I didn't realize my husband locked the garage door manually and I went to take the trash out and hit the garage door button and it buckled completely and bent the garage door and moved it off the track ‍. I wanted to add to my review and give kudos to Dave. We battled with our garage door after Dave first visit. He came back and changed the springs, I appreciate he tried the first time the cheap method. Didn't work and I gladly got the springs changed because he was 100% right. We kept having problem with the door afterwards. We had a new motor and the cables kept coming off. Dave came 2 more times to fix it and took the time to go by process of elimination until it now works like a brand new door. He responded to text messages and even if I was willing to pay him for his additional trips he didn't take a dime. He texted me YouTube videos to help when he was not able to come right away. Honest. It's a drag to wake up on a Saturday morning to a broken garage, with both of your vehicles stuck inside. They went above and beyond to diagnosis this issue over the phone and send me a YouTube video to walk me through solving. And at that point I wasn't a customer. Finding a garage door contractor is not easy. But this company was one of the only few with 5 star solid reviews so I gave them a shot. No regrets. David was great, professional, and very friendly. Like the other reviewers that mentioned him, he carefully diagnosed the issues and suggested a few options. The garage door opener was making some nasty cracking noises. He took the time to really fine-tune the garage door opener, made those adjustments, and even installed an additional cross bracket to make sure the garage door opener was super stable. The sensors connected to my garage door opener were not working. The yellow light was not going on. Contacted Garage Door Basics and Dave came to my house. He checked the various wires and ultimately discovered that the wires into the motor unit were loose, which he corrected -- and "presto" the yellow sensor light went on and the garage door opener returned to being fully functional. Although Dave spent about 30 minutes here, he did not charge me!! Garage Door Basics were easy to deal with. When I initially contacted them, they promptly replied and scheduled a time to come to the house in two days.
