I spent $17k on a premium Daikin Fit inverter system from Fuse, and they sized the unit based on what my ducts could handle rather than what my house actually needs. They were communicative and really helpful right until they had a check in hand. Whatever savings you may have up front will not compare to Fuse falling short when you need them most. I paid for a premium inverter system specifically for its modulation capabilities, but because it's oversized, it functions like a cheap single-stage unit. When I asked for the Manual-J load calculation performed on our home, they produced a back-of-napkin CFM calculation based on duct size alone. A load calculation is required by Title 24 and it's been more than six weeks of back and forth with their Yelp reps to attempt to hear back from the project manager. The 4-ton unit is clearly oversized for our home; the compressor shows it's constantly "hunting" because it cannot modulate low enough to match our actual heat load. I've been trying to resolve this for *six weeks*, but I've been completely ghosted by their technical department while the Yelp reps just keep "pinging" people who never respond. If you are looking for professionals or any kind of support after you pay them, look elsewhere. I am now forced to escalate this to the Fremont Building Department and the CSLB to get the code non-compliance fixed. Beware. read more

Fuse installed a new heat pump and air handler for us. The price was competitive and the work was excellent. The thing that stood out the most was their thorough assistance with permitting and rebates. They sent information on available rebates, provided the information needed to access these rebates, scheduled the inspection, and sent reminders. This part was super top notch! I deducted a star because the estimator recommended a side blowing outdoor unit in a space that was not suitable for it. There was a dryer vent right where the intake is and a structure right in front. A top blowing unit would have mitigated these problems somewhat. A homeowner will be oblivious to these nuances until after installation but the estimator should have known better. I would have deducted two stars but they did make it right by moving the dryer vent away from the outdoor unit. Regardless of this experience, I would use Fuse again for other work. read more

I can be pretty lazy about reviews but I'm writing this mainly due to the superb work by Vlad and his helper (unfortunately did not catch his name). They were here for two days and "we" ran into some hiccups. Most notably, on the first day after the gas was turned off, the pilot light on the water heater was out. I called at ~9:30pm and asked what to do, I wasn't sure if the gas was off completely or not. Vlad called back in less than 5 minutes, told me the issue and offered to help walk me through it. The guy is just knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. As far as Fuse goes, they were one of the best quotes for a heat pump. We went with the Daikin Fit. We had no AC and the furnace sounded like a jet engine. Running the fan was excessively loud and we relied on inefficient, space-hogging portable ACs. Needless to say we are extremely happy with the unit and the work done by Vlad. The Daikin Fit is as quiet as they say (especially with the filter box). My only negative was that the estimator hadn't included the price of drywall install or told us about the filter box beforehand. I don't want to fault him too much since he was a nice guy with lots of patience, but I would have preferred to know beforehand. All in all we had a great experience with Fuse. read more

Our A/C was nearing the end of its life and we thought about replacing it (and the home furnace) with a heat pump. I had asked a friend who had his home HVAC upgraded for recommendation(s) and he recommended FUSE, so we contacted them for a quote. Jeff came to check out the project. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant and patiently answered all our questions. He sent us three quotes and we decided to go with a Daikin heat pump system. The prices for the system were in line with what I was expecting. Our installers, Andy and "Ace" were both friendly and professional. It took them two days to install the system. Our system is in the attic and they have done a really clean job with the installation. Frankly, the attic looks cleaner now than when they started! Our attic used to have a pull-string light and they replaced it with a proper electrical outlet with a switch. They didn't have to do that, but it is much nicer now. In addition they replaced an outdoor outlet with a proper GFCI outlet with a weather-proof cover. During the installation they did run into some snag with the thermostat, but they worked diligently to resolve it. During this whole process I also worked with their rebate and permit coordinator, Maria, and she was very efficient and prompt in replying to my emails. One thing I would like to see FUSE improve on is to unify their multiple CRM systems and provide a consistent number to call. Different emails had different reply-to addresses. It made some of the communication a bit confusing. In spite of that, they have been great to work with and I will definitely contact them for any future work (such as replacing the gas water heater.) read more

