I've ordered from Fuji Thai a few times since it was so close to my old workplace, and it's always been a decent option for a quick lunch. Nothing here necessarily stands out, but it consistently gets the job done. I stopped by again recently since we had a work event nearby. My coworker and I originally planned to try Urban Melt, but ended up back at Fuji Thai. We both ordered the lunch special ($13.95) from the kitchen & sushi bar, which comes with miso soup or a green salad, 3 pieces of chef-selected sushi, a California roll, and your choice of entree (pad thai, pad see ew, fried rice, chicken satay, chicken teriyaki with rice, or shrimp + vegetable tempura). You can choose chicken or tofu, with beef and shrimp for an extra charge. We both went with miso soup and pad thai. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and the service was attentive. The staff member helping us was kind. The space itself is cozy, though the bathroom was very warm (almost like a sauna). As for the food, it was solid for the price. The pad thai hit the spot for a casual lunch. The nigiri quality wasn't the best, but also fair for what you're paying, given the variety in the combo. Overall, it's a good value lunch spot. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way for, but definitely reliable if you're in the area and want something quick and reasonably priced. read more

Delicious, authentic Thai and Japanese food. Never eaten anything that wasn't really tasty.

Can't believe I never updated my original review that was based on take out years ago. Since that time, this has become my go-to Thai restaurant even with a 20 minute drive! The food is always delicious and hot and allows for a lot of customization (especially with a 1-5 heat level choice--my tip: go for one number below what you think and ask for the chili sauce to up it if you need to). The past two times we've visited we've also had some of the sushi, which are rolls that are a little smaller in diameter than I'm used to at our usual sushi restaurant, but very fresh and flavorful nevertheless. The lunch special is well-priced and offers a variety as well. The service is pretty good, but do allow a little extra time, as I believe they only have one sushi chef, one person front of house, and one in the kitchen. Staff was kind and friendly. The restaurant was quiet and nice to dine in. I did see lot of take outs the food was not my favorite but good. We had chicken satay and masman curry and yellow curry. The lady asked spice level I said 3 and she said you sure you do you want a 2. I usually listen so I got the 2 and asked for extra spice on the side. Ordered two dishes for takeout .. one beef and one curry chicken. Both were WAY OVERCOOKED, tough and chewy, almost like the protein was precooked and then cooked again. Flavors were distinctly Thai, but lacking. I usually expect Thai food to have a punch .. not here. We stumbled across this restaurant by accident and i'm so glad that we did. It's part of a strip-mall in Buffalo Grove. It's small inside but it is nicely decorated with a nice bar as the focal point and also some cute outdoor seating patio for warm days. They are super friendly family owned restaurant, our server was very helpful and suggested so nice items for us to try. The food was delicious and it was a generous portion for the price. They have Thai food and also sushi which is perfect for us because we can never decide on one thing to eat so you definitely have options. It's been a while since I've had food from here again. This review is for carry-out only for the Drunken Noodle dish with chicken ($11) during lunch. I had ordered it as part of a group order at the office. My feelings for my dish was that it was just OK. I didn't love the dish, the taste was a little bit off - more salty the sweet and the portion was small for its price. I don't think I'll get this noodle again next time. Some of my coworkers had gotten the Pad Thai and their portion was clearly more than the mine and another person who also ordered the Drunken Noodles. Obviously, this is just one dish and it shouldn't skew my previous review but this dish was not up to expectations so hopefully in the future, another dish will redeem itself through an updated review. read more

Super salty. No other punch of flavors that you would expect from a soup of this type. The chicken had a rubbery texture. Chili fish was basically fried fish pieces tossed in sweet and sour sauce that tasted like it came from a jar. There was no heat. It was basically a version of Chinese sweet and sour chicken with fish. Had the awesome roll. The sushi is decent. However the chef did not roll right enough and the filling kept falling out. Service was friendly. Food lacked authenticity. Save your money. Go somewhere else. read more

I was hesitant to go to Fuji Thai because it has a bad review. However, I found it to be pretty good. The food was very good. I started with the Chicken Satay and it was flavorful and fresh. The papaya salad felt good on a hot summer day and my favorite the mango with sticky rice was perfect. The service was prompt. The bill was less than $30. Place doesn't appreciate their customers. Over the years, they have denied coupons that are a week expired even though they have the exact same ones constantly.
