pork jerky is a mix of original pork and bacon jerky. It's a little more fatty which made it more flavorful. The spicy bacon was good and had a spicy kick. I thought this was more spicy than the spicy pork jerky. I usually like pork jerky more but I really liked their black pepper beef jerky so I got half a pound too! Definitely pricey but worthy of the quality. I've been waiting for something like this to open in LA. I see this type of jerky shops all over Asia but the quality here seemed even better. They make authentic Malaysian/Singaporean Chinese style jerky. Bakkwa originated from Fujian and used to be sun dried. My kids love the original pork that is tender (from minced meat). The flame grilled flavor is excellent and makes an excellent snack. I grew up eating these fresh grilled served on a hotdog bun. They are expensive because it's meat! Note that this style of jerky is wet and sweet, hence don't expect shelf like American jerky. I refrigerate once opened, and microwave to get the flavor. Buy in smaller packages to keep longer. The jerky is stellar here. It is super delicious after a few seconds in the microwave. Unlike most jerky, this jerky has a soft texture and is not as tough like other standard jerky. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! Don't go!!! Cheap people! I was waiting patiently at the store because the customer in front of me bought lots of jerky. There were 2 more staffs at the store but they just chilling not helping. And when it's my turn the staff told me she couldn't cut the jerky for me. They have a good selection of jerky; pork, beef, bacon, with different seasoning, and made fresh daily. Ordering was easy. You tell them which jerky you want and how many pounds. They sell it by 1/4, 1/2, 1 pounds. Then they weigh your jerky and ask if you would like to cut jerky into small pieces. Then they will package your jerky in a nice sealed bag. I placed several different jerky orders with them for souvenirs and the employees were very nice and patient with my request. We tried the spicy beef and original beef. Both were really good! Along with Bitlong, Singapore style jerky is my go to meat snack. Everything is grilled with a slight hint of fish sauce. If you're sensitive to anything with the word "fish", you can probably pass. However, you will be missing out on the most tender and flavorful jerky around. I order this stuff online from Amazon if I'm too lazy to make the drive to Rosemead. My favorite flavors are the pepper beef and spicy bacon jerky. If you take it home, remember to nuke it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so for maximum dankness. Found out about this place thru a fellow yelp friend. Usually when I buy jerky its either from the supermarket, the gas-station convenience store, or in Baker (Alien) on the way to Vegas. This place was on another level. I walked in to an empty store with just a glass display case filled with only one kind of jerky, the Original Pork. I asked the guy behind the counter if they were going to bring out any of the other flavors. He seemed a bit confused, then asked me which one I wanted. And in all reality, I wanted to try all their flavors, about 8 of them. I asked him which one is the most popular, he said the Original Pork. After a few minutes of standing around they brought out the Tender Pork and Original Beef. I asked him again when they will bring out the Spicy Bacon. He said maybe soon. At this point I realized that the cooks behind the counter and the rest of the staff were more involved with packaging, sealing, and organizing FedEx Boxes for their online orders rather than serving walk-in customers. I bought half a pound of all 3 flavors they had and walked out. Turned out, my favorite was the Tender Beef. It was the one with the most bite and chew to it like a real jerky should feel and taste like. My hubby is crazy about jerky. He will look at Jerky when we go to shopping, trade shows, and specialty stores. I thought, I was yelp master at home until my hubby went on a jerky rampage. He looked on yelp and found this little place. We are not from the LA area and he's wanted to come here since last year when he showed to me and told me to bookmark it. This little place is located inside a small strip mall. A parking lot will accommodate your parking needs. This is a no thrills type of place, a counter show casing the jerky, small seating area and register to pay for your goods. In the back is a small kitchen where you can see someone grilling pork or beef. When we came in the lady behind the counter let us sample some of the jerky. I liked the pork jerky the best. It is served warm, it's a bit sweet, and tender. She packaged the jerky in self sealing bags then sealed until ready to be eaten. read more

This is got to be some of the best jerky I've ever tasted. And yes I think it's even better than the fruit flavored jerky in the red box that they sell in Chinese supermarkets. We discovered this place after a forgettable meal of pho, when we saw a line to enter the building and were wondering what was going on. So far we've tried their traditional jerky and more importantly their "bacon". The bacon is literally a slice of heaven. Definitely made from the pork belly, this thick cut bacon is slowly smoked and seasoned with a sweet honey glaze. This is so tender that it quite literally melts in your mouth. It puts American-style jerkies to shame - those jerkies taste like leather. The standard jerky cost $23 a pound while the pork belly jerky (a.k.a. bacon) is $26 a pound. But man, is it worth every penny! Not only is it worth coming back, but we have been back ourselves twice already! read more

I love this place! Right when we walked in, we were greeted and felt welcomed. The lady offered us some samples and we ended up trying all of the samples! I loved the bacon and original pork one. Each one is about 25 bucks a pound so we only got 1/4 of a pound. We got the spicy beef and original pork. I like the original pork because it was very juicy and the sweet taste made me fall in love! The spicy beef had a little spicy kick to it, but not overwhelming spicy where you would have to spit out fire! I will be back to get more beef jerky here! 5 stars! The two words you need to know. We also like the pork jerky (both the spicy and regular) and beef jerky (peppered and original). Their jerky is tender, sweet, and seriously flavorful. If that sounds like what you like, don't hesitate to go. The workers there are super helpful, and if you need separate packing (for gifts, etc), they don't mind providing that to you. They have samples to try if you have never been there. AND seriously, try everything. You can't resist. Reasonably priced per pound. AND if you want the jerky warmed, heat it up (10 seconds in the microwave) and enjoy if you were eating it freshly made! Because it was freshly made... So I was reading the yelp reviews on this place and I couldn't resist myself and had to go check it out. I'm a big fan of tender juicy pork jerky and the stuff from the supermarket just isn't as good anymore. So I decided to come here and they were nice enough to let me try a couple of things. I asked the lady if the beef or the pork is better and she told me the pork is their most popular items. The lady was very friendly and polite throughout my visit and it was a very quick visit. I asked the also asked about storing instructions and she advises to store in room temperature for one week or it can last up to three months if it is refrigerated. She also told me there is reheating instructions on the bag. The bag has more detailed information which is very helpful. I tried the original bacon and the tender pork. I really like the bacon because it had a good sweet flavor and wasn't extremely dry. The tender pork had good flavor as well but was a little bit more meaty so I didn't get that this time. I ended up purchasing the original bacon and the spicy bacon for my family to try. I tried a little piece of the spicy bacon and it was a bit spicy for my taste but it didn't burn too much where my mouth was numb or anything. Both of the bacon jerky were $27.80 a pound and I got a half pound of each. This stuff is definitely addicting if you love bacon and sweet jerky. I kept eating one after another, every time I resealed the bag I would have to open it and close it again for another piece (this happened about five times within 15 minutes). It's definitely good, you can tell it's a bit greasy-it is bacon after all but it's just so delicious. read more
