I came here to check into FK about their food and for catering. I have seen plenty of my fellow yelpers check in, post pictures, and reviews about this place so I had to check it out. Due to stalking pictures of my fellow yelpers, I had an idea of what I wanted to try first. I first tried the sweet potato noodles, Parmesan broccoli, quinoa, and almond baked chicken with cucumber jalapeño sauce. Sooo good! I also tried the green beans, bbq chicken, grilled citrus chicken, Thai chicken, and herb vinegarette. Everything was delicious! I ordered the pesto tomatoes as well and they were amazing but they are considered an add on. They also have several frescas and tea options. I am very happy about those because they either have no sugar or are lightly sweetened. They are so tasty! I think my favorites are the dragonfruit Fresca and strawberry kiwi tea. There are all soda options,as well as Waterloo, bottled water, and cold pressed drinks. I have never seen this place not busy so give yourself some extra time if you have limited time. This is the best clean eating bowl restaurant around. Definitely has everyone else beat by a mile. I cherish the day they bring a Fresh Kitchen to my area in Coral Springs/Coconut Creek. This is on the way to work so it works almost just as good though. What's good? Everything. That's the short answer. The spicy rice here is pretty addicting, mushrooms are literally made to perfection. There are so many options for chicken along with robust and tender steak. I also recommend the Moo Free drink. I like this place; I really do. It's a great concept and executed better (food and service) than a competitor I'm familiar with. The music, however, is so loud that I had to ask thr employees several times to repeat themselves until I could make out (or guess) what they were saying. They were all cheerful and polite and accommodating, but noise was unnecessary and annoying. I wish they had washable plates and cutlery for those staying to eat. The place creates a lot of waste. PS to mangement: people come here to eat healthy - for goodness' sake, take the skin off of the chicken before serving! The protein portions are small and get even smaller once you take a bite and discover a bunch of flabby skin that you have to spit out. read more

When you've seen one bowl place you've seen them all? Not necessarily! I was so excited to FK building their store and waited patiently for them to open. FK did a fantastic job renovating the physical space. The place, decorated in pink is warm and inviting. As with other bowl places there are two sizes of bowls. You pick you base, veggies, and proteins. The small bowl consists of 2 bases, a veggie, a proteins. All add ins are extra. This differs from a small bowl at Bolay which consists of one base. two veggies, a protein, and an add on. One of my problems with Fresh Kitchen is that they do not let you substitute a vegetable for a base. So far all of FK's competitors do this. I had to buy a large bowl, eliminathe bases, downgrade a protein to a vegetable, just to get the bowl I wanted which was 1 protein and three veggies! A lot more expensive and a lot more work! I actually brought this up to Steven, one of the owners, who said it was because FK's ingredients were "of a higher quality'. Well, the ingredients I have had at FK were okay but did not knock my socks off. The broccoli was very salty (almost inedible). The mushrooms were satisfactory but a little over cooked. I did like the sweet potatoes. For my protein I usually order the baked almond chicken. I tried the barbecue chicken but it was very salty. I have been fine with the portion sizes of the chicken, but some friends have griped about the portion sizes of the proteins, particularly the steak (for which there is an up-charge). Overall, I am glad we have a "bowl place" in the neighborhood. It's a welcome addition to the town full of sports bars. I am sure I will go back and pay more for my three veggie bowl. I just would enjoy FK a lot more if they would change their substitution policy. read more

I have been meaning to try this place since they opened and have heard mixed reviews, but after my own experience I can definitely say I am a fan and will definitely be back! This place is definitely a facelife to the strip mall. It is very bright inside and there is plenty of space to grab lunch with coworkers or take a seat outside on a nice day. The food has a healthy theme going. I got the Four Bowl, which comes with 2 bases, 1 proteins, 1 veggies, and 1 sauce. I got the handheld menu when I walked, but it honestly wasn't too much of a help since many of their items are seasonal, so you have to ask what each one of the items are if you can't tell just by looking. I would recommend little markers in front of each of plates to make it easier to