This was my first time at Frugatti's and also my first time in Bakersfield. I was in the area and came across this restaurant on Yelp. I was at the Trader Joe's the night before and the cashier I was chatting with said this was one of her favorite restaurants and recommended it. Turns out it was the same Italian restaurant I found on Yelp and I decided to check it out before heading out. I placed an online order for the Spicy Italian Sausage Ravioli with Bolognese Sauce with extra meat sauce around the time of opening and the estimated time was almost an hour for one order. On the way there I called to check the status of my order, but they hung up on me. When I got there I found myself waiting at the pick up area and it ended up being more than an hour later before I was able to get my order. The female employee who handed me my order did not put any utensils or napkins that were requested. When I opened the box there was so much oil it was leaking out and got all over the place. The ravioli was very good, but the excess amount of oil they put in is more than enough to clot your arteries. I did like the meat sauce and they did not skimp out. Lots of good flavor and aroma, but didn't realize that there was an extra charge tacked on, but understandable. For almost $30, pricing was definitely on the higher end for 7 pieces of ravioli. Overall, great quality and taste. I only tried one item on the menu this time. The poor takeout service and heavy bouts of oil makes me think twice. Pictures of this restaurant show a beautiful interior and wine cave, but unfortunately I did not get a chance to dine in, as I was in a rush to head home and beat the afternoon traffic. read more

We waited 35 mins for our table. Got to the table, server seemed very attentive. We ordered our food shortly after sitting. We waited for a good hour for our food. Everyone at the table ordered pasta dishes with either sausage or chicken. It should've never taken this long! My son got pasta with butter and cheese, the pasta was hard in places because it was sitting under a heat lamp for too long. My side of pasta with my entree was lukewarm. Which tells me that the food wasn't run to the table quickly it sat in the kitchen window for way too long. By the time we finished we had been in this restaurant for four hours, and not by choice. I don't plan on ever going back! read more

I visited Frugatti's on a Saturday evening for dinner. We had a 7:00pm reservation. We were seated promptly which was great considering how full it was. I ordered the baked chicken breast with garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken was so well seasoned and had such a great flavor. My wife ordered the baked manicotti, which again was so cheesy and full of flavor. I ended the evening with a slice of their lemon cheese cake, very yummy. The ambiance was classic Italian! Gotta love it! The only down side was our waitress only checked on us maybe twice. I had to ask for silverware and water refills. We were in a party of 6, and unfortunately we did not feel taken care of. I understand that it's busy and they were possibly short staffed. read more

Don't say 15 min wait when you know it's like an hour. Be honest with your customers it will go better and they will appreciate the honest more. I just moved it from one star to three star because the owner took the time to reply that shows dedication and that he appreciates his customer base. Frugatti's has always been a comfort food place for me to go. From the beautiful authentic look inside to the amazing wide range of food they serve. The servers are always amazing and very kind, and are always making recommendations and suggestions. The food came out quick, the portions were great, and all the food was fantastic. Their cheesecake is one of my personal favorites, as well as any one of the pasta plates they have. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

Secret menu item! Thai chicken. Wild right?! I had to have it and it was goooOOooOoood. It packs a bit of heat so be ready for that. The hot honey prosciutto ciabatta appetizer was great. I needed some more heat so I put on some of the chili flakes that are on all the tables for pizza(super convenient!!!!) The atmosphere was celebratory. Birthday songs scattered around and nervous first daters filled the restaurant. This place is great. First time visiting since the move and I can't believe I haven't come sooner! The final picture might be a small detail but it was huge to me! The packaging matches. I mean the take home containers fit inside the bag without falling all over. Maybe it's just me but it felt super nice to carry without worry of my cheesecake smaller to go getting all smashed. Come hungry because it's alot of food. I love Frugatti's, however the girl who is answering the phone today 9/1/25 at 12:15pm she is very rude I called to make a reservation for 9 people for 7pm and she put me on hold out of no where didn't say anything just put me on hold. Then someone else comes back on the line and said they would give me a call back to set my reservation that they had to take care of a cater order first then just quickly hung up didn't even have a chance to say ok thank you. When I'm sure it shouldn't take so long for a reservation. It is now 2:40pm I received a text at 2:26pm with a confirmation for our reservation at 7pm for 9. Almost 2 hours later so I made a reservation elsewhere. I called Frugatti's to cancel and when I was saying thank you she hung up mid word. read more

