This place is a meat market for underaged girls that hang out with guys twice they're age mixing in while drinking. Not sure how this all works or why I timed it on "Underage Girls Night". We had an hour and a half wait and it went by fast with all the activities the kids can do like feeding the gators, taking a pic with one, and admiring Pearl the albino gator. This place is neat! Great atmosphere! I will say it is very very pricey! Burgers ranged from $13.99-$16.99. Entrees we're over $20- even for chicken strips. I know most places are pricey, but it was a little too pricey. Food did taste good. We all enjoyed our meal. It says beachfront dining, but it doesn't sit on the beach. It is across the highway from the beach and you can't see the ocean. Kids really enjoyed the alligators. They had quite a few and they were more active than what you typically see when you see alligators...so that was pretty cool. Kids fed the alligators and it was a reasonable price. This was very interesting eating at this restaurant . We enjoyed our time. My wife had oysters that she said was tasty (shell fish allergy for me) . My boys enjoyed their burgers and could not wait to go outside and feed the alligators. They also enjoyed writing their John Hancock on the wall. The place is like a maze. Okay ... so we fell victim to this tourist trap since we were vacationing with two kiddos! When we first drove into town I swore we wouldn't stop here since it looked crowded and very touristy but after researching where the "alligator place" was that I had previously read about I realized it was at this location. So, needless to say we headed over for an afternoon lunch and some gator viewing. We ate lunch first. The restaurant area is huge and we had to walk through several sections to get to our table. Our drinks came out in souvenir plastic glasses. Only snafu was that the two beers we ordered were lukewarm. When we asked for a cold mug she returned with two regular glasses and said that is what the bartender gave her. She went back and finally returned with two semi-cold glasses. She said the beer gets restocked often each day causing it to sometimes not have had time to chill. ICK to warm beer on a summer day! BLEH! We ordered some fried potato bites and cheese sticks for an appetizer and both came out with plenty of each and they were really pretty tasty. Three of us ordered salads and the kids ordered from the kids menu. Their meals came out with a little plastic turtle figurine on their food (see photo) which they thought was neat. The salads were delicious and HUGE! We seriously all could have shared one salad. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and onion rings and said he enjoyed his meal as well. The alligator area, according to our waitress, consists of 82 alligators and one named Pearl who is an albino gator. We went to that area after eating and had our picture taken holding a gator and looked at all the others. The gators are small so don't expect to see any huge ones but they were perfect for the kiddos. You can even pay a few bucks and feed them from a line if you want. Then, we headed over to the gift shop and let the kids pick out one thing each. It is a standard shop with stuffed animals, wall hangings, magnets, shirts etc. VERY touristy but fun nonetheless. May consider going next time we vacation if the kids request to return since the food was pretty good compared to most other places we tried that week. ENJOY! read more

My family and I of a party of 11 we're visiting here from Atlanta on August 5th 2020. I must say the food at this place is amazing especially the alligator tail bites. They did everything to accommodate our large party even though we were split up, we were right across from each other. My other table had the nachos and Gator tail bites as well for appetizers. Our server was Donna and she was so kind and patient and very intentive to all of our needs. Food came out extremely fresh and hot and on time despite our two hour wait. My only disappointment was the alligator show was canceled but I totally get it due to covid-19 so the kids were a little disappointed although they got to feed the alligators. No draft beer and some menu items just didn't make sense - like you can order a baked potato but not mashed potatoes off the children's menu- as if? Anyway, they were nice enough to send over some butter and let me mash them up myself but that was a Royal mess and something they could easily have done for me in the kitchen. Wayyyyy to expensive for so much breading! Went here for lunch today. Chose it because it was within walking distance from my hotel next door. Well I will have to say that the alligator show was quite entertaining once it got started. My son lost interest after about 15 minutes of sending in the heat listening to alligator facts tho. The interactive part was pretty good once it FINALLY got started. Another good thing was that the show was about 30 minutes long and I had about a 40 minute wait for seating...Perfect! Now the food was another story. I couldn't decide what to get since I was foolishly thinking that lunchtime had lunch prices. Not at this place. So since I couldn't find anything like a fish and shrimp lunch basket, the waiter suggested I order the Fish for $21 and then add 6 shrimp for around $8. Way too much food for me at lunchtime but I did want to taste the fish and the shrimp and it seemed there was no way around the high lunch prices. I did find a cheaper option on my own AFTER I had already ordered the $30 meal. Tip: If you go here and want to try the local (Amberjack) fish and the shrimp, I think you can just order a fish sandwich for around $15 and then add the shrimp tp that. Would have been nice if the waiter would have suggested that. Most restaurants we go to for the first time the waiters usually try to help out and suggest options that we may not see. Like in the restaurant we attended for dinner last night (reviewed). So let