So we've been eating food from this location and it's been good. Today we decided to try out their milkshakes. The menu is a bit confusing. I thought I was ordering a snickers milkshake based on their menu but it turned out to be ice cream with snickers bits. Ok, fine. Well at first glance it looks cool but as soon as that too layer of snickers was gone (first pic) all I was left with was vanilla ice cream with some snicker crumb (second pic). Not chunks of snickers, CRUMBS. .and very few crumbs at that. Very disappointing. If this is what the candy mix looks like I think I'll just stick to their food. Update: I received a nasty, unprofessional response from the owner or someone who works at this restaurant regarding this review. Instead of taking responsibility for dropping the ball on my order and/or providing a resolution, they attacked me for being honest about my experience. Service has gotten faster since they opened - took like 25 min the first time we came (not long after they first opened) and now it takes like 10-15 min depending on how many people are in line. Burgers are on the larger side and flavorful. Generous amount of crinkle fries with meals. It's a lot better than the competition, but service and location keep me from coming more often. Also, service is not only slow but it's not very friendly. It can be difficult to order through the drive-thru, like it can be hard to hear/understand each other when ordering. They misheard part of our order and it took longer for them to fix it in POS system than it took to get us our food. They acted like it was our fault and we were causing a hassle..so just don't expect much in terms of service. Note: they charge $0.50 for using a card to pay, no matter the amount. I understand, but find it disappointing that they don't offer a minimum spend option (like they won't charge the extra fee if you spend a minimum amount like $10). They are not friendly, can't follow a simple order then get angry at you if they are wrong. First burger...I was super specific. Tom, Onion, mayo...on TOP of the cheese. Came back with also pickle, and nasty shredded lettuce and a orange pink sauce...on the bottom. I showed him. Very politely, a.imed, said, This isn't what I ordered. He scowled at me. Yes my friend and I just left Frosty Queen we had the shrimp salad with shrimp basket and to top it off on the hot day had ice cream swirl and fruit ice cream cup and it was so delicious I have never had anything like it. I try to share with everyone the excellent service they have, the fast and readiness and the complete cleaning of the restaurant you can never leave without a smile on your face. Always taking a to go basket with you. There restaurant and cooking skills are very great. They where gloves and are so compliant with making your order complete. Frosty queen is were the king of burgers used to be. But definitely glad the queen is here now. With way more to offer and better food. They have alot to offer here from burgers, cheesesteaks, chicken, appetizers, milk shakes, icecream and more. Coworker has been getting the chilli cheese fries and milkshakes for a while, so I had to go give them a try. So I went with a combination, double cheese burger with swiss for my choice of cheese. They do have a few kinds to choose from. Then with the crinkle cut fries. Those were great to and happy to find another spot still serving them up. But they do have more kinds also. Then for my drink, I upgraded to a milkshake, peanutbutter. That was good, they Blended that peanut butter perfectly, able to suck it through the straw and get full taste and not just clumps of it. There drive-thru and seating inside area have the same hours. So your choice were to go when there open. I went through the drive-thru and the service and quickness was good. So my uncle recommended frosty queen about a week ago, and I cannot believe it's taken me so long to try it out!! It's like a combination of Dairy Queen and Sonics!! Their menu is endless and their prices are great! We came in late on a Monday night and the drive thru wasn't working; not sure what was going on but no one was answering us at the order box. So we pulled up, parked and walked in to see a young lady with the headset on but not answering, hmmm. Any who, we ordered several burgers, a few fry options and plenty of sweetness. It came out to be $40 which was a steal for a family of 10! My fiancé had their San Joaquin burger, pastrami w/ meat patty, and he said it was fulfilling but nothing over the top. My sister in law had a jr. burger that was $1.39? But it was decent size and pretty tasty!! I had their chili cheese fries, which were smothered and delicious! I also shared their small strawberry shake and it was sooooo creamy! You could tell they used real ice cream. I'm craving it as I type this review. Lol With prices like this, you cannot go wrong! So I was hoping that this place would be really good since it took over the old Burger King location. My goddaughter was with me so I decided to get her some dessert before taking her home . There were about two cars in front of me in the drive thru when I gave my order. They were there for a while. I was hoping it wouldn't take long since it was only two cars. I was hungry so I decided to buy something to eat while I got her dessert from here as well. I really couldn't decide - some items looked good, others didn't. I don't really eat beef burgers, pastrami, etc so I decided on the taquito dinner. Placing my order was like pulling teeth. I don't know if the girl was helping somebody else on the inside while she was taking the order, but it took a few times to get it placed correctly and to answer my questions. The two cars were still in front of me. I waited about ten minutes. I pulled up and they handed me the strawberry fruit mix. The lid didn't fit the cup, so the girl warned me of that. Of course my goddaughter still got ice cream all over the back seat because it started melting and the ice cream started overflowing out of the top since it was filled so high...smh. She handed me my meal after about 3 minutes. I opened it to make sure everything was included. All I saw was one packet of ketchup. I figured it was for the French Fries. I asked the girl if they had salsa for the Taquitos. She looked at me in a daze. She offered ranch dressing or ketchup. I said "For Taquitos???"