This was our first time here. Sat at the beautiful bar; met Casey the bartender, ordered drinks. We decided to share an order of meatballs (delicious) and a cheese only pizza. The cheese was great, but the crust was the absolutely softest dough I ever had! Limp, floppy, soft; we should have sent it back, but I mostly ate the cheese off it. I think they have a wood fired oven, but were not schooled for pizza dough. Overhead lighting felt like spot light on us, too bright, and we asked Casey if they could be dimmed a bit. She asked but was told no. I wish they made the bar area bigger with high tops and more life for the bar. It was kind of dull. The restaurant was busy and lively. Not the bar. Will not rush back. Rookie service rookie management Food is 3 out of 10 service is a 2. Been here three times and they're always training somebody new as a server. Meanwhile, there's five people at the front desk, which is funny. Our appetizers was forgotten about as well as our food to go! Everything came out at once. Had to wait 30 more min until the food to go came out.This is the second time at this establishment. And after the 2&1/2 hours at the restaurant, they accommodate a place of cheese cake to make things right. You can tell it's not the staff's fault, poor management . I hope this helps read more

Good service (except our entrees came while we were still eating our apps). Other than that this is basically chain restaurant Italian - portions ridiculously too big, and food was "fine" but nothing like real Italian food. This is Italian-American food, but in that chain restaurant kind of way: huge portions, kind of bland. I get that's what most of their clientele is happy with, but they should at least have a few specials that try to nail what a real Italian pasta is. read more

Food is good but it is a bit pricey and as someone coming from the Bay Area it takes a bit to make me complain about prices. Maybe I have been getting so used to the price per quantity in Bakersfield and perhaps have become a bit entitled and if so feel free to disregard this post. But generally most places do charge an add on for Fettuccine Alfredo to have chicken so just come to expect that here also but don't get the similar but different dish that had chicken already because it has many other ingredients like bell peppers if I recall and is not what us fettuccine Alfredo lovers are going for. Had lunch recently. The only problem is locating the entrance. They need to post it so people know that they have to enter through Brimhall Road. That's the main issue. Once enough people go through, they will have no problem. The food was amazing and the portions are huge. I ordered the garlic chicken pasta and it was enough for two people. The food was great. Fresh, hot, good portions, and it tasted good. The salmon was perfectly cooked. The Beef Braciole Ala Basilicata was tender and was recommended by the waiter. It did not disappoint. The martini I had was good, the wine seemed overpriced. For 3 o'clock in the afternoon, it was busy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The new space was intimate even with its large size I'd love to experience the wine cave, maybe I'll get invited to a party there some time. We went to the new location around noon and the wait time was around 20 minutes. It was totally worth the wait, I ordered a New England cup of clam chowder and shrimp fettuccine. Normally I won't take the time to review a restaurant unless it's phenomenal or incredibly terrible and it saddens me to leave this one because I really do love Frugatti's. HOWEVER, we ordered a take out pizza this evening, nothing fancy, just pepperoni and cheese and asked for it to be "well done". We got, at best, what seemed like a cafeteria pizza. The cheese wasn't cooked all the way and looked like plastic, pizza was not even close to being cooked completely, let alone well done. The outer visible crust seemed to be the only part even remotely cooked. Just a complete disappointment and makes me rethink going there again if that's the quality we can expect. Where to begin... My relationship with Frugatti's began what seems like forever plus a day ago. We've been getting salads and pasta from here like clockwork three to four times a month. We come here for business lunches and other corporate meetings. This place used to be great, used to have quality control and used to care about their food. Now? Portion vs price is astronomical. When you pay $15.00 for a chicken Caesar salad you expect a quality salad with premium ingredients. Instead, it's fallen to the level of Wendy's. Bitter romaine, cheap cheese and maybe 1/4 of a chicken breast at best. I've had better quality and portions at McDonald's. Rigatoni bolognese. Bertolli bought pasta, what used to be a solid ratio of pasta to bolognese is now mediocre at best. Essence of bolognese is more like it. I can make better at home for far less per portion. Step it up! Use Etto pasta maybe something better. Inflation adjustment at its finest here folks. Hard pass. You guys need to take a deep, hard look at your kitchen, produce and staff. I'll be suggesting this place to Hell's Kitchen, maybe that'll take the quality back to where it was four years ago. read more

