    Cheetos yes lol

We came back and I wanted to add to this. Check out my picture. I wish this was a joke. This was their 'Moscow Roll'. They had Cheetos on top hahaha. That should tell you everything you need to know about this place.

This visit to Blackfish Rotary Sushi was not my first visit here but also a first visit to a rotary sushi place. This is a nice restaurant locates in a busy strip shopping center. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. It was semi-busy. We were seated promptly. From the conveyor belt sushi plates train, we grabbed the plates that sounded appealing to us. I ordered some dishes from the menu through their electronic ordering system. Their pricing per plate was $3.69 for three pieces of sushi. I ordered some Nigiri to go with some sushi rolls I grabbed from the rotary. The food was good and tasty. I enjoyed my meal as well as the atmosphere. I would go back here. I liked Blackfish.

A rotary sushi joint always makes me smile. Blackfish Rotary Sushi is spacious, nicely decorated, with a smallish and busy parking lot. We came early for lunch, almost as soon as it opened, and immediately started grabbing plates off the conveyor belt. I think we got there a little too early, as more and more varied dishes appeared just about when we were going to leave. I liked the selections, although I would have liked a few more nigiri or sashimi options and not just the big fancy rolls. The seared salmon was so soft and melt-in-your-mouth. There is the option to order off a tablet and your item comes directly to your table. The used plates get dropped in the slot. The mille crepe looked better than it tasted -- it was a little dry. All in all, we were pretty pleased with this new rotary place. I do wish that there was the option to check out on the tablet, though I suppose they must verify that you have placed all your plates through the slot for an accurate count. We forgot to put one plate through -- it still had the crepe on it. This was fun -- we'll be back!

The restaurant is conveniently located by the grocery store. We have gone to Hanabi before and they have horrible well water or a water problem that's localized to their unit only. This restaurants water is unaffected or is properly filtered and fit for drinking. Hanabi might need the health inspector to go at them. There's plenty of seating across three dining halls separated well against sound and even seeing other people. You only see them if you want and only if they're on the same strip as you. I like this because then I don't need to deal with extra noise from kids or end up pointing at someone's baby and then saying "welp, there's our reason to leave!" The environment is very clean and the systems work well albeit a touch noisily, seems like they have a dish washer at each table, not terrible but be aware that it is a water jet and garbage disposal humming down there, not only for the noise concern but don't expect to get anything back if you drop it in there. You'll want to keep phones and other small items well away from the opening or set them on a seat. Anything dropped in may be destroyed. We had a nice assortment of sushi served entirely by automatic conveyor, it is unusual to see ikura up on the conveyor so I grabbed it off very quickly, after one round of Ikura for a rather economical 3.5 dollars I figured no harm in having another, I was surprised when we hit 10 dishes considering the economy, some can get gift cards, I got a nice figurine to display with my collection by my console. Their Miso soup was my closing dish, it was very flavorful for a Miso soup and likely did not come from a package. They probably sourced upper tier Miso soup paste from an Asian marketer and I'm gonna have to go digging for that flavor in our market and my kitchen. It is as much a tea as it is a soup and the better you know how to brew it the better it will taste. My mate had enjoyed the dessert waffle with custard but he wasn't entirely impressed by the chocolate eclaire, he said it was more crunchy and less donut. He expected something more like a Chocolate long John donut. We will definitely be back here. Despite the price per plate being a fixed price for all instead of dynamic pricing we had great food all the way from start to finish. There was no margin for error or cheap ingredients. All of the fish was top of the line in appearance, I dined on several tuna dishes, I couldn't get my stomach to agree to more fish so I didn't have at the salmon. Worth noting is the seared salmon looked a bit rather weakly seared, could probably use a slightly hotter pan for a few seconds longer to achieve a better look and likely flavor too. The salmon looked like the dish everyone was ignoring. With so many other types of fish it's not much surprise considering Salmon is the most pedestrian of fish served in America.

Wow!! There's something so fun and halfway ethical about rotary sushi in general. It's a way to try multiple items without overeating ( I still overate lol ). I enjoyed having the hosts and servers check on me without balancing several plates and drinks and being unattentive. I also noticed that your food doesn't sit - with this system It's extremely affordable. You have to buy drinks or something from the menu to make the final bill expensive and even then "expensive" is only 50.00. My only observations were that - you can clearly tell the fresh sushi from the sushi that's been around the conveyor belt multiple times. I wish there were more soy paper options and way less imitation crab and I would have loved to see more matcha flavored desserts. Other than that - the staff was friendly the place was busy but not packed. There was plenty of parking and everything was clean.

We've have been here with are baby several times and each time the staff was wonderful, super kind to us and attentive. The selection of sushi offered is so vast there was something for everyone! I've noticed a lot of places tend to only offer spicy options but was happy to have non spicy option to enjoy! So delicious and a fun time for all in the family!

