Just had our furnace undergo a winter service maintenance (just signed up for yearly maintenance), by this same company whom we purchased the HVAC system thru, 3 years ago. Just like the installation then, the service maintenance done by them was flawless. Very pleased with the service I received from Freschi's technicians, Daniel and Angela. My AC compressor stopped working. They came out exactly when they said they would, called ahead to let me know they were coming, diagnosed the problem very quickly and repaired the power supply, which had partly melted inside where I couldn't see it. They showed me the burned-out component and they had a replacement right there in their van. They went the extra mile and cleaned my filter and hosed the compressor coils. They also gave me good advice on how to keep the AC unit running better and more efficiently. Freschi will always be my first choice for AC and heater repair. read more

Two days ago, I tracked down and contacted the subcontractor that managed the permit and inspection services, Archon Energy Solutions. The person on the other line said they never got a call or update from Freschi regarding my permits. They helped me iron things out and made sure all my permit and inspection documents are up to date. I was able to finalize the inspection today. Will Zahniser was helpful and he pulled one of his guys, Adrian, on a current job site to finalize the work. Thank you. Basic courtesy and simple communication in the front office would have been enough to avoid going through a year long nightmare permitting issue. Lessons learned from Freschi: Don't assume. Always ask for a valid license, and insurance from the contractor even though you have used their service. I assumed the Service Experts branch in Concord is as good and as efficient as the one in Dublin (now in Livermore). Just because they provided you a fully licensed good service 8 years ago does not mean a branch unit will be just as good. Make sure to find the right contact person within the organization. If I did not have Will's contact information, I probably would have been once again put on a wild goose chase if I called the main office line instead. --------------------------------------------------------- 7/18/2021 I have not received updated permits from the mail promised two weeks after my last phone call. The person who called me said I am going to receive new inspection reports two to three weeks so we can put this issue behind us. Almost four weeks later, I am still waiting for the inspection documents. I have made three courtesy calls to Freschi, the three people behind the other line guaranteed a call back from their managers the same day. They all have a canned response of "escalating my issue" so the managers will expedite my complain. No call backs from all three phone calls. Instead, I am now getting aggressive text and phone calls telling me my warranty is about to expire and that I need for them to service my system. read more

My A/C went out the night before so I called a Freschi to the rescue! Although when they came it started to work again and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. As long as it is working again. I was actually very happy with their service the first time. I called them on Father's Day and they came same day. It was a hot day and my AC stopped working. They were able to fix it in about 1hr or so. I was very happy. It is now winter time, my heater isn't working. I am about to bring my new born baby home I called them Dec 4th and they came fairly quickly. They looked at what the problem was. Seems like I need a new Igniter. They say it's an easy fix but they need to order the part. I was told it would arrive in 1 week. Two weeks go by, I was being very patient. NO ONE ever called me for an update. I had to call TWO weeks later. They said the part had just arrived. We scheduled an apt for them to instal it and 30 min later they call me back to tell me it's the wrong part. I was still very patient with them. They said they were going to order the correct part and it should arrive in TWO Days! They also said they were going to call around to see if they were able to find the part elsewhere for a sooner installation. Again, two days go by and still no communication from their part. I called and once again they received the wrong part. I have my new born home in the middle of winter with my heater not working. I also have a toddler with asthma who's asthma has been worse because of how cold it is. I have been very patient. There is no communication. I'm still waiting for them to make it better but it doesn't seem like they care. I've explained my situation to them multiple times and one month later they still can't call me to update me or fix my heater. read more

I would absolutely not recommend this business. After our heater went out, every piece of interaction we had with this business left a bad taste in our mouth. No sense of urgency, one of the females working the office was rude to my husband, had to call multiple times to follow up. Had to get a technician out second day in a row after the first technician's recommendation didn't work to keep our heat on. First technician that came out was very unprofessional, and was so concerned with how he was going to run my landlord's credit card before he even did anything.... The credit card was provided at the beginning of the interaction with these guys by the landlord, yet the technician needed to make several phone calls to discuss this from my hallway, two minutes into the job, in front of my daughter and I...and my heater didn't end up getting fixed. Surprise surprise. I requested someone new to come the next day to properly diagnose. That guy was really nice. turns out we needed a furnace replacement, and he told my landlord the details and got the thumbs up to do it. We called this morning to get information on the turn around and were treated like second class citizens because we're renters. Since the landlord himself and my family had rotten experiences with this company thus far, we opted to go with a different company for this costly repair. The new company came out the same day, diagnosed, replaced my furnace, and also fixed some messed up heating duct in the crawlspace that was spiking up my bill. Intensely pressured us to join the membership program to save money when the final cost after all the potential discounts they offered was still $1,500 more than the quotes I later received from other companies. I requested an appointment and never got a call back or an email confirming the time, only a call thirty minutes before their arrival that I unfortunately didn't pick up, so I wasn't ready for them to walk through the house. The technician was polite and seemed knowledgeable but the extreme cost, pressure to join the membership (which cost something around $120 a year for a free system checkup and parts replacement), and the lack of correspondence was overall a poor experience and I wouldn't recommend their services. read more

