Tried out Frankies for the first time. Wow! Gotta tell you the food was delicious. The ambiance is nice and quaint and the service was awesome. I ordered Frankies stir fry with chicken and shrimp. Yup, you heard that correct... stir fry at a Mexican restaurant. Omg, it was soooo delicious and a generous portion. I would definitely order again. You know it's got to be good when Frankie puts his name on it. Really yummy . If your looking for some good Tex Mex or a good Asian stir fry, you should give this place a try. (Sachse location) Has a hole in the wall, local gem, feel about it. The food is tasty, and worth it if you don't feel like leaving the area. Service is dependent on the server, and can be inconsistent. Overall it stays in the rotation due to location and a lack of better local options. I wish Yelp had a way to allow for .25 percentage increments on the overall rating (I would rate this restaurant a 3.75)...since they don't, I rounded up. read more

Very upset today on our visit to the Frankie's Sachse location. We have always gone to Frankies on Sunday because they have 1/2 price drinks all day on Sunday. We usually go to the Richardson location. Today we went to the Frankie's Sachse location and after we got the bill, we were told that they don't honor the 1/2 price drinks. They said Frankie's sister now owns the Sachse location and she doesn't honor the drink special. WTF? If your name is FRANKIE's, shouldn't you have the same specials at all locations? Very disappointed in the food, service and drinks at the Sachse location. We told them we would not be back. Will return to the Richardson location from now on. RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!! read more

This is my go to restaurant! It never lets me down. I love the chicken fried rice! I get it with jalapeños added. It's is so hot and wonderful. They have so many great dishes. I was so shocked the first time I went there and read chicken fried rice on the menu! They also have Mexican lasagna. Go and try these dishes. You won't regret it. read more

We had catering from here the other day and this place was just okay. Pros: + Great tortillas for fajitas + Sopapillas - definitely the highlight of any meal. Although I wouldn't get these catered, because they don't hold up to having to sit out for quite some time. Cons: - Mixing meat - I have to knock off a star for mixing beef and chicken. We split the Mexican Lasagna! It was SO GOOD! Different and original. Staff has been great, chips, Salas and queso were all very good too. Salas bowls were very small (small little condiment to-go plastic cups dues to COVID I'm sure) but aside from that, everything else was perfect. Frankie's stays busy and there's usually a line at the door. Service is good, the staff is very friendly. The reason for 2 stars is that unfortunately the menu has suffered from the restaurant's success. In order to serve food in a timely manner and get customers in and out the door, the menu is streamlined to most of the same, just with different sauces. What is lacking is unique, signature dishes. There are a dozen varieties of enchiladas, tacos and the like. Essentially, Frankies has become Rosa's Cafe. Bottom line, if you're just wanting a decent, run of the mill Tex-Mex meal, Frankies is consistently average. If you're tired of the same old same old, better look elsewhere. Frankie's has slipped down the list of recommended restaurants in recent months. On the plus side, Wylie/Sachse doesn't have many restaurants with ambience, so Frankie's scores. On the negative, La Joya has more unique options and Jhonny's is coming to downtown Wylie so Frankie's needs to up their game on the mediocre menu options. read more

We had heard of Frankie's many times before actually trying it and I was very excited to finally go this last May for Mother's Day. Like someone else said, it isn't flashy or anything like that but I don't get out much and really was just wanting some great food so that type of stuff doesn't bother me. They really did a great job. I had cheese enchiladas and my husband had something meaty. I also tried a mango margarita and it was all so delicious. The service was great and we had perfect view of the bar area where there were lively tipsy people being silly and just having a great time. My husband grumbled at the bill a bit, it did seem a little pricey to me too, but I feel like with everything in the world getting more and more expensive, we probably just don't get out enough to actually know if the food is really all that expensive or not. LIke I said, I don't get out much but I would (and have!) recommend it for anyone who likes good food an a very chill atmosphere. read more

At first glance I was wondering where they were putting all the people belonging to the large number of vehicles in the parking lot! The building is definitely a hole in the wall, but that's not a bad thing! Four of us were seated immediately m, and believe me, they were very busy! Just average for us. Chips were your ordinary bagged chips. Chimichanga was big, but they put the rice and beans inside, which was different. Queso, to thick to eat and flavorless. Kids meal not worth it. Server never came back for chip refill, nor drink refills. Will not go back. read more

I really like Frankies. Lots of really good meal options. It's usually packed and for my group there's always a wait so we usually hit the 5ish dinner crowd to get in and out. Service is usually really good. The only thing inconsistent is their queso. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's so thick it's no longer queso. But they are always good about it being returned. read more

The downtown Wylie location is our favorite. Service is always fast and friendly. Food is affordable and always great.

Great Tex-Mex and even better drinks. Service can be a little hit or miss. Definitely get the mini sopapillas if you have room after dinner.
