This is a Chinese fast food place converted into a Mexican food joint. The guy who made my order did not know how to roll a burrito. The burrito had rice, chicken and beans inside and served with sour cream, guacamole and salad on the side. The worst part is they have the Yi pin sauce instead of salsa. This is the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. Let me type that again in case you weren't awake or can't read English, THIS IS THE WORST FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE. I once was felling trees in a remote forest, and unfortunately I am a worse lumberjack than the chef here is at his calling (how hard is it to deep fry prepackaged food?). This place is just as hard to figure out as some of the 'women' you'll meet down on Christopher St. At first glance it appears to be one thing, then on closer inspection it's something completely different. It's actually south-of-the-border food. I can only review the taco's as that's all I've eaten here. The .99 beef taco's to be exact. (Seriously, you can't buy the ingredients for that price, so that scares me a bit. But I like to live on the edge like that.) The taco's are delish! I can woof down several of them in one sitting. And a bottle of water for $1 - great cheap eats. I'm not sure what their hours are, but I'll be scouting these out at 2 or 3 am some nights. Service is very fast and friendly too. They might want to consider omitting the word "Fresh" from the name. I decided to go here after going to Chipotle and, seeing the line was about 40 people long, leaving 2 seconds later. It was a fairly large portion, seemed like a good deal... That is, until I ate it. The chicken wasn't at all fresh, like those already cooked pieces you buy in a box. It seemed kind of fatty, which is weird for chicken. Also the cheese was NOT jack cheese. I couldn't really tell what it was because it was so greasy, but there was no spice to it at all. This is my go to spot anytime I'm working in the area. Prices are fair and value is good. Things to look out for: The chorizo doesn't taste or look like chorizo; the chili has a canned taste as if it were from the chef boyardee factory; the enchiladas are just stuffed hardshell tacos. Otherwise it's a pretty decent place, not great but not bad either. Try the mexican pizza, it's like a chicken pot pie, except with a deep fried flour tortilla crust filled with chicken (or beef), beans, salsa and guacamole. They took up all the space in one of those rectangular aluminum take out trays with the clear plastic cover where you fold over the edge of the aluminum to hold the cover in place. Definitely a great fast food/delivery joint. It's a little disorienting since it's a tiny place set up and run like a Chinese takeout shop but has a full Tex-Mex menu, but the lady behind the counter is always nice and the food is cheap and always ready quickly. Obviously this isn't fine-dining cuisine, but for fast food Tex-Mex, the food is pretty great. My boyfriend loves their Mexican pizza and jalapeno poppers, and I always order their Mexican rice with grilled shrimp, which is overtly simple yet well seasoned and filling. I've also had their shrimp fajita which was awesome in its own right. If you're looking for higher-end Tex-Mex, obviously this won't be up your alley, but if you're craving Tex-Mex and are on the go in the West Village, this place is affordable and worth the stop. read more

I've gone here a few times a month over the past five or six years. I've never had any problems. Portions are big and prices are cheap for the area. Make sure you get extra sauce as their packets are small. I will also caution many things taste a little Chinese but I'm cool with it for the price and portions. Before trekking over to the location, I called to see how big the taco was due to the price being a bit over priced, especially for one taco. The woman I spoke with says that it's 8 inch, reason for the price. FINE WHATEVER! After trekking 15 mins (walking) to the place, in the heat, I order my Shrimp taco and charged 5 dollars for once taco, again WHATEVER.. only to look at my taco that she claims was 8 inch, to be under the size they claim it to be. After walking back to the office, yes, I pulled out a ruler and measured that damn thing.. only for it to measure up to a little over 5 inch... I could ask for little more from a Tex Mex joint. Although it should be more accurately called China Mex. It looks like a Chinese take out and there is little to write home about in regards to the interior, but with food as good as they serve, I could care less. I used to come here just about every day before or after work back when I worked on Bedford St. They serve one of the best burritos I've had in NYC so far for its price. Huge, filling, and full of flavour. On the side I sometimes get the soups available which are also very tasty. Fast-foody, a tad oily, but fantastic food altogether, and most importantly they are very consistent. I always recommend this place to friends, and it is one of my prized burrito spots. They make great fajitas too. I live in Brooklyn, but readily hop on a train to Manhattan to come and eat here on occasion. read more