technician came for a scheduled maintenance of our gas furnace, exchange of filters etc. Diagnosed a gas leak and recommended at least gas valve exchange for approx 1000 usd or upgrade to an entire new Lennox system for approx 15 000 usd or lease through Freschii. weeks went by and replacement gas valve never arrived. Our heater stopped working after a handyman was crawling around in our attic. Unfortunately we didn't find out until about 6pm on a Friday when most places are closed. We tried troubleshooting ourselves, as our Google Nest kept alerting us that there wasn't any power, but could not get the heater to turn on. We called Freschi and spoke with dispatch and they said that someone would reach out to us when they could arrive at our house. Jim called us, and said that he was overbooked but didn't want to leave us in a bind and offered to troubleshoot. He had us open up the panel, pull pieces out and investigate. He was very patient and articulate as he had to describe different pieces and parts that we were not familiar with. We ended up finding out that a fuse was blown by the handyman when he was connecting our attic fan. Jim told us that we could purchase a replacement fuse and that if it doesn't work, we would definitely need support. The HVAC system in our 30 year old, 2400 sq ft ranch home had been performing poorly since we purchased this house 4 years ago. Some rooms were either too cold during heating season or too hot during cooling season. So the old system was operating, but very poorly in my mind. The old system was a hodgepodge of equipment from 3 manufacturers Bryant AC, Trane coil, an International furnace. There was a duct that exhausted under a kitchen counter heating the contents of the cabinet in the winter so much that chocolate melted! The vent cooled the cabinet during the summer and I wondered if it really cooled the room. I selected 5 very reputable contractors to bid on this job which I knew would be expensive. I do not expect to move anytime soon and the house is equipped with solar panels that cannot be expanded further due to surrounding trees. So I wanted the absolute most energy efficient system to take full advantage of the available solar and accepting the long payback as I expect to own the home for a long time. I used Costco in Danville as one of the bidders visiting with Diane at the Lennox kiosk. She arranged for Art to visit my home and develop a proposal. Several contractors recommended changes to the supply ducts but only Art recommended adding an additional return to the furnace. This made sense to me as I expect that the newer high efficiency furnaces will run with lower fan speeds and thus need to "breathe in" more easily. He also as all did agree to relocate that annoying kitchen cabinet vent. So I chose Costco/ Freschi Service Experts. There Lennox equipment was the most efficient and while the initial cost was higher, the life time evaluated costs were much less because of the extremely high and increasing electric rates of PG&E. My review of manufactures revealed some reliability issues in some suppliers but key to a successful installation was the installing crew and their experience, training, and certification by the manufacturer. Arriving on time and ready to go was an install crew headed by Alan. They promptly and skillfully performed the tasks of removing and installing the equipment like a high performance world class sports team. I observed Eric, Rich, Will, and others whose names I forgot each working diligently and effectively removing and installing the equipment working in the our yard, garage, attic, and in the crawl space below the house. Seemingly (to me) the most difficult task was to install the new refrigerant line to the new coil. They showed me the old line which had been pinched when it was installed. This reduced cross sectional in the old line probably reduced the efficiency of the old AC unit. They were very careful to install the new larger diameter line with out kinks or disturbing the insulation by having people outside the house, below in the crawl space and at the entrance to the coil. It was impressive team work! The total installation took two days to complete. The cleaned and swept the garage floor and was very clean in performing all their work and removing my old equipment. Part of the replacement was a duct leakage test. The crew was attentive to fixing leaks in the old supply system and repairing any damaged duct insulation. The system passed and a pile of testing paperwork emailed and mailed to me. I put the system into operation and immediately I saw that the cold rooms were now heated uniformly with the rest of the house. I will update this review when cooling season hits Danville this summer. For now I highly recommend the Costco/ Freschi Service Experts team. read more

