Nice location. Easy to find off of Hwy 78 with plenty of parking. Friendly staff however my waiter didn't disappear his name and he wasn't wearing a name tag. Which bothered me because I like to acknowledge the wait staff in my reviews by name. I ordered the appetizer "street corn" aka elotes. I will be honest the street corn recipe needs to be upgraded. Because this corn was a bougie version of elotes. Lacking the accurate amount of mayo and cheese to actually call it street corn. I was very disappointed especially for the price of $5.00. My main dish was the brisket chimichanga laid on top of a tomato sauce over in queso cheese and garnished with pico. AMAZING would be an understatement because the crispy on the shell and tenderness of the brisket was OUYMT OF THIS WORLD. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quality restaurant with a low key atmosphere. But avoid the street corn. read more

Well I popped in with the kids after spending the day moving in July. The service was good and the food was decent. Quantity of food was decent. My son did have a very irritated stomach after eating there so although the experience there was fine, afterwards not so much. read more

Was tracking down a tractor supply and ran across this place. It was a great find. It was a small building off to itself. The outside was well maintained and the decorations was a mixture of reclaimed wood and rusted metal. It was nice. Had brisket tacos and loved it. The salsa was good the chips were fresh and the wait staff was on point and flawless. Everyone here was friendly. We were seated on the patio and with a warm breeze blowing, it made for a very pleasant afternoon. The beer was cold and wet just the way I like it. It was also happy hour at the time which meant $3 drafts if I am not mistaken. That is a great bargain. I will definitely be back suggest anyone driving by to pay them a visit. read more

Food was good, found that our rude waitress, nickeled and dimed us on our meals without informing us of any additional charges? Example; ordered drink 10 minutes prior to end of happy hour, we were charged full price, salad instead of vegetables, charge full price for substituting veggies for a salad without informing us at the time of order, and we order the same each time we eat there. I'm not sure where the 41/2 star average came from. My grand children live in Wylie so I was excited to see such a highly rated Tex mex establishment close by when I wanted to take my granddaughter out to eat. My standard gauge of any Mexican food place that wants to claim some fame is, they have to bring some good cheese enchiladas with chili con carne. Of course it goes without saying the rice, berms, chips and salsa have to be solid also. When you walk in the front door, the bar is right there. Small with 10-12 spots it was already full with the after work crowd. We sat in the small dinning room to the right. It has the requisite televisions that every place seems to have these days and is alittle on the dark side. My cheese enchiladas had sparse cheese with no onions. The chili con carne on top was watery and flavorless. My granddaughters chicken enchilada was ok according to her and the green chili enchilada remained untouched. Bottom line here is we agreed there is no compelling reason to return to this establishment. We rated it a 5-7 on a 1-10 scale. I'm not sure if the Richardson location has the same owners but we had a similar experience there. read more

Much more expensive to come here vs Papasito's when you factor in kids meals with drinks not included and the cost of the alcohol drinks here. If you like hot sauce, don't eat here! The amount they give you is a joke. They serve their hot sauce in a little, plastic "nut/mint cup". You have to break 1 chip into 4 pieces to even dip it into the cup. They'll give you a refill but they're definitely preferring that you don't want much. Also, their brisket tacos tasted good but the meat was tough, stringy and dry. They give you a serving of lettuce for your tacos but the lettuce is chopped up really tiny and it's also served in one of those little plastic mini-cups. The food here is above average, but don't look twice while you drive by or you'll miss the place. The place seems to be crowded every night, especially weekends. We were told it would be 30 - 45 minutes before we were going to be seated. There were about three open tall tables in the bar so we sat there. The staff was attentive and friendly. My wife and I split the Brian's Enchiladas. Our daughter had the soft fajita tacos (chicken). The server had the kitchen split our plate for us. That was very nice of them to do. My daughter's tacos came with soft corn tortillas. The tortillas were falling apart. The only disappointment was the Tres Leches cake we ordered for desert. When it came out it seemed very "professionally" made so I asked our server if they made the tres leches in-house and she admitted they did not. It was not horrible. It tasted like a tres leches cake that you would buy at a grocery store. It was a let down to have everything else be above average and then have the dessert be below average.
