This place is very dear to my childhood; the quality of the place has not diminished in the last 25 years I've dined here. One of the ladies who works there even remembers me from when I was a child and would ask me how I am doing and about my mom; I love feeling welcome here. My favorite food to eat here are the Singaporean fried noodles, the salt and pepper chicken wings, the salt and pepper squid, and the pork chop with rice. Mom n Pop Singaporean restaurant with great food and good prices! My favorite dish was the Singaporean Fried Rice Noodles with was savory and meaty. Loved the salty scrambled eggs bits in it. It also comes with chili oil which is a must and you can ask for more upon request. I also got the Singaporean Style Laksa which was good, but I wish it were thicker and more flavorful. Still good though and I liked the fried tofu which soaked up all the flavor and butterfly shrimp in it. The portions are big and good for sharing. My mentor (aka former work mom) lives in this area and takes me to these lovely little neighborhood restaurants. Sadly, many have low reviews which I just cannot understand. My mentor is a fantastic cook so she is really picky about eating out. The squid noodles - simple yet delicious. One of the best stir fried noodles I have ever had. The wok flavor was strong and you can tell the chef knows what he is doing. The squid is cooked just right. Laksa was really good though this is not one of mg favorite dishes to begin with. The lemongrass chicken chop was outstanding. I have no idea how he got so much flavor and kept the chicken juicy but slightly crisp on the outside. The red bean was also excellent! After 30 plus years this place is still here!!!!!!. I remember coming here after high school for a red bean ice with ice cream ;). My go to: I love the Singaporean rice noodle dish. It's one of the best around: rice noodle texture is on point, not oily, seasoned perfectly, great meat to noodle ratio... highly recommend this if you come here. I recently tried a noodle soup for the first time: preserved vegetable and pork. Great flavor!!! How do you get the rice noodle texture so perfectly snappy?? Soup is rich in flavor too. The service is great, small businesses deserve so much more appreciation! The food came out quickly. The person who ordered the Portuguese sauce ox tongue said it lacked flavor and any vegetables with the dish. It was not very tender. A restaurant ive passed by a thousand times , but never went in. Uncertain why, but if it has lasted 20+ years in the SGV, a highly competitive asian foodie environment , theres gotta be a reason. That reason was the Singapore noodle which was recommended by a friend. Otherwise, this joint may have remained off my radar. Over the past few decades, ive eaten Singapore noodle at perhaps 10+ different venues. However, none tasted quite like this. First, the noodles. Texture was fluffy, light, and not over cooked...almost al dente-ish. Then the shrimp, had a slight crunch to it that complimented the noodle. Add a bit of black vinegar, and one has an amazingly balanced and delicious dish. It was so good, we returned the next weekend to order for a party. What were our guests response? Outstanding! Stopped by here because I was craving Singapore rice noodles. It's located at the corner of Lincoln and Garvey. The portions are pretty decent, there's a lot more rice noodles to egg, squid, shrimp and octopus but I prefer that. I love noodles lol. They are popular for Larka, satays, sautéed beef stews, and the most signature of Singapore rich noodles vermicelli... Recently visited here two different Saturday afternoons to dine in for lunch with family and friends. No wait for seating both times. The restaurant seems to specialize in Chinese Singaporean style dishes. Today we had the Singapore noodles, kung pao fish, stir fry vegetables with bean curd sauce, beef chow fun with gravy, and baked Portuguese sauce chicken rice. We were disappointed that the mixed green bean curd sauce vegetable was just stir fried iceburg lettuce. Singapore noodles were good. The kung pao fish was ok but kind of salty. The baked chicken rice had good flavor and the beef chow fun in gravy was also tasty. We ordered lemon iced tea and iced milk tea and later realized they were $5 each. Free refills of the lemon iced tea but not for the milk tea. We won't order drinks here next time. Most cafes around here offer reduced drink prices with lunch entrees. The service was ok. They refilled my iced tea quickly. The dishes took a while to come out after ordering and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. read more

The normal order I usually get is the laksa & Singapore fried noodles which are what they specialize in in my opinion. Price: It is around $15 minimum each entree. Take that for what you will. Ambiance: This place hasn't renovated at all since the time I've been alive, so it looks like its from the 80s. Amazing Singapore noodles here have a fantastic "wok energy" grilled noodle flavor. It's got a smoky/perfect full flavor I have never found anywhere else. It's so good they don't even use curry. It's not salty, with a clean flavor. The seafood is fresh and not fishy/overpowering, with the perfect chew/bite, alongside the noodle texture. The ham, seafood, egg all add sweetness, smokiness, flavor. The tentacles and squid have a nice springy texture. The crisp texture from the mung beans adds to it. It's not greasy usually. They also have a fantastic laksa with a rich flavor, coconut milk and curry. You get great milk tea drinks within mins, and your food within 10 mins. It's no frills-- they just serve your food and leave you to enjoy! We'd gotten takeout here before and during the pandemic as well. It never disappoints! One time the noodles were greasy, but over nearly 20 years, it nearly never misses! Some notes: outstanding beef pandang curry is so rich tomato stew based fantastically flavorful My partner came here since he was 8 yrs old when his mom was a waitress here. He was that kid in the corner booth doing homework. Upon entering, you can feel the old school ambiance of Litz, which does feel both welcoming and bring back memories of days gone by. I was attended to fast and seated. Unfortunately, the food is where Litz is really disappointing. I ordered the laksa, and it not take long to arrive to my table. The noodles were flavorless and tasted as if they were not cooked properly. The broth smelled like coconut but had no flavor nor spice. The chicken and shrimp were the worst offenders, both tasting slimy and inedible. After 3 bites, I called it quits and informed the waitress about the terrible laksa. I do commend the waitress for offering to replace the dish, but with how bad the ingredients tasted, I had no confidence in a replacement dish. Unfortunately, I was still required to pay for this excuse of a meal. I do not see myself ever coming back, and it's up to you to decide if you'd like to try this laksa. read more

