DON'T BELIEVE THE FOUR STAR REVIEW! READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE! I brought my car in for repairs after my daughter knocked my front bumper off of my car while backing out of a parking spot. I took it in on a Tuesday. I was told that my car should be ready in a week. It just needed the bumper repaired and mounted. In the meantime I had to rent a car at $30 a day. A week passed and I had heard nothing. I called to find out if my car was ready and was told that someone would call me back. They didn't. I called again the next day and was told that my car would be ready on Thursday or Friday at the latest. On Thursday I called again and was told that someone would call me back. They didn't. I called again on Friday and was told AGAIN that someone would call me back. They finally called me back and said that my car would either be ready that evening or Monday and that they would let me know by the end of the day. Once again they did not call me as promised. Now I have to pay for the rental for at least another three days and hope that my car will be ready on Monday. Meanwhile, I am now out over $500 for the rental and all this to repair a BUMPER! I will never use these people again. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Horrible customer service. read more

Serious rear end body damage to my 1 month old Lexus IS300, and Geico towed her here. The process took longer than expected, which at the time bothered me, but the end results relieved the pain. Stay far, far away if this is coming out of your own pocket. I came into G&C after my insurance provider sent me following me hitting something small on the highway. The object made a few minor scratches to the lower front bumper on the driver's side. I could literally cover the four or five scratches with my hand. What I needed fixed was the plastic surrounding the fender, as that was broke and scraping the road as I drove. After pulling up to the shop a G&C worker (I do not recall his name) came to inspect my car with a clipboard. He walked around the car making notes and pointed to the scratches that I didn't care about and told me in detail how he was going to pull the bumper off and yada-yada-yada. He observed the fender and said "oh that's the fender lining, we will order that from Hyundai." Being that I know very little about cars, I figured it was going to be the most costly part of the transaction, with my $500 deductible I wasn't sure what it was going to cost me. I then told him "I don't care about the scratches, you can leave those, I need the fender fixed." The G&C rep then looked, scratched his head, and pretended he didn't hear me and started running his fingers along the scratches suggesting how he was going to paint it over for me. I thought it was odd but since I don't know much about cars I figured he knew the fender liner would exceed my deductible and he was going to fix the scratches since anything after my deductible was covered by insurance. My fault for truly believing most people are honest. After a few minutes in his office he gave me a quote of over $600, which meant I had to spend the whole $500 deductible of my own money. Of course I was thinking it was the fender liner since I have heard "fender" and "expensive" used interchangeably when people get their cars fixed. Later that night I had a hard time sleeping because I thought something was off about the whole ordeal, and then remember the G&C rep mentioning the fender liner needed replaced. So I looked on my phone and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that fender liners were only $55.00 brand new from Hyundai...you better believe my mind immediately went to when the G&C rep obviously pretended not to hear me when I clearly told him I only wanted the fender liner done. That man knew he wouldn't make a good profit off of it, so he ignored what I said and went on talking about what he knew they would get my money on. He pulled a fast one on me. If I had only known more about cars I would have known he was trying to screw me over for his gain. By the time I called the next morning to try and stop everything, I was informed the work had already been done. I had been ripped off by G&C Auto Body. read more

I am so glad that my insurance company sent me to G & C Auto Body to have my poor car repaired after it was hit on 2 separate occasions in 2 different Safeway parking lots with no note on either occasion. The work they did was perfect. They didn't take as long as I had anticipated it would take. Ron kept me updated as things progressed instead of me having to constantly call for status updates. I don't know how to begin but an inconsiderate young woman hit my daughter's car while she was stopped at a stop light on her way to see a patient, of course the other driver was texting and to make things worse she said she didn't know who her insurance carrier blah blah blah, I was so upset to know all of these but it turned out we had the same insurance company. Took my car there for repairs through my car insurance ( not going to say what exactly or why ) but they did a lazy ass job and didn't even care to walk me through my vehicle when I got my vehicle back. Took it home and didn't even noticed that they left some parts undone. More like they made it worse. Honestly I didn't have time or want to waste my time back to that shop that does careless unfinished job. Plus I need my car for work and errands. Ain't got time to wait around work on their schedule. Received a call from the shop again for follow up, told them about the unfinished job, they offered to do a "fix up." Boy how I regret going back there, they must've gotten mad and made it uglier. I noticed a new scratch. I'm so sad that my insurance works with this shop. Poor service. Just picked up my car today and so far the process from beginning to end was awesome. This is my first time going to an auto repair and Brenda took care of me. Very educated on the service and hospitality they provide. She investigated my car and and explain to me the process on what will be done and how long it will take. She was very informal on how the inspection goes and estimates for my insurance. As I was in a rental, she followed up with me and gave me accurate information on the status of my car. When it was time to pick up she walked me through all the paper work and inspected my car before I had the keys, to make sure the workers did thier best work and it does show looks like nothing ever happened to my car and looks like I just bought it off the lot. I took in my Lexus to get the side panel and bumper fixed. Even though I already had some damage in the front. My insurance can only cover the side but Andrew McAdams told me he will do his best to make it as new as possible. It was a long shot and the guys around did not think it was possible. They took great care of me from begging to end. I came in 9 days later to pick up my car. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!! Andrew made the car look so new that it looks like it came from the factory. Everything was fixed even the extra damage that was not covered was also fixed. This is a very skillful mechanic. G&C Auto Body shop has never fail me. I took my son's car at their shop last year, and they did a great job! This time was no different. Rico was the staff who assisted me. He was very helpful and genuinely kind. He made sure that I am aware of their communication with the insurance, I did not have to keep checking on him, since he was the one who would always give me updates. He was very flexible on time, even offered to come in a little earlier in the morning, so I can drop my car off before I start to work at 8, and worked on my availability when it was time to pick up my vehicle. Rico even put one of the side bar that came off from my car, since replacement was not on my budget right now, the shop made sure that the bar will hold until I can get enough money to replace it. All in all, it was a great experience...again! It seems like does not matter which staff assist you, since all of them are great! read more