identify and the workers won't have to repeat themselves with every customer. I got the following: Brown rice and spinach salad, parmesan broccoli, almond crusted chicken and holy kale sauce. I was really impressed! Everything was very well seasoned and all went together really well. The spinach salad had just enough dressing, the broccoli was super flavorful and cooked well. The almond chicken came highly recommended and was very flavorful and not dry at all. All went really nicely with the holy kale sauce. If you are hesitant about any of the causes before committing, you can ask for a little sample or get it on the side. I got it go and the box was pretty filled and very satisfying. I was full by the end of the meal, but not overly stuffed. Always appreciate a nice healthy meal! Sigh. Ok, let me be nice and start with the positive. Awesome staff! I told them it was my first time and I had a lot of questions and I sampled a lot, yet all the staff were very patient and detailed when explaining the food to me. The restaurant is also very clean. Now on to the not so positive...if you happen to be on any kind of low carb diet, this is not the place for you. I ordered a 4 Bowl which comes with 2 bases, 1 veggie, 1 protein, & 1 sauce. I'm currently on keto so I can't have any rice, potatoes, bread, etc but almost all of their base options were either rice (they had like 4 different kinds of rice) or potatoes. Even their cauliflower mash is mixed with potato! The server told me since I had already told him I can't have rice or potatoes. Why mix cauliflower mash with potatoes? It would've been a great option for me if not for the potatoes in it. So that left me with only 2 base options, the kale slaw (which I sampled & felt it was bitter) and the raw spinach. Now...that leads me to the 2nd not so good thing about this place...Fresh Kitchen has some really weird rules when it comes to substitutions. Since I couldn't eat 98% of the bases, I asked the server if I could just get 1 extra veggie instead of two bases. Seems fair right? Nope, not allowed. I was told you can substitute a protein for a veggie but u can't sub a base for a veggie. So I ended up just getting 1 base (the spinach) & the Parmesan broccoli as my 1 veggie. I sampled the mushrooms & really liked them so it would've been great if I could've gotten both the mushrooms & broccoli as my "bases" instead of having to settle for spinach I didn't want. 3rd not so good thing about Fresh Kitchen is all of their toppings (they call add ons) are an extra charge, even cheese! I'm not talking about some fancy goat cheese or Gouda or something, just regular shredded (parmesan? mozzarella?) cheese. I understand charging for premium toppings like avocado & the corn bean salsa, but charging for cheese & tomatoes? Yes, even the tomatoes were an extra charge too. Could u imagine ordering a bowl from Chipotle and them telling you cheese, tomatoes, salsa and onions were all extra charges lol. Weird rules aside, the food itself was ok. I felt the proteins were a bit too salty, but everything was edible. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like it here, I wouldn't return unless maybe some changes were made. They have a really cute outdoor seating area on green turf and umbrellas covering you from that hot Florida sun. The colors are very Florida, teal and pink, think Miami Vice. There is a pink wall of cactus and succulents to greet you and keep you company while you wait in line by plant designer @cactusranchshop It is photo worthy! Their seats are comfortable and the tables lend for that perfect picture backdrop with roses. There are two bowl options, Four (2 bases, 1 protein, 1 veggie, 1 sauce)and Six (2 bases, 2 protein, 2 veggie, 1 sauce). There is also a Kid's option with 1 base, 1 protein, 1 veggie, 1 sauce ($6). I ordered the Six Bowl. My bowl consisted of (BASE) sweet potato noodles, spinach salad, (PROTEIN) baked almond chicken, sautéed thai chicken (VEGGIES) sesame green beans, parmesan broccoli, (SAUCE) no sauce, (EXTRA) Citrus Avocado. I ordered a drink as well. I tried their Sweetened Strawberry Lemon Fresca. It is a refillable cup so I got the Organic and Unsweetened Decaf Strawberry Kiwi Tea to go. There are no straws, the lid has a mouth opening. This is their first week opening so they were giving away hats and scratch off to their first 50 customers. I was one of those lucky customers and ended up winning $5 coupon on my scratch off. The guy next to me won $100!!!! The manager was also giving samples of their vegan chocolate chip cookies. They were soft and delicious. He walked around talking to everyone to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal and first time at this location. The staff was very welcoming and friendly as well. Very similar concept to Bolay, but you can see this place the food tastes fresher. The vegetables were excellent I was surprised the brussel sprouts are only seasonal. I did 6 side bowl for $10.49 the size was big. The only downfall I have was the tofu caperese. I don't eat meat. I wish it was hot and had more of a crispy texture. I wasn't to into a hot bowl with cold tofu. Overall, the place is good. They could definitely clean down the tables though. We literally went to 6 dirty tables before we could sit. read more

