I am giving this place 5 starts for two reasons. One: we showed up for lunch and it was closed due to an electrical problem. This was a big disappointment for our daughter. A negative became a positive when the woman who answered the door gave my daughter and husband 2 free bowl coupons for the inconvenience. Two: with a disappointed daughter in tow, I called the one in Boca Raton and they were open. We drove the distance and at first our daughter was not happy with the way the food looked. She said it did not resemble what their website shows. Well, looks can be deceiving and our "frown on her face" daughter happily reported that she was mistaken...the food was so good that she ate the entire bowl. read more

Fresh Kitchen was a bit disappointing. Overall, it's just "OKAY" but Bolay (it's competitor) is way better in my opinion. The food at Fresh Kitchen is just okay, not great, it lacks flavor. As for the prices and the portions at Fresh Kitchen, it's outrageous. You get so much more portion-wise for a cheaper price and with loads more flavor at Bolay. I guess people go crazy over Fresh Kitchen because there aren't many restaurants like it in the area. I am obsessed with Fresh Kitchen! I ordered the 'Four' which consists of two bases, one protein, one veggie, and one sauce. I ordered the spinach salad and sweet potatoes as my bases. This is what I normally order because it is so delicious & nutritious. For my roasted veggie I ordered the golden spice chickpeas. This veggie adds a little spice to the dish which made it even more amazing. My protein order was the buffalo chicken. It wasn't too spicy but just enough coating of the buffalo sauce to satisfy my taste buds. You can't go wrong with the creamy white ginger sauce to top it off. One word: YUM! After searching google maps for about half an hour, I chose this place due to the high reviews- I was not disappointed. From the moment you walk in the place looks lively and fun. i love the blue and pink colors with green accents. The "good vibes" atmosphere was definitely given a lot of thought. I brought my dog along with me (hoping i wouldnt get kicked out since it is a restaurant) - instead the staff were happy to see her :). (she is a service dog but i don't feel comfortable displaying her badge or explaining to people my situation) so i was so so happy to be welcomed. Since it was my first time, i decided to go with the kid sized bowl which was plentiful for a nice healthy meal. Ive attached a photo of it midway since i realized i was so happy i had to make a review. It's slightly spicy but not in an overwhelming way (for someone who's not a spicy food lover) which says a lot for me. For my vegetarians, pescatarians, vegans, vegan-ishs, and everything in between: the only non meat protein available is cubed tofu with seasoning and peppers. It's actually quite yummy but, chickpeas also pack a lot of protein and that was in the veggie category (so there is options :)) Oh AND the prices are amazing... I mean considering inflation and all... and how much fast food costs.... this is a much better option. I wish there was restaurant like this more frequently. I look forward to coming here again :) One very important thing: What REALLY led me to coming here was that i saw on the website they "cook food with 100% olive oil *unless otherwise indicated*" That speaks volumes to me. The line was long but it seemed to move very quickly. And they have online ordering to, which is good if you want to be in and out quickly. The inside had a very cute decor and nice ambience. My sister and I shared the 6 bowl which comes with 2 bases, 2 proteins, 2 veggies, and sauce. For sure to say that this was more than enough for the both of us. For the bases we got cauli mash potato & sweet potato noodles, which were both delicious, especially the cauli mash. For the proteins we got bbq chicken & herb steak. The chicken was very tender and not super dry, but the herb steak seemed to be a little dry and burned. As for the veggies, we got broccoli parmesan and mushroom. The broccoli was good but was very dry and hard to eat. for the sauce we got cucumber jalapeño, but needless to say, we didnt really need the sauce as there was so much good flavor from the veggies, bases, and proteins. Went here today to have lunch with my mom. It's located right across the street from Nova University, which means this place gets really busy between classes. FK reminds me of just about every other make your own bowl place that has sprouted up in South Florida in the last three years. It's just like Bolay and Beehive. Nothing separates the 3 chains, if you blindfolded me and had me taste their foods, I wouldn't know which is which because they're all so similar. We both decided to get the Six which is 2 bases 2 proteins and 2 veggies. They have a fairly decent options but none of them stand out as something I'd be dying to have again, except maybe the chickpeas. They have a nice selection of cold teas that I enjoyed. The total was about $30 for the bowls, 2 drinks and a tip. For that amount, I could've gotten a bigger and better meal else where. It is a similar concept quick service as chipotle, you pick your items and walk down the service line selecting until you have a full bowl. I usually get the kale and spinach for my base, which are lightly dressed in a citrus vinegarette. The roasted broccoli is also my go-to, it is so good, I could eat just a bowl of that. Grilled chicken and added pico de gallo with the herbed balsamic vinegarette and you have yourself a healthy party in your mouth! I love a good guilt free meal! read more