me just say that Im not a cheapskate. I don't mind paying for quality. But I don't feel that I got that here. The portions were large (too large for lunch) but I couldn't really taste the fish that I had heard so many wonderful things about. Now Im not sure if its supposed to be a thin fish or not, but I will tell you the breading was wayyyyyy too much. Same for my sons chicken fingers. We both sat there trying to pick some of it off so that we could try to enjoy the meat. But to no avail because the fish and the chicken fingers were fried so hard that peeling the breading off only resulted in pulling the meat with it. So at the end of the meal our plates looked like piles of breading, my sons just basically looked like it was untouched. I'll post before and after pics. I filled out their in house survey which asked if a manager came by to say "hi". I checked the "NO" box. And then just as we were getting ready to leave he came by to say hey how as everything, really quickly too. I had already paid at this point so I just said "We're already done, goodbye". Tip for you is I would maybe order the non breaded versions of the fish might fare better. You might actually get more fish for your money versus breading for the same money. If you're a decent understanding person who understands that waiting a table for a touristy attraction like Gator Beach, then you will have an amazing experience like we did. We got told we were on a wait list for an 1.5 hours, and we managed to enjoy ourselves just fine walking around and making memories with the gator feeding and gift shop! This place has a unique charm, super family friendly and has a great alcohol selection! Our server, Alexis, was the kindest and most patient server as we took our time enjoying our dinner she made us feel comfortable and not rushed! We got the chance to check this place out while on vacation. We knew they stayed busy so we went for a late lunch around 330 and they still had an hour and 45 minute wait. Luckily there was plenty to keep the kids and adults occupied. My son loved feeding the alligators and we even got a family picture with a cute gator named Jojo. My husband had bacon wrapped shrimp and I tried one and it was really good. I have the crunch and munch combo and everything was great! I love the fact that they offer a military discount and we were able to use that for our bill. We will definitely be back next time we are in Destin. read more

I'm so glad to have gone anyhow after reading the reviews. We had a 2 hour wait but we understood that is how this attraction works. We went in peak season so you have to be realistic. All three kids had a blast watching the alligator show, feeding, taking the picture and enjoying the arcade while we waited. Made the time go by fast and pleasant with small kids. Went in on a Sunday night waited 2-3 hours food was pretty good our waiter Aaron was awesome! Had a great time with our family! Gift shop was GREAT! my daughter lost a toy while she was in there so we had gotten to the car and realized it I went back in to look for it the hosts said someone brought it to them but apparently 2 hosts were playing with it and it somehow went missing. First of all, let me say that this is a fantastic place to bring the family; kids will love it. The alligator pit outfront is a must see for everyone; It's pretty fascinating. Every square inch of the walls, ceiling, tables, chairs, fans, lights, doors, etc. are covered with signatures and messages from past guests. Great bars with a fun vibe are indoors and out. So, in review, the place is really fun but, after all, this is a restaurant and our main reason for being there was for the food. I have be honest...my hamburger was possibly the worst of my entire life. Not exaggerating. It sucked! Huge chunks of onions inside and it was so spicy my mouth was on fire. And the consistency of the meet was really weird due to the over-spicing. However, in their defense, the menu clearly states that the hamburger contains onions and several spices. Fun for the kids! The wait is unbelievably long. We arrived at 4 and waited for well over 2 hours. We did everything: gators, dancing in stage, gift shop, arcade next door, but the last 30-45 minutes were unbearable for the kids. The kids did enjoy their pizza, but the adult entrees were just ok. I mean, I wasn't expecting spectacular food but the prices are high for what you get. We also ordered the hot crab dip appetizer and we did enjoy that. I read all the reviews and still my 17 year old wanted to go and my 10 year old wanted to see the gators. The service was great! The food is just so expensive for what it is. I got the stuffed shrimp for $34 and it just wasn't that great. My husband enjoyed his chicken and alligator plate but it also wasn't great for over $30. The baked potatoes were super yummy! I gave them a three because we were the first 40 in line when they opened and it still took them almost an hour to seat 12 and they couldn't seat us together which I found lame considering how huge that place is. My father in law took us here for nostalgia reasons because I guess back in the early 90s this place was awesome but today it's a run down alligator exhibit that needs to be updated. I was appalled at they way the alligators were "farmed" and fed from "fishing poles" (a stick and string) and basically laying on each other. My sons exact words "this place is disgusting I can't believe you eating here". There was writing all over the walls gum on the walls who know what else and you could just tell it's seen a lot of people over the years and isn't being kept up. As for the food, I'll give it a 7 out of 10. It was expensive but it's Destin so I get that but they said their Mac n cheese was the favorite but it's just old shells and cheese that weee reheated. The fried seafood was very good the burger was okay and the fries are okay. For the amount of talk and advertising this restaurant gets I was just disappointed.