I ran in quickly to pick up a surprise bag offered through another app. My bag contained a nice variety of sushi and even a couple of desserts. Because it was an assortment, I'm not positive what most of the rolls were, but many of them were spicy, which I love. My bag also included chopsticks, wasabi and ginger. Overall a great takeout experience!

I thought the sushi was very good quality for a revolving sushi bar. Tuna and scallop nigiri were my favorite and fresh! The price points are great, and friendly service. I will be back.

Fun new addition to BG! I was super happy to see a rotary sushi place open. This is located in the same parking lot as Garden Fresh which can get a bit busy, but parking is still pretty easy. It was fun to dine with my party of 5 because we could each grab what we wanted. There was a nice variety of sushi, sides, and desserts around dinner time. There was also an option to order specific items off an iPad, but we opted for the rotary option. Finished plates would drop into a slot that would count them and they were all priced the same. The sushi was fresh tasting and met my expectations. The desserts weren't super impressive and looked pre-made. For every 10 plates, a little toy would come out of a dispenser above the table. The staff was super friendly and checked in on us often.

Made a visit here during the soft opening and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The interior here is much nicer looking than most restaurants in the area, though this area recently has had some restaurants with very nice decor open recently. The look and feel isn't too different from Kura Revolving Sushi, and a bit more spacious than Sushi Station. Service is fairly fast and friendly and prices are similar to other spots with a similar concept (neither super cheap nor expensive). Parking is fairly easy though I'm certain that this will change quickly once the restaurant is fully open for business - though the shopping center should be able to accommodate all people looking to park even when the restaurant is full. The food quality was overall good. There are some different options than what you'll find in most sushi places nearby for nigiri, like scallop or beef. Fish quality is similar to what you get in other spots nearby - at a similar price point of $2 per piece of nigiri. Similarly maki and temaki rolls are also priced competitively, and of similar quality to what you'd get around 3 to 4 pieces per $4. The amount of selection is quite good, exceeding the size of the menu of what you'll typically see in the sushi restaurants, both AYCE and prepare-to-order that you'll find nearby. This covers everything from the standard crunchy, fried, fish/non-fish, etc. rolls -- and even ones that are more westernized like the Philadelphia roll or Shrimp Tempura roll. This is part of what makes the experience so fun, the ability to try so many different options at the same price point - while also having above average presentation and the ability to see the final product before grabbing it for consumption. Outside of the sushi, there's also various items such as sashimi, appetizers, and noodles that can be ordered from the kitchen and delivered by train. This is a fun experience as this arrives on the higher track with lights and voice. Overall, this is an experience that's sure to delight customers with a good amount of different sushi options that are colorful and delicious at a reasonable price point. I can't wait to try the full experience soon with family and friends who are already excited to have a rotary sushi option in Wheeling.

Blackfish Rotary Sushi uses innovative technology which makes the restaurant feel like you are stepping into a futuristic style of dining. It was fascinating watching the robot train deliver food. Like other rotary sushi restaurants, for every 10 plates collected, the dispenser dispenses a toy which is always fun for the kids to return plates into the return chute and watch the toy dispenser release its magic! For our family of 5, we accumulated about 20+ plates. The eel rolls and handrolls are always popular among the kids for its sweetness. I really appreciate that the handrolls are filled all the way to the bottom, to the tip of the cone, with the fish and rice. The pieces of sashimi were decently sized slices and fresh. The Calamari salad was a delightful surprise because of the texture. It isn't the typical crunch like fried chicken, but "chewy crunch" with a tangy sweet vinegar flavor. The Chicken Karage is also a favorite because of the coating. The breading is different than the usual wheat flour batter; it has a potato starch type of breading that gives the chicken a light batter crisp. The Miso Ramen noodles had a nice texture and flavor too. It was well salted and savory. The portion was a smidge on the small size because the bowl was moderately sized and shallow. There was a fistful of noodles with a lot of soup & veggies. We enjoyed all the different choices and flavors of the sushi. All the ingredients tasted fresh and presented well!

This is a newly opened rotary sushi restaurant in Buffalo Grove. The restaurant is spacious and has a modern decor. Currently, most of their plates are $3.69 which comes with 2 pieces for nigiri and 3 pieces for the rolls. You can also order from the tablet on your table. We tried a few nigiri plates and my favorite was scallop - the size was just right. We tried tonkatsu ramen which came in a small bowl and the quality was average. We also tried a few hand rolls which I think were too saucy for my taste. Overall the price was fair for the quality and portion. They currently gives out a $10 gift card for every $50 spent on Father's day (6/15) so might be worth coming back.