I've found this place on Yelp searches on several occasions, but I just never found an opportunity to go. Finally, my family and I decided to come here for brunch on a weekend. They don't have a specific breakfast or lunch menu. Although they seemed to be best known for their Singapore stir fried noodles, I instead ordered the laksa, as not a lot of restaurants in the area serve laksa. We also ordered the chili fish and the baked pork chop rice with onions. The laksa was super tasty, and not too spicy. The pork was crispy on the outside, very tender on the inside. The onions and the sauce for the pork chop rice was super tasty, and went well with the pork. The chili fish was crispy, and the peppers helped add a bit of a kick. Absolutely no. This was the first bad meal we'd had in SGV. Both my parents grew up in Singapore, so when I saw this restaurant listed as a Singaporean restaurant I had to come try it. They have a pretty extensive list of "Singapore sauce" dishes. I had never seen or heard of this one before and I wondered if it were one of those dishes that people make up calling it a Singapore dish when it actually isn't. Like the popular Singapore curry noodle dish. My mom always laughs when she sees that on menus because it's not actually a Singapore dish. Regardless I felt it was obligatory to try this "Singapore sauce" dish....when it arrived at the table. I immediately regretted it. It's hard to see in the photo but the color, look and texture of the dish literally looked like vomit. It was a light peachy orange sauce with what looked like egg mixed in to add to the color variation...and then tons of chunks of chicken. It tasted like milk with all purpose seasoning. The rice it came with was SO dry. It was like day or two old rice (which would've been okay to use for fried rice but not as a side). I sent a photo to my parents and they had no idea what the dish was lol The laksa was not good. Lacking richness, flavor...just no. The chicken congee wasn't that bad so we managed to eat that and the laksa but the Singapore sauce dish. No. Just no. The restaurant overall looked very dated which is fine but it definitely looked like it could use a good deep cleaning. They're not all winning dishes but Singapore Fried Rice Noodle is amazing enough for me to come back. I'm addicted to it. It's so damn good. Just the right amount of seasoning and the toppings to go so well together. Some other stuff worth getting are Seafood with singapore sauce, baked pork chop is actually their onion pork chop? still not confirmed but I got it 2 out of 2 times now when i say baked pork chop, Baked portguese sauce chicken rice, and chicken wings(pretty standard, nothing to rave about but i love my salt and pepper chicken wings). The other stuff are ok and if you're not just aiming to get one dish, those are some solid options. Litz restaurant has been here over 30 years, I've passed by many times and everyone tells you to try their Singapore fried rice noodles that they make without the curry sauce. So I came here especially since they are part of the Monterey Park Rewards app where I can earn and redeem points here. The owner was super friendly and she introduced me to many dishes on her Recommended page of the menu that she's proud of beyond the Singapore rice noodles and here's my review: 1) Singapore fried rice noodles: I thought I would miss the curry powder version but I don't. Somehow the combo of the ham, shrimp and squid along with seasoning this dish is super addicting and I can't stop eating it! It's super good with chili oil if you like a kick. 2) Special Chili filet fish: a great appetizer or a dish you have with steam rice. The fish is fried just right where it's light and the best part is the topping of chili and ground pork on top that kicks it up a notch. If spicy is not your thing, you can move the topping aside and it's still a good dish to share. 3) Singapore Laksa = it's a medley of stuff on top like fried tofu and fish cake and shrimp. The soup is very tasty. Huge portion definitely best to share. 4) Baked pork chop rice: now I'm use to the HK style of this dish where they bake it with melted cheese and tomato sauce on top. This version is fried pork chops and then they put this gravy sauce on top with strips of onion. I personally don't like things fried then with a sauce over it...so it wasn't my favorite. 5) Padang curry beef: this was full of flavor and the beef was very tender and easy to eat. Definitely good with steam rice. They now allow dine in during lunch but for dinner you'll have to order it to go as they close at 7pm. The interior is pretty dated but the owner is working on some interior improvements and upgrades so hopefully it will draw more customers. It was nothing special to me. All they did was add squid and spam compared to any other Singapore Rice Noodles. I actually like the usual Singapore Rice Noodles. And for the Singapore Style Laksa, I was sooooo disappointed. This plate looks so good online but the taste just wasn't there. It was so bland and didn't taste good at all. I have been coming here for about 20 years... Nothing has changed from the staff to the dishes. You can take that as good or bad. If you come here, every table will have at least one order of the Singaporean fried rice noodles. It's always been what I have compared other places to and this one is still the best. They still put a good portion of squid/shrimp/ham/egg in there. They also do not put curry powder in there like other cantonese places do and I prefer that. One thing that I will say is that the prices have increased quite a bit and are not really competitive now. The cup of chili sauce used to be substantially better than other restaurant's offerings but I guess it just tastes okay to me now since others have bettered their game. read more

When you are craving Singaporean food, this is the place! My go-to take order is always: 1) Singapore fried rice noodle. Actually more rice stick, it has seafood, bbq pork, and bean sprouts. 2) Penang curry beef. The beef is very tender and the curry is succulent (not too sweet, not too thick). My favorite curry from miles around! 3) Lemongrass fried chicken wings. Great flavor, crispy outside and juicy inside! Usually you would expect it to be more crispy, but instead it is on the wetter side which is the traditional way you make it in China.