Definitely not my favorite place. Although there were plenty of options, I've had better. My biggest problem was how long it took us in line. By the time we got through the line and to a table our food was cold. Some of the problem was the people in front of us could not figure who was paying, but most of the problem was non of the hot food was maintained at a hot enough temperature. It was served like warm. I had a six bowl, it was two bases, two vegetables, two proteins and a sauce. I got it with spicy rice and green rice as my base. Both were actually good. I got broccoli and mushrooms as my vegetables it they would have been hot they would have been good. My proteins were two kinds of chicken, grilled and some kind of spicy Asian style. They bother had good flavor and were very tender, but would have better if they were hot. The sauce was a bit different, jalepeno and cucumber, but not bad. My wife got a a vegan kind of bowl, other then she hated the sauce she got, ( on the side) the vinaigrette, she also said it would have been better if it was hot. The avacado was awesome! This entire place is aesthetically pleasing for the Gram. I like BYOB (build-your-own-bowl, in this reference hehe) spots and this is kind of like a healthier version of Chipotle. I got the Six Bowl, which comes with 2 bases, 2 proteins, 2 veggies, and 1 sauce. So here's a breakdown of my bowl: -- BASES + cauli potato mash (must-have! so creamy) + clean green rice -- ROASTED VEGGIES + parmesan broccoli (very flavorful!) + basil mushrooms -- PROTEINS + sautéed thai chicken (love the kick!) + chia seed teriyaki tofu (cold but love the flavor) -- SAUCE + creamy white ginger (opted to put on side) -- ADD IT ON + kale pesto tomatoes ($1.50 add on and it's ok) My to-go box seemed pretty filled, and everything I chose went well with each other. Very tasty! Barely used my sauce hehe. However, in comparison to other BYOB places like Bolay, protein serving is slightly smaller. I had to eat much slower just to get full quicker to make up for it, LOL. Also, I don't like having to charge for simple add-ons. Bolay allows one topping or sauce and I rather choose that because everything else has their own saucy flavor, I barely use sauce, so I'd opt for a topping. So next time I come, I won't get an add-on. I do like how I was able to sample everything before committing to my choices. And everything is gluten free! I don't have gluten issues but it's still good to know. Also, a side note, they do have college discounts with a valid college ID. The chicken, grilled and bbq both could have been cooked a little bit longer as they felt tad bit under cooked! Other than that, yes, the food is a bit pricey but healthy food ain't cheap! No where was there a sign that says "here for online orders" so that leaves one to assume you have to wait in the same line with others who are ordering their meals. Recommendation: to improve the process I asked the management make a sign or create another line for pickups/ online orders. When I received my meal, it was just in the bowl with the lid covering it. They didn't even place it in a to go bag nor provide eating utensils and napkins like they did for the Uber eats orders. Like who thought this was ok?!? I absolutely love Fresh Kitchen. Their food is true to their name and is very obviously fresh. They have so many options that are all clearly displayed on the menu board up top. I always get the 6 bowl, and there's always enough left over for lunch the next day. You get a good amount of food. My favorite go to is the coconut rice (you HAVE to try this one, so good), Parmesan broccoli (which is always nice and crunchy, never mushy and really nicely seasoned), maple sweet potatoes, and citrus chicken (so fresh and not overpoweringly citrusy). They offer all kinds of toppings, like different cheeses, guac and salsa. They also have a good amount of different sauces to top everything off. I love the creamy white ginger. It adds an amazing, subtle finish. This is my favorite order but the options are endless. Also, you have to try their strawberry Fresca! Every time I go, the staff is always so friendly. The premises are always clean and there's a lot of available seating. Their outside seating area is great: it has astroturf and string lights, it's very welcoming. The only complaint I