Do not hire this company if you expect honesty and professionalism. I live in a small condo. I have an old heating/ac system and the heat stopped working in the fall. I called Freschi, and a rep came over for a free consultation. He told me the whole system needed to be replaced and quoted a price I believed was high, but I know these things aren't cheap. Since I am a senior citizen living on a fixed, and limited, income, I don't have a pot of money to hand over for this sort of thing, or for anything. So I agreed to the price because the company offers a payment plan. This of course ends up costing twice the price over a 10-year period, but I believed I had no choice. A company installer came over the next morning and checked out my furnace (in the attic) and my AC (outside in the back yard), and he assured me that the work could be done and the equipment was available. Since I signed the documents, it has been four weeks of delays and excuses. Three times installations were scheduled and then canceled. The first excuse was having to get the equipment directly from the manufacturer. The second excuse was that the manufacturer sent the wrong equipment. The third excuse was no excuse at all. They just kept telling me they'd call when the equipment came in. That went on for nearly two weeks, and now I can't even get a return phone call. In the meantime, I've been using two space heaters, and occasionally my oven, which has resulted in a higher electric bill. I have also contacted several other companies and found a local one whose rep told me he doesn't think the whole system needs to be replaced - only the outside unit. So I believe I was lied to from the start, and that the company either can't, or does not want to, do the job. Whatever the case, there is simply no excuse for stringing a customer along like this and for not bothering to return calls. While I can accept some blame for not doing enough research (i.e., getting second and third opinions), I can't accept this kind of treatment. It is completely unprofessional and inexcusable. If you do choose to use this company, be forewarned that they overcharge and may not be straight with you about what you need. Get a second opinion. read more

We are thankful for Sharon's help, and I want to emphasize that she was understanding and helpful, but honestly it was overall a pretty miserable experience... I'm glad that I advocated for my parents, and I understand they must have a crazy high load during this heat wave, but again I feel like they weren't transparent and we're ultimately dishonest and misleading (whether or not they intended to be) and made things very difficult--much more than necessary. I still can't recommend. The most I can do is bump it up 1-2 stars for Sharon's incredible efforts ORIGINAL: I DONT RECOMMEND. We had an appointment for Saturday that was pushed to the next day on Sunday. Then on Sunday (08/17) I called almost every 30 minutes to many many different representatives until 9:30PM and was told every time by every person that a technician was definitely coming and would come latest at midnight and to keep my phone on for a call. The 2nd to last call I was told that I was in the top 5 (at 9PM) of the list. And then I never got a call and called back first thing next day on Monday and they said we didn't have an appointment and they could come earliest a week out. It's 100+° heat with no AC, I have a screaming toddler and an in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Not to mention our kids grandparents are older and when they call each time they seem to get taken advantage of since their native language isn't English. They pulled me in to help and I'm shocked at how horrible the treatment has been. ONCE AGAIN I do not recommend and I really hope they fail to be replaced by someone better. Unfortunately, even though I researched this company and chose them over my home warranty company for an AC replacement, I didn't have an overall positive experience. A lot of the issues were about communication. If a tech is coming, I should be called or texted before their arrival. If I can't pick up the phone, leave a voicemail and way of recontacting the person calling. This is a given! It's better to schedule a visit during a certain time window, rather than simply dropping by my residence when their schedule happens to permit it. This company seems to have gotten too large in too short of an amount of time, because they are far too disorganized. There wasn't any follow up, telling me what was going to happen after there was a problem. I had to try and hunt down the information myself, and ultimately, my realtor had to go to their office location to get information at one point. If this company would refocus their efforts on making the customer a priority, I think they would be a much, much healthier business. I can say that the call center customer service was always pleasant and tried to get me an appointment with someone, whenever I had an issue. I had a better, overall experience when Daniel Wainscott was in the "Project Manager" role. I believe he moved up in the organization a few months back. My parents, ages 81 and 88, were left without any heat after their 1985 furnace started vibrating and making a terrible racket. "The Other Guys": I left messages at several places, only one returned my call. Of the companies I did make contact with, they were booking several days out, one scheduled me for a day-1/2 later. When their technician did come out, he was in and out in 10 minutes. Diagnosis: "you need a new system." Service call was $99. Freschi Service Experts: also told me they were booking a few days out, but would try to find a solution and get back to me. Within 15 minutes they called back to tell me they were pulling a technician from their commercial service department and he would be arriving that same afternoon. Patrick arrived early and stayed for almost an hour. He did a very thorough inspection of the entire unit, and took the time to show me the actual part that had died and explain the situation in a way I could understand. He did tell me we should consider a new system before putting money into repairing a 35 year old furnace, but he would still get information and the cost and availability of the part so we could make an informed decision. He put everything back the way he found it. Service call was $99. Within an hour after Patrick left, I got a call from Ace in sales, although by then it was after business hours. Ace came out the following day (on his day off) and instead of just doing an estimate based on the old system, he asked questions about my parents' needs, usage, energy costs and preferences, after which he gave us several options. He explained the different advantages of each, patiently answering all of our questions, and going over in detail exactly what was included in the price. NO pressure, NO obvious upselling. I texted him later that night and told him what we'd decided on, and he took care of everything from there on out. I know I wasn't the easiest customer Ace had ever had, but he was unflappable and took care of everything. He remembered all the little details and preferences I'd mentioned, rolled with it when I rescheduled not once but twice for getting the contract signed, and personally saw to it that the system was installed exactly when promised. He even stopped by during the install to make sure everything was going smoothly, and followed up again by text that night. Mike, Oliver and Fernando installed the new system, and they did a great job. There was attention paid to detail, they were conscientious about not tracking dirt into the house, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves - seriously, they didn't leave a trace of the old system they'd torn out, or so much as a scrap of packaging from the new one. They also took care of registering the warranty. I was expecting a pitch to sell me an overpriced extended service contract, but it never came. Ace and Mike both volunteered how to save a lot of money on the annual filter changes by NOT buying the filters from them. Really. I did not choose Freschi Service Experts because they were the least expensive (they were not). I chose them because they cared about my elderly parents' situation and found a way to accommodate me. I chose them because of Patrick and Ace inspired confidence and I was not disappointed. Freschi has been around for a long time, and now I know why. I will be needing a new furnace in my home soon, and these are the guys I will call first. read more

