I recently dined at Gameday in San Pedro for lunch and am sharing my experience. There was an issue that affected my experience. I ordered a dish that took about 30 minutes to serve, which is understandable for certain items. However, better communication about the potential delay would have greatly improved the experience. When I approached Anthony, one of the staff members, to provide this feedback, I mentioned that it would be good for customers to be informed if a particular dish might have a longer wait time. He raised his voice and retorted, "Let me give you some feedback: you should expect a longer wait because it's during lunch." This response left me taken aback, and rather than continuing to engage in a scene, as many people were around, I chose to walk away. I hope that the restaurant owner can take this feedback constructively and use it as an opportunity to enhance their customer service approach during busy hours. Obviously, because of Anthony's response, our team will no longer eat from there: a) bc of Anthony's extremely awful response and b) just as important, we do not have that kind of time to wait during the lunch hour. Let's start off with the wings which were really big and juicy.The garlic parmesan is good but i think it could have a little bit more flavor. The sweet chill though I really liked. Stumbled on this place in the San Pedro market and ordered up a bunch of wings and fries for the kiddos. I got them naked cause you know the kids like plain stuff. It took a minute but when I got the wings I was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't expecting them to look so nice and plump. Got sat down and kids dug in. They immediately said yum! Tried them myself and dang. Hot damn. Super crispy and flavorful, even without the sauce. And they use big wings too, not those anemic looking ones found at other places. This place makes some pretty fantastic "stadium" and sports bar food. Philly cheesesteaks, cheese fries, wings, etc. What makes it stand out is that it delivers what it's supposed to be in a very solid manner. Large portions, ok food, incredibly slow but friendly service. This spot is located right in the heart of San Pedro Square and offers Philiy cheese steaks and (luckily) some non-meat options. Like all the other spots in San Pedro, it's counter service and we had to wait until our gadget vibrates until we picked up our order. Unfortunately it took a whole 30 minutes until our food was ready. As for the food itself, it was alright. As mentioned, portions are generous which we appreciated. I got the cauliflower "wings@, which come covered in a delicious Korean BBQ sauce with ranch. My husband got the chicken Philly cheese sub, which e said totally lacked flavor. It definitely could've used some lettuce and tomato. He said the fries it came with were good though. Also loved that it had a good amount of meat and had just the right amount of greasiness (like not too excessive where the sandwich would fall apart). I've been here twice now and everything I've tried was great. Some of the best wings I've found in San Jose! The garlic fries are so crispy, not soft and soggy like traditional garlic fries. And the cheesesteak! Easily the second best Philly cheesesteak that I've found outside of Philly. They use a cheese sauce which makes it a lot closer to the real deal than... pretty much everywhere else. It's a white cheese so it's not exactly cheese whiz, but it's still really close to perfection. The employees were very nice.
