3 stars is generous. Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm they were at about 50% capacity. Told it would be a 45 minute wait. We figured they might be short staffed and the kids with us could see the alligators...so not too upset. An hour later we were finally seated at 3. It was 4pm by the time we got our food. During this time a waitress came out twice asking if her tray of drinks were ours. No we told her. She came back again asking if we were sure! Yes we know what we ordered! The same exact thing happened with a large order of food a bit later. Again we were asked if we were sure it wasn't ours! Again; we know what we ordered. I'm not sure if they don't have table numbers or just that confused all the time. We were already frustrated waiting on our actual order though. The food came and most of the dishes were deemed ok, albeit a little spendy. The two people that ordered the mushroom Swiss burgers though both said they were the worst. Both came with this weird sweet sauce along with lettuce, onion, tomato, and 9 pickle slices. All of this junk on a mushroom Swiss burger that had 3 mushroom slices on them. Ridiculously horrible taste and combination of condiments for a mushroom burger. In closing...we arrived to a half empty restaurant at 2 pm and finished eating at 5 pm, while paying entirely more than it was worth. I'd say if your from out of town with children and want the entertainment value of the gators, then try it if you have a few hours or more to spare. Another tourist trap, and of course we had to go! There's so much going on here and this is a great place if you have kids. They have the gator beach, where you can walk around and feed gators. They have a kid spot near the bar with games and hula hoops. Then next door there is an arcade and gift shop. I loved our waitress, she was so funny and friendly. Came with a party of 10 at 4 pm.....was told an hour and 30 min and waited a little shy of that. Took the kids to the arcade and waited for a text. There's a playground and gators to look at while waiting and the arcade is right next door. They are always busy...you're going to have to wait. The food isn't anything special but it's the experience, in my opinion. The coleslaw however was my absolute favorite! It has pineapple in it and was creamy and delicious. They were out of gator bites so that was disappointing. My sons cheeseburger was burnt to a crisp but my fish sandwich was tasty. My kids liked the ambiance: it was noisy and they felt like they could have fun. Our food came out quick and was hot. We're here on vacation and wanted to try this place out. Was told there would be roughly a 2 hour wait (to be expected due to the last week of summer) but they have their alligator attractions, a tiki bar and live music outside while you wait. We went to the bar outside and there were two people working. The guy was very nice and got our drinks quickly after he noticed the chick that was also working kept skipping over us after standing DIRECTLY in front of her for at least 10 mins. Her attitude was absolutely terrible. Thankfully we got a text about our table being ready (the wait was nowhere near the time frame they gave us-we waited maybe 30 mins). Despite hesitancy based on past reviews, the food was great, service was wonderful and quick! We had burgers (cooked well and served hot), hot fries and a huge salad portion for our son who ordered a salad. I ordered the Shrimp and Alligator Pasta. My Shrimp were so loud and extremely spoiled today! I started smelling something foul but wasn't sure where the smell was coming from! Why did they not have a sign letting everyone know they were out of gator when that is what they are known for! Not only were they out of gator, but it was so hot....who would want to order hot food. There is plenty to see with their wide assortment of live alligators. You can actually feed the gators from these fishing like poles with string that you lower down and the gators take the food. What can I say about fudpuckers other than WOW! This was probably the best restaurant I have ever been to! The staff was phenomenal and there was a rather long wait but, during spring break thats to be expected for anywhere in Destin. But, they have sooo much going on that you don't realize you're waiting to eat! There's an outside bar, a kids play area, live alligator shows, a fun little scavenger hunt and the arcade next door is connected to the restaurant so if you do start to get bored (but I promise you won't) you can head in there and play some games while you wait. Trapping tourists and selling ubiquitous t-shirts for 35+ years! Crazy, big restaurant geared to feeding the masses and over stimulating children. My kids (ages 7-10) loved the gators. There are dozens on site and the exhibit is well done, so well that my older kids evening enjoyed reading the info signs. While you wait for your table (and you will wait in high season, we waited an hour at 7:45pm on a Saturday), there is an excellent arcade on site. The gator exhibit is located right next to the bar but you can't bring your drinks into the arcade. The bartender comp'd three Shirley Temples for my kids which otherwise go for $3 on the kids' drink menu. Beer wasn't grossly overpriced at $4.50. Once we were seated for dinner, the experience is a little more mixed. Service was fine but I was perplexed by the large number of empty tables coupled with the long wait. The burgers were frozen hockey puck patties, which I wasn't expecting for a restaurant who prides itself on the Original Fud being one of the four original menu items. On the other hand, the kids' Mac and cheese dishes were well done (especially the one with bacon) and portion sizes were huge. We came here while on vacation for our toddler to come play and hopefully have some fun . The outside of the place looks kind of dirty and like it needs some updating. When you walk in , right off the bat I noticed the place was really small and felt overcrowded . We got a game card and got it loaded and began playing games . The games were ridiculously expensive ( around 1 $ a game ) . We go to Dave and Busters a lot and the value just didn't seem as great here . And on top of that some of the claw games seemed rigged, they would allow you to grab the items but the claw would open midway after picking them up ? We only stayed maybe 30 mins ? Here you're really paying for the environment. As a tourist coming from Texas, we don't get this close to any gators. This was a fun night for my kids, 12 and 8. They enjoyed feeding the gators, taking pictures and the scavenger hunt during our 1 hour and 35 minute wait. I was thankful for the activities. We started with the Crunch and Munch. It was quickly devoured by our family of 4. My 8 year old ordered the Mac and cheese and got excited when it came with a gator. My 12 year old ordered the bacon cheeseburger and brought half home for lunch the next day. My husband and I ordered Puckers-fried shrimp aka blackened Mahi Mahi.
