I love this place for so many reasons but I love the atmosphere. Music is always great which sounds like a weird thing to notice in a restaurant but it makes it inviting and enjoyable. I have been coming here for years and food is always great and margaritas are on point. Love the staff and always super nice even during a busy dinner rush. Parking can be limited so early dinner is always easier to get in to but they get you seated pretty fast even with a lot of people. I highly recommend! read more

Our new favorite spot in the neighborhood. Looks like a hole in the wall but very decent Tex-Mex. Our server who has served us the twice thus far, can't think of his name, is so kind and really attentive. My favorite here is the shrimp enchilada entree. My only drawback on this is that the plate is too small in comparison to other enchilada dishes. They only give u two enchiladas and like 2-3 shrimp. I don't mind paying more but $3 for one more tortilla and no additional shrimp sounds a little overpriced. Other plates are good too and their Margaritas are good considering it's not a fancy Mexican restaurant (mi cocina, meso maya, etc.) They have a good variety of tequila and the bartender is always nice when we decide to sit at the bar. A little bit more of an older crowd considering the area but I recommend it. read more

Terrible customer service. Our waiter was training someone and setting the worst example. He would speak to the woman he was training about the tables he was waiting on right in front of them! When our food came out, our waiter literally stood at our table and pointed at my food to show the woman in training what the entree looks like. There was only one other family in our waiter's section, yet he was not attentive and forgot several things we asked for. The other family in our section seemed equally as annoyed. The food is good but I much prefer frankie's casa - they know how to treat their customers with respect. We will not be returning. read more

Visiting from out of town and my gracious hosts wanted to make sure I got some great food on the way out. A quick trip to Sachse on a Saturday afternoon found us at Frankie' s. Impressive crowd for the middle of the day. Chips, queso and salsa we're all on point. Menu is massive so have a good pair of readers with you. Plenty of choices to kill any Tex-Mex craving. I opted for "Jesse's Platter" (1 beef fajita chalupa, 1 chicken fajita sope with beans, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and Mexican cream. 1 spinach tamale topped with mole). Horrible, just horrible. I've never walked out of a resturant but after how rude the waitress was, we did. The waitress was beyond rude and snatched the menu out of my hands, was rushing us to order and had a horrible attitude. After leaving we found out that Frankie's is under new managent. For texmex, I'm more of a Mi Cocina customer. But I felt like doing something a little different last night, so we went to Frankie's. It's not my first choice because it has too many american options on the menu, but if you're in a party that needs more american options then Frankie's is perfect for you. My favorite thing about the place is the salsa. It's a little spicy, and very flavorful. I wish they'd served it to us in great big bowls instead of the tiny cups, because I like to really load each chip down with as much salsa as I can balance on it. However, the server was kind enough to keep the tiny salsa cups full, so it all worked out. We happened to be there during happy hour, so I had a couple top shelf margaritas (not as good as Mi Cocina's house margarita, but still good and quite potent). My Bear only had one, so he drove us home. I had the beef fajitas. The beef was more tender than any beef fajitas I've ever had. I couldn't eat them all (of course) so I left with a doggie bag. Bear enjoyed his brisket chimichanga, and was also a huge fan of the salsa, so I think we'll be going back to Frankie's. read more

First time here and was not disappointed. We really didn't know what we wanted for dinner but Turtle has been here before and really was craving a margarita. So I also had a whisky. The salsa was awesome. A little spicy kick and a great tomato tang. I had the brisket chimichanga and it was great. No complaints. Our server was great. It got busy but she was on the ball making sure our drinks were filled (no, not the whisky, I only had one). Definitely recommended. read more

Was in the area for work and was looking for a little local place for lunch and I found a winner, this was a great little hidden gem! Service was great, friendly staff and were aware of when refills were needed. Chips and salsa were great. Actual meal lacked seasoning and was a tad bland. I enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. I didn't have a good experience here and didn't think the food was particularly tasty. We ordered fajitas and were surprised when they were delivered without a smoking, sizzling presentation. The staff was hard to locate for drink refills and we even thought it took way too long to cash out . We left most of our food on the table and still no one bothered to ask if anything was needed or could be improved. We paid for our food, tipped the waitress and will likely not return. read more

