I love Fry The Coop. I have yet to try something I didn't love. My family usually opts for the tenders meal. It's 3 very good sized pieces along w 2 sides. I always choose the slaw and the fries. The fries are amazing as is the chicken. I get medium, sometimes venturing into hot. My husband gets mild while my 6 yr old gets country. They are currently open for take out. Made a quick stop at Fry the Coop for Messy fries, they have become a favorite. I specifically requested fresh fries due to receiving cold food on a previous visit. My order consisted of extra pickles and extra sauce with the coleslaw on the side, NONE of my request were honored. Cold fries which seemed like half of the average order, less than the normal amount of pickles and the same amount of sauce for an average order for $12.11 is Ridiculous! Before coming to this establishment please read this. They have a terrible wait time of 45-50 minutes. My app told me the order was ready for pick up and and still had to wait an additional 15minutes. If the chicken was 10/10, it may have been worth it but it's not, dry basic chicken. Save your money and your time. We also didn't get the right order. They forgot the cheese on our cheese fries and received a spicer heat than HOT (I'm assuming the 911). The honey butter medium spice is my go-to. I also like that the bread fits and does not overwhelm the sandwich. Fries are super fresh and tasty as well. Two of us usually share an order. Food is freshly prepared so it takes a minute to cook, but I assure you it is worth the wait. There are local craft beers available for purchase. The restaurant is casual. I just noticed a new $1 online ordering fee. After having been a three times a week customer for the last year today I informed the manager that I could no longer do order with their establishment. Paying $20 for a chicken sandwich meal is bad enough but for them to tack on a fee for ordering online is outrageous. So now they lose $60 per week in food sales and $8 in tips. read more

I'm just going to go ahead and say it. This is by far the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life to date. You could probably argue that but I've had a fair share of chicken in my life and this is it. This is bae of chicken. The menu is small and simple. You pretty much either have the choice of chicken and waffles or a variety of different types of sandwiches or chicken plates along with some sides. I recommend the house fries with a chicken sandwich. Great seasoning and great combo. A natural potato fry. Love. You have choices for level of spicy. I love spicy. But I had a feeling the hot would be too hot(spiciest choice) so I stuck with the medium. Let me tell you the medium was HOT. In a good way. It slowly crept up on you throughout eating. Came here after I had heard from many people how good it was. I was scared to get much spice on my sandwich because I had heard how hot it was so I went with the mild Nashville hot fries chicken sandwich. This thing was amazing. The breading was just right and not too thick. It had the perfect crunch to it. The coleslaw on top complimented the spices in the breading. I had a side order of the seasoned fries which were also spectacular. They put the medium spice seasoning on it, so this was hotter than the chicken sandwich I got, but still bearable. This place is amazing. Pictures don't do the flavors justice. Its not just a greasy chicken sandwich although it may look like one. This whole place is pretty bare bones (it is new) and there's literally only 4 things on the menu, but it does not disappoint. You can look at my other reviews, I am no stranger to spicy stuff. Usually when any non-mexican restaurant tells me things are spicy, I laugh and order the extra spicy. Don't make that mistake here. I only ordered the hot (not the crazy call 911 maximum level) and it was intense. Louisiana hot fried chicken sandwich was super great. The grilled one was pretty great too. Fries were good but not warm enough for some reason. We were afraid to order chicken and waffles as many places around here use cheap waffles. Then we saw the cast iron waffle makers and regretted not ordering them. We'll for sure be back. Update: went back for chicken and waffles, it was better than downtown's Chicken Shop! The chicken sandwiches are exceptional. The strips are good but they are inconsistent with regard to the size of strips. I wish they'd have better quality control- I come here often and sometimes all three are nice and plump and big, but other times I get the runts of the litter and it's disappointing when you pay so much. My biggest complaint is the French fries. I'll attach a picture but they're usually really tiny, short fries and they get greasy and over cooked easily. They need longer potatoes or they need to throw away the tiny pieces instead of serving them to supplement a full order. Again it's quality control for the food. I like it a lot but they need more experienced management to be present. It seems like there's only ever kids working- I have yet to see a person over 25 working with the crew of what look like high school kids. read more

