R.I.P. to formerly the best Gamestop location in the valley which was one of several to be shut down in the latest wave of closures. This once was "the" place to go, had the best management, had the best midnight release events, and was convenient to get to. One of the former managers (initials G.L.) would go above and beyond to really make the place a party, the Halo and WOW events would include cookouts, live big screens, and a line that'd wrap around the entire building. You'd find yourself just popping in there at times with no intent to purchase just because of the positive vibe. Then we saw the decline of the region. Crime picked up. The homeless arrived. The population grew, the traffic in the area got worse. The traffic cones arrived, which made going over there even less appealing. Then, the management...the last time I visited the store, both employees in there smelled so strong of weed, they were dressed below even Gamestop standards, and the store was barren. The shopping center is now void of any meaningful stores, everything is closed down. It is a shame to see a once thriving area deteriorate so rapidly - but that is the nature of Las Vegas, they consume and destroy things faster here than anywhere else because there's no pride in the city. I suspect I will return in three to five years to this review and see that this was just the beginning of the Gamestop demise, as by then likely Gamestop will be no more - they simply aren't doing enough to adapt, modernize and compete with the digital marketplace. I hope I'm wrong. read more

I know Gamestop, normally gets a lot of flack, but honestly, this one deserves its five stars. Its service is top notch, the selection is always a bountiful, and there is value to be found when using the extra promos that happen on a weekly basis. I highly recommend this location, especially if you have some trade-ins and want to take advantage of some deals. Also, you can buy gift cards for digital purchases if you don't use disc anymore. Rarely do I ever give five stars, but Elle was really the star of the show today being the only person there and managing multiple guests! I had a couple of questions since it's been awhile since I last been to a GameStop but Elle was very knowledgeable and transparent in regards to the return policy of used games and was very humorous as well! From what I was told, you have a 7 day return period and if you don't like the game, they'll completely refund you! Duncan did not do his job as a "manager", he did not know his own company's policy and refused to give me a refund after providing all the information that he needed to do his job properly. He insisted because it was a online order and purchased through PayPal, he became as unprofessional about the whole situation as can be. I asked for the manager and he said he was the manager, then I asked for his manager and he responded with how they don't give out that information? Finally he gave up his boss's name and it's supposedly a "Rodger Castner", but of course he cannot be contacted at all with a phone number or anything, like he doesn't want him to know about how his "managers" treat paying customers. Overall one of the worst customer service experiences I've come across in a very very long time. read more

Apparently, the staff here, or at least Michael specifically, gets their numbers up by predatorily adding on warranties for games to female customers without asking them. Michael asked everyone in line ahead of my girlfriend that happened to be grown men if they wanted a warranty. When my girlfriend got to the register, she was never asked the question. Upon looking at the receipt after leaving, the warranty was added without her knowing. How many parents go in there and women picking up gifts also don't get asked if they want a warranty and just get it added onto big ticket items without them noticing? And using my points to extend my membership also without asking me? What if I wanted to use those points for something else, Michael? My girlfriend feels like garbage for getting taken advantage of and now I feel terrible for her. I have spent $8k at GameStop the last 2 years and i have an extremely bad taste in my mouth with this company. Is it Just him or are they training others to get their managers bonuses by slipping warranties and subscriptions to customers less likely to notice them? Is he a manager there? I'm going to cancel my GS subscription and take my business to Best Buy and Amazon. I'm not sure if this is just a shady location or if it's encouraged throughout the organization. Update: It wasn't Michael (the name on the receip), it was Duncan and he was actually extremely apologetic and may have just been busy from a busy promo day. A gamer haven as they have a wide range of games for any and all consoles and their preowned games are in very good condition. For the preowned games you do have to do a little bit of hunting to find a great one if you don't have a particular game in mind. Their kind of all over the place which I was a bit annoying but other than that most of the prices are a steal. The staff is also very helpful if you have any questions and if they can't help you in store they're willing to find out what other branch has what you're looking for which I really appreciated. If you happen to sign up for their rewards system, it definitely benefits most avid gamers as it give tremendous discounts and access to a lot of special they have so take advantage of that. I like this particular branch because it's very close to me and if they don't have what I'm looking for, they usually take care of it and I'll just come back another time when it's ready. Also, if you happen to just need a case and a game sleeve, you can just ask for it and they'll give it to you which I thought was great LOL some of my game cases were destroyed and they happily gave me new ones free of charge. read more