It can be loud in the main dining room, but that's par for the course with good food and good times. The service has always been great, especially with delivery. The parking lot is very big and has lots of room. I'm not sure of the lights because it was day time. The inside is so warm and inviting. They sat us down in the outside looking area . It had heaters and such big windows, it felt like you were outside. The service was on point, we never felt neglected. The server was so kind and understanding with my adult autistic sons. And with my youngest autistic son's dislike of green in his food, she made sure no parsley was in his food. We had a wheel chair with us and didn't have too much trouble maneuvering around the restaurant. I do wish that the restroom had something to hold it open as we have to hold it and push the wheelchair at the same time. But it really didn't ruin anything. We had our post-wedding reception dinner in Frugatti's wine cave and it was an absolute dream. Booking with Anthony was a breeze. Richard helped us make sure our media was in working condition the day before, which was so helpful. Our waitresses, Alyssa F and Rosalba C were absolutely wonderful - they made me feel completely at ease and in charge of the evening. The doors of the room were closed so we didn't have to worry about lookey-loos, totally private. The lighting and volume in the room is adjustable! It was everything I wanted it to be, and then some. I called to make a reservations for my daughter's birthday lunch, and I specifically asked about seating. I figured since I was reserving a time that a table would be set up for us. That was not the case when we got there the place is full. I had no idea how small it is in there, there was only one table open and it was close to the door and it was a cold day. We have a new baby with us and I was concerned with us sitting in that spot. We went ahead and took that table and I am so glad we did. Cade was our waiter and he was on point, great personality and so helpful since we have never been there. I also have allergies and he went back to the kitchen and talked to the chef to make sure what I ordered was ok. Drinks were filled immediately and he continued to check on us. He honestly was the best waiter we have had in so long, Maybe the best ever! Everyone was so happy with what they ordered. Food was absolutely delicious and portions are large enough to make two meals. You definitely get your money's worth. It was everyone's first time here and we are already planning our next visit. Frugatti's new location has grown to be one of my favorite spots in town. The building itself is so beautiful inside and out giving a very special/romantic vibe to the occasion. Service is attentive, extremely knowledgeable about their menu items and give phenomenal recommendations. The fitness calzone is always my go-to, when trying to keep my calories low. It's low on calories, but high in flavor! They have a vast selection of wines to choose from, the trouble maker is my personal favorite. Well we just had to go try out the new location. I am so excited to share how spacious it is. We arrived were greeted there is a nice waiting are. They took our name and phone number. There is a patio style area as well. They really enlarged, lots of seating and a banquet room and a bar area. The food as always was tasty and a good price for what you get. The parking is tight in a busy day it can be hectic The staff wasn't over friendly but efficient The place was typical Italian dining restaurant The food takes time so order an appetizer. We received a bread basket and olive oil. I don't eat bread often and that bread was worth the indulgence.... So soft and tasty The chicken things were so delicious I had to stop myself so I could leave room for my food The food was great! My bosses brought our whole office here for lunch and I couldn't be more impressed with our visit! We were able to reserve a table big enough for all of us and they had everything set up for us when we arrived, so we didn't have any wait before we could get seated. The waitress was quick to get our drinks and appetizers ordered and out to us. When she took our orders, she did so effortlessly and made no mistakes! The chicken with Pinot Grigio mushroom sauce was perfection. Chicken was cooked perfectly, so juicy and tender! I can see why this item is so popular. The minestrone soup was so good, and I love that they add croutons. I also had two drinks that packed a good punch! The service was great! Went this past Friday to have dinner with our oldest daughter to have our "last" dinner with her before she moves. Busy Friday night as we waited an hour for a table (hostess gave us this time estimate and we were okay waiting as this is what our daughter wanted before moving out of state). We were seated on the patio and loved the area especially with a young toddler as it was a more louder and lively area. We were greeted promptly and ordered drinks and our bread arrived quickly! Waitress did many check in's with our table and refilled our drinks. I ordered the garlic chicken fettuccine and my goodness! It was VERY delicious! I'm not the hugest fan of bell peppers yet the complimented the pasta so well!!! And the slivered almonds were a delightful surprise! We ordered the tiramisu dessert to go and best tiramisu in town! I am never disappointed by a meal from Frugatti's, and I've visited dozens of times. The Gorgonzola penne is a favorite, as well as Papo's pasta. You'll also get a few meals out of a single entree--super generous portions. The pizza dough rolls are a drool worthy touch. Best tiramisu in town too! read more