have is the price. For 2 people with drinks it can easily be above $30 with just a couple add ons. It seems a bit steep to me. This is a go-to spot for me! I have limited food options with the diet that I'm on for health reasons, and my boyfriend loves anything unhealthy (basically everything I wish I could eat). We are both able to make Fresh Kitchen work for us, and we love it! I typically get a kid's size. My order is usually the sweet potato noodles or citrus rice, Green beans or mushrooms, tofu, tomatoes, guacamole, and balsamic dressing. The kids size is only filling enough if I get the rice instead of the noodles. (Please keep in mind that I'm only 5 ft & 114 lbs, so something that's filling for me might not be enough for others.) Sometimes I substitute the protein option for an extra vegetable. The green beans are quite possibly the best green beans that I've ever tasted. My boyfriend agrees. If I'm remembering correctly, my boyfriend usually gets the 4. He regularly orders brown rice, mushrooms, barbecue chicken and some other things that I can't remember. Since he gets meat, his bowl is probably more filling than mine. Anyway, yes, this place is a little pricey, but that's just what it takes to eat clean, reliable food! Very Very Cool Spot. They offer a couple different sizes depending on your appetite. You start by going around the left side of the restaurant and they will build your bowl right in front of you. The difference in the bowl size is significant enough to warrant the price increase, but pay attention to the subtle differences in each size. A 6 bowl and 8 bowl aren't just smaller or larger, they also dictate the number of bases and proteins that you'll get. The ingredients are all labeled on the board behind the counter and you can clearly see them before you. You start by picking your bases and then your veggies and move on to your proteins. To finish off the bowls you choose any toppings (most of which cost extra) and the sauce that you'd like, if any. They have fountain drinks that are healthy but they also make their own tea blends and sometimes they'll have something like a healthy fruit punch. I definitely recommend trying one of their blends. Overall, it's a great place for lunch or dinner. They are very health conscious and clearly label what ingredients are gluten free, vegan or both (totally awesome!) My only complaint is that if you get dinner for you and your spouse it can easily be $35 depending on the add-ons that you get. I wish that it was a little cheaper but the food quality does not disappoint. It's a great spot for sure! read more

Since there's no Cava in FTL, this can suffice to fill the void. A basic healthy bowl style place- ingredients are super fresh and unique and the portions are sizable. Can run a high check here pretty fast, but I think it's justifiable based on the quality of the ingredients. Service is super friendly and energetic. Great at getting a big line through in a timely manner without making the customer feel rushed or like they are a burden (cough cough chipotle). Also (I'm pretty sure) it's a 100% gluten free establishment which makes it great (for me personally). The gluten free cookies in the cooler are pretty spectacular. Great spot for a lunch break or a quick pick up dinner. read more

Wow. The food here is AMAZING. I especially love coming here after a good workout and I am too lazy to cook. This is a great spot if you want food that's on the healthier side but is still tasty. I usually get the four bowl of double chickpeas and broccoli and sometimes cheese sprinkled on top. That's definitely not what someone would typically order but it's great for me! I've been to Fresh Kitchen a few times and have never been disappointed. First off, the restaurant is very clean and well organized. You walk up to the counter and can choose from a variety of bases, proteins, veg, sauces and toppings. Staff is always friendly and helpful. My fav is the brown rice base, almond breaded chicken, spinach, chickpea, and pico. Yuuuuum! And the portion is plenty. The food is organic, gf, and they have vegan options. I even got my meat and potatoes only eating hubby to go and he loves it too. Today is week 5 of covid19, I didn't want to cook again so FK was my choice for delicious food. After making all my choices online, the system pooped out on me and I couldn't complete my order. I called the location and they took my order on line and the gal apologized for the tech issue. Said order would be ready in 5 mins, I live 20 mins west but I'm willing to make the drive. Drove up picked up my order and drove home. My wish for them is to get rid of plastic straws, plastic containers and plastic utensils. I don't know if it's the most nutritious food out there, but it's good and I'm willing to drive for my bowl!