As always, the food was great. Frugattis has been a favorite of my families for decades. Unfortunately, the check in hostess was rude last night (12/6). She told me to catch my breath when I asked about our table 10 minutes after they said it would be ready. Kind of put me in a bad mood for a bit. Server was fine, but they had no water glasses. My daughter was thirsty so I went to the bar for water. Rolls took forever to arrive. Normally not a big deal but we were very hungry after the long wait. My wife ordered her favorite spaghetti bolognese. After several minutes the server came by and asked if penne pasta would suffice. My wife shot that down. The new building is nice and big, but feel like the place lost its soul a bit. It's like an Italian PF Changs now. The old location, while smaller and a hassle to get into had more charm. We are new in Kern County - we have been looking for restaurants to add to our rotation. Frigattis in Bakersfield did not disappoint for our sons 12th birthday. Their home made toast was nicely buttered - not enough in my opinion... that's what carboholics say Main dishes: Eggplant Parmesan with a minestrone soup. Comes with a side of Alfredo pasta. Eggplant was slightly soft for me, taste was excellent. Spicy Italian sausage ravioli with Bolognese sauce- riquizzzzisiiimo!!! Pasta to suace ratio was on point. Cheese tortellini with chicken in Alfredo sauce. The outside of the tortellini was soft and buttery and we didn't get a big dough ball with little stuffing. The bites were melt in your mouth delicious . The Alfredo sauce had a nice Smokey buttery flavor. It's addicting. Dessert - the only reason I am taking away a star. The Nutella cheese cake slice my son got as a complimentary dessert- was dry and the nuts didn't taste fresh. Perhaps toasted and the. Put on top of dessert??? We've come here for a few birthdays, and the staff is always friendly and upbeat, and the food tastes great.

Frugattis is a dinner favorite between my friends and I! I love how extensive their menu is and how delicious and perfectly seasoned all of their food is. They have a wide variety of Italian dishes and have the best fitness menu in comparison to other dinner places in town. I always make sure to get the salad with their house garlic dressing it's absolutely delicious and i CRAVE that dressing on salads constantly. I love how simple their fettuccine Alfredo is and every chicken dish I've gotten here has never been dry. My chicken picatta is always perfectly cooked and super juicy. The portions here, like traditional Italians, are very large! I can never finish one whole plate but the leftovers are always amazing! I paired my dinner with the blush white Zinfandel glass of wine and it was so delicious. We finished our meal by splitting a tiramisu and it was so yummy and a nice portion size. Though the prices can seem steep i think it's worth it knowing that when i dine here i always get 2 meals out of their plates. I recommend this place to anyone in town looking for a delicious Italian meal. Also my waitress Naomi was absolutely awesome! Went to Frugatti's with family tonight. The hostesses were really helpful in accommodating us all. The waitress was very professional and attentive once we were seated. I had an iced tea and it was a little bit fruity, which was nice. The bread while we waited was also very tasty with the butter. I had a side salad to start and it was huge. So massive for a starter salad. The creamy garlic dressing was light and lovely, with a hint of citrus. Wish I'd had a few extra cups of it. My entree was a half fettuccine and half ravioli dish. The Alfredo sauce was nothing like Olive Garden. It was lighter and had a tiny hint of lemon. It didn't weigh me down after eating it, like other Alfredos sometimes do--even when I make it at home. The ravioli had a soft texture and the cheese inside was very creamy. The sauce had a sausage flavor, due to the crumbled sausage sprinkled throughout. We brought a carrot cake home and once we were ready for dessert, we all took a small bite. It was very good, not too sweet. The cake itself was very moist. Overall, an excellent dining experience. As someone who has lived in Bakersfield my entire life I've never had Frugatti's. I spent around $100 yesterday in door dash for Lobster Ravioli which came with 5 raviolis and asparagus, it was okay but for $30 I would have expected a little more food also I ended up getting super sick :( We also ordered the meatball lasagna which was an okay serving. Lastly we ordered New York Style cheesecake and a Lemon Ricotta cheesecake both which were good. I would give more stars but I think I may have got food poisoning so that makes me a little sad because of how much I paid to have a nice dinner :( read more
