Ambience: Located inside AT&T Conference Center and Hotel. If you are staying in the hotel or within walking distance, I would recommend to pop in for a drink. But not worth an Uber ride or parking to come here. Service: While there were quite a few servers working must of them were standing around on their phones or staring at us rather than offering to assist. The bartender was overworked as she was doing all the work. She was actively greeting people at their tables leaving the bar area. Then she would run back to the bar area to make drinks. Eventually some of the other servers grabbed the drinks to serve those at tables. Drink: We popped down for a drink during happy hour. The special for the night was the Salted dog. We asked bartender what was in the drink. I love grapefruit so why not try it. What a lovely beautiful looking drink. The first sip I was not sure if I would like it. I let it sit for a few minutes to allow the ice to melt a bit. And well that really made the drink. I ended up really enjoying this drink and would recommend to give it a try.

Really good lunch on a nice patio with great service. I got the Achiote Chicken Sandwich with house chips. The chips were crisp and tasty, and the sandwich was a gooey mess of delicious. tender chicken, with fresh toppings. My wife got the Superfood Salad and added shrimp. It was a large bowl of fresh greens, with lots of tender shrimp. Service was excellent. Somewhat limited menu, but I had multiple items that looked good to me to choose from.

This is a very convenient place to get a quick bite. We came here for lunch on a all day meeting day. We got cheese dip and chip as the appetizer, southwest salad, and smoke beef taco. The cheese dip is very flavorful. However, the cheese gets cold too quickly, and it was tough to dip the chips in. The ingredients for the salad were very fresh. The vegetables were crispy. Smoke beef taco was tasty. It had a very smoky flavor. Meat was tender. It came with chip and salsa. The salsa has a strange after taste, and I did not touch the salad after 1 bite. Service was great. Our server was friendly.

This restaurant is located inside the ATT Hotel and Conference Center on the UT Campus, where we are at a conference. Came in here for happy hour and ended up having dinner. The drinks were good, but inconsistent between bartenders. Our server Frankie was gracious and nice. The atmosphere is casual, but they have some nice drinks on the menu. We all had nachos, which were huge. These can feed 2-3 people easily! We got 3 between 6 people and didn't even finish. We got beef, chicken and pulled pork. My favorite for sure was the pulled pork! The salsa was fresh and delicious, and the guacamole was creamy and flavorful. I think I tasted a hint of cilantro in the queso which was wonderful. We had a nice experience here. The manager Oscar rounded out our night so that our server could go home, and he was absolutely fabulous. Took really great care of us!

I was staying in the hotel for a conference so this was kind of our lifeline in a pinch. I'd really recommend it if you're staying at the AT&T Hotel and conference center. Through out the week I had a chicken sandwich, the burger, and the NY strip. All were very good and was satisfied completely with the orders! Service was good and they also do happy hour. I forget what day but local beers were only 3 bucks, very pleasant surprise.

Shrimp n' Grits with pimento cheese grits

Not many seats for sitting up at the bar which I prefer to do on work travel, but nice staff and service. Chips trio dip appetizer was good. Margarita was good. Shrimp and pimento cheese grits was delicious!

After touring the Blanton Museum I needed to find lunch some where. It so happen on Sunday the museum cafe offered little other than cold sandwiches and I wanted a hot meal. A woman at the museum recommended Gabriel's Cafe to me and it ended up working out great because I needed a taxi which is offered just outside their door and it was walking distance since I had no car. Located in the AT&T conference center ground level Gabriels is the hotels bar/lounge restaurant. It is on the edge of UT campus, a view of the tower is within view of the door I entered. I found it to be huge, but on the day I visited hardly anyone was there. I scouted the bar with playoff football and did not hesitate. A couple of others had also ponied up and were enjoying the game and some libations. A look around the dining room and the place was spotless. Every table clear, every chair in it's place and it presented nicely. The male bartender took no time to get my drink order and since I was in a hurry I told him I needed to order quickly and catch a cab. He placed a menu in front of me and I flipped it open and reviewed and asked for a recommendation of something hot. He said the house burger with house made chips are a great item, especially for a first timer. So I said go for it and had a brew in front of me in no time. He was friendly and we chatted a bit about Austin since I was from out of town. I really felt comfortable in the place and dug the sophisticated decor. I relaxed and watched the Packers and some other team duel it out in a play off game. My food arrived in probably less than 15 minutes and smelled dlish. Burger, cheese, bacon and nice over sized buns and house chips. I first snapped a few chips down which were surprisingly some of the best house chips I've ever had. The burger staring at me and ready to consume did not disappoint. I was juicy, scrumptious and quite filling. The bartender was attentive and checked on me a few times to make sure all my needs were met. My check arrived quickly upon request and the amount around $15 was a great deal. Credit card swiped and a nice tip left for a great lunch and service. Since Gabriel's is in a hotel those not staying may overlook this gem. I can tell you if I was in the area again I would definitely come back for the same menu item, it was a really solid burger and chips. Unsure what the vibe of this place is when they have business, but for me it worked well and could only get better with some background laughter and a nice group of people. Absolutely a cool lounge.