Great customer service. My car had suspension damage and required thousands of dollar in repair. They worked with my insurance company and successfully got everything completed. That was about a month ago. On Friday I noticed some shaking. I took it back to G&C Auto Body and they rented me a car and took ownership immediately. Turns out it's my brakes and not their responsibility. I was unable to pick my car up and they allowed me to keep the rental car until I was able to pick my car up. Again great customer service. Well, this is an interesting topic to review, as its usually that we are visiting these types of locations in 'less than perfect' circumstances.(I had a lady hit my car and try to run from scene). As it's also not a place where I look forward to having to continuously visit for a great experience :) That being said...Rachael and her crew blew me away with service and experience. My best friend owns a well known body shop, and he doesn't even take as good care of me as Rachael did. Rachael knew how to be with my 2 crazy toddler girls, which as a parent, is a nice thing to see. My girls were treated like royalty while I signed paperwork. People came out of their offices just to say hello to them. They offered small snacks and water while we waited. I always was kept up to date with my car's situation. I wont go into deep detail but they even spent extra time fixing items that I didnt even notice were wrong from a previous accident the car was in before I owned it. They obviously didnt have to do that, yet they did. That says alot. They have won my business for anytime I need work done on any of my cars, without a doubt. They had my car back within just a few days, looking better than it did when I bought it at the dealership. read more

I had the misfortune of being rear ended twice this year. Once in March and again in July. When I was rear ended in March the repair at G & C was very quick but not great. There was over spray in the bed-liner of my truck. 4 months later I was rear ended again and advised by the insurance company to bring it back to G &C. I brought it back and Mary Tabbert, the claims adjuster, who works for G & C, reported prior damage. There was a scratch on the left panel. She told me they will not repair the left panel but would pay me out for the damage. The payout amounted to $74. She also said because of the prior damage they would not perform the repairs. I then brought my truck to Regal Collision at 529 Tuolumne St., and they confirmed the damage to the left panel was from the collision and would be repaired. I had used Regal Collision twice in the past but did not this time based upon the insurance recommendation. Both times they did excellent work and my vehicle was returned detailed and looking great. Despite what the insurance states, their work is 100% guaranteed. Mary Talbert at G & C was rude, condescending, and incompetent. I advise to never use G & C in Vallejo and go to Regal Collision instead. read more

I'm very impressed with the workmanship done on my car. I had severe paint damage on my side rear bumper, there were a few gashes that the paint was completely gone and the plastic underneath was showing. This was my first time going to an auto body shop, and I was concerned if the repair would be noticeable and the paint color wouldn't match as I would like, but the repair was outstanding. I can't even notice any of the prior damage and the paint color match was excellent, and my car is white. I dropped off my car in the morning and it was finished at the end of the day for me to pick up. I highly recommended this place. read more

These guys rock for customer service. I'm from out of town and had some jerk shoot a BB or slingshot at my side window while on deliveries in the area about a week ago. It completely shattered but didnt fall through..I didn't have time to wait for a window replacement and needed a temporary fix so the window didn't fall out and I could finish the rest of my deliveries throughout the bay that day. I stopped in here randomly just asking for suggestions. Jeff Herman came right out of his office when he heard me pleading my case to the nice front desk attendant. Jeff immediately pulled a tech from what he was doing to wrap both sides of the window with crash wrap to keep the window intact until I could get it fixed. I insisted on paying them something and Jeff insisted that I owe them nothing. He saved the day for me and would not take any form of payment. If I lived in area I would definitely use these guys for any body work in the future. If its anything like the service i got, you will be treated like royalty here.
