Service is always excellent and prompt. I've been many times for breakfast (delicious!) but today was my first time for lunch. I had the prawn melt on sourdough and it was delicious! It came with fries, salad, or soup. I went with the chowder, which wasn't quite my taste, but I'm sure many would enjoy. Get this sandwich though, so good! read more

I visited Fresh Harvest Tuesday afternoon because they serve a tasty late breakfast. We were escorted to a patio table and left with menus and a promise to inform wait staff assigned to our table that we were there. While waiting an unusually long period for service, I noticed a senior couple seated next to us. The woman kept opening her sandwich as if looking for something. Staff came over to her and there was an exchange. Next, a man came out, pulled up a chair next to her, and she told him there was only one prawn on the sandwich. He leaned in, claimed he made the sandwich himself and he put 4 on it. She asked him if he was calling her a liar and he retorted with, "Are you calling me a liar?" It reminded me of a prior experience last year there when my husband ordered an item, but was brought the wrong item. The wait staff argued with him and said there would be an extra charge since he was wrong. However, there were three other people present who heard my husband's order, including myself, and the wait staff was wrong. It was the same arrogant attitude with this man, but we chalked it up to inexperienced staff. However, this second one was enough for me. I grabbed my belongings and as I exited the restaurant I let the man know that he had lost a customer over a couple prawns. His answer to me was, "That's OK". I found out later that he is the owner. I now understand the prior confrontation: the staff is only as good as the owner wants them to be! Like owner, like staff!! read more

This place offers a unique menu for breakfast, and more traditional fare for lunch. The restaurant opens early and closes at two in the afternoon. Again, focusing on breakfast as a mainstay offering a wide variety of egg and pancake dishes. We live about five minutes from Fresh Harvest, and have visited many times over the past few years. Sadly, we have experienced a decline in customer service post-Covid. We actually had a server deny what was ordered instead of owning a mistake in recording the order. We gave the place another try today (Tuesday) about 1 in the afternoon. Asking for outdoor seating sent a server to the patio to "check" for a table - she never returned to seat us. Once it was discovered we were still waiting for a table, we were hustled to a spot in the corner of the glassed-in patio. So far, so good. After about ten minutes, it became clear that no server had been alerted that we were seated, and were waiting to place our order. I observed several servers clearing tables around us, but none seemed interested in interacting with us. For the price point they demand, I felt the level of service fell short, I asked my wife to find an alternative place to eat. As we were leaving, we observed a staff member locked in conversation with a diner regarding the number of prawns placed on her sandwich. Again, instead of graciously accepting (what may -or may not) have been a mistake, there was a tone of arrogance and confrontation. That was enough for us. No matter how wonderful the menu, or how comfortable the atmosphere - customer service is paramount. This place seems to have forgotten this. Give it a pass, at least until the staff can understand what impressions they are leaving on the people who support them. Incidentally, we mentioned to the staff member who was arguing about prawns, that we would not be returning. His comment to us was "that's okay- we don't need you". Dismal. Update: The owner of the restaurant reached out to me personally. Evidently it was the owner who was arguing with the diner about the sandwich. He defended his position about how he prepared the sandwich - apparently he believed the diner was attempting to get more prawns. I doubt this to be the case from two well dressed senior citizens. In his response to me, he complained about diners attempting to get free food. He claimed that he did not say "we don't need you" to us on our way out - perhaps. Since he has not offered any apology for us being ignored by his staff, or the other various issues that send the clear message that customers don't matter, he really didn't have to say it. Instead, he defended how his staff treated us, and felt that our wait time was reasonable. I agree, although I draw issue with being totally ignored. No excuse for that. At any time, a server could have at least acknowledged us. He shared a story of waiting in line for an hour at a drive through restaurant only to be told they had sold out of the food item he was trying to buy. He did not share if he ever returned to that restaurant after that experience. I would not go back to that place either. I am sympathetic to the challenges of operating a restaurant, particularly in these times. Part of that responsibility includes setting a tone that encourages business by providing guidelines that demonstrate a true concern for customer satisfaction. After reading his response, it is no wonder why I felt patronized and eventually dismissed when I visited his restaurant. To be clear, I (we) have enjoyed eating at this venue many times. My most recent visit was less than I had hoped for- so poor that we left before ordering. Evidently my patronage is not appreciated - I believe I understood him to say that we were not needed - however, I retract that statement. He really didn't have to say it. An understanding of how to treat customers, and how to accommodate those who feel slighted with courtesy seems to be missing from this owners management style (indeed, adding a percentage to the menu goes a long way to offset the couple of prawns that may need to be given away from time to time. No one would be the wiser). I will not return, there are other options that care about my experience. Makes both of us happy. Take your chances, expect pedestrian service, a tone of indifference and a generally broad breakfast menu. read more

