Gallagher is a traditional New York steakhouse established in 1927, and I believe this LV location is their 3rd. It has that old school, vintage steakhouse vibe. Very traditional. I've been here multiple times for birthdays, celebrations, and just because, and each time has outdone the last. My most recent visit was lovely. Our waiter was awesome; he checked in often, never let my glass go empty, and offered suggestions to the table. Wonderful service, even better food. Top notch dining experience. We were staying at New York New York for a conference and ended our day pretty hungry. So we wanted a good meal in the hotel. Gallagher's is a white tablecloth establishment that exudes fine dining. It's for a romantic feel with great food and service. Starting with service, it was great, as one would expect at this type of establishment. I liked that despite us being causally dressed, they didn't treat us different. I ordered the salmon with fries gnocchi and a side of roasted mushrooms. My mom ordered the scallops which she said they were very good. The salmon was perfect! We were a party of 7 and we arrived right on time for our reservation. The hostess checked us in and we were seated quicky after arriving. Our server was amazing and he took really good care of us. We ordered four appetizers to share (two calamari's and two shrimp scampi's) 7 entrees, and 2 desserts. My dinner entree consisted of an off the bone NY strip with a side of mashed potatoes, a side of green beans, and as for a drink I ordered a peach cocktail. Everything was delicious. My meat was cooked perfectly and it was so easy to cut and bite into. The mashed potatoes were whipped and fluffy - soo good. My drink was not too strong and not too sweet. I loved that I could taste the peach flavoring. For dessert, the table shared two sticky toffee puddings. This is a must - it was really good. I had previously been to their flagship location in NYC and that was one of one of the best meals I had ever had, so expectations were high coming in. The LV location lived up to it. Was in town on a getaway with the fellas and the trip would not be complete unless we hit a steakhouse. The service was spectacular. From the moment we walked in we were well taken care of. We had wine and some drinks. For our mains half of us got the ribeye and the other half got a cut they called the Gallagher's special (or something like that which was a 7-8 oz cut from the ribeye). We got some mashed potatoes, spring beans, spinach and brussel sprouts as sides. Though the sides are served as family style, the portion size is not that big but the steaks more than make up for it. The steaks were seasoned and cooked to perfection and everyone enjoyed. The price was about what you would pay for a steakhouse anywhere else. I returned again to Gallagher's after their remodel and had a an overall similar experience. The dining room is obviously much nicer now and is larger and more spacious. We had a large party, and the server was quite knowledge and friendly and attentive. I had the aged rum cocktail to start which was very tasty and fairly strong. Complimentary bread was provided, but it was kind of standard and fairly boring compared to the varieties offered at other strip steakhouses. I had the Caesar salad which was quite good overall but nothing terribly outstanding. I had the pork chop entree which came with potato puree and green beans. The pork was the highlight of the meal and was tender and juicy. The potato puree was honestly lukewarm and kind of boring. The green beans were also fairly standard. For dessert I had the toffee pudding. It was quite sweet and tasty, but the presentation was highly disappointing for a premium strip steakhouse (see photo). Different cuts and chefs can make a difference. With that, there are times I've liked it better than others, but even if it's a worse day, it's pretty dang good. Always Worth It Great service and friendly people await you at the bar at Gallagher's in the NYNY Hotel and Casino. Oh yeah. Great steak too. I have my usual here, as I do at many places. A bottle of the Educated Traveler $75 that never disappoints to start with my wedge $16 that sadly has gotten smaller. Not that I need more food. Next let's fire the Cowboy (bone in) Rib-Eye $75 cooked medium rare, because that's the correct way, with a side of creamed spinach $15. I also ask for some sea salt from the kitchen so after I slice up the steak I can sprinkle some on. It's a lot of food and I always have leftovers but it's worth it. There are so many top notch steakhouse within walking distance (Ocean Prime & Joe's Seafood but get the bone in filet) that I still visit when I'm in town but Gallagher's is always on my list. Located inside New York New York casino. I've wanted to try them for a while they display aged steaks in the window... if I ever rob a casino that's what I'm stealing. I'm a steak guy. I eat a lot of steak. I mean I don't love steak I just tell it I do so it will sleep with me...this was probably within the top 3 steaks in a lifetime of eating steak. I had a waiter and an assistant waiter. That seemed to be the norm. Both were polite, well turned out and efficient. The restaurant was very classic steakhouse vibe, not a complaint. I was torn between the ribeye and the bison ribeye and the waiter was able to explain the difference. I went with the ribeye. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The dry aging made it melt like butter. My mouth is watering typing this... paired it with a loaded baked potato. You can't really mess up a loaded baked potato and they didn't. I also had the French onion soup. Again a fairly simple soup but it sometimes falls short. This one did not. It was everything i look for in onion soup. They served a crusty bread and dipped in the soup it was a really nice combo. There was also a cranberry bread that just worked. Basically I gave it 5 stars because 6 wasn't an option. read more