First of all.... their heat is not playing y'all. Do yourself a favor and start with a mild or medium for your first order. I've seen confident coworkers cry over the "hot" spice level. To be honest I over shot the heat level on my first order and couldn't eat more than one tender. But for my next trip I learned to swallow my pride and order a lower heat level and that was a much more enjoyable experience. These crave worthy tenders are so crispy, juicy, & flavorful. The fries and coleslaw are ok, nothing especially memorable. The price is a little high for fast food- 3 tenders, fries, & coleslaw for 10 bucks, but it's 2021 and everywhere is high. This chicken is the real deal, and worth every bit of hype you've been hearing from your friends about this place. All in all it's an AMAZING piece of chicken (breast?) on a sandwich or tenders, or however the heck you get it. I'm still kind of new to Nashville Hot so I was maybe surprised to see it's a rub on these sandwiches that tastes and almost acts as a batter but it stays on to the very end. Also as a result, you get that spicy flavor in every bite. The coleslaw gives the sandwich a fresh crisp to it and mildly cools the effects of a Hot sandwich. Pickles are good too. Fries are good too, skin on and fried just right. If you order the seasoned fries (I usually do) you can tell it's a similar spicy blend that they use for the chicken, and it works really well!! Add a little Crystal hot sauce they provide in packets there to your fries/sandwich, you'll be sweatin' for sure. Now to try their Honey Butter Chicken sandwich.... HEAT FIENDS start at Level 4. You'll think, "okay, this is really good and spicy" but about halfway through the sandwich the waterworks will start to run. If you really need it hotter than that, you'll be back for another one anyways. read more

My son loves heat and boy did he get what we paid for when he ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. The heat was sneaky, where it wasn't too much on the surface but once he let it sit and resonate, the boy started sweating like he had been working out. Most of us didn't take these HEAT chances, so I can attest to the chicken being great and the flavor being above average without any over-drenched, tangy sauce. Got there at opening (11a) and we ordered chicken/waffles and the chicken cheese sandwich/combo (fries and drink) The chicken was definitely moist and not dry but the crust was also definitely fried... hard. The fries could've of been better. I didn't enjoy that slightly burnt/w season taste. Or unless the oil wasn't changed. Overall, it was okay. Not the best nor worst that I've had. This was an unplanned stop but I'm so glad we did. First, the place is a quick service:counter order kinda place which makes the vibe low key. We liked all the cool little design touches that made it feel modern inside, including the fun spray paint stenciled chicken wall. Second, the foooooood. The food was outstanding. Well seasoned fries and the sandwich--the sandwich is the stuff dreams are made of. Crispy breast exterior with a juicy inside (and a very hearty portion), a soft bun, nice little kick of heat, and the most delicious pickles. Found this place searching for a great lunch place whenI was on the south side of Chicago recently. Reviews were plentiful and raved about the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. Stopped in and all the reviews are NOT wrong!!! Awesome sandwich, I chose the Medium heat for my first time. (Apparently, the Hot heat has both habanero & ghost peppers in it !) The sandwich was delicious. Tender, hot and a perfect amount of kick with the "heat" of the sauce. The sandwich was dressed well with lettuce and jalapeños under the bun. Seasoned fries were a great compliment to the chicken sandwich as well. Crispy and perfectly seasoned, it was the icing on the cake for the meal. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable & roomy. Well lit with TV's running. The location is on the north side of 95th St in a small strip mall. It's directly across the from Potbelly/Starbucks strip mall by the railroad tracks...somewhat easy to miss if it's your first time going there. I'd highly recommend this place. Also, I called on the 4th of July and as usual I got a message they were really busy so they couldn't get to the phone. Same with the online ordering. They were very efficient! I had a medium Nashville Chicken Sandwich. I am not a fan of coleslaw but I decided to try everything on the sandwich. It was very good and I like how it had a hint of sweetness on the sandwich. The chicken breast was slightly oversized for the bun but not too much. I didn't really taste much of the "medium" spice on my chicken so if you want a kick, maybe get the hot. It's also not sauce, you get the spice from a dry rub-like seasoning on the sandwich. I wasnt a huge fan of the seasoned fries. The season was kinda heavy and was dry rub as well. They do have beer for my people who want to drink a bit! Overall, I'd definitely recommend!