...lol. She just kept looking at me and said well we don't have specific sauces. I said ok thank you. Then she offered me ranch again. I told her no that sounds gross but thank you anyway. I didn't like the Taquitos, I was thinking they would be chicken. The fries were salty, so I only ate a few of those. I ate the inside of the toasted bread since it was softer. The salad didn't look appealing so I didn't eat it. The dinner was a waste of money. I probably should have went with my gut and ordered a chicken salad. I don't think this is the spot for me. This new fast food restaurant recently opened up in my neighborhood. It took the place of the former Burger King. Now the queen has taken over the king. When Joe K and I decided to check them out, I was impressed at the large wall menu and the number of selections to choose from! Burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, salads and the list seems almost endless! They even let you customize your meal to your liking! I was happy to see that they had some shrimp, fish and chicken options too! When we arrived at the order counter, I asked for the shrimp basket, but apparently they were already out of shrimp right at dinner time of 6:00 pm! So I ordered a fish basket instead that included medium fries. Joe got the San Juaquin burger combo with pastrami and an extra beef patty. The combo included a large fry and drink. As we sat at a booth, we noticed that the interior was pretty spacious and had plenty of room for a lot of customers. They seemed to be doing a fair business while we waited. The patrons near us were eating shrimp dinners and we assumed that we must have just missed out on the last of the shrimp. Only we soon observed another customer just sitting down with his own shrimp meal! I was kind of disappointed, since shrimp is one of my favorite foods! The food wasn't the greatest, and we agreed that it was just OK for a fast food place. They didn't offer tarter sauce for the fish meal and there was no root beer at the fountain drink machine. Joe's burger lacked flavor and the fries were crispy on the outside but mushy on the inside. I first found out about Frosty's when I was trying to get to Burger King, which used to be at this location. It's on the corner of Mack and Stockton, a busy intersection that is popular with panhandlers. So keep that in mind when you are visiting. The food is pretty good. My sister had a San Joaquin burger (beef patty with pastrami) and enjoyed it so much she's still talking about it. I tried the hot wings basket; the chicken was flavored well and not too dry and the fries, while crinkle cut and thus not as crunchy as I prefer, had a good seasoning salt. We were craving something sweet and different. I been here a couple of times. They have good ice cream and my wife and I tried the Strawberry Mixed Fruit and my wife got the Parfait. It was really good and they put a lot of fruit. I also got the pastrami sandwich and it was Huge! I didn't get to take a pic of that because I ate it before I remembered to take a pic lol. They need more workers. I went after church, so it was busy. There were only a few workers though, but that compromised the food quality. They didn't put cheese on the cheeseburger and when asked to, they took a while, so I thought they were melting it. It came back and the cheese was just a regular cold slice, unmelted. Idk why it took so long if they weren't melted. The salad dressing never came with the salad, and neither did the side of dressing for the burger. Last, but not least, the toast that comes with the salad meal was barely toasted. I'm not exaggerating either. The bread looked like a normal, thick, white piece of bread. Toast should have some appearance of the toaster or grill. There was none. I advise not to get the nacho fries. They are more expensive than the regular fries, but there are no toppings. Just nacho cheese. I thought there would be toppings for the price. On a lighter note: I will go back when it is less busy and see if the food comes out better. The employees were nice, and I did not make a big deal out of asking for the cheese and sauces that were missing.The milkshakes are to die for. I highly enjoyed my burger. This is a horrible location so hard to get in and out as the intersection is always backed up. I found this gem in Fresno, and then they finally came to Sac. They used to have daily specials which were different combinations on special each day. Then they got rid of their specials, but kept their combos. Hi I'm here to put out that I went last night for a chicken basket and I felt very welcomed by a young lady taking my order. I asked for her name at the window and she said it was Maribel and she had the most excellent costumer service compared to my past visits at other fast food locations. I was hungry on my way to Costco after work. I wanted to try something different. I was craving for a nice Pastrami Sandwich. I ordered a Pastrami Sandwich and their basic fries. I also ordered an additional on the side Onion Rings. I have to say the Pastrami Sandwich was ok. It wasnt like I was impressed or moved by it. I believe a solid 3, but my disclaimer is that I didn't order any ice cream or dessert, simply lunch. The menu is same style, but more diverse food options, than a rival queen in the dairy market. I felt extremely hungry, so I ordered the chicken strips and fries, and a grilled cheese as well. The chicken strips took awhile, but that's ok, because they tasted as if they had been fried to order. Hot and crispy, but not dry. The fries were crinkle cut, another favorite of mine. The grilled cheese, however, didn't seem as if it was actually grilled, as it wasn't fully melted. I wouldn't mind coming back to try their burgers, burritos, nacho fries, and desserts. Poor place has an identity crisis. It doesn't know if it is a Foster Freeze of a Dairy Queen. I know one thing, it is not a fish & chips or it would not have pretended to run out of shrimp. The soft ice cream part seemed set up kind of strange but I was not paying that close of attention. One thing I do know though is that their burgers don't have much flavor and the flavor they do have is kind of weird and not much like what you would expect from a ground beef patty. Perhaps they should have salted my two patties because they sucked the flavor right out of the pastrami and the special sauce didn't add much flavor either. The sauce did do a nice job of getting the bun soggy though. It started falling apart before I was even near halfway finished causing an avalanche of lettuce and pastrami to fall upon my serving platter. I believe they called it a Joaquin Burger but I think calling it an Avalanche Burger would have been more fitting. Don't get me wrong, I didn't completely dislike the burger. After all, the pickle chips were damn good. I ordered the meal deal so I got crinkle fries and an orange soda included in my meal. The crinkle fries were both plentiful and nondescript. Perhaps turning up the fryer a bit so they were nicely crunchy on the outside would have been a nice touch? Ida tried to order fried shrimp but they said they were out so she ordered the fish and chips. I probably could have made them better in the oven with frozen fish and crinkly fries from the Grocery Outlet down the street. What can I say?