There's a little blonde girl that works here. She's extremely shy, quiet but helpful and a hard worker. I feel very comfortable with a woman working here. Having being someone with no gaming knowledge she is thorough and respectable when explaining things to me. If it wasn't for her, I'd probably bump it down a few stars since the men never care to approach me for help or anything. She comes to me and tells me about all the new games, deals or any in store specials. Awesome! Coming here for my husbands games is always easy. The midnight releases aren't too bad or long. I like that I can pick up games for him as long as I have his number. Makes it easy since he works such long hours or I can surprise him and make sure he gets the points for purchases or I can see which games he's preordered and I just pay for them, Hate the parking here though.. Have had mostly positive from this location. GameStop gets a lot of hate in general because of what people perceive as very low trade in credit, which can be true but you have to realize what business model it is. They aren't going to give you $50 dollars for your game that isn't going to resell for a higher price than that. There has to be a profit. Anyways service can be a little slow but everyone is mostly friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. Knocked off two stars cause of a mistake they made that I luckily caught. Wanted to pre-order the LIMITED edition ps4 batman Arkham knight bundle. The kid that helped me seemed a bit confused while looking it up in the system but assured me I was getting the right one. Double checked before I left that I was getting the limited console bundle with the batman design on the front. Called a few days later to check again and I learn he pre ordered me the standard black console. Luckily they still had limited available so it was a quick fix but was a bit irritating. read more

The staff seem friendly enough but I think there are some weird policies going on with new game releases. I went in looking for a copy of Halo 4. The employee behind the counter said that there were no copies available because everything was preordered already and it would have to be mail ordered. He added that Wal Mart and Best Buy were all sold and the best chance to get them game would be to order it with gamestop and wait a week for it to be shipped. A quarter mile stroll to the Wal Mart in the same shopping center revealed that not only was Wal Mart not sold out, but they had plenty of copies available. I'm really disappointed that the employees would lie so readily just to get a sale of a game that, based on the hundreds of "preordered" copies sitting behind the counter they had already done quite well selling. Buuuut, my past encounters with Lawrence every year has been great, hes a staple for why gamestop does well when it comes to customer service and competent employees. I have my disagreements with some gamestop policies, prices, and old employees that are no longer there. The 3stars is for that, but its 6/5 stars for the employees. They need to invest in a multiline phone system, but I got through on 2 of 3 calls (one to ask them to reserve a game for me, one to ask where on Earth the store was located.) I didn't see a sign from the street, which would have been helpful because this shopping center is giant! I got the game I wanted, but they charged full price for a new, but opened game. I would have thrown out the box and wrapping anyways, but that seems a little sketchy to call a game new when it's open. The only reason they still get four stars is that they buy and sell used games, and I'm into recycling, so I'm happy to go to a store like this. The two guys working here were super nice and helpful. I pop into this location every now at then since I worked here many moons ago. It's great to see more women working here but I was highly dissatisfied with one particular employee tonight. I reserved a game and headed over to pick it up. When I got in the store there was one person already being attended to on the register. I get in line to wait, assuming it was going to move smoothly. I see two other employees (male and female) moving around near the front and thought one would be there to assist. Some minutes pass by. One walks to the back of the store and then Lindsay (who was standing there) addresses a customer who just walks in the door. I'm like "ok maybe she didn't see me" but let's be honest I was next in line. Then she just leaves to search for his requests lol She gathers some games and prices for the gentleman and he inquires that I've been skipped and asks if I would like to go. I replied no because Lindsay had already scanned his items and the other cashier Sara was about to be finished. Not only did she not apologize for skipping me but she just stared like she didn't comprehend the situation. Not a word from either of the employees, whatever. It takes her quite some time to find the reservation but I was just happy to finally be helped. I finally get my product and I leave hastily because I was pretty pissed to be honest. I didn't mind waiting but her ignorant behavior upset me. Unfortunately I realized I was given the wrong copy of game anyways and needed to return for an exchange. I checked my reservation and it was for the right copy so I was perplexed why she said she had to "check to see if she had it" when I returned not more than 20mins later. I explained my frustration with the ordeal from start to finish, which Sara apologized for. It was more remarkable to see the girl who originally ignored me scurry to the back. This place is horrible. We wait in line for about 20 minutes to buy two 3ds games and the guy tells us they don't actually have either one of the games. So we go grab 2 other games from the shelf and we are made to wait in line again. This time we're in line for 30 minutes stuck behind a bunch of people who are there to sell their stuff. Each transaction takes a ridiculously long amount of time. When we finally get up to the counter, the checker goes to get the games we selected from the shelf, and he tells us they don't have the game again! So we waisted 45 minutes for nothing and were treated rudely by the staff. I will not be renewing my GameStop membership. No one should go to this place. It's a mess! read more
