Me and my girlfriend heard about this Mexican restaurant, had never been to it, so we decided to try it. We chose to sit at the bar and order a few drinks and some dinner and became a little dissatisfied with how our service began. The bartender that was working named Morgan, started out very stand offish and seemed as though she did not want to serve us and as we continued to sit there, her attitude became worse as she became snippy and she seemed to have a very bad attitude toward us. I would recommend the food as it was very good and we were greeted by friendly staff at the door, but due to the bartenders service, I would not recommend this place to my friends and others because of how I feel that they would be treated and it made for a very unpleasant visit and I would hope that people would be treated better who choose to eat and sit at the bar. read more

Favorite Tex/Mex, Mex/Mex place by far. So many creative dishes and great combos. The atmosphere is good, but the place can be busy on the weekends, so make sure you either go a little early or be prepared for a slight wait. read more

Frankie's is my favorite sit-down spot in town. The variety is excellent. Everything I've tried off the menu has been delicious. They have a great variety of not only more traditional enchiladas, and other dishes, but unique spins on the more traditional. Mashed potato brisket enchiladas? Sounds a little odd, but they are to die for, plus they look beautiful on the plate. The salsa and chips alone are worth the trip. The wait can be a bit long, especially on weekends, but they have been working on improving the waiting experience by adding spots to sit outside the door, and making some other changes to the entrance. The building is awkward, but the service and food is so good, it's worth it. read more

I had the chicken mole, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was unbelievable. Our server kept our drinks full, and the management stopped by our table twice to check on us. Let me start with that over all this restaurant food quality was the best I've had in a long time maybe even the best ever. restaurant ambience was nice. again extremely good food for a hole in the wall place. the only reason this place got four stars was the service. We have heard all the rave about this place and was very excited to try it. First off, this place is way too dark when you first step inside. We couldn't see anything for a few seconds until our eyes adjusted. Second, the waiter was very misleading, he asked if we wanted guacamole or queso, so we said guac. It's not free, it's consider an appetizer and was charged $8 for it. He did the exact same thing with the couple next to us and they responded with guac as well. Third, I asked for hot sauce, assuming that he'll give me a bottle of some kind but instead he brought me a bowl of really hot sauce with all these jalapenos in it and of course, it wasn't free. Before we left, we saw a waitress bring her customers a bottle of hot sauce, the kind I thought I was going to get when I asked for hot sauce. Anyways, I do have to admit, the free salsa was very good. I didn't care for the guacamole at all. The guac at Chipotle even tastes better and they only charge $2, not $8. My husband ordered the brisket enchiladas and it was very good. I ordered the beef fajitas, it was only ok and the refried beans were dried and a weird texture. I only took a few bites. Not sure if I will be returning. read more

I absolutely love this place. They have a variety of food and pretty great prices. I usually get the burger or the burrito. Both get me so stuffed lol. Living in the wylie area there's not much Tex-mex food, but this is one of the best ones. read more

Some of the best Tex-Mex around and I've tried them all. Same menu as it's sister restaurant in Richardson and just as good. I mostly stick with they house specialties which are all innovative twists on enchiladas and all really good. Mashed potato enchilada topped with shredded brisket, chicken enchiladas topped with fried eggs, cheese enchiladas with carnitas? All great. The service is very good and the complimentary tostada served when you sit down is a nice touch. The only downside to the place is the facility itself. It's small and gets crowed quickly. Expect a wait often. The building is old, if you sit by a window there will be a draft. Parking can be an issue. Small price to pay for the quality of the food. read more

My family and I eat at Frankie's at least once a week. When I say family I mean between 3-15 of us. The food is amazing and the service is always good. Sometimes depending on the size of our party we have to wait up to an hour to get a table and we don't mind waiting! I usually get the brisket tacos or brisket nachos...and they are fabulous!!!! My family and I ate here tonight, it was so good, the frozen margarita was very good and strong but not very tart so it does not leave that nasty taste. The brisket tacos were excellent, the beef fajita chimichanga was so good. The queso was excellent, and the chips and salsa was very good. As was our service, our server was very good!! This is the best Mexican food we have found in the Dallas area and that's saying quite a bit since we have lived here on and off for over thirty years. The people are so nice and the creative offerings at Frankie's are amazing. I love their mole sauce on anything and my wife loves their brisket tacos so much she can't order anything else (though she tries my entrees and thinks they are outstanding.) Their happy hour drinks are pretty awesome as well. This is our new, favorite place to eat. Don't worry about the crowd if you find one; the wait will be well worth the trouble. Enjoy! read more

My boyfriend and I came to Frankie's on a Wednesday night at around 6:30 and it was PACKED! From the second we walked in, everyone we had interaction with was so friendly and so welcoming. Something that is very rare now. For being so packed, it wasn't loud at all. Extremely good crowd of people. The service is impeccable, and never let us run out of drinks or chips! The queso. We eat out a lot, have been to every mexican/tex mex restaurant there is and this is hands down the best queso I've ever had. It's like a white cheddar/jalapeño/spinach queso. I do not like jalapeño or spinach, and it still was the best queso ever. I had the Amigos Enchiladas, which is just 1 chicken enchilada, 1 ground beef, and 1 cheese enchilada. SO GOOD! I only get enchiladas at Mexican restaurants, and these were amazing. The ground beef enchilada was the best I've ever had. Now...the brisket enchiladas. My boyfriend had them just to try and get something different for once, and WOW! They are OUTSTANDING! Highly recommend. So flavorful. Wonderful crowd, awesome service, and WOW food!
