Fuji's is great. Second best Sushi in salem. Love the Botan Ebi (Sweet prawn) Nigiri. When they ask if you want the head say yes. Its just so fun to suck the brains out of those delicious golden fried little buggers. The sushi bar is small but both guys working it that I've seen have good personality and make it fun. The terayaki is decent and you can get a reasonably priced bento box with all the fixins, california roll, vegetable tempura, salad, rice, chicken and miso soup. The soft shell crab tempura is good and the spider roll is always awesome. For salem sushi it deserves a five, but compared to other sushi restaurants In major metro areas I have been to it gets a three. We'll meet in the middle and call it a four. read more

The first thing I noticed.on the menu was "krab" listed as an ingredient on several of the rolls. I asked the waitress if krab spelled with a "k" meant that it was imitation crab meat. She replied that it was. Fake crab is not my idea of good sushi. read more

It's time, teriyaki chicken time. Rice time isn't bad, it's not good. Its just sorta there. We go there alot for lunch during work to mix it up. I wouldn't go out of my way for the experience though. The decor I don't believe has ever been updated. You can probably take anything off the wall there and it would leave a perfect silhouette in its wake. Not a huge fan of the Japanese style bench seating with the ass pads that do little more than put a piece of fabric between you and the wood. To me there are two things on the menu, sushi or teriyaki chicken. Your choice. Nothing else is really worth it. The tempura udon is really nothing special. If your big into tempura in general i'd just skip it here. Not much to taste. The chicken teriyaki is alright but really to me its the only thing even worth eating there. What I can say is the service is quick. And its nice that you pay and order on your way in and your food comes fast because you can jet as soon as your done. If you like sushi that might be your best bet. They do have a full service sushi bar (whatever that means?). I'm more of a sushi as an app not a meal type so I haven't had much of it there. If your bored of the same places for lunch and you haven't gone to rice time yet give it a swing. Worst case scenario you'll be out 7 bucks. read more

Today was a day for miso soup and chicken yakisoba. The miso soup was good. The flavor was saltier than usual. Very good. Chicken yakisoba was good. Not overly sauced. Vegetables were steamed not mushy, and with a little crispness to them. Perfect. The chicken was topped with a good flavored teriyaki but not so much that it was runny all over the noodles. No complaints. This is going to have to be my favorite Japanese spot in Salem so far. read more

Love this place for sushi, been here several times it's good every time. The customer service is great and always answers my questions. They change up specials and they always seems to be tastier each time I try something new. Miso soup is delicious hot and makes you feel good. We took a family member and her kids they loved it we bought so many different rolls to try and everyone was great. The chicken teriyaki is great too if you are not into sushi but find yourself there, I personally would do the noodles over the rice lots of veggies and very tasty. Was somewhat skeptical walking in here but wow were we surprised. Sushi was fantastic and they were fast to serve it. I ordered three special rolls and they were all fantastic. Fuji Rice Time is pretty good. I really enjoy their service. It really stands out because they are very friendly and have already associated me with my order and I've only been their twice. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. They do have a couple of veggie rolls for those that don't eat meat, like me. One thing that was odd was that the tempura roll was warm and I didn't like that. I prefer cold rolls and other places that I've been to haven't given it that way. That does not discourage me from going back because I like the restaurant. It is very low key and friendly. I would highly recommend trying it out. read more

We met friends on Friday around 7pm. Not that busy, only about 6 other people in the restaurant. Service is painfully slow but the server was really great when she was actually at our table. Unfortunately the food is not that good. Our friends sushi was not fresh. He spoke to our server about it and she offered to replace it. She also gave us a free dessert. I had tonkatsu dinner and it was overpriced. They put a lot of food out but it wasn't very tasty. We won't be back because there are better Japanese/sushi restaurants in town. read more

We are regulars here - not the absolute best sushi ever (You'll have to travel to Mame in Eugene for that) but it's very good and one of the better restaurants in Salem in my opinion. A little pricey, but always delicious. We get spicy tuna rolls, tempura vegetables - which are excellent, California rolls and tempura vegetable rolls. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Fuji Rice Time! There are many people saying Fuji Rice time is the best in Salem. That is a severe understatement. I would say best Sushi in Oregon. Better than many places in the Seattle area. I don't come to Rice Time for the sushi. I come for the bento style meals they do a good job with. Every time I eat at Fuji it reminds me of bento style food that I enjoyed in Japan. For a while I was eating there several times a month and never had a bad meal. The gyoza is always a good choice for an appetizer and is always served piping hot. The California rolls are very good as well. As for entree items, I especially like the tempura udon, although I wish they offered kitsune udon. There are three other dishes worth ordering. The chicken curry really tastes great on cold days and the yakisoba is good as well. The teriyaki chicken is perhaps the most boring menu item, but in its defense, the cook has the wisdom not to drown it in sauce. Also, the entree prices are very reasonable for lunch and acceptable for dinner. You'll find better Japanese cuisine in Portland and probably Eugene, but you'll also find a lot worse. read more
