    Cool tables and decor
    Sarrah P.

Been over ten years so was hoping for as great of an experience as I remember it being then, sadly this was not the case. We were seated quickly, given chips and salsa that were not fresh. I remember there being more red and blue chips yet we only found one tiny speck of a red chip and had may be two blue chips in our basket.. The decor and tables are so cool, I love the Mexican blankets under plexi glass! When we ordered, I asked for a half and half wet burrito, a secret an old Latino buddy showed me back in the day. Like half pollo asado with green sauce and half carne asada with red. The guy said something I have NEVER HEARD before- he said they can't do that because they'd have to mix the meat... well, whatever I just got carne asada with half red and half green sauce-hold all guacamole because I'm ALLERGIC to avocado (I know, bummer). Plates came out very quickly and whaddyah know, big ole blop of guac. I reminded him I'm allergic and he seemed bothered, took my plate quickly away and returned less than two minutes later with what seemed to be the same plate with the guacamole scraped off. Staff came out from the back and were looking at me. It was no bueno. Anyhow, being that I hadn't eaten all day I just ate around that part, and it was just ok. The carne asada seemed boiled or something, I prefer a char on my carne asada so I don't recommend if you do as well. My partner had the cheese enchilada plate which was also meh and bland. With all the Mexican food choices in Napa, this place has fallen under the bar for me and I most likely will not return.

Sat in the bar area. Service was excellent and came during happy hour with $8 margaritas. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious. I ordered the two item combo with a mole enchilada and flauta. The mole sauce was authentic and delicious. I really loved what I ordered. Everything was excellent. The staff were attentive and were very nice. The patrons were also very friendly. I am looking forward to coming here again soon.

Love! Their happy hour is fabulous. 3-6pm on Sat - Thurs. I love their crispy tacos and the crunchy salad that comes with it!

Chilaquiles yummy ! A new discovery in Napa for Mexican breakfast cravings! Wonderful service and delicious food!

Great food and wonderful service! I love the decor, zarapes on the tables. Very colorful and cozy!

I went to Frida's for a lunch meeting. The ambiance is okay, the place is clean, and you can tell they serve local food. Most of the people at the restaurant seem like regulars, which supports that. The waitress who greeted me was friendly. I sat down and waited for others to arrive. When I sat down, the waitress brought me some chips and salsa. The chips were crunchy and tasted great with the salsa. After everyone arrived, she took our order and drinks. The food came out pretty quickly, and everything was delicious. I love local restaurants like this, where you can still get good food at a reasonable price.

We came in on a Saturday night with our family. There were 11 of us with no reservations. They were fast to set up a table to accommodate us. We sat down and realize that they did happy hour on Saturday. Majority of us ordered from the happy hour menu while some of our family members opted for Paella and the seafood platter. While I didn't like the paella since it didn't have the char on the rice that a traditional paella should have. I did enjoy the chicken tinga tostadas and ceviche tostadas. I was a little disappointed in their sopes, they didn't grill it enough to have some texture in it. I needed the crunch that I was missing. Moreover the restaurant was busy and packed. They had rational Mexican decor and a nice bar to sit at if you didn't want a table, I would be back for more!

Frida's was next door to America's Tires and I had a hour to kill so I said to myself why not. There wasn't too many people as it was past the main hour for lunch so there was no wait to be seated. I was given the lunch menu opted for the Chicken Salad. The server brought out some chips & salsa. The chips & salsa were decent but not memorable. The Chicken Salad came out pretty quickly and first impression was it was a good size portion. Everything seemed fresh and I definitely was filled up. Service was efficient, the restaurant clean and price point was fairly priced. I'd say this was a decent experience and would go back to try more of menu.

My go to casual Mexican in Napa! Great for both pick up and sit down. The salsa is the best- always take some to go. The fajita salad is super filling with lots of toppings. Inside does smell a bit like the tire shop next door, but the food is fantastic once you get past that!

