My second visit and Fronks didn't disappoint. It was a pleasure to see Tori my waiter from the last visit. It felt good to be treated with such patient hospitality by Ariana. She was very attentive and informative. She even assisted my baby sis on a dinner that she wanted to get her hard working boyfriend. She made sure we were comfortable and ran back and forth getting us drinks and making sure our order was complete. I totally enjoyed myself. I wanted to like this place more but it was just 4/5 stars for me. The food is mostly fried or greasy, which is great, but it's not 5/5 in the fresh stars for me. Beer list is big but not deep into the craft beer scene- it's more Goose Island than it is local craft. It's also a very loud, busy space. Don't go here if you want something quiet... but if you want a greasy, pretty tasty meal with a decent beer list too... check it out. PS- they're covid safety is a 2.5/5 stars for me. I've never been to this place, I went for lunch on a Saturday and was seated in the patio by the hostess. I was charged a 20% fee on the total bill and when I asked my server why she said it's because UFC is on TV. I told her NO ONE told me about that fee and I don't see signs anywhere stating this AND I don't like or watch UFC. Really cool spot! I was pleasantly surprised by this place! My hubby and I went around 9 pm on a Friday night and only waited roughly 15 min for a table. They have really fun and nice staff, the vibe is really cool. And the food was good! I ordered a Mai tai and with a help check in I received a $2 off coupon which was nice! My hubby and I also shared the pulled pork nachos which were HUGE! For sure can feed 3-4 people, definitely worth it! I do wish they gave you some sour cream and maybe put some bbq sauce on it, but overall it was a good plate of nachos. My favorite part about last night was the DJ! His name is Joel, and he was LIT! He got everyone dancing and it was super fun, he kept playing the hits and I loved how lively and energetic he was with the crowd. They are seating at 50% capacity which I appreciate, and the staff provided really excellent service despite all of the COVID stuff. There's also parking just down the street for free! we have been here several times and I just realized I have never left a review. The pulled pork sandwich here is fantastic. I usually have a so so feeling about eating pulled pork. However, here at Fronk's it taxes great and it is now my go to meal. The pork is tender and flavorful, without too much fat. I order it open faced. It is served on a fresh bun with the pulled pork on top then it is topped by a slice of Jack cheese and coleslaw which I order on the side. It is served with a side of bbq sauce. For the sides I have tried macaroni and cheese and also the French fries. The mac and cheese is pretty good as are the fries. You will also find a variety of hot sauces placed around the restaurant. They offer indoor or patio seating. We have had wonderful service, except for the last visit, which I won't hold against them. Definitely will be back. read more

Owner refused to accommodate service animal to a disabled vet. When we called, the staff said they could accommodate seating as long as it was in the outdoor patio but when we arrived they denied and said they weren't "dog friendly." Response: The first thing you said when you approached was "I'm not dog friendly." Not a greeting or request for any supporting documentation on the service dog claim. Additionally, the guest attempted to show you his veteran and disabled status and you neglected to look at it. Needless to say, I will not be returning nor will I recommend this place to others considering this is how they treat those who serve. In spite of the speed, they don't skimp out on the quality either. Everything is cooked to taste delicous! They have a variety of different colorful and flavorful drinks. Only recommendation I have for the business, is to have a menu that caters to late night feeding with maybe half off and smaller portions on appetizers. Been going here since it was a small shop on Alondra with Jaime Fronk owning it, followed it over to Bellflower Blvd and it was still good. But got my usual mushroom burger last night and it was just not good at all, meat was very bland like it didnt even get some basic salt and pepper thrown on it. The amount of mushrooms you get has gone down (used to be a lot) but the amount of lettuce and tomato was waaaay to much. The swiss cheese also appeared to be a thinner slice than before. I understand prices for everything have gone up but Fronks was always a place you went to knowing you'd be paying a bit more for a better product. I know longer feel that is the case. Even the seasoning you use on the fries has changed, they taste like there is more sugar on them and less season. I really dont think i'll be coming back again. read more

I've been driving past Fronk's for years (and years), but finally had the opportunity to visit. I liked some things; others, not so much. I like to end on a positive note so, here goes... A friend and I shared a couple things - the Hand Battered Onion Rings and the Battered Chicken-N-Chips. Onion rings were great but, as soon as the latter dish arrived, saw that the chicken strips were prepared with the same batter. This batter worked well with the veggies (I'm guessing it's also used on the zucchini and mushrooms) but, when used on something like chicken strips, things get a little too one-note. The chicken strips (which indeed looked freshly-prepared) absolutely deserve a different coating; something I hope Fronk's considers in the future. Both the sides, french fries and cole slaw, were excellent. Service was good and caring. Muzak is also a bit too loud; challenging to have a conversation. One notch lower on the volume control would probably make it perfect. Considering the minor nits, will I go back to Fronk's? Definitely, looking forward to my next visit! read more

Came here with some friends after a fishing trip, pretty busy place with lots of tables. We ordered fried mushrooms, fried zucchini sticks and a half order of sweet potato fries for starters. Everything was delicious, especially their chipotle sauce for the sweet potato fries--be warned though, they do pepper their sweet potato fries which do make them a little bit different. I ended up getting the mighty mushroom swiss with a vege patty and mac and cheese. It was huge! I only got through about half of it and took the rest home.. The bun was really toasty on the outside, I wasn't sure if I was going to like that, but ended up pleasantly surprised that it complemented the texture of the mushrooms, cheese, and the patty. BF ended up getting the pulled pork and sausage.. it was so much food he only got through half himself. Leftovers, yay! Overall, a very good meal.. warning though.. the appetizers are searing hot, they WILL burn your mouth.. please make sure you blow on them and cool accordingly before ingesting.. lol. read more

Little did we know, that we would have one of the worst food experiences ever. This is, without a doubt, THE WORST food establishment I've ever been to. My 805 beer, FLAT and skunky tasting. I asked for a replacement and our waitress graciously switched it (she was a small bright light in our experience here). We ordered the fried mushrooms (actually pretty solid), the 3 taco plate with rice and beans, and the bacon avocado burger with sweet potato fries. My girlfriend's tacos were dry and smaller than the tacos you get at the taquero on the corner. Her beans and rice were tasty. As for my burger: the buns were dry, the cheese wasn't fresh, and the potato fries were soggy and cold. The icing on the cake was that we paid $74 (before tip) for our food. $17 for the taco plate and $22 for my burger plate!!! And we found a hair in our ranch dressing. This burger joint is definitely on the pricier end, so that's something to note before coming. The Bull Burger was alright, nothing too special about the taste that left me wanting more. The fries were a bit on the thicker cuts so it's not really as crispy as you expect fries to be.
