Meat and cheese.

Very much enjoyed Fabio's hospitality. Really small restaurant, worth the wait, or better yet, make a rezie (on The Fork). Everything is delish. The place is loaded with heartwarming charm.

Fraschetteria was a literal dream in the midst of touristy Rome. We could not tell which restaurants were good or not UNTIL we walked in and saw how small the restaurant was. You definitely need to make a reservation; we saw many parties get turned away while we were dining. Every item that we had was wonderful. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on this menu. We started with a really great Bruschette that was full of salami and drizzled with truffle honey. The Carbonara & Lasagne were great. The Porchetta was possibly the best meat I've eaten in all of Italy, you HAVE to get it if you come. Service was really great as well! Just be aware that you have to go down a pretty narrow staircase and that the tables are all close together.

If you're reading this review, it's not by chance. You're probably searching for the best restaurants in Rome -- and if you hadn't stumbled upon this review, you might never have found this place. Fraschetteria Roma isn't easy to spot, and it's not on a street you'd typically find yourself walking down. But trust me -- you're lucky you did. This tiny restaurant, with barely eight tables, served some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Every dish felt authentic and perfectly balanced, like it came straight from someone's home kitchen ...it might have. The flavors were rich but never heavy, the ingredients fresh, and the service warm and genuine. It's the kind of experience that reminds you why you travel -- to find places like this. No fancy décor, no gimmicks, just real Italian cooking from good people. Truly unexpected, and absolutely unforgettable.

If there is one restaurant you need to go to during your visit to Rome, come here. Without a doubt, this was the best food I have ever had in my life. This restaurant is very small, so you should definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There are very few tables so it will be tight, but it is so beyond worth it. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. You could tell that the staff was passionate about the food. The food came out piping hot and all of the pasta was fresh and homemade. The pasta was so good, that we ordered a second round. The lasagna literally moved me to tears it was that unreal. Please take my advice and do not skip this restaurant!

House made Tiramisu and espresso

THIS RESTAURANT IS A MUST. Stumbled across this thanks to Yelp. I was in my last day of a work trip and had been eager to make my last evening count. I knew I was in the midst of touristy chaff and was desperate not to fumble dinner. What a total sleeper gem. Unassuming, tucked off a Via Vittorio Veneto, just around the corner of a small street, blink and you'd miss it, is this six table slice of Roma in a walk down. Price is unbeatable. Service is on point. An absolute masterclass in simplicity and restraint. I had the bruschetta pomodoro, Tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffles, house made tiramisu with espresso, and two glasses of white (which I ultimately bought a bottle to go home). I only wished I wasn't dining solo so I could have tried more. But, I will say that dining solo was my saving grace to get a table quickly. This was one of my top five meals to date.

The food was amazing, we got here as soon as they opened. The service was fast and great we were in less than 40 mins

Amazing experience. Felt very local and intimate. Everything was amazing especially pasta and prosciutto. Lemon cello spritz was a great starter. Recommend a reservation since there are very few tables.

Tiny gem of a restaurant tucked in a side street in the XX September neighborhood. Steep stairs going down from the street so accessibility is limited for those needing it. Extensive menu with delicious choices for appetizers, pasta, first, second courses, drinks, salad and dessert. Staff is small but service is polite and speedy. When I was there it quickly filled up with one person willing to dine on the stair landing so that says something. Seats about 25-30. Short walk to Trevi Fountain, 15 minutes or so.

I live for pleasant surprises like this one. Almost a literal hole in the wall, they only have 6 tables. I wanted a break from pizza and pasta and went with the nearest place with porchetta. It did not disappoint!

Small place. Intimate atmosphere. Bruschetta was good. Lasagna and amatriciana were very good. Prices were reasonable. Service was excellent!

It's a quaint little restaurant with great food! Very unpretentious and the service was fast. I had the Caccio et Pepe with truffle and it's heaven! We had the pistachio cake as dessert and it's just oozing with deliciousness. Highly recommend restaurant! It's right by the Capuchin Crypt too!

Came around 8 so it was winding down on the weeknight by the time we got there. The food was 10/10 and the prices were great.

As a Southern American trying to navigate Rome, I'm still completely confused. I cannot for the life of me figure out north vs. south or east vs. west in this city. Every street somehow looks historic, beautiful, and exactly the same. By 9 PM, after walking more than 10 miles today and standing in countless lines -- one for over an hour -- I was exhausted. I was close to my hotel and started looking for somewhere to eat. I had already passed Sofia earlier and really didn't want to backtrack even a few blocks. But after going the wrong direction again and somehow ending up right back near it, I figured that was a sign. So, Sofia it was. My ordering skills in Italy are still not exactly professional level. I really need a local Italian to help me. Yeah, I'm slow... remember, I'm from the South. I ordered the Mezza Maniche Carbonara. I mean, you can't really go wrong with noodles, cheese, and pork, right? A few minutes after ordering, they brought out this little appetizer-looking thing that I'm still confused about. It was this tiny little ball about the size of my thumb. I took one bite and it was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I'm not even sure I want to know what was in it, but at that point I was hungry enough not to ask questions. Then the pasta arrived. Drumroll... First bite? Absolutely divine. Rich, creamy, cheesy pasta with perfectly cooked pork mixed throughout. Fantastic. I devoured the entire plate, chased it down with a Coke, grabbed my glass bottle of water, and walked down the street carrying it like a Roman wino. Great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect little outdoor dining setup on one of Rome's tiny city streets

Inside there's a bakery with all sorts of treats, and behind that, the restaurant opens up into a large dining area with big brick arches. It looks grand but is very casual. All the staff are super friendly and speak English. We tried a margherita pizza with mushrooms and prosciutto, tonnarlli cacio e Pepe with artichokes, and carbonara. Both pastas were fantastic with cheesy and creamy with a hint of spice from pepper. The pizza was awesome. If you enjoy thin crust or are carb sensitive this is for you. For dessert we tried maritozzo, basically a cream filled baguette which wasn't my favorite.

Overall, the food was quite good here and they had decent sized portions. Our favorite dish there was an artichoke carpaccio which came with shavings of pecorino, olive oil, arugula, and lemon juice -- surprisingly good! Pasta was thick and chewy, so it was quite filling, and it came with plenty of sauce. They have a decent selection of coffee, beer, and wine as well. The space is nicely decorated so it's fine if you're looking for something casual or for something a little nicer as well.
