Ok so.....I don't post reviews very often but I had to give credit where it is due! This is the best take out we've had during the corona virus situation - possibly the best ever. We chose the beach body family pack with healthy chicken option and it is delicious! The pasta is amazing and has very light sauce and the asparagus was spot on as well. It came with a super fresh garden salad and sun dried tomato dressing and their home made bread - it's the best. Thanks Anthony and crew for making shelter at home special this Saturday night . This was our first visit to Frugatti's, and as you enter the restaurant the ambiance is really nice. It reminds me a little of Miceli's down in Hollywood. we went at 3 pm which isn't a busy time, but it was lovely to see several customers in the restaurant at that off hour. The decorations are really cute and keep the eye entertained. The service was great, our waitress kept checking on us to make sure we were enjoying everything, which we were. I had the original Neapolitan margherita pizza and my husband had the meatball original lasagna. We thoroughly enjoyed both, I kept stealing bites of his lasagna. The lasagna reminded me of the one I used to make when I took the trouble to do it from scratch. The flavors were just delicious. We will definitely be back, and it's a cute place to take friends when you're craving Italian. I really have not one complaint about our experience there, it was perfect. Okay maybe two little things, entering the lot and the parking is not the best and I would have preferred a more sourdough style bread to enjoy with the olive oil, parmesan and vinegar they provide on the table. First, get there early! There is very limited parking, even on a Tuesday night. Second, a little noisy/reverberating, be tolerant. We ordered several meals and ate them "family style". Excellent Service! My family and I selected Frugatti's to cater my sister's wedding. Our server, Richard, was excellent. He was super polite, helpful, and very courteous. The food was delivered on time and without hassle. Set up was quick and easy. Everything was served hot. The food tasted amazing. We had the Pinot Grigio Chicken with fettuccine as one side and pene with a meat sauce as the other side. We also had salad and rolls. There was more than enough food for everyone to go back for seconds and thirds and still had left overs. Richard kept the dinner moving smoothly. Excellent service and quality food. Thank you! Wow. This is a really good Italian place. They start out with fresh bread and oil/vinegar. We ordered pasta which tasted like it was made from scratch and very fresh. The tiramisu had way too much cream but the pasta was so good, I had to keep it at 5 stars. Good service and ample parking outside. I come here often and came here yesterday for my birthday. They had my favorite beer which is hard to find (Double Nut Brown). We had the bacon wrapped asparagus which is so simple but so delicious. My new favorite other than Teresa's tortellini is the Chicken in the Pinot Grigio Mushroom sauce white mashed potatoes. It is amazing and I'm bummed it's only on the dinner menu and not the lunch. I took home the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake which is delicious. My New favorite over any Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake. Love it and the staff is like family. The remodel is beautiful. Absolutely hands down the best Italian restaurant Bakersfield has to offer. Starting with the renovation of the exterior; it is so beautiful and a work of art, I just enjoy looking at the ceiling and the beautiful fountain. Walking in, the ambiance is amazing and just seems as though you walked through an authentic restaurant in an Italian village. The interior is beautiful and it was fun to look at all of the posters and decorations on the walls. Now onto the food, one of my weaknesses is bread and boy do they really make me weak here! The bread is always so fresh and it's quite tastier with olive oil and pepper. What makes it even better is that it's free! I also like how Frugatti's offers a free appetizer once you've checked in on Yelp and show your server. Unfortunately, I was in during lunch and it only applies for dinner. So if you're in for dinner, definitely take advantage of that offer. For an entree, I chose the famous Margherita Napolitano Pizza and I'm borderline addicted to it. Starting with the crust, it is so fresh and has a nice crunch to it and as you know, my weakness is bread so it's quite delicious. The tomatoes are crushed down so it makes it somewhat of a sauce. I'm not a fan of tomatoes, but I really enjoy the acidity of it and how it goes well with hand-made mozzarella. It seems so simple, but I know the creation of the pizza has a strict guideline so I truly appreciate it even more. I have absolutely no complaints about this dish and wish I could have it once a week! One thing I must add is that some of the people I go with complain that some of the dishes are too greasy, especially the dishes with pasta. I've also noticed it on their plates so hopefully that is something that could be fixed. Regardless, it doesn't turn them away from coming here time after time. Frugatti's is truly a wonderful restaurant from the servers/busboys to the ambiance and to the star of the show, the food. Try this place once and you will be wanting to come back! read more