Kind of a hole in the wall from the outside, but I was in search of good Mole'. I had the Mole' Chicken Enchiladas and they were fantastic. Few places prepare them because of the effort required. I really wanted to like this place because it is always busy but I have no idea why it could be so busy with this quality of food. How can a Mexican restaurant mess up fajitas? Huge chunks of chicken that have no flavor. The beef tastes like it has been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Onions and peppers barely cooked as you can see in the photo. The wrong tortillas provided that I couldn't eat because I'm allergic. The rice and beans were good but sadly that's all I enjoyed out of the many dishes we ordered. There is a very big quality problem that I hope management will look into. Next time I will just buy marinated meat and grill it myself. Lesson learned. read more

If you're a resident of the Sachse area then you've been to this restaurant probably multiple times. Its a small restaurant located off of 78. Its not very big but they do have two small dining areas and a bar area when you walk in. Service is decent. They're pretty quick. If you order an appetizer dont order your main meal for at least 15-20 minutes. Food comes out fast so before you have time to dig into your appetizer your food will already be out if you order them at the same time. The steak fajitas are very good. Tender beef with a decent side of rice and beans. You can sub veggie for $0.50 if you prefer not to have beans or rice. Their salsa is very good. I just with they put it in an actual bowl and not a ramekin that you cant fit a chip in. You end up having to pour salsa over your chips. Overall a decent place. Prices are reasonable and service is good. They have a small private lot that fills up fast. If its one of their busy nights you may fight to find a parking spot. read more

The prices are good, the food is great, the staff are friendly. Have taken family and friends here for lunch and dinner, so obviously it is a place I would recommend! It may seem like a small thing, but the mini-tostada they bring before your meal makes you feel like you won a free prize. Wow, what a hidden gem. The food was fantastic. We had several dishes that we will get again. Mexican street corn already cut off the cob and queso with BBQ brisket. Very tasty. The service was excellent. The manager who was friendly and informative greeted us at the door and we were immediately seated. He let us know they are opening up another Frankie's in downtown Wylie. Santiago was our server. He was the best. Fast and informative. After hearing the ingredients in the tortilla soup my wife was not sure she would like it. Santiago gave her a small taste and it was the best tortilla soup she had ever had. We will be back. read more

You can go wrong with Frankie's. They have great salsa and chips. They also have the special extra spicy sauce for spicy foodies. The draft beers are icy cold and they service is always nice. I love brothy soups, and they have an amazing chicken soup. My husband and I share the fajita for two and request the onions to be extra charred and grill Serrano on the side - they happily obliged. Our kids love it here too. They especially love the cheese enchiladas here. Great place for lunch or dinner. The bar crowd is friendly and act like they al know each other. Eeeehhhhh don't think so. That white queso everyone raves about was good, as was salsa. And the fajita beef was tender. But everything else we had was mediocre. House margarita had a weird taste to it I don't care to drink again. And what's up with the charro beans being $1 extra?? The flavor isn't anything worth mentioning, but it is when they charge $1 extra for them. Not worth it. Something about restaurants with giant menus. While visiting family north of Dallas, we decided to stop at Frankie's based on all of the high ratings. What a disappointment! First, we were told that we had a 15-20 minute wait, which ended up being about an hour. I was ready to leave, but it was getting late and my family kept saying it would only be a few more minutes and it must be good since they were busy. So, finally we're seated and drinks come out quickly. We place our orders and wait just a few minutes for the food to arrive. Maybe I'm spoiled since I travel all over southern Texas and I know what good Tex-Mex is.. and this isn't. I tried to play it safe and order the tacos which weren't even as good as Taco Bell (a place I try to avoid as well). They were very greasy and lacking filling and flavor. The beans weren't refried.. they were more like very thick bean soup. I couldn't eat it. The rice, way overcooked. No flavor.. unless you consider sticky a flavor. I do not know how this place has such good ratings. The service was good, the atmosphere was casual, cramped, and loud, and the food was mediocre at best. Maybe this is the only so-called "tex-mex" place around the area? I kept hearing how they served a strong drink, but I wasn't drinking. Maybe I should have been! read more

Great Mexican food with nice atmosphere. The Margaritas are Great. Food wise Queso w/Brisket is pretty amazing. They do offer Chips & Salsa. The Pollo de Mole was delicious.