Fuse did a pretty good job. I wanted a new HVAC system and a pre wire for an induction stove. They sent the sales person the day after I requested a quote. We had to renegotiate a few times due to technical issues with the original proposal. The induction stove wiring was a whole different set of drama with a miss in the permit application and a delay in the actual installation. The final design was actually significantly smaller in scope and price than I was originally planning for. Roby did a great job working through all of the design and price changes. Hired them to install an EV charger initially. They scheduled a zoom call to explain process and for me to show my current setup. This was a positive. The fact they would handle permits was a plus. Their pricing wasn't the best out of the quotes I got, but given that they would handle permitting I was willing to pay the extra cost. I asked them to also fix a ceiling light in my mother's bathroom, they said they would (extra work, extra fee of course, which is fine). Did take quite the back and forth to convince them to do it in the same visit which should not have been necessary. The electrician came in as scheduled and proceed to do the work. I reminded him that I needed the ceiling light fixed after he was done w the EV charger, he said it was fine. After the charger was installed I showed him the broken ceiling light and told him I had bought the replacement base myself in order to have it done same day and not have to go procure it. I had even removed the cone in the recessed light to ease the process. After some time, I noticed the guy was having a hard time removing the metal tube to get to the wiring. I offered some words of encouragement and asked if there was anything I could do. He went off on how difficult the job was, that he should not have done it and something about the price they were charging. I was quite displeased with the attitude and tone so I left him to finish the work. This is in an ensuite bathroom next to my elderly mother's bedroom, where she was resting. The man continued to complain and loudly curse at the job. Complete lack of professionalism. Complaints kept coming out of him even after he was able to replace the lamp base. He didn't bother to demonstrate the light was working, to replace the cone, or to pick up all of the debris from the attic insulation he pulled out as he was replacing the lamp base. Basically storming out of the place and only stopping to ask for payment. No explanations as to anything I should know about the EV charger installation, or the future inspection requirements. Given his attitude and behavior, I should have kicked him out there and then but allowed him to finish, only for the need for the job to be completed and to avoid further altercation and upsetting my elderly parent. Overall this company has shown a lack of attentive customer service, but complete lack of professionalism from the electrician who actually executed to work. I will not be hiring then again. read more

Not only did they provide a full refund, they sent a more experienced technician who had a far better demeanor and professionalism. The technician reviewed the previous maintenance attempt, addressed the humidifier pad matter, serviced the HRV which was previously missed, and walked me through the control panel's readings. We're thoroughly satisfied with this technician, but taking off one star for the aggressive, frequent follow-up by customer service to remove or amend my review. Requested a quote to replace a gfci outlet and replace my hard wired nest thermostat with First Alert SC5 (direct swap no wiring needed and i am providing the units). The initial quote I received was $875 to replace 5 smoke detectors and around $300 for a GFCI outlet replacement. They came back up updated quotes which was still too high for a quick swap which takes less than an hour(took me 30 mins). Updated quotes came back at $400 for the Smoke detector replacements and $250 for GFCI replacement. Seriously no wiring and nothing needed to replace and the quote is much higher than the actual units. This has been the most rip off quote I have ever seen. Guess people feel in Bay Area they can charge whatever they want. Went ahead and replaced them myself after checking some youtube videos. read more

After having them service my old furnace before, I finally transitioned to getting a heat pump done. Anton was the installer. He did a great job. He took longer than he thought but was transparent about what he was doing the whole time and did his best to answer my questions. He worked with another colleague to trouble shoot the hiccups along the way. He even had the decency to admit he made a mistake but was quick to correct it. I appreciate his honesty and integrity. Very personable team. I look forward to working with them in the future. TLDR: We've been without heat for 8 months. They suggested to replace the whole HVAC unit (indoor + outdoor) which we did. The initial replacement took almost 6 months from the day they started the work (winter 2024-2025) until they finally passed the city inspection around June 2025. We never really needed the heat cause it was already summer. Fast forward winter 2025-2026, when we needed the heat, it was not working! It's been more than a month now since I reported the issue and it's still not working. Now I have my doubts if they ever got it to work properly. Of course it heats when it's warm outside. But who needs heat in the summer? And it's almost the end of winter again. So that's 2 winters without heat. What I'm super frustrated about is that it takes them 1-2 weeks to schedule an appointment. Seriously, can't you just prioritize finishing the work? It's been a year now and you haven't gotten the unit to work properly. read more
