Sadly to my surprise, this is only a drive thru setup! Fortunately, they still serve you, kindly, if you're walking through the drive thru, and my hotel was just across the street. $8 Bacon Blue Burger...solid, thick, meaty patty with crispy bacon, blue cheese, mayo, lettuce...much better than Big Mac, Whopper, or Famous Star, or Whataburger. $9 Fish Burger...a nice tender juicy white fish fillet perfectly deep fried in a thick golden crispy batter. I go to Frugals by Costco off and on in Kalispell. This week I ordered the Gouda Bacon Burger because the proceeds go to the foodbank. I ordered a double patty through the drive through. Sadly, Frugals isn't it! I was excited to try the local burger joint but the food didn't live up to my expectations based on the hype it receives around town. Burger was underwhelming, and the signature sauce was just bleh, it gave the whole patty and bun a mustardy flavor which ruined the entire thing imo. Crazy cheap open late high vegetarian options.. really there's nothing not to like about at Frugals. My daughter, a born again vegan loved it. the double and vegetarian burgers are great. We were the last customer and they just loaded us up on all the fries.. great stop. Still one of the best burgers in the valley. Very good price considering you pay the same for a burger there and it's amazing versus paying the same at McDonald's and it's dog poop. Sometimes the long line gets a little annoying, but definitely worth the wait. And it is nice with the burgers to have that one that changes up seems like on a monthly basis. Once in awhile it's nice to have something other than just a regular cheeseburger although I could just do that every time I get something there and not get tired of it. Normally Frugals delivers great hamburgers, but I visited them on Friday afternoon, August 11 to get two bacon cheeseburgers for me and my wife. When I got home I began eating the burger and something was wrong. There was only bacon--NO HAMBURGER! My wife checked her hamburger. Nope, NO BURGER INSIDE! Now, I paid over $8 for the bacon cheeseburger meal and foolish me--I even left a fairly large tip because I felt sorry for the young lady at the window--she was missing her front teeth! The fries were good, but it seems to me buying a hamburger without the burger inside is a very egregious screw up and I'll never go there again. Were the employees upset that day? 1/11/19 update: I waited a long time even though there were only 2 cars ahead. I waited at the window even longer. The worker then told me it would be a while and asked if I wanted a free milkshake. I thought, sweet! Free milkshake! But it was too thick to get up the straw. When he finally handed me my very basic order of chicken sandwich with fries and a drink, he apologized "for the order mix-up." I felt terrible for the several cars stuck behind me. She was training someone new and was being rude to her. Not really helping her at all. She was completely hostel and horrible at customer service. One of the most rude people I've encountered. They really need to put more consideration into hiring people. Plus the food was terrible, tasted like it was microwaved. I can't rate my experience it was so bad. The one here is only because I had to select a rating!!! Our son wanted to try this place to see how it measured up to a burger place in our home state. Placed an order online. Got a message it was ready. Showed up and waited in line to give the cashier our order number. Got our food and it was missing our fries and a shake. So the cashier went back to check. Then proceeded to not give us an update on our order. We watched while other people who ordered in restaurant received their shakes and orders. I finally asked about our ordered after 20 MINUTES - trying to be patient and understanding. The staff seemed overwhelmed and order fulfillment was chaotic. We did get our fries and shake but by now our burgers were cold. The customer service was terrible and no urgency or concern. We'd still be waiting if I hadn't asked about the order. To top it off, a customer called me a bit - - after I asked about our order. Just great all around, right? Who doesn't love to be treated like that. How on earth have I not reviewed Frugals yet!?! My husband grew up in Kalispell and grew up with Frugals. I didn't, but I love it like I did. The burgers are fantastic! They use quality ingredients, the burgers have a lot of great toppings including mayo (a must in my book), and they toast the buns. And they are well-priced. I am not a huge fry person but Ioooooove Frugals fries! Thin, crispy, they use good oil (I'm thinking it is peanut oil). I don't even use ketchup with them. I know Frugals is technically a fast food chain, but honestly it does not taste or seem that way. The burgers are better than a lot of diner burgers! It's a busy night favorite in our house...no matter the day of the week we call it "Frugals Friday!" Even our toddler loves it. I recently won a month of free Frugals burgers for an Instagram contest (best month of my life! Lol). I'm half way through the month and I'm still not sick of them, even when having one a day. What makes a good burger? We all know what the answer is, but no two answers are going to align perfectly. I've eaten a plant based diet for several years now. What makes a great burger for me is very different than most. Frugal's makes a very good plant based Garden Burger. It scratches the itch for me, when I want a burger, when I want all the components that make a great meal. Sour pickles, crunchy lettuce, juicy meat, tart mustard, spicy onions, sweet ketchup. Hold the unhealthy mayo. The fries are very tasty, but deep fried anything isn't good for you, so I generally avoid them. But when I do I order them unsalted, so feel free to hold the salt. Your blood pressure will thank you. Frugal's is a solid burger joint, but at a better than average price point. That's where Frugal's excels, in value. I enjoy going to both frugals in Kalispell and I can't say either one is better as I have had great service and great food from both locations. Frugals off the 93 yesterday was right on as always. I misunderstood how a coupon worked and the younger man at the window was nice about it and gave me the discount anyways and so I tipped them with amount I already was going to tip plus the amount he gave me as a discount. I heard one guy getting mad because the wait was little longer then normal but what I say about that is learn some patience because I rather wait a little longer for freshly cooked food then to eat McDonald's microwaved burgers. Just sayin. I should have got the man's name at window so he could get recognition for doing a great job. He had a tattoo on his arm I think. Anyways I highly recommend both locations! I will forever love frugal's yummy food and will continue to come back, however I'm not impressed with one of the staff members I had to deal with a couple weeks ago. Let's just start off by saying I just got done putting in an amazing google review for you guys months ago. Whenever i need my burger fix, frugal's it is. On this particular day i didn't use the drive through and my friend and i walked in. Upon walking in i was greeted by the cashier with an awful look on her face as if she was already annoyed with me. My guy friend ordered first and she was quite frankly nice to him but her whole demeaner changed when she took my order. First off, i was interrupted at least twice. I was watching the prices as i order sauteed onions on my burger every time. She put them in for three times the price as they are on the menu (and what i pay for them each time) I don't mind if the price actually went up but she had the audacity to tell me it was because of inflation. If she was truly being honest, then why did i pay for sauteed onions today at their normal price? Be honest, BE nice and enjoy your job or get a new one! :] I am usually super impressed with the friendliness and food in frugals but i guess there's sometimes a bad egg in a bunch, it happens! read more

They don't even get upset that I drive through the left side when I don't have anyone on the passenger side and I crawl over to the passenger side to hand them my card. haha. Hate to write reviews but after what I just dealt with I had to. I had ordered a number one with bacon with a Dr. Pepper and a mushroom Swiss. A simple order that they had left out the mushroom Swiss I ordered at 8:06pm at the speaker got my food about 8:12. Paid for my food and went on about my business. Drove down the road and realized I was missing a mushroom Swiss burger for my wife so I went back to pick up the mushroom Swiss burger. They told me to pull to the window I had. Kindly asked if I can have him order fresh fries since it has been now 30 minutes all together. Since I initially placed my order. They gave me two coupons for $4 and refuse to give me an order of fresh fries which is all I wish for offered to give the fries back and they said no. They can assure the fries were fresh when they initially gave them to me. I had emphasized that it has not been 30 minutes since I place my initial order and they left out food have me to come back and they still refused to give me other fries.