Greeted AT the door by courteous young man, Brian, and it just got better from there. Kayla was our server she was prompt attentive polite friendly...just amazing. Came in right before 11 which is when they stop making pancakes and French toast. She immediately told us incase that's what we wanted! Have been here 2 different years apart and I have to tell you I love this place. All the staff are so friendly they acknowledge you the second you walk in and when you leave everyone will bid goodbye and thank you for choosing to dine with them. The food here is oh so good. My hubby had the chicken fried steak it was real round steak pounded and breaded and fried delish gravy on top perfect. I had the Marion Berry crepes OMG! I'm gonna start singing about these crepes Food is comparable to well what's the most delightful experiences you shall have. The weird coffee which is called an Oregon Harvest contains Marion berry, hazelnut, simple syrup, chocolate, espresso, steamed milk. their signature drink! This coffee is so good that when I got home I bought all the ingredients to try and replicate at home. People need to try here, It is not often that I give a restaurant 5 stars but this restaurant hits all the marks. I live in Eugene and I love it in Florence. Decided to spend the day kayaking in the Florence area, which usually means I'm going to eat at the brown hen. But this particular day it seems everyone else had the same breakfast plans. Soooo I asked a local where he recommended--fresh harvest was his first response. This place was very busy, but has considerably more seating than the hen. I was hesitant to wait in line, but after seeing the plates of food pass by me, I felt it was going to be worth the way... and they didn't disappoint. The entire experience was a good one. A bittersweet experience. I recently moved to Florence and today ate at the Fresh Harvest Cafe for the first time. The restaurant is nice, casual and inviting. The service was prompt and pleasant. The menu prices are a bit spendy, but so are most prices these days (greed-flation is everywhere). I enjoyed a lovely Harvester breakfast crepe with an excellent Sherry cream sauce. The food was fresh, well prepared, and quite tasty. When ordering, I had requested they be generous with the cream sauce. The waitress nodded her head and soon came with my breakfast, which included a side 2-ounce cup of extra sauce. I thought how nice... until the bill came. My $13 crepe turned out to be a $17 breakfast after the $4 upcharge for the extra sauce. Excuse me? Okay, adding a dollar to the tab might be understandable to a few customers, but $4 for a tiny scoop of sauce is way over the line in my book! I had held on to the menu to familiarize myself with the restaurant offerings. I noticed that it was filled with several upcharges. Fresh Harvest Cafe not only charges for extra sauce, they also charge $1 PER DISH for take-out orders. Additionally, they are charging extra for credit card payments. I didn't see it noted on the menu, but I would bet there is also an added charge for sharing a plate. Obviously, restaurateurs are free to charge whatever they wish. Likewise, customers are able to dine (or not dine) wherever they wish. When an establishment's pricing policies become excessive and unreasonable, and when our dining experience is filled with opportunity charges and gotcha fees, most folks look elsewhere for a more welcoming dining experience. Even Disneyland had to learn this lesson the hard way. Tickets increased from $43 in 2000 to $194 in 2023 (a 451% increase). After suffering declining attendance and with a much-needed change in park management, 2024 tickets are now $96 ($75 for SoCal residents). I can only hope this message gets communicated to the owners of Fresh Harvest Cafe. We are not walking wallets, but customers with a desire to have a pleasant and uneventful dining experience. Perhaps if the management focus were to move beyond mere dollars and cents and more toward genuinely understanding and appreciating the customer's perspective, this could offer real benefits for the ownership -- and their customers. read more

The restaurant was very busy on a Monday morning, which is a good a sign. Unfortunately, they were understaffed, but the people working were doing a great job keeping up. They were working fast and cheerfully. We were a table of four and waited a few minutes.. but we could see how quickly everyone was working to get a table ready for us. Our server was Eryn. Despite how busy she was, she was super friendly and provided great service. Our breakfast was really delicious! All four of us were very happy with our meals and extremely impressed with Eryn. When asked again, she said she'd check...which she never did. This request ended her ability to be professional. She never visited our table after we were served to see how we were doing. The food was absolute slop. Caesar salad with salmon was so salty it was inedible. Prawn melt that was supposed to be on sour dough bread was served on toasted, greasy white bread. It looked like glue and tasted as bland. When we sent the salad back, the server only removed half the price even though nothing more than a bite or two was eaten. I had the florentine crepe, best seasoned crepe I've ever had!! Highly recommended. My husband had the crab crepe and he commented that it was hot. We have crepes back home but the savory ones always seem to be on the cold side. Having never been here before, you've got to try this cafe. My partner had chicken fried steak which was really good and even though the country gravy looked thin it was fucking delicious! I had the crab crepe with sherry cream sauce- yum. My only criticism was the crepe had was to many green onions and they overpowered the sweet crab. We also tried the clam chowder, more like cream of celery than chowder. And no I don't like the super heavy cream forward version of clam chowder this was not that but still way to much celery. We will be back this weekend for hollandaise though! read more

Bountiful servings and delectable foods. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We had a party of 8 and we called in to see if they had the ability to accommodate us for breakfast. They said yes. Got there with no issues on being seated fairly quickly. We had a prawn omelette, oatmeal, fajitas, corned beef hash, blueberry pancakes, fresh harvest breakfast and the seafood crepe. Everything was phenomenally delicious. Everyone was very happy with both food quality and quantity. Overall experience was great. Our server was awesome too. I again didn't foot the bill so I don't have the out the door bill amount. All the plate prices looked average for the area. read more