This place was amazing. A nice local restaurant, most who came in while we were there chatted with the employees on first name bases. The food was delicious, received it nice and hot and everything was fresh. The restaurant was easy to find and the atmosphere was welcoming.

We visited this quaint Mexican place in the area of Napa. Happy hour is from 3-6 pm. J Carlos was great super friendly and the meat was so tasty. If you're in the area, check them out there was the delightful treat in Napa.

Tostada Mexicana Salad - it was great!!! Just enough spice and was very fresh.

I've always found this place to have great food. Very little wait time. The food is always fresh and the service is always good. The biggest challenge can be finding parking in front of the restaurant but it's worth looking around.

With a wasabi and fennel infused vodka, it was too unique not to be curious about. Upon arriving and looking over the menu, SEVERAL cocktails stood out to me as intriguing to try. I started with the Wabi Sabi which was as interesting as it sounded. While I didn't pick up on fennel, you do pick up on the wasabi, but in the most subtle of ways. Think maybe lime/ginger sparkling water with just a hint of spice. Refreshing and different for sure. I also tried the Mucha Lucha w/ cilantro infused Siete Leguas Blanco, chorizo infused mezcal and cubes made of hot sauce that make the drink have a bit more of a kick as you allow them to melt. I did the HH chips and guac which was also accompanied with a tasty Chipotle sauce. Damn good actually. It'd be excellent served in a variety of ways. The deviled eggs aren't going to blow your mind, but I like that you get 4 different ones- and simply because I love eggs, I'd order them again. (They just wouldn't be a dish that brings me back). The bartender was great- helpful and attentive, even as more people began to filter in for an early afternoon. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Napa to check out some other menu options.

I used cash and credit card everywhere accept here where I used my debit card with the male bartender. My friends used their cards with the female bartenders that arrived later and had no issues/fraudulent transactions. I don't know how it happened as I still had my ATM card, but as I headed home that evening I got a fraud alert showing 7 transactions just under 400 made at an online thrift store. They attempted an 8th purchase which was declined by my bank and the only reason I was notified. The place wasn't packed (Maybe 6 other ppl outside my group) and no one else was close enough to scan or get my card information from me other than the male bartender. My bank told me after investigating it was initiated from a Napa IP address and no, I don't live in Napa and of course i didn't make these purchases. What caught my eye was their Taco Tuesday specials and today just happens to be Tuesday! We came in early evening, just before the dinner rush and apparently this is a very popular local bar and grill. Most of their customers were regulars, I could tell. It felt warm and comfortable inside and it had a very community feel in there. I was observing how the server conversed with every customer and she was so kind and attentive. She was very helpful to me in suggesting some of their popular menu items. We got the fish tacos, the shrimp tacos, the lamb sliders, Brussels sprouts, grilled tri-tip, the flautas and the empanadas. I would say my personal favorites were the grilled tri-tip, the Brussels sprouts and the empanadas. The Brussels sprouts were lightly crispy and chewy but absorbed all the roasted shallot vinaigrette, so it was a nice umami bite every time. The tri-tip was cooked like I like it (I don't like my beef bloody, sorry, not sorry). It was so flavorful thanks to the black truffle compound butter! Omg! It was delicious! The empanadas were lightly crispy and came with a really good chipotle crema sauce and I was dipping my empanada in that sauce because it really complemented the chicken tinga filling and crispy cornmeal crust. My oldest son loved the fish tacos. They were so crispy and loaded. My youngest son loved the lamb sliders. They were tasty and had a slight smokiness but the rosemary aioli brought it all together for me. It was such a nice touch. Overall, based on the outstanding service we received and the delicious food, I would highly recommend this place if you're in Napa. We live in the East Bay, but whenever I come to Napa, I will remember to stop here to get some good eats! The staff was also friendly and super sweet!

However, the truffle flavor that made it shine during the first visit was much more subdued on our second.