When you walk into this location the ambiance just takes over. The pink plant wall, flowers on the ceiling and yummy food smells are just too inviting. Their outdoor patio area is super cute too. Also, their staff is incredibly friendly. On my first visit for takeout I was sort of annoyed that they don't have little plaques detailing all of the food options but each staff member tells you what the options are in the most pleasant way. Bravo to the customer service there. On this particular occasion le boyfriend and I came to dine in for a late lunch. I got the 4 and he got the 6 bowl. Their sweet potato noods are fire and I love love love that kale slaw more than any other side veggie I've ever had anywhere. Their tuna is SUPER fresh and delish too. They offer you a chance to try some of the items as well which I thought was a very nice touch. I don't think I've ever been offered that at any of the other similar concepts I listed previously. They have a ton of sweet and non sweet tea options besides craft soda which I thought was nice. The bowls we had we're delicious and just the perfect amount of food to fee fill and not stuffed. They have tons of gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, etc. options for us health conscious foodies and folks watching what they eat. Fresh kitchen is basically a pink version of Bolay. They are jumping in on the bowl craze. It has potential, don't get me wrong, but it was just okay. You pick your size bowl...I opted for large because I wanted 2 bases. My bowl: 2.5 potato/cauliflower mash: cold by the time my bowl was finished, paid and I was at my table. Sesame green beans: I think it should have been hot, it was cold and too spicy. Nothing in the description warned me Kale salad: it looked like the kale wouldn't be tough, but it was that Bluchy kale texture of unmassaged kale. Basil mushrooms...this was my favorite. I think it was meant to be hot, but again cold. Maple sweet potato...yep cold and some pieces were undercooked. There is only one protein choice for vegans, a chia tofu teriyaki. It was served cold (not meant to be hot) but would have been better not. I am not a big tofu fan, but the flavor and texture was good. I added the "citrus" avocado for $2. I put citrus in quotes because seriously it was smashed avocado with lime..to keep it from browning. I will say it was perfectly ripe and added some flavor to my bowl. Last was the sauce. There was only one sauce that was vegan and I hated it. Pros: menu shows what is vegan, gluten free, has nuts..so it made it easy to order. Service was super friendly but the line moved slow. One person on the register and the customer in front of us who made it even slower made for cold food that should have been hot. They have inside and outside seating. Restaurant was super clean. Seems like there's a healthy bowl concept opening up on every corner. I would know... I've been to all the competitors in the area. They all offer a similar selection: roasted veggies, glazed chicken, seasoned rice, etc. But where I think FK really shines is in their ambience. The store is branded incredibly well. It's a millennials dream come true. From their signage to the decor, every detail has been thought through. These experiential elements truly make a difference. Especially in a saturated area where lunch options abound. The customer service was also wonderful. Lot of a smiling helpful faces who were patient through all my sample requests. I like that they use olive oil for their meats and veggies rather than industrialized oils like most others use. Highly recommend the toasted almonds! They're a up charge but give your bowl a really nice crunchy texture. Also a fan of their thai chicken and chia seed poke. I absolutely LOVE this place!! It's my new favorite restaurant. The food is delicious, the employees and costumer service are incredible, and the atmosphere is stunning. I have already gone back several times. The citrus chicken and green rice are my personal favorites. The parmesan broccoli is SO good. I have never had to wait that long, even when it was pretty busy! They do a fantastic job of getting people through the line quickly.
