You order your burger and then you add all the toppings and condiments that you want. The burgers are huge. All of the veggies are very fresh and they have a huge selection of condiments to choose from. We ordered a cookies and cream milkshake and it came out with an extra cup to refill the glass, big chunks of Oreos. read more

Dissaster place. Terribly cooked fish and chips. They burned the fish to a crisp. The place was dirty with flys. Trash cans were overfilled with trash falling off of them. No soap or paper in the bathroom. Very warm inside. The a/c wasn't cooling enough. About 80 degrees. Restaurant employees were nowhere to be found or seen. Being in Albuquerque, I had to go with the Fudd 66 green chile and cheese (I substituted Monterrey jack for the American.) Granted, the burger was good, although I didn't like how soggy the bun got and in the end I didn't finish it for that reason. What I took offense to was the rack of industrial-size jars of Kraft mayonnaise and fat free salad dressing and cans of peppers and whatnot that were displayed in the center of the restaurant. If you're going to prepare my food with processed crap, at least have the decency to hide that fact. And I never did figure out why some customers had table service and some of us (me) had to pick up our own food at the counter. Oh, and did I mention that they serve Pepsi? The burgers are as good as always, however, when I got my burger and went to the salad bar to put my veggies on my plate...the veggies did not look fresh at all. I can't say that I'm a fan of meat too much but my goodness, the meat here is the bomb dot com! I always get their hot dog and skinny fries. I like that they have the option to serve yourself as much ranch, nacho cheese, ketchup, etc as you want, as well as soda, forks, napkins. So maybe the review will be different next time. Sunday evenings my mom cousins boyfriend and I play softball with church league. We've made it a sort of tradition of having dinner after the games. On one other occasion we chose Fuddruckers but it was the one at Cornado mall. Normally we've had a good and pleasant expeirence but that was not the case today. It was a little bit busy but not anything crazy. We got to the register and ordered our food. A simple order that had three burgers a hot dog some fries for the four of us, three shakes, regular drinks and a beer. The only modifications we made were to have all wheat buns, two burgers with cheese and sweet potatoes fries. Nothing to difficult. The first thing that started the whole negative downward spiral was the cashier didn't read back our order and we probably should have asked. It was only later we found out that it was her first day on register. We got our shakes just fine and they tasted delicious! It was a bit loud so we missed when they called our order so my cousin went up to see if it was ready, it was. So I get up to go help him and notice first off all the buns were white we were missing fries and all these burgers had cheese. So I said the gentleman behind the counter I'm sorry but all the buns are supposed to be wheat and one should have no cheese also we are missing fries. Well that's when it started. He seemed extremely bugged with me telling him this and proceeded to get wheat buns, untoasted and the buns are always toasted,and throw the burgers and buns on the plate. Then he asks my cousin if he wants to just scrape off the cheese or have a new burger made. My cousin asked how long it would take to make a burger and was told five minutes so he opted to take it off. Mind you the man was rude when he asked him about the cheese. So by this time my dad came up to help with the food and as me and him were getting our toppins my cousin had gotten his and went to the table. At this point I think my mom was upset at that the fact that they hadn't offered to remake my cousins burger. Honestly it's a safety issue because you just don't know if people have a food allergy. At this point she took the burger back up to say they needed to remake it. Well the guy behind the counter got bugged with her and then the one of the managers, Kenny, got involved with what was going on and I'm not sure what he said but as my mom walked away he proceeded to say "yeah I know what they ordered we weren't wrong" kinda thing. So my mom turned back around to say something to him because he had also been giving her dirty looks. After we were sitting there eating another manager came out to ask what had happened and if we needed anything and if we were ok. Both my mom and I told her what happened and both told her its human to make mistakes we all do it but to be treated with attitude and given dirty looks is uncalled for. I uses to work at that Fuddruckers and the other two in Albuquerque so I know that your first day on the registers you always have a manager or someone with you. The food was as always good but it was completely unacceptable to treat your customers the way the two guys treated us. The good thing was the second manager, I think her name was Joanne but not sure, took care of us and gave us two punch cards for two free burgers. Not only that but she took the girl off the register and had a talk with the two guys who treated us badly. I'm not sure if we will be going that Fuddruckers anytime soon. read more