The New York Strip was cooked to perfection. It was carved table side by the amazing Bryan. The Prime Rib was fabulous! The Mac and Cheese had so much soul. The fries were scrumptious. Well, this was a really disappointing trip. I come to Vegas once a month to try all the restaurants. I had been looking forward to ordering their tomahawk. I came with a friend and we ordered Steak tartare$22 Dozen oysters $25 Calamari $25 Tomahawk $170 Potato puree $16 Cowboy butter $6 Peppercorn sauce$6 The oysters were all different sizes and different tastes each oyster seemed to not match in flavors it was off putting. Steak tartare presented nicely but the bread given is clunky and not enjoyable. Calamari was very good would definitely say a little above average. The Tomahawk was the worst part of this meal. I had looked forward to it for weeks and it was awful! I asked for medium rare and it was blue with ZERO seasoning. I told the busboy since our waiter never came back, it's not seasoned and he suggested I add salt. Not only that but for $170 they could have taken the smallest semblance of care while cutting it and they cut it like a prime rib Absolutely inexcusable. Potato puree was wonderful but the portion is insanely small. The "enhancements" being the two separate sauces ordered. The cowboy butter was good, the peppercorn was not. However when we asked for boxes, they took both the sauces we had paid for and dumped them out and bussed them away they didn't give it to us to go. Our busboy was there more often than our waiter, who we saw exclusively when we ordered and when I asked for the bill. He was not obtainable to even communicate with. The mashed potatoes were creamy and tasted delicious, but you must order the mac and cheese if you come here. It was perfectly crispy on top and packed with flavor. I came in with a party of four and politely asked if we could be seated at a slightly larger table. We typically order many shared plates, and we are almost always seated at a table for six without issue. Our waiter this visit was excellent and very accommodating, which made the hostess interaction stand out even more. When I made the request, the manager rolled her eyes and responded condescendingly, saying, "A bigger table for four people?" The tone was dismissive and unnecessary. She then walked away without explanation and proceeded to speak about us to another staff member within view. It wasn't about the table it was about the attitude. For a restaurant of this caliber, especially one that relies on repeat customers, this level of service at the front door is unacceptable and uncomfortable. I'll continue to praise the wait staff, who were professional and attentive, but management should seriously address how guests are treated upon arrival. First I had an Appletini which was very balanced the alcohol was not overwhelming and it was perfect. So perfect I had to get two!!! Then I had the wedge salad with extra bacon it was so good and I'm thinking the blue cheese dressing was homemade. I also had the chilled seafood display. The shrimp was way bigger than I expected and plump and juicy. The lobster tail was not overcooked and tender. The king crab leg....was very good!!!!!! The cocktail sauce I swear was homemade it was so good. People were sharing their food. Not me! I wanted it all to myself. The other thing was the presentation of all the food dishes was immaculate. We stopped by unplanned after seeing a show and they were so nice and accommodating. While waiting for our seat we sat in the bar and had an amazing custom tangerine mojito made by a very friendly bartender! It was the best mojito I've ever had and such a fun birthday treat! This was my first time in Vegas and my first drink I got. We were seating in a comfy oversized booth and Our server was Adam. We had a wonderful experience from entering the restaurant to when we left. Adam made us feel special knowing it was my first time in Vegas and celebrating a milestone birthday. We ordered Prime Rib, Jumbo shrimp scampi, loaded baked potato, four cheese Mac and cheese and for dessert the surprised us with a complimentary birthday creme brûlée which was so creamy and perfect! We had reservations, and after meeting at the host stand, we were seated quickly. Our "starters" came out nice and quick, steak took a while, but we did order the tomahawk so that was to be expected, but when it came out, boy was that a sight to see. The table side presentation and cutting was amazing (can you tell we don't do "fancy" dining often? lol ). They even paused so we could snap a quick picture before they sliced it up for us. Visited this place while walking around the strip and looking for a decently priced steak restaurant and came upon Gallaghers and it was a good choice. The highlights were the great customer service and the good prices which for steak are a bit less than others on the strip. The steak was good and had good flavor. My only complaint was that the ribeye was a little too fatty. I know ribeyes are more fatty or have more fat content as I eat steak once a week. However this one was a bit more fatty. The other highlight was that they serve sweet potato and not many other restaurants do! I love eating my steak with a sweet potato as it's the perfect pairing for me for steak. The ambiance was nice and typical steakhouse. Overall, this is a solid steakhouse choice if you're on the southern part of the strip and looking for a decently priced steak with good flavor and great service. Decided to try this place for an after work dinner. Located inside New York New York Hotel & Casino, I love how this grand steakhouse sits tucked in the corner of a food court of sorts. It was during the CES convention so it was pretty packed with steady service but we only waited 5 min for a table for 2 - the hostess and manager were gracious and conversational, and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the NY Strip (since that's what they're known for), Chilean seabass and lobster Mac & cheese to share with 2 mocktails (dry January). While the vibe was nice, the food was a little underwhelming. I was expecting an amazing steak, but it was pretty standard (good, but standard). The seabass had that 'seafood' taste and was a little overcooked and the lobster Mac & cheese while runny, was delicious albeit a little salty. In my opinion the dishes were pretty standard.
