This place is not very spacious. Very limited seating. They got the order wrong and argued with me about it. They thought I said something other than a wet Asada breakfast burrito and for some reason they tried to get out of the mistake by blaming me. That's the reason for the one star. Though, the chips are really good and their salsa has just the slightest touch of spice to it. I got here at 8:53am. It's 9:06am now and here comes the rush of people looking to get some breakfast. I'm just glad I got here before they all did because who likes to wait. Yet another reason to drop this restaurants rating... other peoples orders came out before mine. There's a LARGE difference between how they treat people. Would not be going back and will not be bringing friends as why would I want to bring them to a play who treats people poorly and gets your order wrong (then blames you for it). read more

I guess the specialty here is burritos. I got the chicken enchiladas and I'm so disappointed:-(. I feel like the cook was like today I'm not going to add any flavor the sauce for the enchiladas was so bland the chicken inside had no flavor. I've had better enchiladas in a hospital cafeteria. The beans and rice bland. I give them credit for the price the plate is well served but what good is a lot of food if it is not good. I suggest they hire someone with some flavor. The salsas for the chips did have Flavor I threw that on the food to try to rescue it. I guess stick to the burritos it's a no on the enchiladas. read more

You can call in your order as well. The fries are okay, nothing too special. But what kind of weirdo eats fries with burritos anyway? (Me, I'm the weirdo.) "BREAKFAST BURRITO!" I screamed as I drove down Fairfax in search of this place. I scooped up a chorizo b-fast burrito on my way to work, and honestly, it made the day tolerable. I was working at a very boring accounting job, and this was just the spice I needed (after I added way too much tapatio for most humans to tolerate - it needed it, it really did). I've been meaning to try this place since their banner reads, "The Best Tacos in Los Angeles" and I just had to try them. Oh, and they're $1.35 each! Frank's: Serving Mexican and American food since 1954! My server (quite possibly the owner) told me they used to be at a different location for about 30 or so years and at this location for about 7 years. He was really friendly and even asked if it was my first time here and he told me how customers from the old location come here and how this location brought about new customers and I told him this is a really good location near The Grove and all. They knew the regulars by name, which gave it a great homely feel and I intend to come back..maybe they'd know my name if I go enough times! It felt pretty homely not only because of the people but just by the decor. Fresh chips and salsa is good. The salsa roja, from what I can tell, is made fresh with tomato, habanero, cilantro, and more and it wasn't too hot. The salsa verde was hotter and I used a little bit of it with the chips and some with the tacos. The tacos were pretty good. They're four inches in diameter and you get two corn per taco and a modest amount of meat for $1.35 (fish and hardshell tacos are $2.00). I was disappointed that they were out of carnitas, so I'll have to return soon! I was told the meats are fresh and they tasted so. I had the asada and the adobada, which were pretty flavorful and they were marinated pretty well. I had the fish, which was battered and in pieces and it was a delight. Chicken's always good. Topped with cilantro, chopped onions, and lime, it was great! I think I found my local favourite taco restaurant! I felt like a horchata and that was pretty good. Again, tacos at $1.35 is great! I didn't know what to expect other than what yelp reviewers have said. And mostly I wanted someone else to cook for me. I like to judge others, you see :D I ordered the Horchata. It most definitely didn't disappoint. I sipped it delicately, like a fragile commodity. I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito and hands down I was all very much like "WHOA". I liked my first bite so much that I gladly kept trying more bites! The potatoes were perfectly fried. The egg, well, whatever it was doing was amazing. The sausage was fragrant and infused all the other burrito ingredients with it's warm flavor. This is a perfectly salted burrito. The flavors have a subtle delicacy and then, and ONLY then when you drizzle that green sauce on do you achieve Breakfast Burrito heaven. I know good food. I know this is GOOD food. If you don't like it, good, leave and make room for those of us who know good food. My bill was tiny and the words I have for my love today, many. Amongst the complications of LA, this place keeps it simple. It keeps it old school and it's just that place you've been looking for, the off the beaten path foodie. Stop the presses - everything you've heard about Frank's is true. Hangover Saturday once again led my roommates and I on a journey for satisfying Mexican food. Frank's, with its odd hours (my one critique only because I want it 24 hours a day!) gave us the push we needed (they close @ 3PM on Sat.) so along we went! Glorious. Chips and Salsa as soon as you sit down. They are refilled before you even reach the last chip in the basket. Service is impeccable and the food is fantastic. I got the Chorizo breakfast burrito which made me all sorts of happy. Furthermore, it's only $5. Can you believe that?! I also tried my friend's Bacon breakfast burrito and a wet chicken burrito. Everything was freaking AMAZING. You know when you eat somewhere and you instantly think about your next visit because you love the place so much? This is that place. I was over in West Hollywood the other morning for a dr's appt, and was in need of a little breakfast afterwards so this is where I found myself. It's a tiny establishment where you order at the window, and then they bring you the food. The gals working there were nice as could be, and told me to pay after I ate. So with all the Mexican choices - breakfast burritos, chorizo and eggs, etc. - I decided to go with good 'ol French Toast and I'm glad that I did. This is a splurge for me, with butter, powdered sugar and lots of syrup... it was very tasty indeed! I have no complaints about this place other than parking is rough (street only). I lucked out and found a space very close, but if it was at a busier time, it might be grim. Nothing fancy here, but solid eats. read more

So I was SOOOOOOO disappointed with my breakfast burrito :( First off I ordered a bacon n sausage breakfast burrito, and ordered it togo... When I got to the car and opened my container I noticed it had no eggs!!!! Who sales a breakfast burrito with no eggs?!?!... So I went back and complained... I watched how they only cracked ONE FREAKING EGG in the sauce pan.. Then dumped the insides of my burrito on the flat grill to mixed everything together OOOHH HELLLLLLL NOOOOOO!!!.. I drive by this place all the time and finally had to try it, I'm so glad that I did. It's a small place that's situated between a bar and a pizza joint. The cooks move fast and the service is low key, which I love in a restaurant. They are straight to the punch and give you great food, not healthy at all but that kind of "errmahgerddd, I'm craving some bomb.com-fill-me-up food." Their sandwiches are all under $5, which is amazing for this side of town. I got the tuna melt for me and a pastrami for a friend. Both were awesome. The pastrami meat was grilled so it was crispy and the tuna melt was just a well-made albacore and chedda deliciousness. Must try. Oh, and if you're ordering to-go, don't ask for a fresh-squeezed orange juice when they are super busy because the lady blatantly told me she wouldn't have time to make it. Haha.