My husband and I generally like Fuddruckers - we have been to this particular one several times and had a decent experience, although that was at least 6-8 months ago. Tonight experience was different. They did not have enough people working the registers, so the line backed up and the employees were obviously stressed. The man ringing us up was in a hurry to get us out of the way. We had to repeat our order to him several times and it still came out wrong. The water tasted nasty and the bucket of lemons sat empty the entire time we were there. Hopefully with a few more employees on staff, this restaurant will return to being a decent place to eat. Overall, I enjoy Fuddruckers, as they are usually pretty good. One thing I've experienced with the location on Yale, though, is sometimes they can be a little slow getting orders out even when they're not packed. I think one time we waited for about 40 minutes (for burgers, in a burger restaurant), tonight we only waited about 25 minutes which is better but they weren't completely packed, either. I was annoyed on our visit, tonight, though, after I showed a coupon I was e-mailed for a 1/3 pound burger meal deal for $7.00, was rang up for the coupon price, then my husband ordered his burger and was asked what toppings he wanted and then we were given the total. I asked if I could add toppings to mine, too (since I wasn't asked by the cashier), and I was told I couldn't do that because of the coupon. Huh? I know unlimited toppings would be a $2.00 add on and I was totally willing to pay it, hell, the coupon even says at the bottom "specialty toppings extra" implying that I could pay extra for said toppings, yet I was denied this option. The cashier then offered to put toppings on the side instead of ON the burger but stated she couldn't actually add them to the burger. Well, one of the toppings I wanted was cheese (specifically the three cheese melt), and no, I don't want a cold slice of cheese on the side, I want it melted on the burger. I was about to ask her just to cancel the coupon and ring me up for a regular priced meal so I could add the toppings I wanted, but there was a line forming behind us and I didn't want to be a nuisance and hold up the line by having the order redone, so I just accepted my totally plain burger. At least at Fuddrucker's you can add all of the garnishes and sauces you want, which is good. I even ended up putting some of the complimentary nacho cheese on my burger as a substitute for the cheese I was told I couldn't add to my meal, and while it's not what I would have preferred, it actually wasn't bad. Also, my husband, who was allowed the luxury of adding unlimited toppings to his burger, asked for an extra side of green chile when he went to pick up his order and then gave it to me to help doctor mine up some more. So, they could have made extra money from someone who was more than willing to pay it, but instead I saved $2.00 and still wound up with a pretty tasty green chile CHEESE burger. The food was good overall, I just don't understand why they wouldn't allow me to pay more for something I wanted. Oh well. The next time I get a coupon, I might just ignore it so I can get my burger how I like it. Not that I get them often, anyway. The last one they sent me was last September for my birthday (yes, 10 months ago) which was for a free burger, and as I recall they let me add toppings and fries and a drink for an extra charge, though I don't recall which location we went to. Our preferred location is the one on Jefferson due to proximity, but we live on the Westside. Three Fuddruckers locations in Albuquerque and not one on this side of the river! Fuddruckers gets it right regardless of location! The service is always phenomenal and the food is cooked to perfection. I love that everything is custom and BYO since I am super picky. This is one of the few places that won't charge me for asking for a side of sauce. A quick tip though.... Always get wedge fries don't try their new skinny fries. Long story short, perfect across the board. Service was incredible, everyone was happy and cordial which gave a great vibe to the place. It just so happened to be my birthday so they even threw me a discount and some free food. Well how convenient to find a Fuddruckers right across the street from our hotel and ready for us to call in a to-go order and come pick it up. What was incredible was one sandwich and one salad made two huge to-go boxes and then they gave me a third box to go to the little bar of condiments and tomatoes and onions and pickles to fill for the sandwich why it was almost like a meal for three and only one sandwich wow. I have nothing but good things to say really. But, I've still got my pros / cons to consider. Pros: Great food, short wait, clean and awesome staff. Cons: Asked for well done patties, they came more medium, heavy pink. It's not a place you can go to for the first time and grasp how things work. So, you might feel a little abandoned if you have never been to this place or similar self service businesses. Biggest reason to bump this straight up to a 5 star was the staff! I had accidentally left my wedding band on our table and I knew it. It was almost 24 hours gone. 2 out of 3 of the staff was still there and remembered my wife and I left my info and description. 5 hours later got a call, saying the "dish washer" found it. I remembered this gentleman, he was getting our tabled cleared as we were leaving and went out of his way to help my wife with something unrelated.
