Was truly disappointed in my experience at this restaurant. Service was sub par and our waitress was rude. Food was almost inedible. I asked the waitress if I could sub a vegetable for mashed potatoes. She proceeded to sigh, roll her eyes and say, "They're not even real, they're instant." Who says that? To a paying customer?! If it was an issue, just tell me no. And she was rude about my drink order and how fast I drank it. She asked me what dressing I wanted for my salad. I responded promptly but I'm soft spoken so she didn't hear me. Instead of asking me to repeat myself she sighed again and began to fan herself with her server book. I couldn't believe the amount of attitude. As an appetizer we had the garlic shrimp... Nothing to rave about. Over cooked and entirely too much garlic. For the entree I had the chicken modiga. Over salted, too much gravy... I don't care so much that I didn't like the food. That could just be me. But the waitress was horrible and made me feel like a burden rather than a customer. read more

They had seriously good bloody mary's at Sat. lunch. I've tried them many places and so many times am disappointed. You won't be here! I had the spinach/artichoke dip, it was standard. Not bad, not spectacular. They didn't give me a lot of time with it though, out came lunch. I had ordered a salad so I guess that doesn't take long and I did not specify to hold it - my fault. The salad was HUGE, as in VERY HUGE. It was the large version of the house salad I think but also had salami, ham, etc. It was good....but it was smothered in dressing and then parmesean cheese. The cheese almost dried it out and the other flavors were muted. I'll go again though -- spotted many things on other tables I need to try. read more

Been there many time's! never know what you will get for a salad, this last time my father and I ordered a (8oz filet each) and was served a 12oz new york strip steak cut in half....(One on his plate and the other on mine) the MANAGER told me he would like to believe it was a filet....Ya me to! We like to stop in here to eat before or after St. Louis games. My family loves this place. The food is always hot and delicious. The onion rings are fantastic. We have always had a good experience here. The portions are ginormous and most adults could split an entrée (if you would like). My son in law called weeks ahead for call ahead seating for 20-25 people to be seated at 6:00 pm for a surprise party. The manager called him the day before to confirm the date and time. I went with a group of two other people to Frankie Gianino's on a Friday night. We did not have a terribly long wait (about 25 minutes). We got seated at a table in the bar area. The music in the bar area was rather loud, but they played very good music (mostly country). We were greeted immediately by our server, John. He was one of the most polite and friendly servers I have ever encountered. I ordered the House Burger with soft cheddar cheese. I have to say it was one of the best burgers I have had at a restaurant. There was a ton of fried onions on it and a perfect amount of cheese. I got fries as the side and it was huge portion of them. I had enough leftovers to have lunch the following day. The other people in my group split a pizza and a salad and they both said the pizza and salad were delicious. All of the other restaurant staff we encountered were very friendly and courteous. read more

Portion sizes are for more than one. (I recommend sharing....especially the pastas) Pricing was very fair, patrons are on the higher end for Jefferson County (still the occasional hoosier, it makes it fun though), menu is diverse, rewards program is generous, and its close to home. The only thing I would like to see differently is making it a 100% no smoking establishment. It's not bad if your are on the restraunt side but if you are in the bar area, you will smell smoke while eating. Still a great place with very attentative staff. My wife and I go here for my birthday every year. The Pasta Carbonara is perfect and the sauce on the Fettucini Alfredo is so good! Everything we tried is good. The only issue is sometimes its a little loud sitting near the bar. read more

My wife and I came to your restaurant for the first time yesterday, July 12. We arrived about 12:45 p.m. There was no line, so we immediately made contact with the hostess. She said she would have to get us a table ready. We waited several minutes until she returned and showed us to a table. It was at least 5 minutes before our waiter came to take our drink order, and another 5 minutes before he brought us our drinks. He said he had to run an errand and would come back for our order. The fifth time he walked by our table without even so much as a glance in our direction, we got up and left. read more

My husband and I took our 4 kids (all 11 and under) there for lunch and the service is the best we have had in a long time. The food was delicious and we did not have to ask for anything. Im going to go ahead and give this place a 5 star review. We came here with 3 hours to kill. I am really glad we came here. The MEATBALL SANDWICH. Best I ever had. Period. The bread was a PERFECT little french bread loaf just like the poboys down in New Orleans, and that is rarity for me to find here in STL. Then the meatballs had yummy Italian Sausage, Garlic, Onion and the cheese on top was browned just a little bit which I absolutely love. The fries were seasoned, crispy and hot. The potato skins and salad we got all looked very delicious. I wish I couldve tried it all, but I was too full trying to finish my meatball sandwich. The sandwich was BIG. If you eat here you will get your fill. We couldnt eat it all but we wished we could have.. We also had drinks and a few shots, and went out and hung out on the patio with comfy chairs and a fireplace. We got to see a cool game at our table and on the patio. Terrible customer service. On 09/24/12 we booked a party for 11/03/12. Spoke with the manager John Cummings several times about accomodations/options. We were kind of treated with an attitude from the beginning because it was clear to him that this would a party with separate checks. On 11/02/12 (the day before the party) at 4:00pm we received a phone call letting us know that they wouldn't be able to accomodate our party because a larger party booked one at the last minute. John Cummings lied about all of the communication that took place, or lack thereof. That place is a joke and you should not patronize it. Our entire family have been regular customers there for several years and that will happen no longer. Boycott this place -what a joke. read more

Been awhile since I have been there since my last poor experience. Was with a large group and am surprised. Service was very good and food orders came in a reasonable length of time and was good. Our pizza had been in the oven a little too long which made the crust hard but was overall good. I was puzzled that the place was very empty for Sunday lunch. read more

Giving up on Fridays. This may be our new neighborhood restaurant. Waiter Henry was attentive and knowledgeable. We had the beef tips & noodles, the beef (sirloin) could have been simmered longer, rather tough and chewy. Meatloaf was a large serving, enough take home for couple sandwiches. Great atmosphere! We came on a very busy night; Saturday and Homecoming - the wait was only 30 minutes. The only downside was our server was busy dividing up tickets. My kids & husband brought my mom in law & I out for Mother's Day dinner. Food was great, staff very friendly, reasonable wait time...however...the smell of cigarette smoke was OVERWHELMING. We left before dessert because I was getting a headache, and two of my sons were having issues with their asthma. I was very disappointed. Great times and great food at great prices. Ordered the sampler appetizer and they were out of provel bites (the main reason I ordered the sampler). The kitchen substituted pretzel bites and when I expressed my disappointment to our wonderful server, Brooke, she immediately took action and the manager, Mike, came to our table, expressed his apologies and had the kitchen prep and prepare an entire order of provel bites for us! What a nice way to make the customer feel important . The entree portions are always huge and if you are really hungry and low on cash, try one of the "comfort food" selections. Tonight I had the Beef tips and noodles. The bowl was huge and the beef was high quality and not overcooked or chewy like I've had elsewhere. And it was only 12 bucks! Just the amount of beef in it would just about cost that much in a grocery store. We are big fans of all the Gianino family restaurants. read more