I always love Frugatti's. We ordered it through Grubhub instead of going to the restaurant. We ordered two pastas and a salad. We did not receive the salad (or any bread that they normally include). I ran out and told the driver that I wanted a refund for the salad. Then as I was eating my pasta (that was cold), I received two calls from Grubhub regarding the issue. They did refund the base price for the salad but not the taxes or 18% tip on it which was also taxed. I know it's just a few bucks, and I wouldn't usually care, but the attitude that I got from Grubhub when I questioned it just made it worse. Obviously this is an experience that I wont't be repeating. I'll go to Frugatti's in person and leave the delivery to pizza companies that can get the order right. read more

We were craving Italian & this exceeded our expectations. This was our first time here & it was absolutely delicious! My husband had spaghetti & meatballs I had a calzone. We shared a triple chocolate cheesecake. The hostess was very nice who sat us our waitress was a sweetheart even though she was very busy she made time to check on us regularly. Had a nice dinner here with my family. It's one of our usual places to go for Italian in Bakersfield but noticed service slipping the past few visits. This time we had a nice young gentleman as our server. Don't recall seeing him there before so he may be fairly new. Restaurant was extremely busy and he had quite a few table to cover, but he made it a point to keep checking up on us whenever he'd pass by. Our drinks were refilled promptly and food came out fairly quickly. He had a friendly, enthusiastic attitude that seemed fresh. Not the case with all the servers here. Food was good as usual and always love the carrot cake for dessert. One thing that would be nice for management to improve upon is the freshness and quality of their rolls. The past few times the rolls were too hard. We asked for fresh rolls and the next batch was the same. They felt hard as a box on the outside and looked overdone. Didn't used to be the case. My husband and I have a traditional lasagna meal every year to celebrate our anniversary. It was the meal we had at our wedding. It is hard to find a restaurant in town that serves lasagna let alone a really awesome one. Well, frugattis has multiple lasagna options and they are so mouth watering. The atmosphere is very family friend and has been a favorite for my two littles. I don't have to worry about them being too loud because the atmosphere has a lot of wonderful background noise. You'll leave full of good food, with left overs. This place is expensive though. Most entrees are $20. After a beer at Dionysus we scooted over to Frugatti's. I'd only been once before (as a first date) and it has good yelp reviews and a yelp promotion. We were seated immediately at a table for four in a mostly empty restaurant around 5:30. By the time our appetizer arrived (as part of the promotion) every table was taken. If you're headed to Frugatti's, go early. The bar has every spirit you could want. And they have a great beer selection with rotating taps (stone, Dionysus, and lengthwise to name a few). We ordered: Spicy chicken things- spicy, thick but juicy, with a great ranch sauce. A great starter, but I wouldn't order it at its 11 price point. Spinach manicotti - a step up from the college dining hall days. Came in a ceramic baking dish and was piled high with cheese and sauce. It's more of a casserole than manicotti. Chicken with Pino Grigio sauce- chicken was moisten, covered in mushrooms and a savory sauce. Pasta seemed fresh and the sauce was lite. I can never tell with pasta joints in Bakersfield - is the pasta fresh or from Trader Joe's. Who knows. Spaghetti and meat balls - looked good. I didn't try it. Red Pepper Pasta - same. The check came quick and the servers box up the food for you. I've always been hesitant about having servers box up the food (after reading a horror story on Reddit) but I took a chance here. Unrelated notes: bus boy broke a glass at the table next to us, and the music is very loud in the bathroom. Probably to cover up the sounds of nature. read more

A delightful dinner with our family in this local Italian family restaurant. We've enjoyed Frugatti's great Italian creations since they opened and this evening was just as memorable. As always we devour the amazing fresh baked bread; my daughter and grandson likes to eat it with there house dressing, my granddaughter can consume baskets of this doughy goodness, while others dip bite-sized pieces in olive oil, Parmesan, & peppers and savor the rich flavors. We enjoyed the fried artichoke appetizer, clam chowder, minestrone, fettuccine, eggplant, seafood linguine, chicken calzone, and rigatoni with the house Chardonnay.