We have been with Freschi for over 20 years. The first time we called, we needed to install central air/heating as it was an old house and it only had an old furnace in the floor. We got an air con/heating combo unit that lasted about 18 years which is much more than normal wear and tear. We decided to replace the unit 2 years ago and contacted Freschi and got in touch with the same person, Dennis, that sold us the original unit (that doesn't happen often). We now have a yearly maintenance contract with them and have our system checked twice a year. Very happy with the service. Each time a technician comes out they are very friendly and answer all of our questions as well as make sure that the system is running as it should. I hope to have this system for the next 18 years and keep being a part of the Freschi family. Ps. This was a solidly good experience all the way around. From the system design and scheduling by Art to the installation by Alan and Brent and the whole team, I felt like my needs and opinions were considered at every step. The system is top of the line Lennox equipment that takes into account the odd design of my west facing hillside house with three zones to heat and cool each level appropriately. The planning and installation went very smoothly and I was kept apprised of progress all along the way. The team showed up as expected, worked quietly and tidily, and got the job done efficiently. Charged $400 to come out and replace a capacitor that retails for about $20. Then said it would be another $229 to replace a switch that was available at the local hardware store for $23. As I did not agree to pay for the additional part, they left my system inoperable after the $400 bill. The technicians were polite and the sales guy was also helpful, but they didn't seem to care that they were trying to charge $600 for $50 worth of parts and 10 minutes of labor. I ended up going and getting the switch from Ace Hardware for the $23 and installed it in about 2 minutes, finally restoring our AC that has been out all week. I would not use this service again unless price was no concern and no one else was available. read more

Worst service ever. No show! Scheduled an appointment this morning (7/8/21) to service my A/C via their answering service (obviously from a foreign country). Appointment was set for between 12 & 2 pm; I was informed I would receive an email immediately to confirm the appointment. No confirmation ever arrived. I called back and this time spoke to a woman who confirmed the time of my appointment. The hours of 12 to 2 pm, came and went without so much as a courtesy call. I called back at 12:30 and spoke yet again with another woman. She initially told me my appointment was for the following day, but later admitted the appointment was scheduled for today. She said she would straighten out the mess and a technician would be giving me a call shortly to confirm when they would arrive. When I got no response by 4:15 pm, I called back. This time I spoke with a woman named Myra who informed me of a notation that someone had called my house but no one answered and my answering machine was not working. That was a blatant lie! I've been home all day waiting for the Freschi technician and no one from Freschi ever called. What's more, there is nothing wrong with my answering machine or my cell phone which also was not called. Myra informed me that my appointment was rescheduled for tomorrow between 12 & 2 pm and Colby Gosvener would be my service technician. When asked to speak with her supervisor, Myra claimed she was unable to do so. Apparently customer service is not high on Freschi's list of priorities despite the fact that I purchased 2 new heater & A/C units for my home 3 years ago. I suspect tomorrow will be a repeat of today, we'll see. Well the saga continues. On 7/9/2021, the service technician Colby arrived between the scheduled hours and determined a faulty part was the culprit. He said the part is covered under warranty. He called into their service center to order the part. He said I'd hear back with information on when the part would be available for install. After a couple of hours without hearing anything, I called Freschi back to get an idea when they'd get my A/C working (we're in the middle of a heat wave). I initially spoke to Cindy who passed me on to a woman named TC. TC told me she would determine when the part would be available and call me back; said she'd call me back no later than 6 pm. Well, it's the following day (7/10/2021), Freschi dropped the ball once again, TC never called. read more
