A local diner with multiple locations opened a new place in old digs. We visited this location on the first day of business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A clean version of the older sisters it's a classed up version of the kitschy chain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is classic diner style food. The same quality of service and food are served here as the other locations. I do recommend this place for go to diner fare.

I'd give this place ten stars if I could. Great breakfast. Excellent service. Food comes out lightning fast and hot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is immaculately clean for a diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff AND customers are friendly which is oddly noticeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a happy place, and I love that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Alexia was our server today and she was awesome... thank you for a great experience!

We tried out the newest location of Freeway Cafe close to our home for brunch last weekend. We came in and were told to seat ourselves. We did so in a sparsely populated area in the back. I wasn't sure if I wanted breakfast or lunch but thankfully was there when both were being served since I decided on lunch. The food was decent, the service good and pretty much what you expect from a diner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I lost my appetite when a group of older gentlemen came in, sat right behind me and began a loud political conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wrapped up my remainders and left quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance became grossly political and overly loud which ruined the taste in my mouth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This has nothing to do with the waitstaff but I do feel that the cafe itself does attract people of this type, which does make me less inclined to dine there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If they were seating people, I doubt they would have placed these two tables immediately next to one another. I would encourage them to begin seating tables to avoid seating parties who are obviously going to ruin one another's meals next to one another.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Kai Vietnamese Cuisine is currently my favorite Vietnamese restaurant for pho and fresh spring…read morerolls in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area. Located in downtown Tulsa, Kai Vietnamese Cuisine offers customers authentic Vietnamese food with a modern atmosphere. The restaurant is the only Vietnamese restaurant that offers a bar serving alcohol. The Vietnamese pho at Kai was delicious. The broth was savory and aromatic. The pho vegetables plate was bountiful. My favorite aspect of the soup was the pho noodles, just soft enough to maintain that springy texture that's so difficult to achieve. The fresh spring rolls were also excellent. Kai does not shy from giving customers jumbo size spring rolls. I also love the hot tea served at this restaurant which uses dried tea leaves. If there's a criticism with Kai, it would be the lack of variety of meats in their combination pho which only had 3 different meats, far fewer than what's standard for this dish.

I was genuinely upset I didn't have enough room to finish the remaining broth! The sandwich was also extremely delicious and we ate on the patio, such a vibe! I had the deluxe egg salad today, it was basically the regular sammy but with bacon. The bacon was ... meh. Thick and a bit overcooked. The sandwich itself was good tho. The location has changed since I last visited. It's on a corner spot, with outside sitting space as well as inside. it's like a real restaurant now. Before it was a small walk in with only a few patio tables outside, in and out, take it to go. Now, it's a full on experience. The staff was really nice. Eating outside was pleasant, it was cloudy, so the sun wasn't heating us up, tho there are trees around. In the evening the outside area is in the sun. It's a beautifully delicious place. They now serve breakfast along with lunch options. Really great food!

The food quality was excellent, and the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of the most unique parts of the visit was learning that the person seated at the table next to us was the previous owner. She is still a regular customer, and her photo is proudly displayed on the wall in the restaurant. That says a lot about the history, loyalty, and character of this place. I also accidentally left my credit card behind and did not realize it until about an hour and a half later. I called the restaurant, and the management immediately helped resolve the issue. They kindly arranged to mail it to my home in Los Angeles, and I have now received it safely. That level of honesty and customer care is rare. A special thank you to the management for handling everything so professionally, and to Heather for her kindness, attentiveness, and outstanding service. Highly recommend this spot for great breakfast, quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and a team that truly cares about its customers.

Then I found Jinya Ramen. The Tonkotsu Black came out looking like a supermodel. The pork chashu was cooked so perfectly it practically melted in my mouth. The noodles had me one bite away from checking flights to Tokyo. If nostalgia had a texture, it would be those noodles. The egg? Soft boiled perfection. That beautiful jammy center deserved its own spotlight and possibly a small round of applause. I also ordered the pork gyoza, and whoever pan-fried those deserves a raise immediately. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--basically what every dumpling dreams of becoming. My only tiny complaint: you've got to season your own broth a little. But honestly, compared to some of the so-called "Japanese ramen" spots I've tried in the U.S., this place is five stars and then some. The service was fast, attentive, and genuinely caring--it felt authentic, not forced. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay for a while.

It is almost as good as Japan's so I was fairly impressed. The tonkotsu ramen was good although I didn't think the bowl had enough broth. No random American fillers so love that. The chicken karaage was fine. I don't think I would get that again. The matcha tiramisu was divineeee though. Highly recommend getting that. I do wish it was slightly cheaper and closer to south tulsa. The tables could be cleaner too. Anyway, Jinya is a good spot and the vibe was on point.