Fabulous! My friend…read moreTiffany told me about Anthem on Rainy Street. Neither of us had been, and also it's been years since we've been on Rainy Street. So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. We later saw Brian at another place. And I'll write about that in my review for that place as well. Brian, you're Doll, thank you for your hospitality.

We were excited to try the food, and were hungry. Our server appeared (I can't remember his name but he was a short guy with blond hair). I ordered a cocktail and my husband ordered beer to begin with. He went away and then came back asking my husband if he wanted some whiskey cocktail, and we corrected him that we had asked for a particular beer. No big deal. We then ordered the deviled eggs and shishito peppers, and the red fish and short ribs for entree. A lady brought us the drinks, and the deviled eggs. Our server swung by and then disappeared. We thought the shishito peppers were on their way. We waited for what seemed like a really long time and still no shishito peppers. We also noticed that each table had a carafe of water except ours. We were just given water once, and then our server never bothered to fill the water up. Anyway, we kept waiting since there was no sign of the server. At this point, we felt he might have forgotten the second appetizer and we just did not want it, but he was nowhere to be found. A man (not our server) brought out our entrees. We then told him that we had been waiting for our second appetizer and would just want to cancel it. We asked if we could get the biscuits instead. He brought out the biscuits within a few minutes. Now this is where it really annoyed us. Had our server just come over and said he had forgotten our shishito peppers, it would have been okay. Human. What he tried was act smart and dropped by saying the shishito peppers would be out to which we said that we didn't want an appetizer after an entree and had cancelled it. I almost felt like he was treating us as if he thought we don't really dine out or whatever and he could just make fools of us. This really didn't sit right with me. We asked him for water and he filled it up left. The food was above average. The short ribs were good but my red fish had been hammered! The biscuits were good. The deviled eggs were good as well. Anyway, we finished our meal, and got the check, paid, and were waiting to finish our drinks. The receipt was on our table. Also, note, it was not a particularly busy day with several empty tables. What our server did next was absolutely unacceptable. I think he wanted to see if we had tipped him after his awful service. We did, but not 20% as we always do because of the soddy job he did, not to mention his attitude. We paid 15% which I think was more than what he deserved now. Out of nowhere, and mind you, after being absent for long periods before, he just came by, grabbed the paid up bill from our table to our shock, while we were still sitting and talking, looked at the bill, turned towards us, and muttered something angry under his breath and walked away. I have never seen this level of entitlement and bad behavior. We left right away. We had been really looking forward to this meal but I would not want to go back. The food was good, but not great, and I would not want to put up with such obnoxious behavior as a paying customer.

Was sat right away after arriving and greeted shortly after. The convent was described as this was my first time in and the specials of the day also provided. After reviewing the menu I went with the corn bread, fried quail and the strawberry cream puff for dessert. The cornbread was amazing with the butter and softness while having a nice outside crunch. The quail had amazing crispy outside and the meat seasoned well, the creamed corn went well and finally the strawberry cream puff had nothing left. So delicious. I love that the restaurant basically wraps around the kitchen to give a full on experience.

They seated us in the far back table which we instantly thought was strange, considering they had many open tables for us. When we asked him if there was a problem he simply said they can not serve us drinks, simply because we are a loud bunch of girls, which they took as unruly? We chose to leave and when asked to speak to a manager. We were greeted by a very RACIST white lady named Osha. No personality and no clue on hospitality. If you run a restaurant that is so "popular" you need language training. Thankful we didn't give them our business. They certainly do not deserve us. This is a racist establishment.

Had not been to this restaurant in a good while, and was a last minute decision. Good choice. The whipped feta is always a treat -- light and creamy with a solid feta taste, but not overpowering, served with a few orange slices and thinly sliced almonds, and pita. Special dish! Beet salad excellent, but the Fresno peppers had way too much heat, so pushed them to side. My wife had the Moroccan curry, which had a very spot on Moroccan flavor (been there 3x), and was a large, filling portion so brought home leftovers. I had the grilled pork chop which was large, perfectly grill with a tasty bourbon-based glaze, served with a large roasted garlic clove. Wonderful dish.
