My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment. They specialize in burgers sandwiches and shakes. I finally got the chance to order their Dubai milkshake, which included pistachio kanafi, chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream. The portion size was great. The overall shake was not too sweet, which I like. Everything overall was very well balanced. I ordered the pastrami melt and my husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak, which again was very well balanced flavors. The overall experience was great. The customer service along with the food is what does it for me every time.

Chocolate soft serve ice cream cone!

Good soft serve ice cream is getting difficult to find...especially chocolate ice cream, and this spot doesn't disappoint! Though I've never tried their food, I always come for a cone. The large is huge for less than five dollars and you can also get ice cream in a cup. They have an extensive menu of old fashioned drive in restaurant food...shakes, sundaes, burgers and sandwiches all reasonably priced. The ice cream though is the best!

I got to try this place through Door Dash. They were very quick, and I was surprised by the amount that was given. The Chicken Cheesesteak was made as an open face sandwich, but it showed that they gave a lot of protein. The sandwich was so big, it sorta broke, so I had to eat some of my sandwich with a fork. However, it was very delicious. The fries were also very good, a good pairing with the sandwich. They weren't lying when they said the Philly cheese chicken was there most popular.

Long story short, we went through the drive thru Tuesday evening and ordered a Chicken strip dinner and Cheeseburger cooked well done. We get home, no cheese is on my burger, it's bland & was charged for cheese that I never got. I had to use my own cheese! So, I called and spoke with the manager "Havii", he instructed me to bring back a half eaten burger, that I end up throwing away.

Far beyond disrespectful! Do not eat here !

If it was up to me I would give this place a 0 stars. We had the worst costumer service from employee Jasmine. We had a long day at our son's state tournament and our kids were hungry and we decided what we had thought would be a great idea to try this place. As I was trying to order Jasmine was giving us an attitude after trying to start my order. This place lost money we decided to leave and I did tell the employee she had a bad attitude to cancel my order and let her know that caused us to leave. We ended up going to jack in the box across the street we spend over $100 on our order it was all worth it! They treated us well, fresh food and fast service. I hope their employee Jasmine has better days. We do not recommend this place to anyone!

The food was so delicious tht I legitimately didn't want to stop eating it.. First time ever coming here but I'm sure glad I did .. it definitely hit all the right spots

For a typical diner style drive-through food...it's absolutely amazing. I love the fact that they don't serve any pork products. The bacon is beef. I really like how they have an array of different items you can order from hamburgers to burritos, fried fish, pastrami sandwiches, Philly-steak sandwiches, fried okra, fried pickles, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets, banana splits, ice cream cones, sundaes and of course my favorite Shrimp Salad. Their ingredients seem to be extremely fresh. The service is a lovely, very professional and kind people. I would strongly recommend this to all my friends and family.

. The shrimp is tasty. The owner of this amazing place is extremely nice.. You can even customize you're food here.

It's amazing and the owner is very kind The food and dessert is yummy. Come bring the family for some treats here.

What kind of fish is on the fish sandwich?

White fish. They are frozen patties we deep fry. We are known more for our delious hamburgers and pastramis.

    Is all the meat halal?

I know the beef is at the Sacramento restaurant. I will have to ask the owner on the chicken patties and pastrami and get back to you.

    Is this place halal?

Yes we are at the Sacramento restaurant. We are testing it out there and should roll it out to the rest of the chain by the first of the year.

Do they have any vegetarian/vegan options available?

Yes we have a veggie patty and a full line if salads with and without chicken.

The moment you walk in, the retro 1950s diner ambience immediately transports you back to classic Americana dessert culture. They've apparently been serving Sacramento for over 37 years! - Hot Fudge Sundae -- made with Gunther's vanilla & chocolate ice cream, topped with whipped cream, pralines, and a candied cherry; beautifully presented with warm hot fudge drizzled all over - Lemon Raspberry Cake -- moist sponge cake layered with lemon, raspberry, and whipped cream; balanced sweetness with buttercream-coated sides The red booth seating and vintage Americana decor really complete the nostalgic vibe. Service was friendly and quick, and the overall ambience was cozy, retro, and diner-themed. Rick's Dessert Diner definitely feels one-of-a-kind, I'll have to stop by again next time I'm passing through Sacramento.

I was right next to them sitting at a table with my brother so of course I heard, and I got up and I said what's up with this grandma stuff, and he said that he answered her question and told her that he thought I was her grandmother. Honestly, I felt completely insulted like you're not supposed to say things like that to your customers or even about your customers. I felt myself getting ready to go completely off on him, so I walked away and went to sit back down. He had the audacity to tell my niece some people can't handle the truth. It's so baffling to me that a manager would say something like that. I know employees sometimes say inappropriate things, but he should know better!! This was supposed to be a nice family outing and he ruined my night. Luckily I have confidence in myself and his comment didn't give me a complex or make me like I look old. It was also disappointing because I went in there specifically to get an eclair, which is normally a decent size. For some reason, it was the half of the size and the same price.

We arrived and were seated promptly which was nice. But then our server went on break, we got a new server, they took our order and about 30 minutes later, they brought out all of the food except for two entrees. A kids entree and an adult entree. They said they were going to make the food but we sat there while we watched dozens of people sit down and leave, staff rarely checked on us, and then an hour later, they finally bring out the food. It was an absolute disaster. The server apologized (the manager never came to acknowledge the issue even though they spoke to the server about the situation) and the server stated that there was some sort of miscommunication with the order. To be honest, I was more upset about the fact that by the time the two entrees came out, everyone was already done eating. So those two people just had to box their food and eat it later. After dinner, it was ice cream time. We order my son's ice cream (just a scoop of chocolate) first at least 15 minutes before they take anybody else's order at the table. They proceed to take everyone else's order (sundaes and specialty ice creams) and get this...my kid's ice cream came out 30 minutes after everyone else got their ice cream. Absolutely terrible experience and once again, no manager interaction with us, just the server claiming some sort of miscommunication again. My kid's food (the entree and the ice cream) was what came out a whopping combined time of one and a half hours late. They comped the grilled cheese sandwich but then had the audacity to charge for the ice cream! And on top of this...they automatically charged gratuity for the whole table! I 100% hate that this was my one and only experience with this place given its history, but this was just a disgusting display of customer service and the lack of integrity.
