Low stars because the coffee I got here was kind of burnt. Might have been a bad day but also the croissants I got weren't fresh and pretty plain. I got a latte with one pump of lavendar syrup (+75 cents). It was super subtle so I asked for another pump and was asked to pay another 75 cents. Makes sense I guess but most coffee shops I've been to have made minor adjustments to my drink for free.

Cute coffee shop with a variety of coffee options! There's also a good number of pastries/cookies as well along with outlets. Ten years later, and I still stop by Frisson for my daily[1] cortado. (And sometimes for a pastry.) This is a coffee shop I'm loyal to, and they've earned it through tasty coffee and solid customer service. Here's to ten years of Frisson Espresso, and to ten more! [1] That is, when I'm in the neighborhood, since I don't live in Hell's Kitchen anymore (as of press time). Even though I'm an irregular regular, their staff somehow remembers me.

Great location for coffee and snacks near Times Square... since it's between 8-9th, it feels gloriously removed from the crowds. Charming, small, cozy with some seating (we didn't have a problem securing seats, but maybe that's because Saturday matinees were in progress, meaning maybe the timing was in our favor). The cappuccino was good, though my friend who had a vanilla latte was not impressed, nor was I when I tried it.

After constantly being disappointed by coffee places in Manhattan over the years, I finally found a really decent place. The cafe space is small and warm. The traditional Macchiatos were made very well. The beans were of decent quality. The staff was nice and efficient. What more do you want? I would def return here. read more

Cute coffee shop around the corner from time square. Plenty of seating, no bathroom. Quick service. They make cappuccinos the same way as they make flat whites though, so if you are picky about your coffee, I wouldn't recommend this place, but grabbing a quick coffee, it's a charming coffee stop read more

First time to NYC. This was our go to for Morning coffee. The people were so nice. Great baristas!!!!! The coffee was amazing. Try the Japanese cold brew for some serious wire. Out of the coffee shops k went to while I was in NY, this was my favorite one. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was outstanding! The espresso tasted good, not bitter or burn at all. Along with the foam it was nice and smooth. Meaning no air bubbles at all. The staff were very nice. They treat you as if you're a regular there with small talk but in a genuine way. It's a bit out of the way from Times Square but I recommend getting caffeinated here before you go about your day or explore the city. read more

Phenomenal latte (sorry forgot to take a photo) and great food options. I was very impressed with the croissant since I am very particular about them. Cute neighborhood coffee shop! I stop by once in a while at this place, and was always greeted by the super friendly barista. The shop has a nice cool vibe, and it also has assorted pastries items along with a comprehensive coffee menu. I ordered a large iced oat latte, and was happy to see they used Oatly (which is my fav) for the milk. The barista is super nice, and remembered my order after my initial visit a few weeks ago. Coffee is really good, but it is slightly pricey. However, definitely a neighborhood gem that I will be consistently visiting. read more

Living the in the Seattle area, I've tried a lot of different espresso drinks. I've got to say, the coffee here is the best I've found in NYC and as good as any I've had anywhere. I got the hot matcha latte with vanilla to sweeten it - tastes lightly of matcha - not too bitter. I came here mainly to see the intricate latte art I had seen in other yelp photos - unfortunately, I ended up getting a plain heart this time, but maybe in the future they'll spice up the design. Definitely will say the barista is a fun and nice guy - they seem to know their regulars very well and are able to whip up their orders. However, you're looking at only one person doing all the drinks - so if there are even 1-2 people who ordered a latte before you, you'll have a long wait for your drink. I also tried the mini pecan pie (toasted, of course) - tastes really good, but the toast wasn't even (i.e. the pie is usually displayed in a fridge, causing the center of the pie to be cold vs the outside, which was disappointing). Given how long I waited to get the pie (I think it was long done its toast cycle, but since it's only one guy - hard to multitask getting your pastry ready and your drink at the same time). read more

Small cafe in Hell's Kitchen w/decent coffee. Used to love this place for their raspberry scones, but think they've changed it (at least, today they had different ones). Wasn't a huge fan of the raspberry scones they serve now; they taste like a sugar cookie, wayy too sweet. Iced americano was alright! Not bad, but nothing special. read more

Pretty disappointed with the coffee here. We ordered two large Vanilla Lattes with Oat Milk. When ordering, the guy asked if we wanted to add a shot of espresso to balance out the extra milk, which confused us since larger sizes normally come with 3 shots versus 2 shots of espresso for the size down. We did say no, as our assumption was that we were paying for the size upgrade for more caffeine and not just more milk. Unfortunately, we were wrong in thinking so. First sip in and I questioned how much caffeine was really in this cup. Basically, we paid $15 for milk. read more

Stopped in here for the first time before heading to work. I was greeted immediately by a friendly man. Ordered a large cappuccino wIth almond milk. The barista said they only have one size and it's small lol. I said that was fine. He made it quickly. It was $4.75 which is a little pricey for the size. But it was delicious! A little bitter at first. The foam was perfect and he made a beautiful design with the almond milk. I only wish it came in a larger size! Haha. I'll be back to try more menu items for sure.. read more

Iced americano and iced coffee were a bit watery but ok...not the worst caffeinated beverages ever...I preferred my iced americano to my friend's iced coffee (a tad less watery). I do wish the large came with at least three espresso shots, instead of two, like the small. 3.25/5 stars read more

Came in on a rainy Sunday afternoon to a cute little coffee shop. The shop itself was pretty cozy with only a few tables and a bar on the side. Thankfully when my friend and I went in there was not many people around so we got our pick of seats. You go up to the counter to order and then they call up your order in a few minutes so service itself is pretty quick. I ordered a hot chocolate and it came out in an oversized mug with cute art on it. The hot chocolate was very creamy and delicious though a bit more on the sweeter side than I would have liked. All in all, a great place to spend an hour or two catching up with friends or just spending some time away from the hustle and bustle of the busy New York City streets. Additionally, the cafe does not have restrooms so make sure to plan accordingly! read more

So far this is the best coffee I've tried in the area, and the best service I've received since moving to the city. The latte art on my drink has been excellent every time, and every drink I've ordered has been high quality. My flat whites have all been a great temperature, had smooth milk texture, and were made with a good shot of espresso. From a drink perspective, Frisson isn't pushing any boundaries, but it doesn't need to. This shop knows what it's trying to do and does a damn good job of doing it. read more

For over 10 years I've been an avid coffee drinker. I've been to Café Grumpy, B.Bottle, Stumptown, Irv. Farm, you name it, I've been there! However, I've never felt more inclined to give a coffee shop a yelp review that is until I started coming to Frisson. The staff here cares as much about the service as they do the espresso. One of the baristas brought my cappuccino and warm apple cardamom over to my window seat as I waited for a friend! Also, I love that they are so transparent as far as their pastry sources. It's great to know what you're paying for. I'm no stranger to Bien Cuit Bakery (they are delicious). I also love the mini pecan pies that Frisson serves from Las Delicias Bakery (well known for their gluten free options). Although my 9-5 is super exciting (ha), coming here is truly a highlight of my work week. I cannot ask for better quality, overall. I am working on my second loyalty card!!! read more

This is by far the best coffee shop in this neighborhood. I have tried their second location located at 3rd ave and my experience was amazing and therefore I was around hells kitchen neighborhood and decided to stop by at 47th st and again, I was delighted. The baristas are efficient and get your order to you quickly but I was fairly disappointed by my vanilla latte overall. The taste of any vanilla syrup was lacking and the latte had very little consistency.
